Jobs/VacanciesAdvice For A Nigerian Looking To Come Home by chuckdee4(op): 2:37pm On May 22, 2008
My fellow Nairalanders a very good friend of mine has been talking about going back home to work, he's been working in IT for the past 3 years and after a visit to Naija he decided to go and test the waters there

What tips could you give him and what is the best way for him to go about it as he has been away for a while but still hasn't lost the Nigerian in him.

Aint been around in a while but just wanted to congratulate Scum United on retaining the title, i bet the likes of Jackal n I-servant would have had multiple orgasims over the title.

All the same congrats, in all honesty would rather have seen United win it than Chelsea with their boring brand of football

Strong words coming from a 1-man team supporter, take Ronaldo and his goals and u guys would be worse off than us, FACT, without looking at the stats i bet we have more goal scorers than u.

Did u see me blame anything on injuries, i simply siad it played a part in our demise, what else was i expecting arguing with Hitler over the jews won't get me anywhere

A lot of fickle fans are beginning to show themselves, Wenger out, u must be joking.
Fair enough he has to take responsibility for not winning anything this season but asking for him to be sacked is just crazy, did anybody predict we were going to win the league this season, heck even AW said we would challenge but didn't guarantee we would win it

@ Jackal in all honesty did u think we would win th eleague this season?

After the first half of the season wew were sitting pretty and naturally eveyone began to believe but the second half of the season just showed that AW's work isn't completely done yet, it was a bloody good effort by the boys but injuries and bad decisions came back to haunt us and credit to them they have come back like men especially after the way they bossed Manchester United at OT, shows how far we have come along, we just need a "wining at all cost" mentality and we're good to go, no more throwing away of leads, that has to be sorted out over the summer, i think one rock hard defender should sort that out

@ Jackal
if u call a 2 man squad powerful then u must be having a laugh, take Gerrard and Torres out of that team, how many match winners have u got , Voronin, kuyt, Benayounhuhhuh??, please, liverpool had a good slice of luck against us and u know it but well done to them non the less

Unfortunately BLATANT is so right, one thing us Nigerians lack is unity.

If this was an Indian this happened to, they would all boycott BA and BA would turn around and start begging them to fly again for reduced prices, but us Nigerians will take shit and go back to the source of the shit, when will we learn to stop taking such nonsense behaviour from foreigners, how does protesting to an officer equal an arrest and a ban, i have seen non repentant criminals get lesser punishment, would they have done this to a white man?

@ Eldee

You're right, part of our problem is mental, we couldn't keep our momentum going and all of a sudden we started collapsing under small pressure, we need more mental strenght as well as more bodies to enhance competition for positions and provide more cover
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by chuckdee4(m): 10:17am On Apr 14, 2008
Hmmmm, outplayed the scummies on their dirty patch yet we lost, i saw the game and i got that feeling of deja vu the moment we scored, stupid Gallas why didn't he throw a tantrum after he gave away the penalty (That french Arrow needs a good bollocking), if that was Clichy, Gallas would have sulked all day.

Anyway Arsenal played better than i expected, if we had a Torres or Henry, United would have been staring down a humiliating defeat, Jackal what happened to the bashing u promised us at OThuh Although it hurts for the season to end this way there are a lot of positives to take from this, Wenger should definetly know that we need about 4-5 class players and the likes of Hoyte, Lehmann, Senderos and Gilberto can Bleep off (Sorry Berti), the rest make good squad players (Diaby, Eboue, Bendtner).
We need;
- An able and effective cover for Fab
- An effective winger that hugs the touchline for dear life
- A CB to give KT and WG a run for their positions, especially Gallas
- A striker who doesn't need 6 chances to score 1 (then walks aroung thinking he's the shyte)

In all we are heading in the right direction, we may not have won anything this season but the signs are there for the rest of the premiership to see

I did not see Ronaldo again (the effing self-servicer spent half the game in Clichy's pocket, heck he couldn't even get past our make shift right back).
AW just needs a bit more time with this team, the work is almost complete and i believe next season we will manifest if Wenger deals rightly in the transfer market.

How quickly many of y'all forget, Wenger should not be sacked just like HNIC said he should be given a shake up from that comfort zone he's at

and by the way apart from HNIC and myself didn't anyone notice how well Song played (Kept Rooney rather quiet), i don't understand why people want him out, he did much better than Senderos and is very versatile (Midfield and Defence), i say keep him and start using him more often, i think he might have even done better than Berti did,

Now i guess the only thing to do is sit down n watch United n Chelsea kill each other over the title, i won't lie as much as it hurts me to say this i would rather United win it cos Chelse'a game plan is to bore the rest of the EPL with their football then steal the title while u sleep.

@ Poster

i would like to think that u did more than what u said u did to be treated the way u were, but judging from the story thats a load of bulshit coming from BA and the London Met. You get ocassional cases like these where the police don't follow the rules, i mean how could they accuse you of money laundering?

Like someone suggested u need to get a good lawyer and sue the ass off the both of them, the police can't arrest u without enough evidence, fine they could claim u disrupted their work but i don't see how showing concern can be harmful to whatever it is they were doing. They obviously have no proof on these false allegations they layed on u, get a good lawyer and document how BA also ruined ur luggage, they should be made to pay for that amongst all other inconveniences they caused u, leaving u stranded at the airport without any money or luggage, a good lawyer should be able to document all these things including the extra money u had to spend as a result of this predicament.

