A national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged Nigerians to ignore continuous talk about President Muhammadu Buhari’s health. Tinubu said, instead of complaining about the President’s health, Nigerians should look at the things that Buhari has done better for Nigeria in the last two years since taking over office. The NNation reports that the APC leader made these submissions in a press statement released on Sunday, May 7, just shortly before President Buhari departed Nigeria for another medical trip to the United Kingdom. Tinubu says President Buhari is doing just fine economically and those who care about him should stop talking about his health The statement read: “Nigeria is a place of numerous challenges and the home of vast human potentials. Our greatest challenge has always been how to best direct our vast potentials so that we overcome the challenges that plague us. “This cardinal challenge is why the APC was formed and why the party presented then General Muhammadu Buhari as its standard bearer. The people rightly chose him as their president, believing he was the best person to make Nigeria into a better nation. “His electoral victory was historic. More importantly, like most Nigerians, I believed his presidency represented a historic mission to right many of our nation’s wrongs. I still believe so. “The previous administration treated Boko Haram softly, appearing to view the terrorists as part of their political equation rather than a lethal threat to national security. President Buhari has gone after Boko Haram without condition and without fear. He has pushed them back, saving lives and giving northern Nigeria a chance to breathe again the air of peace and normalcy. “My recent visit to Borno State to inaugurate projects opened my eyes to the progress President Buhari has made in the anti-terror war. An enabling environment has been created for Governor Kashim Shettima who has taken advantage of the peaceful space to initiate laudable projects, such as the provision of housing for and rehabilitation of Boko Haram victims. “The previous administration treated corruption as its co-tenant in office. President Buhari has fought it with tenacity, equal to that with which he has confronted Boko Haram. “We currently face stiff economic challenges. This is neither President’s Buhari’s doing nor choosing. The steep decline in oil prices caused the downturn which exposed our nation’s long-time failure to plan ahead by diversifying our economic base. It has fallen on the Buhari government to fix the immediate problem while also diversifying our economy so that we will no longer be as vulnerable to the price of oil again. “His policies have begun to bear fruit. We are moving out of recession and toward the long-term reshaping of the national economy. Given the complex menu of problems he has faced, President Buhari has done well in a tough situation. Recommend: President Buhari leaves Nigeria to London Photos and confirmation of Press release While I seek not to diminish the hardship still faced by many of our people, we also must be cognisant of the important progress made these past two years. “President Buhari has moved us from the path of failure to a path where we have a fighting chance to realise a better nation. Had we stuck to the ways of the former administration, our present situation would be worse than untenable. “Those who publicly speculate about the issue of the President’s health must keep all of this in mind. Much is at stake. We owe a responsibility to be wise and circumspect in what is spoken into the public ear. “We voted for President Buhari because we trusted his ability to make decisions regarding complex issues of state. If we can trust him to handle difficult matters of governance, we can also trust him to make correct decisions regarding his personal health. The President Buhari I have come to know is an honest and responsible man and leader. “When he returned to Nigeria on March 10, he disclosed to the nation that he had been sick to the extent that he received blood transfusion and would leave for further treatment at some future date. He said he would follow the counsel of his doctors and there is every reason to believe that he has been true to their counsel. “Many people have openly speculated about the President’s health. Some have done so for their own selfish reasons. These people shall be found out in time. There are many who have done so out of sincere concern for the President. “These people should not be condemned for their heartfelt concern. However, they should be advised not to allow fear to ambush their better judgment and their courage. “They should not give themselves to idle speculation. We should not buy into the myth of some cabal at work. Dwelling in empty speculation on the existence of some mythic cabal is not what the country needs at present. From what I can see, the President remains at the helm and his policies are being implemented. Continue Reading: http://www.naijanewspapers.com.ng/2017/05/end-this-rumours-about-president.html |

