TWO persons, including an expatriate working at the hospital project in Benin Central hospital, Edo State were rescued, yesterday, after a section of the building collapsed. A section of the west wing of the new Accident and Emergency Ward being constructed by Edo State Government collapsed inside the 102-year old Central Hospital complex on Sapele Road, around 5pm, while workers were still at work. The engineers at the site explained to newsmen that the accident was caused by arope cut on one of the cranes conveying concrete from the base of the four-storey building, smashing into the third, second and ground floors of the building. One of the rescued victims was being conveyed to the hospital in a Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, vehicle. He was admitted at the intensive care unit of the hospital and is responding totreatment. The site engineer, who was still trapped at press time, was communicating with the rescuers while frantic efforts were being made by other expatriates attached to the RCC and Setraco Construction companies to rescue him. Chief of Staff to the state Government, Mr Osarodion Ogie; Majority Leader of the state House of Assembly, Mr Philip Shuaibu; Commissioner for Health, Cordelia Aiwuzia and the Secretary to the StateGovernment, Dr Simeon Imuekheme were all at the site monitoring the situation. Shaibu said, “From what I gathered, a crane fell after it srope cut and crashed into the floors below. As you can see, rescue efforts are in progressing. We had sighted the other person and he will be brought out.” |

I'm giving it to Comrade Adams Oshiomhole of Edo STATE. The o-talk-nado of our time. That guy has achieved alot in just less than 3yrs. |
I'm not really a supporter of this whole scenerio.. But the problem i have is with the Girl. Atleast, she should have thought of that before applying for the job. |
Nice 1. Tnkz bro. Buh sum of d comments were kinda funny. |
I quite agree with this article. Women don't just call themselves names, they also snob(look down) on one another. |
i think it means ''die while sitting.'' in yoruba 'ku.' means die, eku means 'you die.' and joko means 'sit down'. In addition it means 'die while sitting'. |
I very much agree with this piece of article. Majority of student today have little or no knowledge about the said subject'. mathematics and english. It's not as if they are not brilliant. Most of them can do very well when it comes to other subject. But they are certain to write waec or neco for 10times and fail either englsh or mathematics; thereby denying them access into the university. I think the educational body of waec, neco, nabtec. etc. Should only make english compulsory since mathematics is not very important to them, especially Art student. Also, i seriously think the government should interrogate this body, as we all know what they are doing is money making and not necessary to improve the standard of education in the country. |

Here are some ways you can make a girl love you: 1. Smell good: Body odor is not good. Shower, and if you want, apply some scent. Use only a little. You want her to wonder what that wonderful smell is, not feel like she's getting hit over the head with it. 2. Talk respectfully in front of her. 3. Guys who swear and curse loudly are not impressive. 4. Sound intelligent every once in a while, but don't be afraid to joke sometimes. 5. A deep voice is great, especially when you're on the phone. 6. Be confident, but don't be arrogant. Confidence is great, and if you make her laugh too you'll have a winning combination. 7. Shave. Bristles are not good. 8. Take care of your skin. It makes you look clean and neat, not rough around the edges. 9. Sweet girls tend to prefer well groomed guys, not ones who are a bit of a mess. Alternatively, some girls like the wild just-got-out-of-bed look. 10. Discover which appeals to your girlfriend and strive for that. 11. Show your interest. Ask about her favorite movie, food, flowers, books, everything. After you've asked her simple things, get to know her on a deeper level. This will show her that you're genuinely intrigued in her. 12. Don't forget that being sweet isn't her only attribute. (But don't be too pushy or aggressive. 13. Keep sexual questions out of the conversation, as well as anything too controversial, like religion and politics.) 14. Do not reveal to her about your past and other current dates with other women too soon; do not chase other women for sweetheart before her such as letting your eyes wander to check out the other girls there. 15. Be yourself. No matter how sweet the girl is, don't fake it. Once you have her you'll want her to like you for who you are. Girls have differing tastes just like guys do. Don't fake the "bad boy" or any other archetype. Just be sincere and comfortable in your own skin. 16. Don't be obsessive or needy. If she's acting like she needs some space, step back and give it to her. 17. Forgive her faults. We're all human, after all. 18. Be creative. Find different ways to tell her how much you love her. So, good luck.. i hope this works for you.. |

I remember sumtym ago i heard d CBN wanted 2 reduce d highest currency denomination to 50naira inorder to reduce the cost of production and purchases & also the diminish the level of looting by our political counterpart. Where did dat policy runs to? This goes a long way to show that this country is just so backward. |
Can't believe some people can be so jobless. Nigeria ranked second in road accident. Sometimes i wonder if this so-called statistics do their research very well before making a conclusion. Remember. It's not called reckless driving, it's called mad skillz. Lolz |

As far as i'm concern. Epilesy is spiritual, It affects someone through a curse. I used to knw somebody dat was a victim of this disease. However, there is a cure for it, which is medical care and prayers as well. There are also some local remedies dat can reduce it lik onions and so on. |

Tragic! I was so sad when i heard the news today from ITV & EBS respectively here in benin. I heard the governor was coming back from a rally in his hometown in Auchi (edo north) the news said a truck accidentallyhit their vehicle. I sincerely think the opposition rivals(PDP) were trying to eliminate the governor. Just as they know they have no chance of winning the july 14 election. A popular journalist"OLATUNJI JACOBS." also lost his life. *sad* MAY THEIR GENTLE SOULS REST IN PERFECT PEACE! |
"Chop grass." Here in benin, it is used to refer to a situation when a player dribbles another to the extend that they falls and begins to crumble on the floor. |
