Mikel wasn't MVP of AFCON 2013, he didn't win the golden boot neither did he have the highest number of assists. He wasn't even Nigeria's best player or captain in that tournament. Again he was just a part of the squad, nothing more nothing less

There are players that helped Nigeria qualify for her first nations cup, won Africa's first olympic football gold, won Africa's footballer of the year awards(some multiple times), were best players in their clibs in Europe and inspired a Nigerian football club to win back to back African champions league title. Those are our true greats. Players that gave us great night in football, memorable nights, proud nights. Players whose moment of magic we remember til this minute. Rashidi Yekini celebrating Nigeria's first WC goal, Kanu Nwankwo scoring two of our most memorable goals on that 1996 night, Finidi George regarded as one of the finest wide midfielder in the world, Amuneke scoring that headef goal that gave us gold, Ikpeba referred to as the prince of Monaco.

Truth be told, Mikel won't be remembered like these true greats whose contributions we still appreciate decades later.

you asked for top 10, I'll give you top 30 Nigeria players of all time and Mikel wouldn't feature. Mikel isn't even the greatest Nigerian footballer to have worn the blue of Chelsea fc

Mikel has made money from football, that remains his greatest achievement. If that makes him happy, I'm happy for him too but we shouldn't attempt to rewrite the script

Let me give you a heads-up. Mikel's former agent, Anderson went to jail because of Mikel. You can not understand the situation he found himself. Mikel used his head to stay relevant in the game and beat his trials.

Mikel is underrated but his impact in football will never be forgotten. He is one of the greatest midfielders in football. He just played a disciplined role, instead of a flashy role. His discipline and brilliance earned Chelsea titles.

There is no relationship with failure with Mikel.

for starters, I never wrote that she says nonsense as u falsely quoted. As a matter of fact, I fancy safarigirl as one of the brightest nairalanders. The only issue I have with her is her feminist and argumentative chatacter which I know is because of her inecperience in life(i was once like that).

On Mikel, I would totally understand it if someone calls Mikel a failure. Yes, he has made a lot of money from football and is living a life many of us can only dream of. But I watched Mikel play in his teenage years and thought he would one day become one of the best midfielders in the world. But do you know what he decided to be? A coward. A mediocre who killed his own talent by deciding to play safe and not explore his own talent. Take a look at Kevin De Bruyne. When Mourinho didn't show faith in him what did he do? He pushed for a transfer to Wolfsburg because he knew he was better than what he was getting at Chelsea. The kid went to Germany, proved himself and today is playing for city and regarded as d best player in the epl.
Mikel was in a De Bruyne situation early in his career and decided to remain there. He will never be a great either for club or country cos he failed to dream, to take a risk.
So yes, mikel is a failure in some ways

On the golden boy vote, Rashford deserves to be above Kelechi on that list, though he shouldn't be above Iwobi. You see, both Rash and Iwobi are playing important roles for their respective clubs but Kelechi is a bit part player for city. Please stop calling Rashford a fraud, the young man doesn't deserve it because he has been a model of what a young footballer should be. Iheanacho and Iwobi equally have great attitudes so far

Sanchez is a greater asset to any team than Kun. Yes, Aguero is arguably the best number 9 in the planet right now but his overall contribution to the team falls a little short of Sanchez's, IMO.
My dear, you don't love Kelechi more than some of us but we have watched football for so long and have seen players with greater talent than Kelechi fail to fulfill their potential. The more frequent player is usually the better eventually. Me thinks Kelechi should look for another team next Season because City won't use him like he should be used, Gabriel Jesus comes in January and he'll be seeing even less games

As for yes'day's game, you don't change to a less defensive formation against a team that has taken the lead 3 times. Bringing in a second striker would hv left city more vulnerable at the back against a team that had breached their goal 3 times already.

1. In EFL games
2. When Aguero is not available for selection
3. In games that are wrapped up early he can be brought in as a sub to rest first choice players
4. When city is chasing a game Pep can bring him in to play as a second striker