Stephanie Otobo plead to Apostle Suleman as she gives her life to Christ – Says ‘Jesus died for my humiliation, pain, ugliness’ Stephanie has given her life to Christ according to her recent interview. The lady who recently accused the popular man of God, Apostle Suleman claimed in an interview with The Sun that her experience with the scandal has made her change her ways and she has let go of the past. We recalled that Otobo had recently made headlines when she revealed that she had an affair with the founder of Omega Fire Ministry, Apostle Johnson Suleman. Otobo who claimed that she never stripped insisted that ‘I don’t know why people claimed I did that. I was just an entertainer. When asked to clarify her statement, she said: “No, I wasn’t. My life currently is like a whole new experience. Whatever I had done or practised didn’t please God. I don’t do them anymore. I left them all behind in the pool of the drama with the man of God. Old things have passed away and this is a new me." Going further, who recently released a gospel song said she got her inspiration from her experience with Suleman scandal. “What really inspired me was my experience in jail in Nigeria. It was the fear and terror I lived through while in jail in Kirikiri prison. I live in Canada and if I was a thief, one day I would expect to go to jail. If I was a killer, one day I would expect to go to jail. I have never done anything that would make me think that I could ever go to jail. “So, going to jail in Nigeria was terror. I remember what my father came out to say some things about me then when I was in jail. Even though he couldn’t do anything to help me, knowing that I have his support meant everything to me. The experience in prison made me ask God for mercy and for His help to scale through. She also spoke about her understanding of God. “What I understand about God is that if you are in God, you don’t have the heart to do things that you ordinarily want to do to please your flesh. If you are in Christ, the Holy Spirit will tell you what to do and not you going to do that because you want to. Now, instead of me facing my old life on this man like I used to do, I have changed and I have to face God. “I see all these people insulting me and calling me names as still facing the man of God and treating him like God. I took him like God before but when I saw the truth that this man is not God but just a man that deceived me, hurt me and broke my heart, I had to face God. It is now that I have come to know God for myself. Speaking about her ability to cope with the stress of the recent scandal, Otobo said: “The word of God is my shield and buckler. Everything I have gone through have brought shame and disgrace to me and my family but I am better now because Jesus Christ died for them. I don’t have to hide myself anymore from the world. When I knew that Jesus died for my humiliation, my pain, my ugliness, I held onto to Him and He helped me. “It’s not about the money. If someone was about to die and I saved him or her, I would want the person to be appreciative. God has saved me and I knew how scared I was and wanted everything to end so I would be okay. When I was convinced that doing gospel was not good for me, I didn’t have much faith. Meanwhile, recall that We recently reported that Stephanie Otobo's 'Canada friend' exposed her after her current scandal with Pastor Suleman. The friend claimed that Otobo is a serial blackmailer and that she had acquired a negative reputation in Toronto. She also said Stephanie moved to Vancouver where she topped her game by joining so many dating sites.

