Rose’s POV

I alighted from my car and entered Sonia’s house. I had informed her that I will be coming over to her place.

I entered and she gladly welcomed me. I wasn’t expecting her glad welcoming considering what my husband did to her.

We sat comfortably.


“Being a while , Rose. How is family?”

“Family! you can simply ask that how my husband is, we have no family yet. …Is it not husband and wife with children that is referred to as family?” I questioned.

“You should be pregnant by now.” She said and snickered. At that point, I knew she was disparaging me.

“Sonia!” I dubbed. “You of all people should not be taunting me, that’s why I came here to see if there is any help you could render.”


“Help! You forgot how he treated me the last time I tried to help? Sonia, your husband is something else…He may be sick upstairs.” Sonia said.

“Common Sonia! Why would you say that to my own husband?…” I rebuked.

“Sorry bestie! I just can’t imagine having that kind of husband, I would have mercilessly make love with him.”

“Huh? How?”

“I’ll drug him or force him.”


“Oh no! I can not do that to my own husband. I love and respect him.”

“Stay there!” She said and took the bottle of wine on the table, she poured it on a glass cup and sipped it in.

“Is there any other way you could help?”

“Huh?”

“Rose, common! You are my best friend. I do not have any other friend I could confide in.”

“Fine, what other attempt have you made yourself after I tried helping you and failed.”

“Well, mom took us to the hospital but the doctor couldn’t help.”


“Doctor! Why not see a therapist instead? ”

“A therapist? …I haven’t thought of that.”

—At the hospital – (Therapeutical Department)

The old therapist sat before Ethan while Sonia and I sat a distance away from them.

We were watching them and hoping that a positive transformation will take place.

“Mr. Ethan, Nice meeting you. ” The doctor said.

“My wife wanted me to be here, that why I came. ”

“I didn’t ask, anyway…Mr. Ethan, I was informed you have never made love with your own wife, how true is that?”

“So true, extremely true, super true, incredibly true, exceptionally true, awfully true…”

“Mr Ethan!” The therapist interrupted him. ” I only asked a simple question that deserves a simple answer.”

“You asked me ‘how true it was and I was answering you vividly. In order to avoid redundancy, whatever my wife tells you is true, don’t bother asking me to confirm. ”

“Okay…Ethan. Why? ”

“Z” he replied and Sonia chukled.

“Excuse me? I asked why?”

“And I replied Z” Ethan answered.


The doctor came to look at us and I hurriedly lowered my head cause I felt embarrassed at Ethan’s behaviour to the man.

The therapist faced Ethan again and sat upright.

“Okay…Ethan, I asked that why did you refuse to make love with your wife?”

“Good question, I’m preserving her p***y”

“Preserve? Did she say her p***y needs preservation?”

“She may not say it but deep down, that is what she want. Take for instance, if we were to examine the most beautiful p****y between that of my wife and your wife, which one did you think will be more beautiful?”

The doctor came to look at me in surprise. ” Is that true, Mrs Rose?”

“We have never even made love, how can I get pregnant?” I asked.

“Mr. Ethan, are you sure you are alright?” The therapist asked.

“You are the abnormal one here bro.” Ethan insulted the doctor again. I can’t imagine him calling this over 60 years old man, bro.

Goodness! What have I married?

“Conduct a pregnancy text for my wife and confirm.” Ethan said boldly.

Sonia shot me a confusing look. “He’s talking with confidence.” She said.

I opened my mouth to reply her but words were not potruding.

The therapist walked out and came back after few minutes with a nurse.

“Please examine this woman here, I want to know if she is pregnant or not?” The therapist commanded the slim ugly nurse.

The nurse walked up to me and tried to carry the text out. “But…I’ve never made love with him, don’t you get?” I directed my question to the nurse and the therapist but they care less.

I allowed them conduct the text on me.

About few minutes later, the nurse went to the therapist with the result.

“Mrs Rose…” The therapist called and I heeded with my facial expression.

Ethan was smiling with his two hands at the back of his head.

“You are pregnant!”

I let out a muffled groan as I sat up on the hospital bed hours after Tara had told me about Charlie wanting to see me.

How could he even dare show up? After what he did.

The ward door opened and Tara got in.


“Ros? You’re up?” She asked coming closer to me.

