Advice to intending applicants. STOP USING AGENTS. You can do this on your own. Go through the UK rules and regulations. Read this thread from page 1 and if you need clarifications you can post. If you go through my profile, you will find out that I was once sent back from the airport with pregnancy. I thought all hope was lost but I applied again, said the truth and was granted. If you were once denied in any country, state it there and the reason for denial. You must not be too specific and give all the details but summary is enough. In my case, I usually write: due to oversight on my part, I didn't state that I was pregnant while filling the application form which led to me been accused of medical tourism at the border and sent back. In actual fact, it's more complicated than that but that's how I summarise it. I have applied twice after that and granted. Goodluck guys.

The rules are: You will not need a TB test if you lived for at least 6 months in a country where TB screening is not required by the UK, and you’ve been away from that country for no more than 6 months.

Since you have spent more than 6 months in the UK, you are both exempted
Thanks. I saw the rules and I wanted to confirm again.

My Personal Opinion, will advise u do another TB taste for her hoping its comes out clean to be on a safe side.
Chest x-ray was done for her nothing and even blood. Nothing was found. Only a skin test that shows she has been exposed.

Please I am applying for a tier 4 visa for a PhD. My daughter is also applying as a dependent. The issue is that I have been in the UK since Feb 2018 and only coming back to do this application. In the UK we did another round of tuberculosis tests but blood tests as it is compulsory. Mine came back negative but my daughter is said to have been exposed but not sick. Just an exposure. She's been given preventative treatment.

Now my question, do I have to do another tuberculosis test or I present the one done in the UK. Secondly for my daughter, do I have to do the test for her as she's already undergoing treatment. We have only been in Nigeria for 3 days.

Thanks

Congratulations on your safe delivery..........

What you do is very simple, apply the same way you originally did + include your experience at LHR....... Dats all.....
Dear Lexus and Justwise, I didn't give an update of my application and all that after my unfortunate incident. I am currently in the UK with my baby and husband, Leeds to be precise. Been here since February 8.

I applied again as you advised as my husband was now on a tier 2 with his COS and letter of maintenance from his work place. Funnily enough, we forgot to include marriage certificate and during the wait I almost died. We used priority got the visa about 8 working days later.

This time we didn't go through London Heathrow. We used KLM via Amsterdam to Leeds. At the airport the immigration officer asked if I had been to UK before and I downloaded everything to him. He detained us for a while to go check inside. Came back and allowed us in. My husband almost died of heartattack when he saw every one coming out of the airport with no sight of us. Eventually came out and all of our worries over.

We have collected our brp and even registered with a hospital. Did baby's dedication recently. I want to thank everyone that replied during my trying time. I actually thought my travel was over. Husband and I even talked about him moving back to Nigeria if it was no longer possible for me to join him. In all I give praise to God for everything.

is this certain? I submitted an application since 23 March and paid for priority and was hopeful since it was just renewal oh...the person travelled to UK in 2012 and has valid US visa. Just got mail to pick up passport yesterday. Status changed to decision made in the morning and ready for collection 4:15pm. this really affected all my plans but who do i arrest? God bless Nigeria.....so just prepare for the worst case.
This was my own experience for tier 2. My self and my baby applied. Don't know about visiting visa or any other category. You know these UK people very unpredictable but if you are in a hurry and have all your documents complete and you can also afford it, then you can go for it.