I've never liked BA, i feel their staff are ur typical snubbish Brit and they no send any one of us dudu's, fine u might get the occassional few who are ok but majority of them just like us for the money we generate for their economy.

As the captain of the ship Wenger will always be blamed but we've been down this road before and we all know in our hearts that he's not going anywhere.
Wenger is very close to making his killer squad, it is quite obvious we are light (squad wise) when compared with the other big 4 and the loss of 3 key players has further reduced our team to about 7 first teamers and 4 subs starting a match.
Like i said earlier on, Liverpool rode their luck, if that was Eboue who had dived like Babel he would be getting slatted for it up until now.

Team wise i feel we need a quality CB, 2 Wingers and a striker, whilst we get rid of the following

Senderos - I've finally lost my patience with him, i thought with time the errors would dissapear but this guy is just a mistake waiting to happen and he always chooses the big ones to drop these mistakes

Hoyte - A quality example why Wenger doesn't go English, i must say i thought he was developing well but all that seems to have stopped, he's been awful everytime i've seen him this season and seems to be content where he is, ship him out sharp sharp

Gilberto - Whatever happened to him i don't know but lack of first team football has sure not helped him, even when he has been called upon he has been far from convincing, sentiments aside this love affair has to end, thanks for the memories we wish u all the best.

Lehmnn - Do i even have to say anything bout the German

Diaby and Eboue
I have watched u guys slate these 2 senseless and i want to come to their defence

Diaby - IMO has not been bad at all considering the fact that he is being played in an unusual position, i don't think he should be partnered with Fab4 since the guy does not have a defensive bone in his body, i do however feel he could be effective as a supporting striker (Call me mad) cos he's gifted with the ball at his feet.
In all i don't think we should let him go just yet, he makes a good squad player and has some goals in him like he displayed against Liverpool, Blackburn n others this season

Eboue - He's most definetly no right midfield player, at the start of the season we all thought it might be a good idea and to start off with he didn't do to badly but he doesn't offer a great deal offensively (Which is what a right sided midfield player should do) on the other hand he protected Sagna very well but in the process forgot all his offensive duties.
Let us not forget that he's a RB by nature even the Ivory Coast hardly play him past the half way line. I feel we should keep him cos he is definetly a good squad player but should be played mostly at RB, when he played there after Sagna got injured he didn't do too badly, we've seen him pocket Ronaldo b4 so he is still a good player to have on the bench.

I reckon we're a few players short of a title winning team, we don't need a massive clearout we just need a bit more quality in the team (Especially a cover for Fab4, the kid can't keep dragging the team single handedly). A hard lesson has been learnt this season but look how qucikly this team's growing, when compared to last season, if we pick up the pieces and work on our weak points i don't see why we can't challeng for the title again next season.

Forever a Gunner
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by chuckdee4(m): 5:16pm On Apr 09, 2008
Fab fouled Babel alright outside the area, Kolo never touched him, if anything he tried to get out of his way but in both legs we didn't get the major decisions end off, thats all stale gist anyway, the game's all said an done.
The semis should be interesting, me thinks its time for Chelsea to get Liverpool back but with the Baron in charge and Essien missing the first leg its hard to see Chelsea outfoxing Liverpool, especially in that mad house Anfield
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by chuckdee4(m): 12:39pm On Apr 09, 2008
otokx:
Liverpool was clearly the better side with their coach delivering superb tactical strategy.
What superb strategy, Rafa got it all wrong right from the start, did u see the first 20 minutes of that game, a better team would have shagged Liverpool black and blue in the first 20 mins.
Babel was just about the only thing he did right on the night, everything else was down to luck, Gerrard (Move him as much as he wanted) was ineffective all night, Liverpool didn't outsmart Arsenal, Arsenal pressed the self destruct button on themselves, we could have squeezed Liverpoo to death if we had a much tighter defence, tell me if that was Chelsea who scored in the 13th minute, wouldn't that have been game over.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by chuckdee4(m): 10:34am On Apr 09, 2008
Again the Poo ride their luck against us (Just like they've done against Chelsea in d past)
No point complaining, they go through although i must say if the ref had got certain decisions right over both legs we wouldn't be where we are today.

There are certain positives to take from the game
- The first 20 minutes prooved to me that we can outplay almost anyone when the ocassion arises
- Theo's coming good and has improved as the season has gone by (After a lot of people had written him off)

Negative
- Our stupid inability to not hold on to a lead (Conceeding unecessary goals)
- Certain players just have to go (Eboue, Gilberto n Senderos)
- We need more firepower

Lossing Flamini was a big blow but u can't use that as an excuse. We were fantastic in the first 20 and Liverpoo didn't know what hit them but we always fail to retain such pressure, we also need to start defending whe the need arises, sexy football will not bail u out of all scenarios, what AW shoudl have done after we levelled 2-2 was to throw all 11 men behind the ball (Afterall teams do that against us) and try to hit Liverpoo on the break, if he had done that it would have been difficult fo rLiverpoo to break us down, i feel sorry for Theo cos on any other night his assist should have been a match winning performance. Shit happens anyway, i am curiously watching to see wht the gaffe will do over the summer, we definetly need depth in the squad if we are to compete to the very end i all these cups. We have a very good first team but we need extra quality cover for them and for the ones made of glass (RVP n Rosicky).

Still a fan irrespective, y'all scummies and the "I'm now a Chelsea fan" can spew all u want, i love my red n white army and although it looks like we may not win anything this season i'll keep supporting, i aint a glory hunter like some fans i know