“Yes, get me discharged, I wanna get out of here” I mouthed and she sat down beside me on the bed.

‘Why? You’re gonna be discharged tomorrow, not today” she inquired.

“I’m just tired of lying here, please get me discharged, I wanna leave this hospital” I insisted.


“But…”

“Please?” I cut her off and she stood up.

“I’m coming” she stated and left.

I sank my fingers into my hair and bent my head.


I can’t still really believe this happened to me. I never thought I’ll be losing my virginity like this, being forced on, by someone that is drunk?

And the worst of all is that it’s CB.

How did this happen?

I’ll have to leave this hospital if I wanna get rid of this pains, in order to forget this, I’ll have to go on with my normal daily life. I’ll have to try and forget this ever happened quick.

The door opened and Tara came in.


“You’re good to go, I’ve sighed the necessary papers needed to get you discharged” she said and I nodded and managed to drag my feet down the bed.

Last night, the pains I felt were the worst but it was more painful because it happened to be him.

I stood up and changed into the dress Tara gave to me. Even walking is a little bit difficult but I’ll manage, I’ll have to get over it.

Tara followed me and we passed through the backside of the hospital, Tara had made us pass there.

Then we got to the garage, got into the same car I was raped in, funny.

Tara and I turned back and I saw my younger brother.

“Matthew?” I called and watched as he walked up to me then he embraced me.

When Charlie drove out speedily, I and few other guards got into another vehicle, a black van actually and followed after him.

He drove at a crazy speed and we were forced to follow.

Sometimes, he acts like a kid. He doesn’t think, he just act.

I’ve known him since, we actually schooled together, he never had friends up until now but I still stick by his side, one of the contracts his father made with me.

I’m not only his manager, if anything happens to him, I don’t think his father won’t spare my own family that’s the reason I’m always concerned about every little thing he does. I regret it,I shouldn’t have left him yesterday.

I should have followed him yesterday night, secretly. I should just have.

Now the unexpected has happened.

The worst is that the news is everywhere, the video.

Now,I’ll have to be even more protective of him because like I said before, he acts without thinking.

He kept driving at a very fast pace valuating traffic rules and signs, we had no option, we had to break those rules too in other to catch up with him.

He continued driving going to some unknown place, it started becoming dark and he was still driving.


At a point he reduced the speed of his movement and finally stopped. He stopped on top of a bridge then he came down.

We were quick to also come down.

There were much breeze which blew sand up, it’s as if rain is gonna be coming down anytime soon.

I walked up to him and stopped, he was facing the ocean with his hands on the railings dividing the bridge from the ocean.

He didn’t bother turning to look at us but he knows we were behind him.

After a very terrifying silence, wondering what he was thinking, I decided to speak up.

“Charlie, you need to get back, it’s gonna rain anytime soon” I told him.

He didn’t reply or make any movement, he just continued starring at the ocean as if there was something in there he was searching for but then after a while he spoke up.

“You guys should leave me, I wanna be alone” his voice came out husky.

�Charlie’s POV �
“You guys should leave me, I wanna be alone” I hushed but as expected non of them moved.


“I said leave, I’m not asking you to leave me, I’m ordering you” I half yelled getting annoyed.

Why won’t they just let me be for once?

The guards stared at themselves and started moving back but Mike didn’t.

“Aren’t you listening to me? I want you to leave me” I groaned.

“I’m afraid I can’t CB” he retorted looking elsewhere.

“Alright then, if you don’t leave, consider yourself fired, you won’t work as my manager again” I told him blurtly and he looked at me in surprise.

He wasn’t expecting it – obviously.

This is the very first time I’ve threatened to fire him too.

He hasitated for a while before he took a step back then the next until he was far from me.

I took my eyes back to the ocean.

Maybe I should just do it, once I’m dead I won’t be able to feel this pain again, yes I won’t, it’s better I just end everything here.

It was supposed to be peaceful and quite but Mike and those stupid guards followed me. I was supposed to think in peace but nevertheless I’ll do it. I don’t think I will be able to live with her hating me.

Yes, this is me getting revenge for her. I hope she forgives me when she hears of my death, I thought sadly, really depressed, frustrated and useless. Yes I felt useless.

If she doesn’t want me,why should I just continue living?

