most of your comments about Ika area is from the fictitious book by Iduwe though you some times add sugar to it. For example your comment about Igue been from Agbor celebration of the sky God by Nri priest Agbor. Though he didn't mention any sky God or Nri in his book (you added that and I've seen many other Igbo people try to ascribe Nri origin to Igue because Iduwes book ), his version is not the correct origin of Igue festival in Ika land. He also tried to give Agbor origin to the Igbo cardinals but you ignored that.

OK. You as an Igbo man, do you agree that the Igbo market days are from Agbor? I know you don't know Ika history but this man rewrote the history of every other Ika Kingdom to come from Agbor which is very laughable. Many of the things he wrote are fictitious. This alone discredits all his work. Onwuatuegwu greatly influenced that book. Only Ika people will understand what I'm talking about. This has nothing to do with Bini or anything.

Means nothing, when we know that there are long list of Ugbodu kings with strictly Bini names, when Bini still had influence over Enu-ani area.
Igbanke is still currently under Edo and hence under lots of influence from Edo, hence those Edoid names.

The word for king in Igbanke local dialect is Eze, and not Enogie, Enogie is a vestige of Bini colonial influence on Igbanke.
do you know the history of Ugbodu? These people are from Owo area of Ondo state before the advent of Oduduwa. They are more related to the Edos than they are related to Oyo and Ife. They sojourned in Bini before moving Eastward to their present location.

Don't be so fast bro grin
Most of the cultural practices in Edo and igala were initiated by Nri. Here are some examples
1]the four day week that corresponds to cardinality was initiated by Nri. These days afo, eke, orie, nkwo also exist in igala and Benin and are practiced by them till this day!
2]the Igue(Igwe in Igbo) festival that honors the sky was initiated by Nri priests who lived at agbor. Every dick and harry knows that the Igbo for sky is IGWĒ cheesy
3]the new yam festival is celebrated across Igboland, and other parts of the South originated in Nri
4]as a priestly caste Nri was responsible for the purging of abominations and taboos all across Igboland, Idu and Igalaland..I even heard their influence extended to the Ijo(rukwo in Igbo) people

So you can see it was both ways...Nri saw that no matter the political situation of the times, the spirituality of all the nations in the SE/SS never faltered
where did you get it that an Nri priest lived at Agbor? Even as biased as Iduwe's book is, there was no where he mentioned Nri when you was talking about Igweh. Same Iduwe wrote that Eken, Orie, Afor and Nkwor are of Agbor origin and not Nri. You see the kind of book you people advise someone that wants to learn correct history to read?

This submission of yours makes me understand you don't know the difference btwn language and dialect. See Igboland has five cultural zones and terminologies shared btwn members of a cultural zone are almost the same.
Using the term for lineage as example, there are at least three variations of it used across Igboland and they're Agbò, Agburu(Agbru) and Agbu. It all depends on what your cultural area uses.
Another is the term for house...the northerners and some westerners use "uno" to express their own, the central areas(isuama) use "ulo", the southerners especially the owerre, the ikwerre use "oro"(I also heard ikas use "olo" too) while the easterners use "uhu"(some southerners also use uhu too)
Another example is the term for thing...northerners and westerners use "ife" to express their own, the central areas use "ihe" which is the same as standard Igbo while the southerners especially the Ngwa and Ikwerre use "he" to express their own while the easterners use "ive" to express theirs.
I can go on and on but I want you to understand the drift..which is that Ika is a dialect of Igbo just as ikwerre is or Aro or Izi or Ubani. These are all dialects of Igbo so you can't expect their terminologies to be the same but every other marker used to mark a language shows that ika is Igbo.
you are very contradictory. In one of your posts you said Agburu is the word for lineage in Igbo but Agbor in Anioma and the other post you said Agbo is lineage all over Igbo land as against the Binis Agbon. Do you even know what you're talking about?

Don't drag me into the gutter of ignorance you're currently residing in biko angry go and ask the dein why he said that don't ask me.
Now coming to Agbon...I don't speak Bini but am glad you said it yourself that Agbon is the Bini for lineage, and anyone who's a linguist who know that there's a relationship btwm Agbon and Agbo. All the Igbos from igbanke down to the whole Anioma even across the river to Anambra and parts of Imo and Rivers use Agbo as their term for lineage.
Igbo as a language unlike Bini and Yoruba doesn't have nasalized vowels.. They were removed in 1962 when written Igbo was standardized. That was the compromise southern and western Igbos gave in exchange of their dialects being adopted as the basis for standard Igbo.
If that nasalization was retained, Igbo would still be spelling lineage as Agbon instead of the Agbo we use now.
Like I told gerg, you too need to expand your horizon and stop looking ignorant undecided
in your post you said Agburu is the Igbo word for lineage. In Ika lineage is Agbon and not Agburu

Its a Federal govt project so whether its cooked up or not,the onus lies on the Federal govt not me
it was not a federal government project. The article and interview was cooked up. Dein of Agbor wasn't interviewed and everything in that document was cooked up. In that document, there was a place they said Agbor was founded by a man called Omini from Aguleri and that Omini loved travelling so they named Agbor Omini na nor Uzor ije and the British corrupted it to Ominijie whereby Ominijie is a full Ika/Bini word /name.

