Please I need to ask a question.

When did you start understanding French (listening)?

I've been self learning for the past 3weeks, I actually did french in secondary school and wrote in Waec, so I'm on A2 level.

The issue is that I've been listening to Frenchpod 101listening exercises on youtube and I'm yet to grasp the listening part even the ones for absolute beginners

Its discouraging! Please someone should encourage me and tell me how much longer it will take to grasp listening.

Elders please come and help me oh, @Mamaroon, @etrange @bellerin @nj please even those I didn't mention

Hello,
I wrote this over the weekend but couldn't post it again. Honestly this listening is playing with my head.

I felt like giving up and am in A2 with you too. My lesson is smh discontinued because d want to work me on listening and speaking before anything else.

I feel pressured already...
We need help really lipsrsealed

Lest I forget, I decided to do a self practice on Sunday with the absolute beginners listening practice of Frenchpod 101,

..... I couldn't finish, stopped after 4 exercises, cos, hmmmmm...

Okay so back with details...

Firstly EO, in my opinion you need to be very comfortable with speaking French. I immersed myself in French and I struggled a lot in both sections. I was stressed, very nervous and couldn’t communicate well even with the French I could speak. But the point is I didn’t stop speaking, I continued on.

CO, you don’t get to go back to previous questions, it is timed and it goes on to the next page after the time whether you answered the question or not. Pay attention to the texts and practice with the past questions.

CE, you can go back to the questions, so if you meet questions that you do not understand move on to the others you can and then go back to answer the ones that take time.

EE, you can move back and forth between section A and B. Answer the one you know first but spend more time on the section B.
Time really passes fast during the exam so always pay attention to the time.

To be honest, Most of the questions were new, only a few, and I mean really few past questions showed up.
I can’t really remember the questions but I’ll mention the few I do remember.

EO - call for information for a magic show at home, convince your friend to go for a vacation at at country side hiking on donkeys.
Btw I thought we’d be given time to study the and prepare questions, I found out that was false and you’d start immediately.

EE, a lady shopping in the supermarket found a weird object at the fruitS and vegetables stall
It is not useful to teach computer courses to older people.

CO and EO, i can’t really remember but study the strategy to pass it through past questions one or two old ones might pop on.

I have prayed that I get a minimum of B2 superior in all of the tests, because hmmm.

All the best bro, we will be praying for you. Being nervous is normal for a high language proficiency that U have only spoken for 7 months. I think you will do well, to have continued speaking

Please what do you think is a good price for private speaking classes? My main problem is speaking....I have no problem with listening & reading...my writing is okay and can easily be improved but this speaking is such a huge issue for me. Institut Français in Abuja is telling me N4,700 per hour (I know they are very good with tutoring in that school). But I’m wondering if that amount is too much. I had lessons with another tutor for 3,700 for 2 hours 3 times a week but to be honest, he wasn’t a great tutor. Do you think my speaking lessons should be at least 2 hours daily with a tutor? Or 1 hour is okay.

Please how did you get comfortable with listening, have problem with that too

Anyway i’ll be posting the questions passed after the exam.

Wow, all the best. To speak this language upto level of TEf exams no be moi moi, Choi. This my cut and join, na so my waka go be

Thank you I just did
Please respond when you can

I will also encourage you to be patient and diligent with this process.

I used to say, is not rocket science, but I tell you, language learning can be more tasking than the physics.

The only thing is that it you will be seeing your progress though it might be appearing little and slow for the efforts you are pumping in.

Bon courage

Hello ednut1,

Please do you have information to this?

This question is about NOC 4031- secondary school teachers. Is a bachelor’s degree in education required for NOC 4031?

Any firsthand experiences of those who have used NOC 4031 will be appreciated.

Pls has anyone used a teaching noc for express entry? Precisely, noc 4032.
Do i need a teaching license to apply for express entry? I currently have over 3 years work experience as a teacher and over 1 year experience as an accountant in my current job as my degree is in accounting. I would like to use a teaching noc as my primary noc. I got to the point where I'm asked what I have done to get a license in canada as teaching is regulated. I'm stuck here and don't know what to do. I need help.

Can someone please answer this?

I explained clearly in my first write up. The person that taught me from A2 to. B2 is different from the lady that helped me to prepare for tef. I met the lady during prep classes for tef. She came to write the exam too so she's familiar with the tef structure.. The one that taught me is AF tutor(man) via online classes. At that time he wasn't so familiar with tef structure..

Ok, sorry for the stress. Kindly check your pm

I did online classes from A2 to B2. Started in January 2019, by June I was in B2. A1 was physical class though November-december 2018. I just contacted my teacher @ AF and we started.

Here's an advice to you, something I learnt the hard way during the course of this journey. Getting to B2 is different from preparing for tef. So don't be in a rush to write the exams. Give yourself enough time to prepare well and get it the first time. 160k no be small money ooo. The psychological effect too, can be very devastating. Just prepare well and you'll be fine with just one attempt

The online TEF instructor, is it the same woman u have out her number? You had earlier said man.

I like your passion already. The physical class has it's own advantages, make good use of it. Make as many friends as possible, practice daily with them. Don't be afraid to make mistakes, it's all part of the learning process.

And I completely agree with Mamaroon, "no one can motivate you like you".
As far as monitoring your progress is concerned, I'm not sure how to do that. You can shed more light on what exactly you want d person to do. However, when the preparation for the exam starts, I'll be glad to give you pointers on what could be helpful.

Alright, thank you.
I will inform you on that, hopefully you'll still be around by March.
Thank you

Man! Frenchpod is an excellent resource. All the best as you start on Monday - remember you can only make progress with daily consistency.

As far as Tobidam, I don't know very much besides what I read here. S/he seems to have some very committed students/staff who do some marketing (sometimes OTT) for the brand (worldtaker, donpaper, goodnigga, chigrad, purposedriven26 amongst others). There may be some good value there but I don't have all the information. I'd say focus on your current course and then in the future, weigh the options available to you and take a call.

Alright bro, thank you

To be brutally honest, you may have to ginger yourself. No one can push you like you. Even the language school/online tutors can only do so much, the rest is up to us as candidates. Put your mind to it, YOU CAN DO IT!!!. Consider what is at stake, maybe write your current and target CRS in a visible place in your home. Think of others like Ayandee or Njbybrthnly that did it in 6/7 months.

Closer to your exam I'm happy to help with reviewing EE and practicing EO etc.

Thank you ma

Alright bro.
I am currently using my frenchpod and I want to combine it with my language starting Monday.

How reliable is this Tobidam am always hearing here? I just went through their site and they say they will get you to B2 in 5 months. That's remarkable, I want to ask if you know them well?
If they are good as reported here, I might add them to supplement my learning.

Passionate Appeal to the ogas and madams:

Please am asking for someone that I would be accountable to on my French progress. I think that's what I need now to keep progressing and firing up amidst all.

My profile: Am in A2. I have just made a payment for my A2.
My plan is to be in C1 latest by June. Is possible with my language school calendar structure.

I just need a snr person here that has gone through this process that will sit on my case and help me achieve this goal, I do not want to monetize the service I am looking to get, but if it comes to that, I will if is fair.
I won't be a burden either, am not in the country, I will work with any schedule given to me.

I am doing this because I realize I have procastinated alot since this idea came to me in March, imagine, how many months after, am still talking about A2. I had paid for A1 online with a lady in Nigeria, but I am not comfortable with online learning anymore, so I am opting for physical class eventhough is very costly.

Gurus in the house, abeg help me not to keep wasting my time.
Please feel free to pm me, I just need one coach from here.
