Brother, in terms of house rent, it is relative (both in Lagos and Port Harcourt).
I know that in Lagos house rent is on the high side even when the house and.or apartment is nothing to write home about. The agent fee, agreement which they will never make available and one annoying thing they call *damage/caution fee*. Lagos is a very dangerous terrain. Thieves here and there. Agbero everywhere, unnecessary disturbances.. Insecurity is still very high here...

All I know is that Port Harcourt is not as safe as Lagos. Lagos has its own share of insecurity but that of PH is on a whole different level entirely. Cultism, gangsterism, robbery, violence etc, are far too much.

As for cost of living, it all depends on the area you intend staying. Generally though, houses in Port Harcourt are more expensive than houses in Lagos (except highbrow areas).

Cost of living is higher in PH than Lagos.

If you know Port Harcourt and Lagos, you wouldn't have written the above...

The Sun Newspaper is owned by a certain Oriji Uzor Kalu; a failed politician who collaborated with his mother to milk Abia dry during his (evil) reign as the Abia State governor. He, Orji Uzor Kalu, dumped the party (PPA) he formed and joined the APC (All Progressive Criminals) in a bid to scuttle the criminal charges against him.

Today, he is using all arsenal within his reach, his sun newspaper inclusive, to appease Buhari in order to achieve his dubious aim of scuttling/averting justice.

Having written the above, anyone that believes this botched story from the Sun Newspaper does that at his/her own peril.

The worst set of people you can think of are those staff in First Bank Plc, Federal Secretariat, Ikoyi 2, Branch, Lagos.
I am sincerely thinking that someone or group of persons or all the staff in that branch are in collaboration in carrying out nefarious activities such as debiting people at random...

I am writing from my experience with them which is about 21 days old today.
I will certainly make it go viral after going to that very branch today...

I am totally against the so called "Educationally Disadvantaged State" (ELDS). If you do not merit it, forget it. Continue with your cattle rearing; it gives money too. The criteria, in my opinion, should be on merit and may be catchment area with a very low percentage.

As for the real reason why the girl was denied admission, I strongly believe that the VC or whoever that were involved did that deliberately.
The only way is to give the girl the admission.

Having stated the above, all these are being experienced in its massiveness under a certain Buhari...

Sometime in May, 2016 Buhari scheduled a visit to Ogoni Land in Rivers State. The NDA categorically warned him (Buhari) not to step his foot into Rivers State else he will not live to tell the story. He (Buhari) didn't go to Ogoni Land after-all.

Today, Buhari was expected to visit Enugu for what he and his bunch of failures termed as #Security_balderdash, but after the warning from IPOB and total rejection by all voices from the South/East - on the grounds that there's no known security challenge in South East but marginalization by a tyrannous Buhari and co, the planned visit/summit, I believe has been either cancelled or a representative sent...

The truth remains that Nigeria under Buhari has totally collapsed and divided into pieces...

Very soon we shall be hearing #a_certain_country called Nigeria...

My brother APC have candidates in almost all the LGA's here o. In my own LGA Obingwa they presented a very intelligent young man but it is unfortunate that PDP is Obingwa 95%.

Unofficial results from 13 LGAs after 950 polling units PDP has 109,783 while APC has 73,890.

We are still waiting for the conclusion of collation and official declaration of the result.

We only hope that INEC, political parties and all the stakeholders shall remain calm, play by the rules.

We are the successful 184 young Nigerian Mechanical and Electrical Engineers out of 220 that underwent a training with the power sector of this country, which was organized by the National Power Training Institute of Nigeria (NAPTIN) and sponsored by TVET/SURE-P. A letter dated 10th April, 2014 was sent to us in respect of that. In the said letter, it was clearly stated as follows "...Please note that the sponsor of this programme TVET/SURE-P, has fully paid for your participation, and as such you will not be required to make any payment. In addition, TVET/SURE-P would provide free accommodation, and pay monthly stipends throughout the 12 months duration of the programme."

Sir, it is important to let you know that an extract in the programme of events for the induction ceremony reads thus "A memorandum of understanding has been signed between NAPTIN and SURE-P to fund the training of young Nigerian Mechanical and Electrical Engineers as a way to building capacity for the power sector which will readily absorb them after the training".

Sir, having mentioned a few of what prompted most of us to embark on the training, resigning and/or withdrawing from our various places of works, it is regretted that till date we are yet to be absorbed into the power sector as stated in the said program of event.

Sir, the power sector reform by the presidency and/or the Federal government is targeted, among other things, at training the Nigerian youths, who are to be meaningfully engaged in the power sector of this country to contribute positively to the industry, unfortunately some people are interested in sabotaging the effort."

Sir, there is no gain to state that the training cost for each of us was estimated at about #3, 000, 000. 00 (Three Million Naira), which amounts to #552, 000, 000. 00 (Five Hundred and fifty-two Million Naira) for the 184 persons. We don't want to believe that the Federal government of our country- Nigeria is interested in being wasteful.
Sir, it is rather worrisome and regretted that with about 184 trained/skilled engineers (in the power sector), the country through "man know man" still went ahead to hand-picked about 150 unskilled persons and drafted them to work in the various arms of the power industry.

Our demands therefore are as follows ;

1. The immediate employment of the said 184 merit graduates successful trainees to TCN or by its other Government sister Power agencies. 

2. That FG should mandate NAPTIN to stop the present advert for admission which it has posted both online and in the National dailies, till our pressing issues are attended to. 

3. That the FG through Ministry of Power should mandate all Private Companies (Gencos and Discos ) and Public (TCN, NERC, etc) to grant the graduates of NAPTIN the right of first refusal during employment as it still retains 30-40% ownership of stake in such companies. 

Sir, through this medium, we solicit that you use the necessary means and your good office to wade into this matter, stop this misnomer and ensure that the trained and skilled personnels are being engaged in the power sector to give back to our country for spending huge amount of money and/or resources in training us towards improving the quality of service in delivering of electrical power to our country.

Long live The Federal Republic of NIGERIA.