Lemme just stop thinking and do it. The more I think about it, the more it’s hurts.

I held the railings of the bridge and released myself into the ocean.

As I was falling, I felt someone grab my hand.

“No, I won’t let you die Charlie. You won’t die on me” I heard Mike say.

Fred’s POV


Sonia and I had decided to see a doctor today. We were scheduled for an appointment and we had been waiting.

We are to pay $1,200 for an hour with him, it covers the test and the advice.

“I wonder why this man is keeping us late!” I said and turned to Sonia.

She was not speaking, she was just staring pathetically into the air


“Rose! Common! HIV isn’t the end of life.” She nodded in response to my words.

It was finally our turn and we both walked in.

“Welcome please.” The doctor who had a beautiful smile on his lips signalled for us to sit.

“Thank you! ” I said and we both sat.


“Okay, may I know what you have come for?” The doctor asked nicely.

“Well, my wife is HIV positive.” I said as I watched the reaction of the doctor.

“Okay…can I see the result of the test first?” The doctor asked and I look at Sonia for response.

“I didn’t have it with me.” Sonia replied.

“You mean you were not given the result after you had the test?” The man asked.


“I was…I think I misplaced it.” She replied.

“Okay, pay your session fee so you can go for the test after which you should come back with the result.” The doctor said and I turned to Sonia.

“My husband, pay.” Sonia said to my surprise.

What! Am I working? Or she just want to embarrass me?

“Sonia! Common! Aren’t you with the money? ” I asked. “If you are not, give me the credit card , let’s pay with it.”

“Fred, don’t do this to me.” Sonia started to cry.

Ha ha! What’s going on?


“Don’t do this to me baby, you barely give me stuffs, that’s even one of the reasons why I had to cheat on you and contact HIV…when you won’t take care of me.” She cried. “So you can not even pay for this session, it’s not fair.” Sonia lamented.

Somebody wake me up, I think I’m dreaming.

We had already agreed that she will work while I do house chores and cook.

She told me she contacted the HIV from her mom now she’s saying she cheated on me and had it.

“Mr. Fred, you are the man of your family, just pay this for your wife. $1,200 won’t hurt, man” the doctor said.

“What’s all this? You have no idea how we live in our marriage.” I said to the doctor.

“Oh! You should explain to me then? Explain why you want your wife to foot the bill?”

I leaned by the wall of thee kitchen thinking about what Scott told me. He said his ex girlfriend would be coming to stay with us for few days.

He yelled that’s when I got my senses back, I came down the vehicle and ran to the front


Blood stain everywhere, on the vehicle and the road. I didn’t even get a chance to see her face properly as it was covered in her blood but I did notice the girl was putting on rags…

Lifting her up, we gently placed her into the vehicle and sped off to the nearest hospital…

� Byung-ho’s POV �

I am inside the ward were the poor girl we ran over is currently receiving treatment, she had drips passed into her body as she had lost some amount of blood

Thankfully the accident isn’t as serious as we had thought it was and she is out of danger


she is lying down eyes closed but she had opened up her eyes for some minutes but is now asleep as a result of the anesthesia given to her to ease her pains

However it seems she will have to walk with the aid of crutches or wheelchair for some weeks or months so says the doctor at least that was what I heard him say to one of the nurses…

Stepping out of the ward with the doctor in charge

“ ..She ought to be awake in the next 3-4 hours when the drugs we gave her start to wear off

She then can be taken home but remember she has some serious fractures in her upper pelvis and lower fibula so she shouldn’t stress her legs at all or it will take much longer time for it to heal up, it might not heal up at all

I recommend she use a wheelchair and also comes for regular physiotherapy sessions and check up

Are you by any chance related to the patient? ”
He asked at the end

“ I…No actually.. ”

“ Well it’s alright, do pass this information to the girl’s family okay ”
The doctor said then left

I nodded and when the doctor had left I stretched my hairy head. I don’t even know the girl’s name how then would I know any of her family member

I have to go talk to Lee Chun…

Lee Chun was in the reception receiving a call when I saw him

He said arms folded, he seems kinda annoyed with me like the girl was his sister or girlfriend

“ Of course I’m concerned – to say the truth I don’t really like hospital, there is something about the smell… I find it irritating

And besides you said the girl is fine so their is no need for me to go see her, it’s not like I am some doctor

So let me just settle the bills and we can be on our way. We were having fun before this mess happened the fun doesn’t have to stop because of this ”
I said but he just flare up on me

“ You are really talking about having fun really? Fun?� when you almost ruined someone’s life? ”

“ What you talking about… You said she is fine_ ”

“ Her legs are damage Lee! Damage! The can’t walk! She needs serious care and attention now!