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has announced that some goods are banned for exportation. Banned exported goods are prohibited by the government. Any attempt to smuggle them across the border will be deemed illegal. Most times, the policies are to promote the local production and sustain the small scale industry for growth. Naija Newspapers gathered that the following items have been prohibited for exports: 1. Maize 2. Timber (rough or sawn) 3. Raw hides and skin (including Wet Blue and all unfinished leather) 4. Scrap Metals 5. Unprocessed rubber latex and rubber lumps 6. Artifacts and Antiquities 7. Wildlife animals classified as endangered species and their products e.g. Crocodile; Elephant, Lizard, Eagle, Monkey, Zebra, Lion etc. 8. All goods imported In January 2017, there were at least 25 items banned from being imported into Nigeria. The list, circulated by the Finance Ministry includes soaps, spaghetti and used fridges. The ban on the items was put in place by the government in 2016, as part of yearly efforts to control import, but is still in place as no new one has been provided for 2017. Niniola speaks on being in a relationship and how that affects her career. Speaking with Saturday Beats, she says her career comes before any relationship, as she would not be with any man who dares ask her to choose between her music career or her relationship. “I am currently in a relationship and I am dating someone. I have been dating for a while now. It has been perfect coping with my career and relationship and I have had no problems whatsoever. My partner dare not tell me to choose between him and my career because he knows he would lose out,” she said. The ‘Ibadi’ singer also spoke on her latest music ‘Maradona’ and the story behind it. “My song ‘Maradona’ is partly from personal experience and I also pulled from other people’s experience. The song is about a player, a terrible womaniser and I likened him to Maradona’s football prowess. Men like different things and sometimes they go crazy in search of other things. It has happened to me and other women so I decided to sing about it. A lot of people can relate to it. During the time I dated a guy that cheated on me, I dealt with him when I found out. Although I broke the guy’s head in the video, I just walked out the guy in real life and said goodbye to the relationship. I always bade my friend farewell because if a friend could do that to you, then that person is not your friend,” she explained. |

Day 71 of the Big Brother Naija house FROM DAVIDO'S VISIT TO BISOLA AND TBOSS' BONDING MOMENT, CHECK OUT FIVE THINGS YOU PROBABLY MISSED ON DAY 71 OF BIG BROTHER NAIJA. 1. IT'S THE HOUSEMATES LAST WEEK IN THE HOUSE AND THE THEME FOR THE WEEK IS NOSTALGIA. BIGGIE TOOK THE HOUSEMATES DOWN MEMORY LANE WITH A CHALLENGE CALLED THE MEMORY BOX. THE HOUSEMATES WERE BLINDFOLDED AND HAD TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS INSIDE THE BOXES THAT WERE PLACED IN FRONT OF THEM. AT THE END OF THE GAME, BISOLA, DEBIE-RISE, EFE AND TBOSS EMERGED WINNERS. 2. WITH SUSHI AND CHAMPAGNE, DAVIDO PAID A VISIT TO THE HOUSEMATES. AFTER AN EXCHANGE OF HUGS AND A TOUR ROUND THE HOUSE, THE SINGER ADVISED THE HOUSEMATES. ACCORDING TO DAVIDO, IT WAS IMPERATIVE THAT THEY MAKE CAREFUL CHOICES AND NOT GET OVERWHELMED. "YOU MAKE ALL THESE PLANS AND THEN, WHEN THE MONEY COMES IT'S DIFFERENT. I SPENT $1 MILLION IN A MONTH," HE SAID. 3. TBOSS REACHED OUT TO BISOLA FOR A LITTLE GUIDANCE ON HOW TO HANDLE ANXIETY. DRAWING FROM HER OWN EXPERIENCES, BISOLA ADVISED TBOSS. "YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL AND SMART AND IT REALLY ANNOYS ME WHEN YOU PUT YOURSELF DOWN" BISOLA SAID. SHE ALSO ADVISED TBOSS TO FOCUS ON THE LOVE SHE RECEIVES AS THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO WOULDN'T LIKE HER NO MATTER WHAT SHE DOES. BISOLA HAS NO REGRETS ABOUT HER ACTIONS IN THE HOUSE. "I'VE DONE SH*T ON THIS SHOW THAT MY DAUGHTER SHOULD NOT SEE BECAUSE I'M A ROLE MODEL TO HER" SHE SAID. "BUT I HAVE NO REGRETS. I HAVE A LIVED IN THE BIG BROTHER NAIJA HOUSE." 4. DURING A DIARY SESSION, BISOLA TOLD BIGGIE THAT THEY ARE ALL WINNERS FOR MAKING IT TO THE LAST DAY. TBOSS SAID BEING IN THE HOUSE HAS MADE HER A FIGHTER AND SHE'D NEVER REALISED SHE HAD WHAT IT TAKES TO BE ONE. SHE ALSO SAID MARVIS WAS HER BIGGEST THREAT. DEBBIE-RISE SAID TBOSS IS HER MAIN COMPETITION BECAUSE "SHE'S AN AMAZING PERSON AND SHE HAS EVERYTHING IT TAKES TO WIN." EFE THINKS BISOLA IS HIS BIGGEST THREAT AS SHE HAS AS MUCH FIGHT AS HE DOES. 5. BISOLA SAID THE ONLY REGRET SHE HAS IN THE HOUSE IS JUDGING THE FORMER WITHOUT HEARING FROM HER. https://static.pulse.ng/img/incoming/origs6475099/4196363896-w644-h960/C8g-hKVXsAIDjPg.jpg |
