Is he really comfortable in this outfit (heat, weather..)or its just show off?
obiremy: Minister of Youths & Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung was pictured dressed in turban outfit as he arrived Kaduna State government house to pay a courtesy visit to Gov Malam Nasir El-Rufai ahead the 50th Memorial Lecture of Sir Ahmadu Bello, Sarduana Sokoto and Premier, Northern Nigeria .
Naija politicians don dey patronise turban outfit. It should be recalled that Sen. Dino Melaye recently caused a stir in a plenary sitting as he wore a turban outfit to a senate sitting
SignalNG1: Contrary to counter claims on Friday by #BringBackOurGirls advocate Oby Ezekwesili that President Buhari did not walk out on the parents of the missing Chibok girls, Aisha Yesufu, a leader of the #BringBackOurGirls campaign who was at the said meeting has re-affirmed earlier reports that Buhari indeed walked out of the meeting without paying any attention to the grieving Chibok parents.
Ezekwesili had denied reports that President Buhari walked out on the group after a meeting yesterday, January 14, 2016.
EiE Nigeria, a socio-political advocacy group had tweeted on Thursday how President Buhari snobbed the Chibok parents.
But moments after news of the cold reception gained traction in the media, Ezekwesili took to her Twitter page to issue a counter claim.
Ezekwesili said that the president failed to connect emotionally with the mothers of the Chibok girls who were weeping during the meeting. She said the President didn't walk out on the Chibok parents. "No. President @MBuhari DID NOT walk out on Parents. The Parents just did not FEEL HIM", she tweeted.
But a leader of the #BringBackOurGirls group, Aisha Yesufu in her account of what transpired noted that President Buhari was upset and ended up being defensive instead of being in charge. According to her, the President's reception was so cold that "When PMB @NGRPresident had finished he let go of the mike and it dropped with a small bang on the table. He stood up and strode away. PMB @NGRPresident walked out of the Banquet Hall with no glance at parents shell shocked . No empathy. No connection. Just coldness."
How do we verify these are not boko members themselves?
Or How can we ensure that defeated Boko members dont join Civilian JFT?
donaldofficials: Following recent attacks by Boko Haram insurgents on some parts of Borno State, Governor Kashim Shettima on Tuesday held a meeting with members of youth volunteers involved in counter insurgency operations popularly known as 'Civilian JTF' during which he appreciated their gallant efforts and unveiled welfare packages for them. At an open session with majority of the volunteers, Governor Shettima paid glowing tributes to them for sacrificing their lives towards complimenting the efforts of armed forces to fight for the restoration of peace in the state. He said no amount of welfare package can equal the sacrifices being made by the volunteers especially given the fact that some of them had laid their lives for Borno State. The Governor said despite its meager resource, the Borno state Government would expend whatever it takes to ensure that the volunteers were properly paid allowances, equipped and highly motivated. He announced a bonus of twenty million naira to the volunteers while directing that any backlog of allowances be paid immediately. Shettima directed the Ministry of Health to put a system in place that would guarantee free medical attention to all youth volunteers in all public hospitals in the state. He also ordered the supply of more patrol vehicles to the volunteers.
Thanks Eugene. Please School me.. are these religious processes or requirements? DID THEIR RELIGION SAY THEY SHOULD BLOCK ROAD AND DIE BLOCKING IT
Eugenedimgba: For those who don't understand Hausa...I will run a summary of what was spoken. The Shiites insisted that their procession was on going and that nobody had a right of way.The COAS said he wasn't aware and that he should be allowed to pass. The Shiites as you can see, wield matchets and sickles and sticks further buttress that not even the presidency will be allowed passage. They complain about similar killings and the COAS assures them that he's chief and nothing will happen to them. Some deviant ones started shouting they would rather die than allow passage to the COAS,even some Shiites are begging their members to just allow the COAS pass...but the voice of reason took flight.Obedience clearly is better than sacrifice.
This I think will only happen if INEC cancels the current election and conduct a fresh poll. Becos like keyamo said Faleke have an equal ownership of the Vote casted in the current election.
the election was declared inconclusive in as much as apc was leading, does not mean it can not be overturned with the supplementary election by the pdp,
not matter how we argue this, the lacuna that apc was not declared winners can not be covered by any constitusional misintepretation.
one certainty is that there is going to be a fresh poll, and apc will have to present a fresh candidate.
i think am better than this festus keyamo of a guy
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, has assured that it has enough volume of petrol in stock to satisfy the nation’s domestic consumption requirement. The corporation noted that the prevailing fuel queues in some major cities across the country have nothing to do with the lack of supply of petroleum products. Speaking at a press conference convened to update the public with the current fuel supply situation, the Executive Director, Commercial of the Pipeline and Products Marketing Company, Justine Ezeala, stated that a projected volume of 1.4 billion litres of petrol are available for distribution to fuel stations across the country all through the month of November. I personally dont see any thing in what system spec did, I even wonder why they have to pay back the money ( except there is more to it than we told here)
ordinarily a contract is a contract. 1 percent of any transaction done is not that unreasonable... Sone of our banks charge far more.