Good day elders in the house, your boy needs some guidance.
Got my certificate of sponsorship for my Tier 2 visa 2 days ago. I'm scheduled to resume June 4. I was originally scheduled to resume May 14 but someone in recruitment forgot to issue m the COS after it had long been assigned so resumption date was changed from may 14 to June 4. I wouldn't want this date to be moved forward again although the COS expires July 6.
My challenge now is my English language proficiency requirement. I had issues with UKNARIC so I had to quickly put in for IELTS which I sat for yesterday and I'm very confident of the outcome. Results expected April 20.
My question is, if I commence my Tier 2 visa applications after April 20, let's say April 23/25 will my visa be out well before the June 4 resumption date?
Someone said its a gamble and advised I use priority but I'm a bit confused about the cost of priority for Tier 2, I'm getting different figures from different sites.
https://uk.tlscontact.com/ng/lgv/page.php?pid=added_value_services#Priority-Visa £184 for non settlement visa within 5 working days. And £551 for settlement visa within 30 working days ( which sounds strange to me, I thought it's usually within 15 working days without priority)
https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-priority-applications says £941(I'm on the shortage occupation list, but I suspect this doesn't apply to me cos the site says you can only use this service in the UK.
In summary, what's the cost of priority for Tier 2, applying from Nigeria. And what are my chances of getting a reply well before June 4 if I apply after April 20 without priority.
Thanks
Use the tls contact one of 184 pounds. You will get it within 5 working days. You can either pay with your card and book on their site online or pay with your card when you get there. my husband didnt want to wait 15 days as he was tired of staying alone with family in Nigeria.

I applied to join my hubby who's in a tier 2 with my baby. We got it within one week although it got to us two days plus the one week. Even with my adverse immigration history we were issued. You can check my previous post. I used ikeja tls. All the best.

Most airlines will provide a bassinet. You will need to buy a ticket for your baby (typically 10% of normal ticket price). Remember to check in early, so that you are allocated a seat with the bassinet; if you don't manage, speak with the steward/ess immediately you enter the plane, so that they can arrange for the bassinet/+seat for you.
Thanks. I actually requested for a bassinet at the counter and I was given. Although I felt pity for the Oyinbo man sitting beside me. My baby disturbed the hell out of him. LOL

Wait for their reply, they will probably going to ask you to submit it through visa centre or email to the embassy. I know many have experienced this before but can't remember clearly how they resolved it. The good thing is that you spotted it on time.
Thanks Justwise. Their reply came this morning and they said I can't submit additional documents except requested by the ECO.

I am waiting fingers crossed and hoping and praying to God that the ECO requests for it because we submitted all other documents. I will keep you updated on how it went.

@Justwise. Hope you are doing good.

Please I just submitted my application but due to an oversight did not submit my marriage certificate. I have sent them and email through their paid service. I just want to know if this has happened to anybody before and how it was treated from your experience. Please how can get this document to them. I paid for priority service and applied just this friday. Thanks

When you book your appointment, you pick that you want a priority service. Also you will be asked to create a TLS account, When you do this, you can include priority service to your profile and pay for this at the TLS centre during your interview.

You cannot have your visa within 10 days. Priority takes 6-10 weeks (this is me assuming that you are applying for a spouse visa).

Include your child in your application. You will see the option on the homepage, after logging into visa4uk.fco.gov.uk look up and you will see “apply for myself”, “apply for someone else”, “view my applications”. Click on the second option.
Thanks so much. I am actually applying for a tier 2 dependent visa. I have checked online on tls, no priority just premium, standard and super priority.

I have used the option for apply for someone else. Thanks again

@Justwise, happy New year. Been mentioning your name on the spouse thread uk not knowing you were active here. Please I have the following questions:

I am applying for my one year old child, do I have to make a separate application for her? Secondly how do I link our applications together as a group? Checked tls website but couldn't find it.

Thirdly, for a tier 2 visa, how do I pay for priority in Lagos ? Anybody with information should let me know please.

Thanks

I think you need to make a separate application for your child. If you look at the home page of you application, I think there is an option for another application- you can fill your child’s info here.
Thanks so much. Please do you know how I can pay for priority visa at the Lagos location? I would like the visa to be ready in at most 10 days. Secondly, how can I make a group application, my child and I? Checked the options at making appointments and I see only standard, and super priority. Thanks
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by cindylee: 6:14pm On Jan 08, 2018
@ Lexusgs430 and Justwise, please I have started a tier 2 application online. Do I need to fill a separate form for my child or the section where they asked for dependent is sufficient.

What I mean is that does each dependentmake their own application independently? My child and I are applying together. Thanks .

Happy New year to you guys again
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by cindylee: 3:59pm On Dec 29, 2017
Happy New year in advance to everyone. @Lexusgs430 and Justwise, I hope you can remember me. I was the one who travelled to the UK on a tier 4 and was turned back abi deported, don't know which terminology to use now because I was pregnant and didn't disclose in the form. I was advised to have my baby and reapply.

