cutebear:I have sent a mail. Please respond whenever you can. Thanks. |
cutebear:Hello.....congratulations! Please, can I reach out regarding TCF? If yes, is the email messaging option on your profile ideal? Thanks in advance. |
donoz:Check your inbox. |
Dearra:Hello Dearra, It is safe to apply on AAU website. You might find my experience contained here useful https://www.nairaland.com/6829885/canadian-express-entry-federal-skilled/220#114160561 Reach out if you need clarity on any grey area. |
Theoboss:Check your mail. I sent a message. |
pyyxxaro:The NASU strike is a factor but AAU na AAU. Remember say the strike still dey on, even though Governor said otherwise. Approach the concerned office like say you dey seek favour. Make somebody no use you shine ![]() |
Vivickybliss:As promised when I responded to your inquiry earlier, and for reference purpose too. I will try to share as much detail as possible. I went to Ekpoma for my transcript application and would advise same for anyone. Except you have someone who you trust to do it for you, just as you would if you were present. I got the contact of someone in one of the offices at the new administrative building, from a friend who had just completed his application for transcript. On meeting the man, he asked me to make payment for the transcript application online. Something I could have done at home but chose not to, because I needed clarification on the particular payment to make. On Ambrose Alli University's alumni application portal, you will find (a) payment for transcript overseas and local (b) verification of result (WES) etc. You are to pay for transcript, overseas. ...currently at 12,200 not verification of result (WES). After I made payment online, I returned to the office and 'shook hands' with the connect. He promised to deliver in 3 days. That day, receipt from the online payment was verified OK by 2 offices. It was all going to plan until the man at exams and record was summoned by the school senate. This dragged my application to 13 working days. He called me when it was ready and gave me the contact of a DHL guy that works with AAU. According to what I was told, AAU accepts only DHL and that guy is the DHL representative at the school. Courier cost 20k Before the transcript was sent, I requested to get a picture and thank God I did. I noticed that my WES reference number on the envelope was wrong and address too. I quickly drew the attention of the connect who retrieved and rectified it. I used my tracking number to track document as it moved from one place to another. My heart skipped when I saw one Custom check bla bla. Lol Eventually, it got to WES on 28th of March. By this time, ASUU was already on strike but it had no effect since non academic staffs were the ones responsible for transcript processing. After two days, I wrote to WES via my profile to ensure they acknowledge receipt of the transcript. There is this contact us button or help (can't recall) through which one can write them. They acknowledged receipt of document and the status on my profile changed from 'pending, awaiting document' to processing or so. About 24 hrs later, profile changed to pending again. This time, they had sent AAU their normal verification email and was awaiting response from the school. Unfortunately, non academic staffs joined ASUU on April 1st. Evaluation was on a standstill for about two weeks and I decided to try my luck by writing to WES via my profile. I suggested that since the transcript was sent directly, they should be able to move forward with the evaluation. I got a mail about 48hrs later where they stated it is their standard way of operating but they understand my plight. I wish...lol That's how I waited from April 1st till 3rd week of June. Governor Obaseki's declaration that he banned ASUU and other unions in the state opened my mind to the posibility that the registrar's office might be open all the while. I contacted someone in Ekpoma to help me confirm if the office was open and report was affirmative. Before now, I had called that connect to see if he could do anything but apparently, oga had left for Benin even before NASU declared strike. Lol The guy I contacted met someone at the aforementioned office and we spoke. It is at this point that you make payment for (b) stated earlier; verification of result (WES)....I think 5,200. Of course another 'hand shake' took place. I sent my name and DOB to the guy and asked him to tell the man to compare. I have heard stories of disparity in DOB. He confirmed it was correct. After 2 days, the connect told me he had verified and responded to WES inquiry. Later that day, WES updated my status to 'We are evaluating your document". They sent a mail too stating that estimated time of completion is 21st July. However, after 24 hours, they sent a mail to inform me that evaluation has been completed I checked my profile and indeed it was. I downloaded the soft copy of the evaluation report and every detail was correct. My advice at the beginning stems from (1) the lady who despite having a connect there had her transcript stuck for almost a year. Not an isolated case too. (b) my friend applied 3 months before me and is yet to get his done despite having someone who helps him monitor his application. Also, never use residential address when stating where you want your transcript sent. It is a red flag. The best is a school.....especially for those applying for transcript, local. For graduates between 2015 till date, transcript application is easier as your data is online. It's just a case of spooling it. But people intentionally make it difficult. As for WES and payment, after creating my profile on their website, someone in Canada, who has been of immense support and guidance helped me make payment. I uploaded my Certificate too. I think this epistle touched every aspect of "AAU WES marriage." |