Probably when they were signing the contract they never anticipated such a wide remitance to the TSA or tsa was only targeted for a few organisations. Think of it, this coy has been collecting commision since 2011 but it has not been an issue until now when we started robust implementation of the TSA.
If system spec had a genuine contract, they can sue the FG, becos ignorance is not an excuse to revoke a contract. Ordinarily they would have left cash with them, pause the contract and review it against the current circumstances or terminate it if possible. Forcing them to return money that was legitimately signed for is dictatorial... What do you guys think
kahal29: • How Sanusi, Lemo appointed firm to implement e- Collection solution
The Central Bank of Nigeria has recovered N8.6 billion deducted by a Lagos-based software firm, SystemSpecs, which provided the e-Payment/e-Collection solution used for the transfer of government funds from commercial banks to the treasury single account (TSA) domiciled with it, THISDAY investigations have revealed.
The central bank, according to sources in the CBN, directed the company which owns the Remita software platform used for the funds transfer, when it was discovered that SystemSpecs had deducted as much as N8.6 billion for the remittance of government funds from banks to the TSA in the last few weeks.
Throwing more light on the e-Payment/e-Collection Remita software, which the Senate on Wednesday resolved to probe, CBN sources said the implementation of the modular solution was approved by the former CBN Governor who is currently the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammad Sanusi II, and former CBN Deputy Governor, Operations, Mr. Tunde Lemo, in 2011 to facilitate the transfer of government revenue to the TSA.
On Wednesday, the Senate had ordered its joint Committee on Finance, Banking and Other Financial Institutions and Public Accounts to probe the allegation that the e-Collection agent, Remita, had been paid 25 billion, being the 1 per cent commission it charged for the transfer of N2.5 trillion of federal government funds to the TSA.
The motion, which was moved by Senator Dino Melaye and adopted by the Senate, held that the N25 billion payment was in gross violation of Section 162(1) of the 1999 Constitution which states that “the federation shall maintain a special account to be called the federation account into which all revenues collected by the government of the federation except the proceeds from the personal income tax of the personnel of the Armed Forces of the Federation, the Nigeria Police Force, the ministry or department of government charged with foreign affairs and the residents of the FCT, Abuja”.
However, investigations by THISDAY showed that Remita was not an agent or company, but the software platform used for the transfers, while SystemSpecs, whose Managing Director is Mr. John Obaro, is the owner of e-Payment/e-Collection solution.
The company’s website further revealed that the chairman of SystemSpecs is the former Director General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission, Dr. Christopher Kolade.
Other directors of the company include a former Executive Vice-Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Mr. Ernest Ndukwe, Mr. Emmanuel Ocholi, Mr. ‘Deremi Atanda and Dr. Emmanuel Eze.
Remita, which has been adopted by the CBN as the e-Payment and e-Collection platform of the federal government, is currently used by all 22 commercial banks and over 400 microfinance banks nationwide.
CBN sources informed THISDAY that contrary to the assertion of the Senate that N25 billion had been paid to SystemSpecs, it was N8.6 billion that was deducted by the company for the transfer of N1.5 trillion since the enforcement of the TSA by the current administration in the last few weeks.
“Remita is an e-Payment/e-Collection software that has been in place since 2011, because the TSA transfers started under the Goodluck Jonathan administration.
“It was Tunde Lemo’s baby and approved by former Governor Sanusi for the transfer of funds to the TSA. “But when it was discovered that SystemSpecs had deducted about N8.6 billion for the recent TSA transfers of N1.5 trillion, we immediately asked them to reverse the deduction, which they complied with.
“The issue was brought to the attention of the president (Muhammadu Buhari) and he asked that the money be returned immediately which is what has happened.
“Going forward, it is our intention to review the contract on the software, because the CBN has its own software for e-Payments and e-Collections,” a CBN official, who did not want to be named, said.
Listened to Wike speech and am surprised he never mentioned that the character of his witnesses were impugned under cross-examination. He didn't say his witnesses dodged questions under cross-examination and refused to answer questions on documents the petitioners confronted them with. He didn't tell us that in addition to partial compliance with electoral act the tribunal declared the evidence of his witnesses unreliable... If you must address the people for support why not tell them the truth.
Anyway Lets see how it goes with the supreme court.#justobserving.

Have you tried reporting to NCC? especially with his NCC Reg No.
WealthMeansBlog: I just feel like to share this experience with you my fellow nairalanders and to those people planning to get into0 recharge card printing business to be wise and make a vigorous research about who they want to be buying recharge card PINS from, if possible locate a very close dealer that you can meet one on one to buy these PINS from Or else your case might end up like mine.
I met this dealer early last month August (through his blog http://gracewillnets..com.ng/), i called him and He gave me every steps to start using his software and buying of PINS from him which I started early this month not knowing that he is an advanced scammer with a very good proof i.e his tools of scamming.
so firstly, I downloaded his software which he claimed can print all networks and I proceed to buy the PINS from him (because he claims that without buying his pins he can't activate users from using his software, which i did).