I don born o to God be the glory for safe delivery. Gave birth on 20 December hubby came in on Christmas day and has been with us ever since. Now we have started planning again.

He is on a tier 2 visa now and has a COS and also a letter from his employer staying they will cover him, me and our child for one month. I think 960 for him and 630 for me and my child each.

My biggest fear now is how to present my case. Apart from the required docs which I would post here later, how do I capture my case so it will be approved. Please general advise or specific will be Welcome. Again, if all going well, our child will be around 6 weeks when we travel, is there anything we need to know or do when travelling with such a young child? My husband intends doing priority for us because he wants us to go together. He doesn't want to take any chances and truthfully he's tired of living separately from his family.

Thanks

I just managed to read that attachment now and i can understand why the immigration acted that way, unfortunately you and your hubby made a lot of mistakes.

Personally i think you should have your baby in Nigeria and reapply when your baby is old enough to fly.

Reapplying now judging by the situation will be a bad idea
Thanks. Do you think it will attract a refusal or ban? I know it's in my history but what are my chances?

I do think you can reapply again if you want to or just wait till after giving birth and your husband has switched visa category. To reapply again now you need to make prenatal arrangements with a private hospital and provide such evidence. After birth, you simply apply again as a dependent and ensure you mention that you were refused entry previously and why. As long as you are upfront with everything you shouldn't have any problems.
Thanks. I was really afraid if I would have a ban or something like that in future

I had similar kind of situation in 2006. It was a dependant visa back then. I was to join my family who migrated a year before, so when I was ask questions, I stupidly told the immigration guy I was still schooling in Nigeria, anyways long story short my dependant visa was cancelled but I was allowed to stay for a week.
Six months later I applied for a family visit visa and d rest is history.
It doesn't affect u from entering into the UK again, allow your hubby to move to the other visa and applied with that.
Thanks so much. I am thinking of having my baby and applying with him/her after he has moved to another visa.

Dear all, please I am desperate and been crying since yesterday. I think it was an error or lack of preparation on my part but please don't judge or crucify me. I just need a way forward and I need your advice.

My husband is on a tier 4 doctoral extension scheme. I applied first to join him in April but was denied because we submitted fixed deposit funds instead of liquid cash. We liquidated applied in June but then we were denied again because we didn't submit emails and chats and also tuberculosis certificate .

My husband visited me in nigeria during that period so I got pregnant. We applied again with the tb certificate which was stating that I was pregnant. But on the application form we didn't state the pregnant. I was granted the tier 4 dependent visa and travelled on Wednesday. I was refused entry and put on an airplane back to Nigeria based on the attached. I was told I didn't indicate I was pregnant on the UK application form and secondly I want to use the nhs funds. Then I think I goofed. I stated that I will leave the UK before giving birth that I wouldn't give birth in nigeria.

Please based on the attached letter, what do you guys advise I do? Will I be baned or refused future visas to join my husband? What's the implication? Please I am so desperate and need your advice on way forward.

Thanks all
Please I am still waiting for my response concerning my case. I really need clarification on way forward.

It is obvious you are very worried, the main reason why all details must be disclosed during the application process, because any discovery of the untold, could be viewed as deception.

You are not the only person that has fallen fowl of this lack of disclosure, loads of undeclared ladies also have been deported, from various parts of the world.......

You would not be banned. You simply need to explain the historic events, whichever path you decide you go.....

NB : On a lighter note, how was UK breeze and air? You sniffed it for a few hours..........
Lol. You think that was what I was thinking of? I have been to visit him four times when we were dating and once when married. Na to officially join that's the problem. I was actually detained and interviewed again when I kept on insisting that my tuberculosis certificate showed I was pregnant and she went to meet the chief immigration officer to make a final decision.

If I would not be banned, then I would just wait until I have my baby and I gets his tier 2 visa. Then apply again and see what happens.
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by cindylee: 5:26am On Sep 10, 2017
Lexusgs430:
The biggest problem was not mentioning the pregnancy. It would be deemed deception and a way to engage in health tourism (which is a hot potato in the uk at the moment).

