Let's hope the return of certain key players will give us some momentum, we need to string a series of wins, cos being 7 points behind at this early stage just aint it at all.
CareerRe: How Lucrative Is Sas(statistical Analysis Software) In Nigeria by chuckdee4(m): 4:19pm On Oct 15, 2010
ishmael:
That Nigerian Banks and big firms use it? What do they do with it? I doubt if nigerian banks believe in using such packages to achieve what they want (profit). American and European banks and businesses use it a lot for business analyses; but nigeria, i doubt; no body wants to follow the right path, they believe even without it they can still make their profits.

Just learn it on your own and add to your cv.
Couldn't agree more with you, i knw First Bank use it for their credit risk managment but asides that, the tool just sits down there doing nothing.
With all the cyustomer data and transactional data they collect, they could easily start up a customer intelligence unit to understand their customers better but these banks are all about marketing, trying to obtain new customers when the one's yuo have are not happy with the service you are providing.

The thought pattern of organizations has to change dramatically before tools like SAS can be fully utilized in Nigeria.

Where i work, only 1 person in the entire company knows how to use Cognos

PhonesRe: Incredible! BlackBerry Phone Found And Returned by chuckdee4(m): 3:43pm On Jun 06, 2010
I once lost my iPhone 3g @ Millenium Park< abuja.
Took me another 3 hours to realise that it was not with me. When i did eventually realise that i had lost the phone i took a friend's phone and started calling it, it kept on ringing without any response, eventually i gave up.
Later on that evening my phone started calling my frined's phone, so i picked it up and a lady said she found the phone and asked me to come pick it up the next day

Believe it or not when i got there this lady happened to be a polic woman shocked
I offered her money for her son (cos she said it was her kid who found the phone) but she declined. I even offered her money for the credit she had put on it to use n call my friend's phone but yet again she declined.

Truly there are some REAL BORN AGAINS out there.

Eventually i ended up thanking her a million and one times before leaving.

God bless that lady, wherever she is

CultureRe: Men Don't Think African Culture Is The Best. They Like It Because It Favors Them by chuckdee4(m): 1:17pm On Dec 09, 2008
gabrywyl:
Michelin, I think u are right cause right now I'm actually putting myself in the men's shoes,. Lets not talk about the African culture just to prove your point right. lets take an example of my culture. Where I come from, the women is the superior towards the men. During my grandmothers time, she goes gambling and she sleeps with other men and she beats her husband up. Now, some of my aunts are still doing as such but those whom are not doing it is still the head of the family. Whatever the mother says, everyone has to respect her decision whether they like it or not.

Recently, one of ,my aunt got married to a white man and there were rules being given to him by my grandmother. He did not really want to accept it and he told my aunt that he would like to change the rules because this is the 21st century.

My grandmother told us that we as females must stand firm to our status and not let the men take over. Its obvious that she wanted to maintain the culture just ofr her own benefit.

So same goes for the African men sha. smiley

After all, who no want good things in life?
Most of the examples u put up there are by no means traditional practices, fair enough the average African traditional practise usually favours the male specie.

If u think African ladies have it bad go and see what females go thru in Asia (India) or middle east, where women literarilly have no say in absolutely anything, they might as well just be part of the furniture.
I'm not saying our traditional beliefs are the best in the world but they could be worse, thankfully with right thinking individuals in place and people using more common sense these traditional beliefs will eventually becoe abolished.

Its a known fact that women are usually put down, heck even in the Western world they are certain jobs and positions that women cannot get/attain, isn't that pretty much the same thing as some of the African culture.

In a nutshell, common sense should be the order of the day, our traditional beliefs should be mixed with common sense in order to provide equality

If i had only heard the audio i would have swore it was a molue

Nigerian, Ghanian, Gambian, Mexican, all irrespective, why couldn't any of these old men be the bigger man, the guy (railuwe worker) in the orange jacket and his group could have aplogied and put it to rest, Mr man from Gambia could have simply let them rant on and make them look like mad men.