Lineage is called "Ebo" in Enu-ani.
where are you from Vicenzo? An Anioma man said lineage is Agbon in his language and you're trying to correct him. Ebon is not lineage but kindred or kinsmen or family. Agbon and Ebon means different things. Like in Ika area we have Ebon which is a group of people from the same extended family.

There are different variants of Agbor origin. The ogele version , the Ominijie version and the Agbon version. They are all correct. These migrations happened at different times and the Agbon's was the most recent of them all.

At times I wonder why he's arguing blindly... An ika elder by name Chief iduuwe wrote a book on the history of agbor where he claimed that the town was founded by one ogele like that around 700BC...even as recently as may 2015,during an interview with the Niger Delta budget monitoring group, the Dein of Agbor gave a little tip on the etymology and origin of agbor. It was from that interview that I got to know that Agbor is the Igbo for lineage which in Anioma is pronounced as "Agbò" while other Igbos call it Agburu.
Instead of him to go and read up on Agbor or should I say ika history, he's here arguing blindly
Another nonsense you just spewed. There is nothing like Niger Delta Budget Monitoring Group that interviewed the Dein of Agbor. I came across this your so called interview and I was surprised by everything I saw there. On digging deep I discovered that it was all cooked up. There is no limit you people can't get to make Ika look more Igbo . Sometimes I wonder how a people can be like this. It was in this same same interview they tried to give an Igbo meaning to Ominijie, a full Bini word. Even Agbon is a full Bini word and it has the same meaning in Ika

Guy, where is your information coming from? I have a detailed account of the Ubulu-Ukwu war with Idu and the military commanders that fought on both sides. The other towns in Ubulu clan (Ubulu-Unor and Ubulu-Okiti) did not send re-enforcements to Ubulu-Ukwu, not to talk of the whole of Anioma.
Don't mind this impostor. No Anioma person would ever say most of the things I see in his comments. I'm not surprised at all. This same guy was the one saying how Bini city was ruled by Igbo kings called ogisos and Ile Ife was ruled by Igbo kings called ogene. If this people can go as far as claiming Bini and Ile Ife, why wouldn't they claim Anioma that's a stone throw from them? Continue. Nobody is taking you serious anymore.

I likened the situation of the Igbos living under the Benin Empire's to that of Nigerians under the British Empire i.e. living under an empire doesn't equate to a shared ethnicity, which you disagreed with so I asked you what Eze Chima's Bini name was seeing as you implied that you disagreed with the notion that he wasn't a Bini man. If you didn't mean that then I was mistaken and I apologise but your point was a bit confusing considering the way you responded to that post.
his real name is Ikhime. There are many versions of the history concerning how the name evolved to Ezechime. I've heard many versions of this story but the real truth is that his name was never Ezechime. It's a corrupt form.

By this premise you now agree that Igbos lived in Benin city..kos if they were Bini, at least their names would've showed it just as the name of the founder of the ishans show he's originally Bini.
Moreover they're Igboid not Edoid... No body in Anioma is Edoid
The names of all the founders of Bini founded Anioma Kingdoms are Edoid. Only one that sounds Igboid is Ezechime. Ezechime was originally Ikhime but was corrupted to Ezechime.

The founders can be from anywhere bro...what matters is the identity of the person and the identities show they're all Igbo, from Ezechima of the Onicha group to Ezemu of the Ubulus to the Ogeles of Agbò
Moreover history has it that before ewuare's reign in 1440, Igbos made up of half of Benin's population but by the end of his rule in 1473, the Igbo population had fled East resulting in the collapse of Ogidi kingdom that was ruling over Anioma then. These newcomers then established new statelets thereby introducing Bini political systems to these areas.
If they were Bini like you claim, what happened to the most important part of their identity which is Bini language?
Many groups in the North of Nigeria are fast losing their language to Hausa including the almighty Fulani. Some parts of Edo speak Yoruba as a second language and bear Yoruba names but they have nothing to do with Yoruba (Etsako, Ighara), many non Igbo minority groups in Bayelsa and rivers speak Igbo and their language; some of these places are fast losing their language and speaking only Igboid languages. Do you think it's difficult for a language like Igbo to influence the language of minority groups around them? Check Anioma languages and culture, you'll notice that the important Bini words that has to do with tradition and culture are still retained.

ogidi was ruling over Anioma? You people are very funny.

The natives are more confused about their history than online details.
Ask the natives, they will easily tell you that they are from Benin, But I know it;s a big fallacy.
The natives have memory of their true history have been affected by the virus of the depression from prolonged slavery by the conquering expansionist Binis.

The will not do research, only relying on folktales, it is same confusion everywhere in Africa; binis say yoruba came from benin, youruba say binis came from yoruba. fulanis say they are arabs, igbos say they Jews.

The Issele-uku and environs are igbos that were conquered and ruled by the binis. Yes, some families in that region are from benin, but majority of them are igbos. I learnt one thing from the nairaland tribal war between the BROWN-ROOFS AND THE FLAT-HEADS; the yorubas in nairaland made know that some igbo women have bears and I have also seen it among issele-uku women.
Who is more confused? The Aniomas that say they're from Bini or the Igbos that think they're Jewish because they're Christians. Igbos don't seize to amuse me