FIRST PROBLEM- My first time to make use of this software was abortive, i couldn't login with the username of mine which he activated after the purchase of my PINS. SLOUTION- He told me to format my laptop (which i just bought new) because that may be the cause. which i did as recommended, so I finally login. SECOND PROBLEM- When i tried uploading my PINs to the inventory for printing, I started with mtn100 which was 130 Units. But to my surprise the network only uploaded 14 out of 130, so i tried a couple of times to re-upload if to know if the fault is from my end but the whole outcome was the same.
I was so confused so made up my mind to print the 14 and recharge one out of it to test if the pin is even genuine and wow.. the worse is about to come!! if anybody noticed that the new mtn PINS comes with 16 digit or there about but these particular ones came with the old 12 digit, so i recharged it but the network response was THE PIN DOESN'T EXISTS
And to other networks, I also performed the same task but in this case the PINS couldn't upload to the inventory not to talk of recharging it to check if its genuine or not.
THIRD PROBLEM I called this man to make the complains about what my experience was but he was just saying something i didn't understand like to format my system or my computer is not working and blah blah.. so i decided to forward the screenshots of the whole process to him which he didn't respond to (a person that uses less than 40mins to respond to his mails). so on monday this week I called him again to present the issue to him if probably get any solution to it but at the end he hang up the call himself without giving any answer to my problem.
So this is why I decided to take this issue to social networks and to my friends that they should careful when making deals with anybody ( I know some peeps here will want to form #WISE but the fact is #No_body_ that can't fall for scammers it only depends on what you dealing with. So please take PRECAUTIONS in whatever deals you want to make.
I'm SAMSON and thanks for your time to read this post.
"As a law enforcement agency guided by the rule of law and professional ethics, we do not under any circumstances encourage the payment of ransom to kidnappers or other criminals as it is tantamount to rewarding crime and motivating other criminals to follow that part.
”As such, the police was not in any way privy to any arrangement that would have led to payment of ransom by the elder statesman or his family. For the respected Chief to declare that he paid a ransom is therefore demotivating news.
”Our approach was a professional response to what we saw as a crime against a respected national personality known to embrace peace and who has dedicated his valuable life to selfless service of our nation.
”The Police under the leadership of the Inspector General of Police deployed our unique intelligence and operational capabilities, including Police helicopters on aerial surveillance.
”Our intelligence and operational teams comprising Intelligence response teams (Special Anti-Kidnapping Unit), Conventional and Mobile Policemen were deployed for rescue operation.
”They followed the path from the point of kidnap at his farm at Ilodo, along Igbatoro road in Akure, and trailed the hoodlums through bushes to Owo in Ondo State. In the process, we were able to identify the major actors and currently, high level Police activities are being emplaced to apprehend and bring them to justice.
”As professionals, it is our conviction that the unprecedented massive deployment of Police resources and men to support search and rescue operation put pressure on the criminals to release the elder statesman.
”This is much so, that history has shown that even when ransom is proven to have been paid, the life or safe return of a kidnap victim may not be guaranteed. The primary interest of the Police in this instance and granted the circumstance of this incident was the safe rescue of Chief Olu Falae which was achieved.
”Whatever the family did as regards the payment of ransom was outside the knowledge and consent of the Police and at this point, we wish to advise that in future that families who fall victims of such acts should rather work closely with the police component of the rescue initiatives so that we can achieve the primary purpose of rescuing the victim alive instead of wittingly or unwittingly giving the impression of encouraging criminal activity by rewarding criminals with payment of ransom.”
”In this instance, having confirmed that ransom was paid to the abductors, the police will be interested in widening their investigative scope with a view to exploring the lead further with a view to knowing how the ransom was paid and to whom such payment was made.
”If the payment was perfected through bank transactions, the police has the capacity to track such transactions and will be liaising with the bank to enable us trace the cash and apprehend the perpetrators. This could be an added lead that could strengthen on-going post kidnapping efforts of the police.
”The Inspector General of Police wishes to reassure Nigerians to strengthening and enhancing the safety and security of its citizens while counting on Nigerians to continue to support and work in strong synergy with the police towards the achievement of our statutory mandate.”
President Muhammadu Buhari says he will head the Ministry of Petroleum Resources in the new cabinet.
Addressing some select reporters in New York on Tuesday, after addressing a Global Leaders’ Summit on Countering ISIL and Violent Extremism, he said: “I will remain Minister of Petroleum.”
“I will appoint a minister of State for Petroleum”.
According to him, this step is being taken as part of efforts to sanitise Nigeria’s oil industry which is said to be plagued by corruption, massive fraud, and crude oil theft.
Buhari restated his determination to sanitise Nigeria’s oil industry and free it from corruption and shady deals. He said that the first step in this direction had already been taken with the appointment of a new management for the NNPC and its subsequent reorganisation.
The President said that the prosecution of those who misappropriated NNPC’s revenue under past administrations would soon commence.
Just saw this on twitter and decided to share. A fan queried a blunder made by Sahara reporters and they were professional enuf to correct it.. See Picx after the cut.