Either way this was good comedy, almost like being in surulere all over again

lets cut the teachers some slack, its not a strange thing to forget shit over the decades . maybe they are senior secondary school teachers and have no businesss with primary school stuff. i'm not trying to make excuses, just my opinion.
Dominique i didn't see the questions but from what i read they are basic maths and english questions, primary or secondary level is no excuse for scoring ZERO, heck even my dad would have aced that and he finished school donkey years ago.

The issue has to be adressed, i feel sorry for the poor kids who have to be taught by these so-called teachers

That love is too much oh. Other tribes love their mothers but an igbo mans love surpasses the one akata men have for their mother. That i think is not natural and something must be behind it. Juju or some form of mental hypnotism.

Ok i might get some stick for this but i do feel Eboue will be integral this season, i've always stood b him even with u guys castrating him on here, he's a fantastic squad player and can be a first team player if he puts a bit more end product tto his hard work.
To be honest i feel the main reason why pple deilike Eboue is because of his antics and not his mode of play.

As for ex-Arsenal players, i got nothing to say its still early days but if given the chance i'lld re-do the Hleb-Nasri deal, we'll definetly get more goals from Nasri, Hleb can take his 2-goals a season and go to Barca, with him injured we're probably looking at 1-goal the whole season. Wish them all the best though

AW or Arsenal are not ready to sell Ade, this is just typical foreign teams trynna poach and unsettle another player. they left Drogba who saopenly said he wanted to quit Stamford bridge to chase Ade who said he was happy to stay at Arsenal.

@ matured
i feel this topic forreal, a lot of peeps in nigeria don't want to take care of there country because they think a platter of gold is awaitin them in another so called developed country, and until they get there they would find out that all that glitters is not gold. may we Nigerians one day realise the treasures we have in our own country and use it to our advantage. And lets stop using the government as an excuse plsss, WE are the government.

WORD
@ Maree

That statement is not exactly true, how can u function in a country where the government are a bunch of money grabbing twarts, i know a lot of people who try to make an honest living for themselves but the situation of the country (Created by the govenment) does not help them achieve their potential.
I'm not saying that the governement are to blame 100%, we have to take part of the reponsibilty ourselves but a lot of things we do all revolve around the governement.
If the governemnt fixed up and things functioned properly a lot of Nigerians in diaspora would be back home in a jiffy to come contribute what they've learnt abroad into the Nigerian economy
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Arsenal Fan Thread: For Gunners Only (Old) by chuckdee4(m): 10:13am On Jun 24, 2008
So true HNIC, Ade should not be sold, why sell a player that bagged over 30 goals last season.
The potential replacements are not proven in the premiership (Except Santa Cruz). I would rather have Ade over Eto (Who's past his best now) and Villa (Who we're not sure can cut it in the prem). Ade misses a lot of chances YES but at least we know what we get from him in return, u never know what u'll get with a new striker.

The only circumstance that AW should let Ade go would be unless he had a suitable replacement already in the club then i would urge him to sell but for now Ade is our top striker and Milan can go screw themselves

CultureRe: Cats by chuckdee4(m): 12:13pm On Jun 23, 2008
Cats are very misunderstood
A few years back i used to hate cats with a passion, from their eyes to their walk i hated everything about them.

Moved into a new place some 2 years back and it turns out that the old home owners left their cat behind, the cat wasn't inside the house, he was always in the garden and would try to get in at night or enter the kitchen to be fed (I take it that most have been a regular practice).
Together with my siblings and parents we were pissed as hell and wanted to call the RSPCA to carry him away but during Christmas we looked into the garden as it was snowing and saw the cat in the shed, hiding away from the snow, we looked into the kitchen and saw all this xmas food and then the spirit of xmas hit us, why have all that food then allow an innocent cat go hungry, so we invited him in and fed him. From that day it became a habit, we kept on feeding him until he became very comfortable with him, we proceeded to buy him a sleeping box and give him his own designated area in the house.
Its been 2 years since we let him into the house an dhe's been lovely without giving any issues, found out he was castrated so he doesn't have hormonal fights for territory and all that wahala.

Cats are not as bad as u may think, i used to hate them with a passion, look at me today, don't believe everything u hear or see on tv, tv has a way painting things bad before ur very eyes, in my opinion cats are much cleaner and less hassle than dogs and don't get the praise they deserve as pets
