Ok gent,i want to ask what the cheapest mobile messenger is for s40 or symbian phones. I mean the messenger that does not practically drink your credit. I've used ebuddy(credit drinker),trutap(managable, but don't try to upload pic),mig33(as the 33 emplies, total drunk),shmessenger(no facebook)and yamee(still no facebook). And a couple of others getjar chat apps, that are all a bunch of heavy credit drinkers. I did prefer morange(paystar)but since they started charging to register, count me out. So i ask, please if anyone has tried any messenger app,(that includes facebook) that is cheap on your chips and can give one confidence that once u end your chat,u can still make a call with wats left. |
Ok,so the lad talking is new to web dev, last week my general area or contempt was php, but i just had to try and make sure i understood and could do basic or advanced designs in fireworks and flash before i oil dreamweaver on the php angle. So i finished on fireworks and now i'm on flash. Now i have to say i understand y Naija dev peeps like flash, man its fun to work with, helps create so crazy concepts, and its output swf is so light weight. So i started out with the help section my my flash 8 and just finished the tutorials there, now i started seeking more advanced types of flash graphics concepts. So i hit the google(oracle) and ask ever so humbly and i get some flash tutorials that seem childish. Until i come up on one site, http://flashfridge.com and another of my personal favourites http://tutorialized.com the flash fridge is got some concepts and as3 scripts on animation and texts effects. But if u r looking to up your game and actual create a flash game, flash project or an interactive media. Hit tutorialized, the fun part is how the teach even the most advanced flash tutorials like teaching it to a kid. |

Yes oh my oga's in the house, una talk true oh! One mind say make i try php on iis,the thing do me like one of my oga's talk 'literally wanted to reap my hairs out and strangle iis(couldn't get at it)'. So i jeje go my wamp home base. Cos as oyibo talk 'the easier way to the answer is better than the long route'. But unto my other oga way de use am with iis,u go fit throw way the explaination, tutorial or a howto link for us way de tunnel without lantern,so that we go fit learn commot the tunnel. |
My brother, thank you. Yes oh,my people na true talk way ein talk. I go continue so ta if i jam rock,i go find where i go go training. But as plenty php and web development chairman full house,me self go the throw way salute plus also ask them say make them put hand help me way be jjc for php LAGOS. But as oyibo the talk 'your right one needs experience'. Wetin i go talk be say man pikin(myself) go try go find am add to the ta chere way i get. So dat me self fit be like the php oga's way de php LAGOS. Thank you, lol. |
Ladies and gentleman, thank you thank you. Your ll too kind. The php pages have started behaving well,i had already laid out the cane to flog them, if they didn't work. But alas the work. Though i don't understand most of wat's on the control panel for wamp, but i'll sit down and learn em. Any other problem,i'll let the lads in the house know. Also, some one was of the impression that i should learn the sql factor before i jump into php. What do u think lads, cos i see a lot of sql jibberish and options,in wamp that i don't know about. Should i,or should i just plow into php with my trailer at fuller speed. |
i am at the cafe now, and thanks i heard him so i,m downloading the wamp and xampp(though i had to change my ip to a Us one to download it,cos i noticed that when i try to open source forge.net on our local systems it just takes too long.) So i just finished downloading it now and will install it when i get home(fingers crossed),will let you know the out come. |
Thanks mates. When i think back to the 40k i almost paid to learn all this stuff, and the wise words i got from some design and development friend i got around. I just thank them for the wise words and the points to the right step. Oh plus a saved 40k(if only i knew where that money went cos now i need am bad bad lol) |
Thanks mates. I found out i was being a bit of an idi-o. I didn't know that apart from the phpmyadmin zip,i needed to first download and install the php installer first. After reading the tutorial on installing a web server on dreamweavers help section,i now found out what i gotta do. Another session at the cafe for that one. I also found that a standard windows xp service pack 2(which i'm using)comes standard with iis installed into the system. Cos i got the inetpub folder and the wwwroot. Folder. Enter new problem- i saved a html file into the wwwroot. Folder but it does not open on my web browsers as (http://localhost/myfile.html) but will open if i open it from the folder with my web browser. I also noticed Apache 2.2 telling me the same thing when i try to start Apache console 'could not resolve domain something something, for or to 127.0.0.1.' though i still plan on downloading iis,php msi plus the wamp and or xampp. Still is there any thing extra i need to know or get before i progress further so that (as facebook says it)i don't hit another block. |
Ok i'm totally new to php,i'm just a web designer a bit of knowledge in javascript. So for in all through my learning process,i've been writing my code on notepad or dreamweaver and executing on my web browser. But alas, come in Php and i find i need to have a web server installed. So off to the cafe i go,to download Apache and abyss webservers.(to download iis tomorrow). After its downloaded and installed,my codes still don't work,ok lacking php,so back to the cafe again to download phpmyadmin from php.net,i come back and follow the procedures in its documentation in installing it on a web server(my choice being abyss x1,cos Apache keeps giving me and error when trying to configure it-the twits forgot to add a howto or any documentation on its usage."). Still no show, worst,on the abyss web server,i put the phpmyadmin folder into the server root folder and my httpdoc folder but still no prompt for user or password as specified when u rewrite the config.inc file and open index.php. Worst still,my first php code does not display on my browser or on the design view for dreamweaver. At this point,i'm as confused as i might have also ended up in confusing some of u viewing this. So if any out there understands what i wrote and can please explain what the best procedure, tools or webservers to use in working and learning php on a local pc,please explain. Thanks. |
I'm a 2 and a half month home grow and home schooled web designer. With a high interest in getting into web dev. I started by hitting google with my questions and downloading web pages on any and all tutorials i needed from photoshop,to marcomedia suite, from html to php. Basic and advanced tutorials. And for two months i have been at it day in day out, developing myself,ok also being mentored by two other web developer friends of mine. So now those two months have given me a myriad of insight to design, now i want to pass the info and tutorials i've learnt out to people who might need it. For knowledge in writing and understanding the codes from html to php. Check http://www.w3school.com ps before you go there, look at http://www.landofcode.com. This will look at the basics and run the teaching from scratch, like a baby learning to walk, will w3 will put it to you like niit. Now once your done with the way of the code. Check out http://www.tutorialised.com its either an s or z. This will start u up in the way of the design. Pick photoshop, fireworks, flash or just pick cs4 which ever is your design preference. This site will teach u to design like teaching a kid to walk, one step at a time. Its tutorials are not only fun to do,but tech to create. If you can learn to create some of their amazing arts and also learn to created the using other graphic softwares, then u have achieved something. For me i'm still on the site learning and using fireworks to create the graphics on the tutorials for photoshop. |
Do you want to learn web design. What if someone offered to work you through the process,as in one on one,a home tutor as against a classroom learning. And would you want to learn,if the basics are offered for free. Let me see you comments. |

As you will guess, for those of you who had trouble with you Microsoft vista operating system, that came with your laptop. Then you had to format the system and are now usins xp. But still wanted to get back to vista, but ooh, when you installed vista again you found out that you could not update any more. well hope this will help you as it has helped me The simple answer to that problem is, When you are installing vista on the laptop and it prompts you for a key,Instead of using the key on the pirated version you got from computer villa. close you laptop and turn it upside. there should be a microsoft seal there.copy whats there and type it into the product key radio box. p.s theis also applies to those of you using xp and windows me on their laptops. |
