4llerbuntu: NB: At the time this became an alternative path for them was about 2-3yrs ago. between that time and now, They have not sold as much as HTC have to put it in perspective. it probably didn’t sound a compelling argument then, but lets face it, the writing was on the wall. they refused to acknowledge it.
Its not restricted to the company though, even the fanboys could not see beyond their noses. as at 6 months ago, they were still engaging in flame wars on NL arguing that a Bold 3 was better than a SGS 2. funny how Techno has magically made all those arguments disappear.
I wonder when they will realise they should make their email service a PAID service accessible outside BB devices for companies and individuals. Quite a lot of people will pay for BB quality email support for now. in the next 1 yr, it probably will not be relevant again.
and now BBM is accessible elsewhere, i fully expect them to shut down device production in 2 yrs. They should sha allow us build a BBM App for Ubuntu Touch!
MAKE DEM DO QUICK RELEASE AM, E BEEN GET SOME SMALLIES I DEY TARGET, NA ONLY THE CURVE 2 DEM MAMA BUY DEM DEM GET, AND THEY TOO MUMU TO INSTALL WHATSAPP!!
BTW thats my next big prediction. bookmark it. In the next 2 years alternatives like Ubuntu Touch, sailfish (especially Ubuntu Touch) will cannibalize Android and totally kill stuff like BB's
especially because the corporate world will rather prefer to take the Ubuntu Touch Source and dev up a hardened closed version for their mobile devices well said. but 2 years though.3 - 4 perhaps |

4llerbuntu: of course.
not as to using the hardware but as to if the game will even run or run properly.
wine is a hit or miss thing.
u may try. but don't raise your hopes.
but I'm quite sure running under wine uses the hardware fully. just saw they have a list of tested games on their site. no new titles there though. |

texazzpete: It's everywhere by now, I guess. I got mine from a retailer in PHC for 105k.
Affordables and Slot have got it now.
Crazy thing is, Affordables sells the Galaxy S4 for 105k, but their solitary HTC One is on sale for 129k. I expect that price to be slashed sharply
Poor Sony...nobody wants to buy the Xperia Z anymore. and more expensive at that |
Computers › Re: Ubuntu Linux by ciphoenix: 6:53pm On May 07, 2013 |
4llerbuntu: it should.
preferably a 64bit os, and 64 bit virtualbox install
check the video memory slider in the VM settings. it should show how much VGA memory muscle u can give the VM OS
also under system enable IO APIC and use the multiple processors
as far as i know on well specced systems, you wont even know that the OS is running in a VM.
saw someone running Snow Leopard once, full screen seamless mode. it was flawless muyiscoi: As for the gaming stuff, i'm not so sure it will work that way. I know most newer laptops support hardware virtualisation but I dont know if that translates to the GPUs also. On Virtualbox, you can enable 3D graphics acceleration for the guest OS but the memory is restricted to a max of 128mb. That wouldnt really work well for high graphics games. would there be any compromises if i were to use WINE? |

4llerbuntu: Bros, a Good Note Battery does screen on time of 5 hrs or more.
The screen is a very bright LARGE 5.3 Amoled. it cannot have the same battery life as a 3.7 inch screen.
without Screen On, it does a full 24 hrs Plus with no problem.
Your usage pattern is worth looking at. do not expect to stare at the screen playing games for 10 hrs.
That said. Flash a Custom Kernel. this kernel download link http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1929520&d=1367482953 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2252977
Then turn down your screen brightness.
if your phone still drains battery even when the screen is off, there is one or two apps on it which is the cause. find out which one and uninstall.
(install CPU SPY) and let your phone be for a while, maybe like overnight and check the stats. you should have Deep Sleep close to 85% or more. if its not deep sleeping when idle, you have some rogue apps
and just in case u think this is limited to your Note, you are very wrong. it applies to every decent phone u can buy out there. thats why pple ask OEMs to increase battery capacity. Smart Phones are not there yet in battery life.
if the above is ok and your battery still does not last, buy a new battery. Phone batteries die too My note2's battery lasts 12 hours longer with airtel than mtn. Crazy network over here I tell ya. Even on standby with screen turned off, it happens. Heats up and loses 50% in less than 4 hours. Today has been good sha. |
