nope. That's not what I paid. Check his thread. He is a fraud. Messes people's cars up. Well, this thread is not about him. But anybody thinking of going to him will be disappointed. So called oven is not functional. Just a shade for all I know.

You see why it's always good to give review, whether good or bad one. I almost had a deal with this guy last year. He was to get me a 2004 lexus GX470. Along the line, I learnt the ropes and decided to do it myself. TSAT, I'm angry u had to wait this long before blowing this open. We must expose irresponsible people on this forum. A lot of these guys are very callous. No regards for people's sweat. Just like the horrible pristineautos who messes people's cars up in the name of spray job. We must learn to give reviews.

that pic is definitely not for VQ35DE engine. The engine oil capacity is too low for that engine. In fact my manual says otherwise. That manual may be for VQ33DE

Nice ride. Truth is that u won't be able to maintain it. U will come back here crying. If I recall correctly, u refused installing the appropriate ac compressor in ur camry. U overheated ur camry engine, bypassed the fan, removed the thermostat. When u finally killed the engine, u were advised to buy a full one. But u went for half engine. If u couldn't maintain a car as simple and ubiquitous like 07 camry, don't even embark on this journey.

It's very disheartening reading the comments in this thread. Nigerians bask and pride in ignorance. After reading most comments on how people take pride in abusing their cars, I will never advice anyone to buy a naija used car. Shame.

This is solved. After spending more than two weeks with the first mechanic, he still couldn't fix it. I decided to relax and try again after a while.

Last week I was introduced to another mechanic and I told him the history of repair attempts. He said he would not charge a dime before service, but that when it's fixed, he would give me the bill. His confidence surprised me.

I dropped it, picked it up the next day, and the noise was gone. In less than 24 hours this guy fixed what I spent the better part of a month trying to fix with another.

It turns out the issue was indeed the camshaft. But instead of replacing just the one in the front bank (the previous mechanic strongly insisted that only that one needs to be changed even when I suggested he changed both) the new mechanic worked on both engine banks.

And that was it. My lesson, and advice to everyone, if a mechanic tries for a couple of days and can't fix your issue, find another mechanic.

Hello experts in the house. A friend needs help with vehicle and I'll appreciate your contribution to this thread.

Toyota Sienna LE, 2007. Auto transmission, FWD.
It started with drive shaft problem and it was changed. When it was parked after test driving by the mechanic, it could not move move forward again but reverse gear engaged and moved perfectly. Every auto transmission consulted here (Ibadan) keep saying it was because the shaft was removed while the oil was hot. They said it is common fault of "13-pin valve body" toyota sienna but I find it difficult to believe. P0500 generated it was erased and p0793 later generated. Please, I need enlightment on this. Thanks

an old post though. But I think what they told you about bringing out the shaft while oil was hot is so true. Solution is usually to change transmission. It's always good to leave feedback on how the issue was resolved.