Vivickybliss:Hi Vivickybliss, I am an Alumnus too. I will be in Ekpoma for this cause between 28th and 4th. I will give feedback on my experience. Greetings to all. |
Urchna:From my experience, if her name on bvn and documents (valid id specifically) are the same, all she has to do to change the name on her account is to walk into any of her bank's branch, inform them she wants to change the name on her account. She will have to present 2 documents. The first one is a newspaper publication showing the change of name. The second one is a marriage certificate showing the names. In the absence of a marriage certificate, a sworn affidavit will do. So its either newspaper publication and marriage certificate or newspaper publication and affidavit. I believe this requirement is constant in all banks within the country. Disparity in names between BVN and Account can delay/prevent payment. |
Shimzyy:Thanks for this. If he/she is in Lagos, I wouldn't mind reaching out, if he/she permits. |
Devifeoluwa:. |
Devifeoluwa:Thanks for the offer, Devifeoluwa. I really need it. How do I reach you? |
cleish:I have waited for someone to mention this local government part. An officer did a head count by local government and I was the only one from my local government. On the list, I was number 3 but the first 2 candidates were absent so I was to be screened first. Eventually, a nursing mother was first to screen because of her status. When it got to my turn, after taking my height and chest measurement, I was asked to remove my white top, which I did. On seeing my body shape, the officer quickly asked if I participate in any sport which I affirmed. He asked for proof and I showed him several pictures of me, playing football at various tournaments! Against the contention from one officer, he wrote footballer in front of my name. By the time I stumbled on the list just before I left the scene, I was the only one having a comment in front of his name. Others were just ticked. I decided to ask the implication of the comment from one officer who studied law (I think level 9 or so). He said they have a football team and they place premium on people who do sports. I left the venue kinda convinced that I had a good chance. Hahahahahaha, so I thought. So many accusations can come out of this disappointment like faulting the recruitment for not observing federal character principle or accuse one of the top-most officers of corruption (after all as soon as he walked into the venue, he called people by named without looking at any list. Hahahaha. ..you know what that means right? BUT I will rather focus on the brighter side of life. Perhaps it was God's own directive to me. I remember telling God that if he does not want me to relocate out of the country to somewhere in North-America then he should give me this NSCDC job. He allowed me get to the last stage and if I didn't get it, I am convinced it is because he wants me to exit the country. Although the pain of getting to the last stage exists. Now i can recommence my TEF, IELTS GENERAL and BCS IT practise and tests which was placed on hold. My Java script courses can now restart too as I build myself for other opportunities. One thing I know for sure is that GOD NEVER FAILS HIS OWN!!! To everyone who didn't get in, there are so many things you can do with your life and look back at this disappointment as a push towards the great things you will achieve. I have seen God answer prayers that I thought was impossible. At 28, I gave up on achieving my dream of working in a bank, but by the time God decided to answer my prayers, I got a bank job and it was at the headquarters!!! That's the job I alluded to in one of my previous posts. YOUNG MAN/WOMAN.........TRUST GOD AND BE CONSISTENT IN YOUR EFFORTS. To all the successful ones, I wish you all the best. OUR COUNTRY is bedevilled with so many problems and I pray you become a solution in your little ways than add to it. May you NOT be among those mentioned as victims of the hazard that comes with a position in security agencies. Amen!!! Lest I forget.....journey mercies to you all as you go for the receipts of your APL. With love from me to you all. |
Mine was unsuccessful too. Good luck to you all!!! |
Thanks2God:In essence, you are saying all successful applicants will be "arm-wielding" personnel right? If not, you would not have used it as a reason why induction is impossible with NSCDC. Whether induction takes place or not depends on the powers that be and I am sure the "arm-wielding" reason will not be at the fulcrum of the decision. Meanwhile, I employ you to stop this your Immigration and Civil Defence comparison. I have followed most of your posts and it is always about trying too hard to show how Immigration is "superior" I also remember how you berated us for talking about NSCDC on immigration thread but when you were offered the immigration job, you came here to announce it and many of us congratulated you, while others liked the comment. Of course, we have class and more accommodating! I hope this your "we are superior" mentality does not push you into something bad. It is TOO OBVIOUS!!! |
For those going to Lagos, if you are denied entry on Saturday, you will easily find hotels in oshodi not more than 5k. Ikeja is between 7-10 minutes drive from Oshodi, baring traffic jam. |
Cizarr:New entrants might be able to use it, if the NSCDC follows the NIS style of 3 months induction before training. If not, it might not be possible. Make our name dey book of life first sha ![]() I know there will be many questions on training/camping as soon as the list is released. |
