Gentlemen, remember those when were using nokia symbian phones and you could just connect to the net with ease and only when u want. Well for me, droid wall with a combo of netquins firewall and app quarantee did that. Now i leave my network ticked on all day with out fear of anything connecting in the back ground. I used dis lor a day and monitored my progress via 3g watchdog and glo info and found it to be effective. A must remember for most, turn off background syncing in ur accounts and sunc menu. Also tick only what u want to connect on droid wall. For me its operamini, imo, download engine, netquins.None of the other apps including facebook and the notorious twitter can connect.

That she‘s a citizen makes it a whole lot more easier. From what i can gather, she only has to state that she‘s inviting you and indicate that she will be organising a work permit for you there. Or that she can fend for you.Her income is not a major issue, except she‘s not the one handling the for you. |
From the little i know bout aussie from a friend who went there in 08. She has to finance your coming over there. Also it does not depend on how much she makes over there or how much you make here,as long as you can show evidence that you work here and that.you can sponsor you trip there or she can sponsor it, its ok by them. For you coming she will apply for a student guardian visa or as a spouse if your married(need to show legal documents for this). Once your there, she can apply for a work permit for you, heard it takes 28days to 2 months to get one. Funny thing bout aussies is that the allow for people under the student visa(assessment level for people doing masters) to work and also work on for 2 years after their programme is complete. Though u have to get a letter from you school and place of work there. One more thing, their fee for this kind of visa is a bit on the high side,so get ready to doul out if your interested in it. |

if your on froyo or ginger bread get gingerbreak app and install it. it will root ur phone and ask you to allow superuser. If ur on anything higher than froyo or ginger bread, google how to root ur phone. |
@yamakuza, the strike i speak is the one in nigeria. Dear we don‘t use coupons in nigeria andmost food stuff are still bought by going to your area market. |
First off sir whats ur basic interest. As in you as a person, what do you like to do as a habit or hobby, do other people like it,then if yes then thats a business. Or look around your area for things to supply, there most be a company making bread or a mini industry that is around you. Look for some you feel they might need and then ask if you can supply them. Or personally ask them what they and find out from their answers what they will need. Someone once told me everybody needs one thing or the other, find that one thing and the other that they need and give it to them for a fee. |
Hello House. Name‘s Cj. Basically i‘ve been watching the trends of thing i. the country since th annonced the removal of fuel subsidy and from what i‘ve seen i have been able to develop a trend i feel will start to happen as prices of products will adjust to suit the new pump price. Already we are seeing raises in basic amenities like what an food, rhat tells me a lot on whats to come. It also tells me there are opportunities within this new situation to not only help make things easy for the average nigerian, eg me. But opportunities for the average business man as well. Consider the now expensive bag of pure water. Does really have to be expensive or can‘t ways be found to reduce the content but still provide it at the same price as before, eg small satchets. Or the basic food ingrediebts like tomatoes, onion, pepper, soup ingredients, egusi, vegetable and palm oil. Can‘t the be sold in half satchets or a litre of palm oil or veg oil in a sealed small purewate nylon. Equsi grounded in a mini gino tin, a blend of tomatoes and pepper in a satchet. Because current trend might dictate that some or most nigerians might go for more compact readly available meals or cheap food ingredient with a bit more quantity. I‘m just bearing my mind on what i feel might be the trend. If i sound wrong please let me know else i continue put forward more trends to follow for businesses worth looking into. |
Ladies and gents, problem solved. So i did a little scouting and came up on this app called droid wall. Niffty little thing of just 311kb but it sees all ur system apps and installed apps. Download it from the market and install. Once thats done, just tick the apps u want to connect, save the rule and enablr the firewall. Nothing else will connect aside what u ticked to connect. Try it out gents.
|
The system apps still consume some.bandwidth, particularly bluetooth system and dialer.but with the facebook, twitter and market ticked off on the firewall, you save one on bandwidth as this three tend to connect alot for no reason. But i‘m beginning to find out, that its all about the firewall one is using and whether it can see and control the connection of system apps. let me try some firewall apps and see if anything useful comes from it. |
For people with bandwidth issues check out this post www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-846549.0.html#msg9969251 And hey i wanna sell my LG OPTIMUS ME P350 PECAN. specs 2.3 ghz but running on froyo. 2gb external sd. 159mb internal 3.0mp camera. radio rooted and one month old. asking price 30k negotiable. |
We will look at how to solve and control bandwidth usage on an android phone. First off if you have an antivirus app that has a firewall built into it,like Netquins or Norton then ur off to a good start. If you don‘t have such apps go get em. I got Netquins. Now open the app to the network admin option or tab then click the firewall tab. Next you will a list of apps on ur phone or tablet that connect to the network using wifi or 2G, 3G. Tip off the apps u don‘t want connecting to the net without ur permission. Once thats done, save then exit and head to you phone settings the to accounts and sync. When that opens tip off auto syncing and background syncing. Once thats done, just live ur 3G or 2G network active for about 2hours and.check you bandwidth usage after then. Oh the joy. Was looking up on some of the wall papers for android and i stumbled ontop something called live wallpapers, more like an amimated wallpaper that works as u work with your phone. One thing lead to another and bada boom i‘ve dowloaded 7 live wallpapers that are making me have the aah moment. One of them i got is a wallpaper of a live aquarium thats making me gurlfriend go gaga just trying to catch and scare the fishes(honey can have my phone back, its my turn). Well gents, i‘m still waiting up on you lad, don‘t keep a guy hanging. |
Some time soon in a galaxy near near as home, the android craze caught on and became infectious.(Don‘t mind my star war intro. catchy right) So the droid is in and bb and nokia are on their way some where. I personally want to pass the zen type enlightenment and inner peace to those who don‘t why people feel so pump and up about android and its bells and whistles. So with the help fellow nairalanders on the phone sector and the growing fellowship of the droid, lets pass some enlightenment to those who don‘t get it. Lets start of with the apps on a droid (any android phone or pad) then we go to the games. I just got my droid, a niffty little LG P350(small, i know, but niffty). First i downloaded from the market was fileexpert then a gingerbread break i got from my bro(a fellow droid evil genius) the an app called move2sd,to move my installed apps to my memorycard. Now i‘m looking for other apps worth downloading. Now could my fellow fellows be good lads as to recommend which apps to get and .WHAT THEIR TOP TEN APPS MOST LIKED, that they got that others can tryout. Thanks, looking forward to ur replies. Oh and pics of the apps would be much welcomed. |

imagine buying a recharge card and being told that its a wrong pin code. You call their customer care and ur told u got to wait 12hours before u can reload or call. Thats wat i just went thru, said to pass the info out on what i heard from their customer care. The recharge cards with the serial numbers begining with 891 or 781 can't be loaded. I asked then why produce them if the can't be loaded, they say its an error on their part. In essence we as the users don't need to know that there are bogus cards produced by glo,so we should just buy them and then find out ourselves that their cards have issues. Pure dumb. So if anyone has experienced the same, or not. Pass the word.
