ASK ME SERIOUS QUESTION PLEASE

Joysticks:
I saw this cleaner job vacancy at old English bakery at GRA,Ikeja,Lagos after months of job hunting.Due to unavailability of one's preferred kind of job,I like hotel jobs a lot,I decided to submit my CV to one of the bakery security man.

It is hard to get a hotel job at GRA Ikeja despite the big and many hotels located there though.Man know man things.

I was called to come for an interview at their head office in omole phase 1.

I attended the interview. But the salary is manageable being that I am a single man without even a girlfriend.Early 30's.But the resumption time was shocking.I would resume by 6.30am and closes by 10pm for #25k!

Which kind cleaning work be that? And the bakery is own by a Nigerian. No break or free lunch.

My mind told me there were other tasks I would be doing apart from cleaning because no cleaner would work till that time.

So has anyone who have worked there before knows the job description in old english bakery?

We dont Need more RAM (They are power drainers and most times user dont fully utilize them)

We need light weight batteries that will last days. Still housing a 3300mah battery with 6GB RAM is a major setback for this device. Those buying should also get a power bank else..

Just 8MP secondary camera? People are more into selfies these days. When other tech coy are dropping 13MP sec. Camera.. Frankly Still struggling!

Ladies & Gentlemen, it’s time to behold the all new Galaxy Note 8. Galaxy Note 8 was in the rumours since the day we said goodbye to the Galaxy Note 7. The internet was flooding with the hints towards the specifications of the Galaxy Note 8. We saw a range of images showing off the alleged Galaxy Note 8. Just before the official release, Galaxy Note 8’s specifications and press images also made their way to the web. As the phone came out, there wasn’t a lot of stuff to be surprised about as the release only confirmed most of the rumours circulating around. The Galaxy Note 8 comes out as a pure powerhouse. With a beautiful design, top-notch specifications and exciting new features, the Galaxy Note 8 is all set to lift up Samsung’s phablet game once again. Here is what the new Galaxy Note 8 has to offer.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Display, Design & Build

Galaxy Note 8 flaunts a huge 6.3-inch dual edge display. The resolution is 2960 x 1440 pixels with 522 ppi. Galaxy Note 8’s display is protected by Gorilla Glass 5. Samsung has expanded the display of the phone keeping it very easy to handle. The phone makes the perfect use of its frame. Galaxy Note 8’s thin bezels keep it pretty light with that huge display in place.

Galaxy Note 8 follows the design language of the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus. The curves on the edges can be found both on the front and the back. A dual-rear camera is mounted at the back has an LED flash and a fingerprint scanner on its left and right. Galaxy Note 8 is built out of all-glass. Both the front and back have the Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

Dimensions of the Galaxy Note 8 are 162.5 x 74.6 x 8.5 mm and the phone weighs at 155g. Like the previous Galaxy Notes, Galaxy Note 8 also comes with an S-Pen and the S-Pen slot can be found at the bottom. Galaxy Note 8 is IP68 certified to protect itself from the water and dust.
Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Hardware

Samsung has used the same CPU on the Galaxy Note 8 that the company used on the Galaxy S8. The Galaxy Note 8 is equipped with Snapdragon 835 or the Exynos 8895 CPU. Snapdragon 835 variant is accompanied by the Adreno 540 GPU while the Exynos 8895 variant has the Mali-G71 MP20 GPU inside.

Galaxy Note 8 has a RAM of 6 GB. This is the very first Samsung smartphone to come out with a 6 GB RAM. The internal storage options for the Galaxy Note 8 are 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB. It is unclear whether the 256 GB variant will be South Korean market exclusive or other markets will get it too. Galaxy Note 8 makes the use of a USB Type-C port for connectivity purposes. It has the Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity as well.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has a 3,300 mAh non-removable battery inside.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Cameras

At the back, a dual-rear camera setup can be found accompanied by the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and an LED flash. Galaxy Note 8 is the first Galaxy phone to sport a dual-camera setup. Samsung has used 2 sensors of 12 MP each to power up the rear camera. The new camera is loaded with a lot of features that we haven’t seen on the Galaxy phones before.

One shooter in the 12 MP duo is there for capturing wide-shots while the other one comes with a telephoto lens for capture objects into detail.

Samsung has introduced a new live-focus mode. The camera can now simultaneously take two pictures at a time. It gives you the ability to take the photo-editing to a whole new level. Both rear cameras have the OIS feature to give you an amazing photo-shoot experience. Here is how the Galaxy Note 8’s camera differs from the iPhone 7 Plus’s.

On the front, an 8 MP shooter can be found to entertain the selfie freaks.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Software

Initially, the Galaxy Note 8 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat for now. Samsung is using its Samsung Experience UI on the top of Android 7.1 Nougat. The phone will soon receive Android 8.0 Oreo update. Google has already announced that it will prepare the update for other manufacturers by the end of this year. We hope and expect the Galaxy Note 8 to get the Oreo update by the end of this year or by early 2018.

Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Price & Release Date

Samsung will start shipping the Galaxy Note 8 by September 15, 2017. Galaxy Note 8 will arrive in Midnight Black, Maple Gold, Orchid Gre & Deep Sea Blue colours. There hasn’t been any word given by Samsung about the pricing of the Galaxy Note 8. Keeping in view the rumours around, we can expect the Galaxy Note 8 to cost around $950 for the standard 6 GB and 64 GB variant.

Here is a brief look at the Galaxy Note 8 specs.

Nairaland / General / 3 Things Every Nigerian Should Know About Bail by clemhova: 5:02am On Mar 12, 2016
1. DEFINITION OF BAIL
Bail can be defined as the process whereby a person accused or being charged for the commission of an offence is released by the constituted authority who is detaining him, on the condition that he will appear or report to a police station or court or other identified location in future whenever his presence is required or so ordered.

2. TYPES OF BAIL
There are 2 broad types of bail in Nigeria, they are:

Police or Administrative Bail
This is the type that is obtained by someone who is suspected of the commission of a crime. At this point in time the police or the government agency investigating the matter has not yet obtained enough evidence to charge the suspect to court.

The Nigerian 1999 Constitution provides that that an accused person who has been arrested on the allegation of having committed an offence must be charged to court within 24 hours where a court of competent jurisdiction is located within a radius of forty kilometers from the police station; and where a court is located within a radius above forty kilometers from the police station, the accused person must be charged to court within 48 hours or such longer period as a court might consider reasonable.

Therefore it is illegal and unconstitutional for a suspect to be detained for more than 48 hours by the police (or government agency) without bail or without charging the individual to court. Government agencies include agencies such as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) etc.

Also, POLICE BAIL is FREE, unfortunately unscrupulous officers still extort suspects and make them pay for ‘bail’ before they are released.

Court Bail
Court bail, as the name implies, is granted by a court of law. Court bail can be granted in 2 scenarios – bail pending trial of the accused person, or bail pending the appeal of the accused.

Bail pending trial is when the case against the accused person is still on-going, but the accused person is allowed to leave detention, until the end of the trial. This is founded on the principle of ‘presumption of innocence’. This is because an individual is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law. In deciding whether or not to grant bail, the court looks at things like whether the proper investigation of the offence would be prejudiced if the accused person is granted bail, or whether the accused person is a flight risk, the health of the accused and whether he/she can get adequate medical treatment in custody etc.
Bail pending appeal is where the person has been found guilty and he/she intends to appeal the conviction. This type is generally more difficult to obtain, this is because the presumption of innocence does not exist here again, as the person has been found guilty.

3. BAIL CONDITIONS
Bail conditions are the conditions, which are set to ensure that the accused person presents himself/herself to the authorities when his/her presence is requested.

When a person is granted bail, some of the conditions for the grant of the bail may include:

To appear in court at a certain date
Living at a particular address
Not contacting certain people
Giving his/her passport to the Police or other law enforcement agency
Reporting to a police station at agreed times, e.g. once a week
Getting a surety (in Nigeria the courts prefer sureties with landed property in certain locations and who may or may not be civil servants on a certain level)
That the surety undertakes to forfeit a certain amount of money in the event that the accused does not attend Court as required (recognizance)
If the accused person for some reason breaks the conditions, he/she may be arrested and have the bail revoked. If he/she jumps bail and there is a surety, then the surety would forfeit the recognizance, and the courts have the power to arrest a surety who refuses to pay the recognizance, unless the surety can show cause provide satisfactory evidence to the court that he is not to be blamed for the accused person jumping bail, and did everything in his/her power to prevent this from happening.

Politics / Re: Records Of Calls Between Tarfa And Yunusa Obtained By Sahara Reporters by clemhova: 9:35am On Feb 11, 2016
Sahara Reporters una too much...Keep the Flag flying.
LocalChamp:
BY SAHARA REPORTERS, NEW YORK FEB 09, 2016
SaharaReporters has obtained phone records belonging to Ricky Tarfa, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, which shows consistent phone calls to one Justice Mohammed Yunusa of the Federal High Court in Lagos. These phone records were obtained by SaharaReporters just as a legal showdown between Mr. Tarfa and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is underway following his arrest by EFCC agents.

The phone records show a series of no less than nine calls between Mr. Yunusa and Mr. Tarfa’s GSM numbers, 08095666256 and 08034600000 respectively. Those numbers, when searched in the True Caller app, clearly show they belong to individuals matching their names.

SaharaReporters previously reported that Mr. Tarfa was arrested by the EFCC for obstruction of justice when he shielded anti-corruption police from arresting his client Granhoue Sourou Nazaire.

