Hello guys, I need your help urgently. I applied to join my husband in the UK. He's on a tier 4 doctoral extension scheme. I applied on June 15 and received confirmation from tls the same date and that my application has been transferred. Then on June 27, I received another email from Sheffield that they just received my application and an officer will now process it.

I have applied several times for visiting visa to see him and I usuall receive the Sheffield email on the same day or next. Now my worry is that, when will the processing timeline start? The day the application was transferred or the day Sheffield received it? Their processing timeline is 3 weeks. Please I need your help. Thanks

I need your help urgently. I am going for a summer school programme in Budapest. I was there for my Masters degree in 2013/2014, but then, our visas were issued by the consulate in Kenya who then sent our passports via courier. I understand that this process has changed and the Nigerian embassy in Abuja is now issuing visa. I would like to know the process for submission. Do I go to Abuja with my required documents and submit or I need to book an appointment first. If I need to, please where is the website. Generally, I need a guideline on how to apply for a business short stay visa.

By payment via GTB do you mean payment using a GTBank debit card? Since the amount has been put in lien then there's a likelihood that it will be reversed in about 48 hours however you should still file a dispense error complaint with the bank

Yes I used my GTB Card. I have called GTB and they said that it was approved but UK Visa has sent me email to say transaction declined.

Please I applied for the UK Visitors visa online and made a payment via GTB. I was sent a message from the uk office that my transaction was declined/unsuccessful yet GTB has debited my account. I called GTB and I was told that the merchant (UK Visa) has put a lien on the amount. So basically, my account has been debited yet the visa office has sent me a mail that the payment was unsuccessful. I don't have a number for the UK visa office in Lagos but I have sent them a mail. The only number I saw online costs 1.80 pounds per minute to make the call. Please what do I do.

I think you should go back to Luther now that you have enough funds. They will make a diagnosis and if they can't, then they would refer you. This is not the time to be running helter skelter. I still called a friend of mine that works in another embassy and he keeps telling me to reschedule that it's unlikely they work on Saturdays but the program I am going for has a deadline. It was the first team gold for the U.S. since the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta.



I wish I could say that Diggins and I simply gloried in Douglas' inspiring accomplishments, but unfortunately we spent a lot of time talking about Douglas' hair.



That's because too many people took to Twitter and Facebook -- and sadly, many of them were African-American women -- to denigrate Douglas because her hairdo apparently wasn't up to some people's standards.



"It's sad," Diggins said, shaking her head.



Instead of basking in the fact that Douglas became the first African-American woman to win the individual all-around competition, people on social media were making jokes about how this 16-year-old phenom was in need of a perm or, at the very least, a more kempt ponytail.

Social media critics, who have taken issue with Gabby Douglas' hair, have somewhat lessened her triumph.

"It makes me absolutely sick to see these comments about Gabby's hair," said Swin Cash, the decorated Team USA forward who is in London for her third Olympics. Thankfully, the number of people who understood what Douglas accomplished outweighed those who attempted to channel the ghost of Madame CJ Walker -- the black woman who became the first self-made female millionaire by selling beauty products for African-American women. Douglas was congratulated by, among others, Serena Williams and former gymnast Dominique Dawes who, before Douglas, was the only African-American woman to have earned a gold medal in gymnastics. Dawes cried as she tried to put Douglas' accomplishment into perspective.



There's no question that African-American hair often can be a taboo subject. Comedian Chris Rock was criticized for his 2009 documentary "Good Hair," which I considered to be a thought-provoking look at the billion-dollar black hair industry.



Some black women didn't feel that way. They were upset with Rock because they believed he made African-American women look shallow, since he chronicled how many of them -- and I've done the same -- spend hundreds, and even thousands, on their hair.



The biggest downside to the hair obsession is the negative impact it may have on black women's health. Some may skip working out to avoid messing up their styled hair. Dr. Regina M. Benjamin, the U.S. Surgeon General and a black woman, chastised other black women at the famous Bronner Bros. International Hair Show last August in Atlanta for forsaking exercise to maintain their hair. Benjamin said 50 percent of black women over the age of 20 are overweight or obese, compared with 33 percent of white women and 43 percent of Hispanic women.

I do understand why so many black women are sensitive about their hair. I wore braids for years, but more than a year ago, I decided to give them up, in part, because I feared that it would prevent me from advancing in my television career.



When shock jock Don Imus launched an unfair attack on the Rutgers women's basketball team, he pointed out that they were "nappy-headed ho's."



But as hurtful as those comments were, some of us just proved with Douglas that we're capable of being as nasty and thoughtless as Imus.



For all of Douglas' critics, I wonder what their hair looked like at 16? When I was Douglas' age, my mother was still giving me home perms. I'm lucky to still have a scalp.



While I wouldn't go as far as to say that Douglas' extraordinary Olympic moment was completely undermined by the criticism of hair, the social media blowhards have certainly distracted attention from Douglas' triumph.



Shame on them.

Have you ever wonder why there is so many church and mosque in the nation? just ask yourselves if is normal? all this are preventing an average Nigerian to think twice and do something to help themselves instead we are waiting for miracle passing by. A better Nigerian can only be archived when the people are ready to embrace it. Awareness has been in place for a long time now and nothing has been done to put it into action. The Nigerians ranting on the live broadcast will still go ahead to do the same harm the previous government has done to move the country down into a pit just because of their greediness.

My country is corrupt in every firm of life that it takes only ourselves to find a solution to this not what al jazeera are doing because I personally don't support any media move be it local or international on Nigerians problem again because it has not yield any result despite all the awareness. Before you speak nonsense let you and I think of how we can be able to see our selves as one lets build a one Nigeria and see if there will not be progress in the country, then we will be able to stand in one voice one heart and put an end into this current government and economic situation. Look at the issue of boko haram some people are happy is only happen in the northern part of the country, some say they don't care as long as it doesn't come to the east/west .