If he appeals, I bet you before the case would heard, the baby would be about a year old....

On appeal it could be reversed, but still balls to the same conclusion......

Take care of yourself and the baby, that's the most important issue at the moment.......

NB: On further reflection, what is he appealing? The visa was granted, but denied entry at the POE.

Going down that route would involve a solicitor's engagement, because you would be suing the home office, for denying you entry. The cost implications could be prohibitive.
Hence my earlier suggestion........
Thanks so much. You can see that by this time in Nigeria I am still awake. The issue is disturbing us especially me. One thing I am afraid of is future application. Will this hamper my chances of going or join him later? Will I be banned or refused going forward? If he is on a tier 2, can I apply and won't be rejected based on this circumstance?

Thanks for taking your time to respond. It's pretty calming

@ Justwise and all gurus in the house. Please advise on way forward. I am thinking of going by Lexus advice. Have my baby here in Nigeria and apply later. My husband just got a job that will be willing to sponsor tier 2. Should we wait until he changes his class of visa? Will I be denied future applications based on my refusal? What are our chances against appeal? What are your suggestions generally?

Please forgive any typos or excessive demands. This thing no easy abeg.
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by cindylee: 4:27am On Sep 10, 2017

Sorry to hear the unfortunate twist of events.

The implication of this is, your were denied entry & deported.
They simply assumed you wanted to do a Buhari, without paying........ (they viewed you as a health tourist). Which was further confirmed by the call they put through to your husband....
Your return ticket did not help matters either. If you reapply - ¬
NB : The main issue I envisage is that, it would look like your original intention was to give birth in the UK and the original deportation was a valid rejection...

It might be best to give birth in Nigeria, then put in a joint application afterwards (mother & baby).

On the application, obviously mention the deportation and the circumstances around it......

My Oga's at the TOP might have a better suggestion.....
Thanks so much for your response. I have been researching and found out that nhs does not constitute recourse to public funds of you are on a dependent visa. My husband wants to appeal, what are our chances? Where can we appeal this decision? Can it even be appealed? Finally, will this hamper future application as in denials?

Please help as I am desperate. I don't even want this to affect my baby as I have not been able to sleep since.

Thanks all

To help dependent spouses in the future, these are the docs I submitted. I made a lot of mistakes because didn't search well on this forum before applying. Applies twice and this is the third application:

TB certificate
Husband's passport pages indicating he has visited me several times in Nigeria
My own visa pages showing I visited him 3 times
Tickets to UK during those visits
National express tickets in the UK
Mails we have sent
Facebook chats
Whatsapp chats
Wedding pictures both trad and white
Pre Wedding pics
Pics of us in the UK
Hubby's bachelor's, masters and PhD certificates
Marriage certificate
Change of name doc and public notice
Wedding invitation both trad and white
Bank statements showing I can sustain myself
My own masters and bachelor's degree.

Note: we want for the kill this time around due to previous errors on our part. Goodluck to all.

NNB: If you want to marry someone who is based abroad, make sure you settle visa issues first because the distance is killing. Wouldn't wish the agony I want through for the last 6 months on even my enemy.

Thanks all again

Please @ Justwise, I really need your assistance. I was refused dependent visa for tier 4 doctoral extension scheme. This is the second time I am refused visa. This last one was really disappointing.

Husband and I got married in December 2016 but have been dating since 2011. Gone to visit him 3 times and was granted visiting visa 3 times.

First refusal was based on insufficient maintenance far and just this last one was based on tuberculosis test and the fact that we didn't submit communication chats of emails. We are actually weak as we have spent to much money just for this.

My issue now is we want to make a fresh application, please anyone who has gone to join thier spouse on tier 4 doctoral extension scheme should let me know the documents to submit. Both relevant and irrelevant. We want to get it right this time as we didn't know that I had to do tuberculosis. I will really appreciate everyone's inputs.

I didnt use priority just standard. When does the processing start? When they receive it or when tls send it? Thanks