Mr. Nazaire had been Mr. Tarfa’s client since around May 2015 when he instituted a legal suit against Mrs. Rachidatou Abdou over ownership and control of a company of which they were both the directors.

However, a letter to the Commissioner of Police authored by Mrs. Abdou on September 7th, 2015 stated that she believed that Mr. Tarfa was colluding with the judge overseeing that case, Justice Mohammed Yunusa.

The letter from Mrs. Abdou states “before and after the filing of the suit the Applicant’s lawyer, Mr. Ricky Tarfa SAN, and the judge, the Honorable Justice Yunusa were communicating with each other on the phone in order to pervert the course of justice.”

The phone records obtained by SaharaReporters shows consistent communication between Mr. Tarfa and Judge Yunusa’s Blackberry phone between May 11th, 2015 and August 3rd, 2015.

A review of the phone records available to our correspondent shows that Mr. Tarfa, and Yunusa spoke on three separate instances on May 11th, 2015, or four days before lawsuits were instituted against Mrs. Abdou.

There was also one phone conversation between Mr. Tarfa and Justice Yunusa three days before the May 15th filing of the lawsuit. On May 16th a day after the May 15th filing, there were three separate phone transactions between the two men.

According to the phone records, Mr. Tarfa and Justice Yunusa spoke at least once on June 25th, 2015 more than one month after legal charges were officially instituted on behalf of Tarfa’s client Mr. Nazaire. This phone transaction was also four days before Mr. Tarfa “made an oral application for an injunction to restrain the EFCC from inviting” his clients to be questioned about fraud allegations against him from Mrs. Abdou.

According to legal statements and media reports oral arguments on the Nazaire-Abdou case began on July 16th of that same year. Despite this, Mr. Tarfa and Justice Yunusa had a phone conversation on August 3rd, 2015 in violation of conduct of legal professionals.

The judge then ruled for Mr. Tarfa’s client on August 18th, following no less than nine separate phone transactions between the two men.

Mrs. Abdou also submitted a complaint to the National Judicial Council (NJC) identifying the corrupt and fraudulent dealing between Mr. Tarfa and Mr. Yunusa on November 11th, 2015. In the complaint, Mrs. Abdou detailed the cases assigned to Mr. Yunusa in the Federal Court and that there were records of phone calls and SMS messages between him and Mr. Tarfa.

In response to her complaint, the Chief Justice of Nigeria Mahmud Mohammed sent a memo to Mr. Yunusa for his misconduct. The memo was sent through the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, demanding an explanation to Mrs. Abdou’s allegations against him. Mr. Yunusa was given two weeks to respond to the allegations.

SaharaReporters has not ascertained what Mr. Yunusa’s response to the Chief Justice was, however, our correspondent has since learned that Mr. Yunusa was moved from the High Court in Lagos to the Federal High Court in Yobe State.

Meanwhile, Tarfa has been slammed with two counts of obstruction of justice by the EFCC at a Lagos High Court.

Career / So Sad!! Jumia Staff Dies On The Job by clemhova: 3:50am On Feb 11, 2016
An angry Staff of Jumia sent this letter to stelladimokokorkus Blog explaining how one of her/his colleague died while working in one of Jumia’s Ware house. Read Below
”Hello Stella,
Please please please keep my identity anonymous.
I am a staff of Jumia Nigeria and you need to know what is going on in this slave trade company.
People work in the worst working environment ever. Staff being kept in the warehouse where the working condition killed a staff in the office yesterday 08/02/2016. His name is Ola, set to marry his pregnant fiancée next month.
The warehouse is extremely hot, very unbearable, they make staff work for 12hours straight without sitting down. How do you let people stand packing and processing items in a hot warehouse for 12hours? And the pay is so small but you know people have basic needs and responsibilities then they take up these jobs.
The government needs to do something about this because this company is here to use people and kill them. No more health insurance, they cut down the health insurance whereby you can only treat headache in the hospital and that is it. They cut down salaries and other benefits.

Meanwhile the expats live in 70million naira house on ikoy, lekki, vi with salaries from 2.5million naira and all. They live the lives of the Rick Nigerians, come to work, cannot perform and let the locals do all the work. Then the locals end up dead! A staff died on his way to Lagos from our porthacourt office while bringing items to Lagos, imagine them sending an email to the whole staff to donate money for his family. Why can’t the company pay the family why ask is donate?

If you can afford to live in 70million naira house. We need our government to fight for us, it is becoming unbearable. How can a warehouse not have health and safety rules and training for staff, no sickbay, no first aid. That guy would have survived yesterday if there was a first response. He wa simply gasping for breath and died before he got to isalu hospital, bearly 10minutes from the warehouse off acme road.
Nigerians please help us! Government please help us!
There are no jobs out there and these ones are killing people!
Scorned staff of Jumia Nigeria.

*RIP Mr Ola…