So the least you can do is go see her and apologize to her for what you have done to her ”

I will do that. Let’s go see her ”
I said wanting to walk but he held my arm

“ Not now, she is resting. We will go home freshen up and come back in 4 hours time, she should be awake by then

Then you have to apologise to her okay! ”

“ Sure.. I will do that ”

Leo scoffed and turned properly to look at me.

I closed my eyes immediately when I sensed he was going to stand. And really, he did.

Since my eyes were closed, I couldn’t tell what he was doing. But I heard him touch and move some things, the door opened and went shut and I figured he’d left for work.

Betty’s Pov:
I stood shivering to the wall as he pointed the knife at me.

His eyes were so dark and he didn’t care about how nervous he made me look.

“You’re just so worthless, huh?” He growled, trailing the knife to my chest.

“Its been seven months already. Yet, you’ve been unable to achieve a simple task”.

Sweats ran down my face.

“I…I…I told you he was out of the country. He….He’d gone on a business trip and just returned yesterday. Please, give me sometime” I panicked, my heart racing so fast.

He moved the knife from my chest – down to my tummy and stopped there. I gave out a light cry.


“If you fail me one more time, Betty, I’ll kill you. Do you understand? I’ll kill you”.he snarled and I just nodded tearfully.
I badly wanted him to go away.

He stared into my face for a long time and finally withdrew the knife.

“Good” he mumbled and walked away.

Rose’s POV


I looked at my mom in blight and I could see a look of absolute astonishment on her face.

Ethan disengaged with the doctor and cleaned the tears in his eyes. He sat back gently while the doctor did the same.

My mom continued starring at the doctor.

“Rose, there is nothing wrong with your husband, it’s just who he is.” The doctor said.


“What are you talking about, you mean my husband will not make love with me for five years too?” I asked the doctor.

I stood. “Can we start going?” I asked Ethan.

I chuckled. “Are you alright? Happen where? Are you planning on marrying thirty wives?”

“Why would I marry thirty wives? You will be by my side till death. Just you..only you will give birth to all those children.” He said.

I snickered and went to sit.

“You mean I will give birth to 300 children?” I laughed. “How please?”

He looked at me. ” Good question.” He swallowed and faced up.

He continued ; still shaking with his eyes closed “Rose…Rose…Rose….” He called my name three times like a sound of an echo.

I hope she gets over it on time.

She has lot of deals with companies. Lots of endorsement deals. She can’t afford to miss this opportunity that will make her really wealthy.


� Charlie’s POV �
I got outside the hospital totally forgetting to put on my face cap.

I forget because I couldn’t get my mind off her, it pains so much that she doesn’t wanna see me but I don’t blame her but blame my stupid self.

How could I be so foolish to do that to her? Even if I was drunk, I shouldn’t have. I should have just head straight to my house and deal with the rejection the way I’ve always done.

I shouldn’t have done that to do. I just shouldn’t have, I’m so mad at myself. If at all there is a way I can just avenge her, I will just do it but that means hurting my own self.

“Isn’t that CB?” I heard voices ask and I raised my head to stare at the crowd there.

Immediately they started rushing to me taking pictures with their cameras.

I was quick to rush to my car and I got in but got stuck. They blocked the way.

I quickly brought out my phone and called Mike.

I instructed him to come with the guards then I ended the call and placed my hands on the wheels. I rested my head on my hands in sadness and depression.

The crowd kept hitting and trying to get my attention but I tried to remove my mind from my surroundings.

Just 20 minutes later the guards arrived, they helped in moving the crowd away and i drove off immediately.

I got home and made to head to my room straight but was stopped by Ria.

“Dad, what is happening? I can’t go to school, why are a lot of people outside the gate?” She questioned but I was not where ready to say anything to her.

I’m afraid I might scare her the more. I turned to look at Mike who was just coming in after me.

“Can you just help in telling her anything?” I asked and even before he say anything I left to my room.