Omobabaemili: ![]() |
Omobabaemili:Guy, just try remove mind. I know say e no easy sha. Make the wait sha dey worth it when the list is finally released. Especially if na news wey person go use enter or start new year. Compliments of the season! |
Muanya22:Even CG use SOON oooo. You wan say CG information too no dey verified?? ![]() Anyway, it's Christmas week, NSCDC could be our Santa......SOON ![]() |
iSocrates:Like many here, I have many things on hold too, and as scary as it appears, thought of missing out crosses my mind every now and then. After all, nobody said getting to the final screening equates to appointment letter. This is the more reason why the delay is ill-advised and detrimental to ones state of being. Even those who "have something doing" cannot take their mind off this recruitment. So whether you have something doing or not, it does not shield you from the mental trials the delay subjects one to. The recruitment is becoming like the Igbo phrase "echi anu ozo" (tomorrow we hear another story). To the extent that valid information becomes guess work. We keep longing for a better country with better ways of doing things. Where there are specific timeline and if there are unforseen circumstances like the pandemic of last year, a course of action is still completed within a reasonable time frame. For the sake of generations yet to come, it is my sincere wish that we get get better. I will keep checking the portal and The Corps Facebook handle almost every 2-3 hours as usual. Hopefully, respite is near!!! |
![]() One Igbo artiste sang a song; Ogadimma Memesia (it will be well at the end). But we Don try sha. The mental toughness needed to complete recruitment process, especially by Government is often underrated mehhhnnnn. |
Dannyxy:Thanks for the information, as always. |
rittyben:Unfortunately, this is not an isolated case. It exists everywhere in our clan. I assumed a position recently and just 4 out of over 20 new entrants got the job on merit. In fact, one of the beneficiaries of the "back-door" appointment said she didn't sit for the exam but got a mail that reads "sequel to your performance in the so so and so assessment, you have been offered a position." Those of us who know no one in the corridors of power only trust that God has the best plan for us. But we also recognise that we must do our part which includes applying to vacancies. There might have been over 16 candidates who got in through the back door but there are 4 who got in without influence too. As a result, those who know no one besides God must continue to keep faith that this recruitment will be in their favour. Happy Sunday. I have a feeling that this is the week. |
Today's live event on the corp's Facebook page, the CG while speaking to the Niger State Governor, in the presence of other top officers of the corp, said and I quote, "we are going to send 250 (Agro rangers to Niger state). If we are able to train them by next year PLUS THE NEW RECRUITMENT WHICH WE ARE ABOUT TO RELEASE" (between 10:00 and 10:15 of the 13:27 long video) ABOUT TO RELEASE! He also implored the Governor to talk to the President about increasing the number of personnel in the Corp |
Sigala:The truth is, when you are from a failed state like ours, positions like this becomes a given. Citizens of saner states will not even think of this happening, talk less of accepting it when it happens. It is such a pity. I hope one day these abnormalities which we consciously and/or unconsciously embrace will be a thing of the past. NCS is a government institution, they owe applicants everything. Applicants should feel entitled, at least, to know the stage the recruitment process is and have a timescale for the conclusion of same. Unfortunately, we are in a state where we are not entitled to even the most basic of all things. How can we be entitled to this? Somehow, we have managed to adopt the, "they owe us nothing syndrome". It is a pitiable situation, one that we hope to talk about in the past and not present in the future. Like, remember when government institutions used to keep applicants waiting for over 2 years ![]() I pray that day comes!!!! |
Shinzokiyotake:Well done!!! That's the spirit. Although we cannot decide when to release the list, how we relate is within our capacity. The prayer na make our name dey list when them release am. |
Shinzokiyotake:Ikocyztem's observation was not out of place. Your blunt response was not necessary. Peace! |
carmaldyn:Amen! |
Sidney1990:This reminds me of the day of my screening. The top officer at the venue was busy lamenting about the low turn out of those from Ebonyi state. He even put a call across to probably the state commander asking why his people didn't turn up. At the end of the call, while speaking to his colleagues he said the person he called said announcement was made on various radio stations and that he will try to make use of TV stations. Others jokingly said Ebonyi people are contented with their rice; that it fetches them enough money ![]() He ended by saying that they had until Saturday to show up else he will submit the list he has and in that case ............ (can't remember for sure if he said others will take the unfilled spot or something). I am not trying to affirm your position sha. ...your message just brought back this part of my screening experience. ![]() |
![]() My mind dey tell me October too sha. Na just the reason wey @elaino give make me do haaa ![]() |
(Sorry I'm a bit late)
then he should give me this NSCDC job. He allowed me get to the last stage and if I didn't get it, I am convinced it is because he wants me to exit the country. Although the pain of getting to the last stage exists.
