Napoleon55: at the WC proper, and MIKEL happens to sustain injury or red carded , kindly tell us what you will do,or how the team will cope without Mike if we don't start now to look for an alternative, have it in mind that an alternative is not a replacement. Boss, thumps up. U are thinking outside the box. Abeg leave that guy jare. He doesn't want to listen, that's why I didn't bother replying him |

MetalJigsaw: The point is: Searching for a direct alternative or replacement for Mikel in this present crop of players is more or less like a waste of time. So Mikel shouldn't be left out of the team because of procuring another capable personnel in respect of his role but his unavailability for a game. Still dodging the question. Is Mikel going to play forever? Whatever happen to getting someone that can take up his role not as an exact substitute but as an alternative when he isn't around, having a bad game or when he retires. It seems some of us haven't learnt our lessons from Okocha's retirement. |

komekn: I don't know how it has happened but just like JJay, Kanu, Yekini, etc we have never found any one to replace those players.
Mikel has no replacement he is for us as Messi is to Barca.
There have been many pretenders but no one worthy yet. I remember Rabui Ibrahim showed so much promise was even in the Top 50 most talented teenage footballers. But has sadly faded away.
So what's the point or playing without him we know what the implication will be. The point of learning how to play without him is to avoid turning the SE into an Argentine team. The reason why I don't like a one man's team. When the "most important" player is unavailable or didn't come to the party on match day, the team crumbles like a pack of cards. SA game taught me so many lessons. A PLAYER WILL NOT " ALWAYS" BE AVAILABLE, so be prepared for any eventuality |

MetalJigsaw: God will bless you till your last day my brother. Shows you're really an intellectual fellow...
I have been wondering in astonishment as folks here keep uttering there pleasure about Mikels absence for the game. Mikel has not replacement as far as this current team is concerned. Its a fact.... So why why leave him out and make the team suffer in a match unnecessarily when there's not even a pretender in sight??! So what will happen if he isn't available? The South African game readily comes to mind sir |

Icon79: Moses and Nacho played on Sunday, so their lateness is understandable. As per Mikel, yes, he's coming from China but what about Ighalo? Ighalo was the first person in camp and he came from China too! Mikel needs to step up jare ... he's the captain, let him lead by example.
O pari Ndidi played on Sunday too sir Modified Sorry, I thought Ndidi arrived earlier than now |

Mujtahida: Guys I got an interesting book from a WhatsApp forum I belong to on how Germany won the last WC (Title:Das reboot). If anyone is interested in the book just drop your email and I will send the book to you.
The book details how the Germans engineered the 2014 success, how they went about it deliberately, setting things up from say roughly 2002. It tells of how German players are educated to become thoroughbred professionals. It tells the story of the establishment of football academies and playing centers spread out throughout Germany in a way similar to how the RCCG church establishes a parish in every 1km (walking distance). It talks about the potpourri of human resources the Germans utilized- they even involved the German national hockey team coach, a world renowned adventurer and SAP (the largest software company in the world)
It's 289 pages, written in quite an engaging way with a happy, lighthearted tone wrapped up in simple, crisp English.
Football is no longer kick, dribble, run, score. It has become scientific, indeed almost a pure science. This much became apparent to me when due to the constant use of terms like pressing, diamond shape, tactical formations by goodjoe, Mickael2 and others. Joebie reintroduced me again to four four two online after I'd read the hardcopies long time ago. Reading four four two magazine further reinforced the view that football is an intellectual endeavour.
We are here today. Nobody knows who among us might be involved with our football tomorrow. So reading such a book can birth a dream in our hearts or at least give us insight on how things are shaping up beyond our climes. Reading Icon4s mention Osimhen in his exchange with goodjoe, I remembered the book and I think Osimhen is just now getting educated. Our footballer play football. Europeans are educated from 6 years on to play football. That's the difference between Iwobi said Osimhen. Street cannot measure up anymore to the refinements of an educated footballer. That era is long gone. okeclement7@gmail,com. Thanks. |

Mickael2: So Shehu Abdullahi is now keeping Agu on the bench? Well that's bad. Are you serious?. I thought he played as part of a three man defence on his debut. Well, if he is now keeping Agu on the bench in the midfield, then that's a welcome development. Shehu can take a role in the midfield (and also as a utility player in the right back role) in our 23-man WC list while Ebuehi, Ola Aina, and Idowu man the fullback positions. I don't want these latter 3 players to miss the WC party. Na who Agu and Echiejile help? Guys, what do we think? |

somehow: "we"? Well I in person can see the work on Yusuf in their style of play, but individual skill is what is lacking in some of the players.
Yusuf won't teach pros how to trap balls or shoot at goal, pros should know this already! Don't get me wrong bro. You said part of Rohr's contract was probably to indirectly train our Yusuf. The question is what new thing have you noticed in Yusuf that you as a person probably thinks he has learnt from Rohr? |

somehow: I believe the indirect "coaching" of our local coaches is one that Pinnick must have included in the contract of the new coach. Unfortunately, we ain't seeing the fruits in Salisu Yusuf nd Alloy Agu's life, rather their condition seem to be getting worse |