“Dad! Dad!!” She kept calling but I couldn’t turn back to look at her.


After some minutes Mike got into my room.

“Mike” I called immediately.

“Can you take Ria later to the mansion I bought for her months ago? I don’t want her here for now, take her there, at least it will distract her a bit” I requested.

“But..you bought it as a gift for her,for her birthday gift which is just two weeks away” he said.

“I know, just do it, I’ll look for something else to gift her with” I snapped.

“Okay, anyways I just received a text that the man that leaked the video out has been caught, he is been brought here and in…”

He stopped talking when we heard a knock at the door. He went to answer it then he came back.

The man has been brought here and he is in the basketball court, he stated.

“He? You mean the bastard?”

“Yes” he confirmed.


I got up Immediately and left for the court.

I got there to see him on his knees, about three guards were with him. One was holding a torture rod, an electric one.

“Give that to me” I stretched my hand towards the one with the rod and he turned to look at Mike first, Mike shook his head for him to give me the iron and he did.

I collected it and without wasting of time hit him hard on the back with it.

“Hey, you shouldn’t kill him” Mike immediately collected the iron from me.

The man kept yelling in pains. I don’t care if he is in his forties. I just wish to kill him.

But I saw a bottle with the nearest guard beside me, I snatched it from him and smashed his head with the bottle. The bottle broke into pieces, blood rushed out from his head and he fainted immediately.

“Charlie, you really shouldn’t be doing this with your own hands, if the news gets out, I’m afraid you will get arrested even if billions of dollars are spent to bribe them” Mike said but I wasn’t listening to him.

I stared at the man’s unconscious body on the floor with hate and anger.

I’m angry at myself, just looking for who to relieve my anger on, but it’s seems not be working out, I know what to do.

I left the basketball court and got into one of my cars.

“Charlie, where are you going?” I heard Mike asking after me as he got into another car.

Not caring if there were much people outside, I left, headed to somewhere.

I flushed my face with water and finally was able to open my eyes.

“Good, get on with it” I urged and he left.

Gosh I’m really scared. I’ve never been this scared before.

I didn’t stop at the receptionist office but headed straight to my dad’s doctor office. He revealed her ward number to me and I started searching for the number. As I walked my heart beat increases in fear and nervousness.

I don’t no how she is going to react seriously, but I hope she forgives me someday.

Then finally I stopped in front of her ward which was guarded by two different guards.

They made to stop me from entering but luckily the ward door opened and her friend came out. Not that I know her very well but when I searched up about Ros, I came to understand that they are best of friends.

“Who are you? ” She asked glaring at me.

“I need to see Rosanna” I replied instead changing my voice.

She stared at me suspiciously.

“Are you one of those reporters? If yes then I’m afraid you can’t see her, she doesn’t even want visitors” she folded her hands and said. The guards were still ready to drag me away.

I looked right and then left to realize there went in coming people then I pulled down the cap which revealed my face.

“You…can’t answer the question?” He asked, looking at both of us in return.


“Well..doctor” Leo began and cleared his throat.

He was surprised that I knew that he drew me.

One leading to inside town and the other to Omuku road while the one we took led to the village.

"You sabi swim" Joshua asked happily.

"No" I retorted.

And he was surprised, he wish I do know how to swim so that he could compete with me, we got to the river and firstly a small shrine was located near to the shore.

When we walked past the shrine we got to a shelter built close to the river were people could take a rest, when I finally got the view of the river it was mind blowing to watch people swim and play. All kind of sizes of blokos displayed by male folks in the river, Joshua revealed to me that women were not allowed in this side of the river because they have theirs.

I watched a long house constructed by mainly woods with zinc literally a thatched house, people were moving to and fro because it was at the corner of the river.
The river flow right, I later remembered the bridge we drove through before entering the town.

I asked Joshua what was the big thatched house for and he explained that it is used for toilet and I was shocked people swim that water also, he explained the water flowed that way but still the water was polluted somehow.

I told him about the bridge and he pointed to one at my left, I looked that way and saw a bridge across the river with bikes and people passing through, I saw someone jumped into the river from the bridge and I was shocked.

From were I stood I was able to see some girls swimming some distance away from were we are, he told me the bridge wasn't that good because it was damaged during the civil war by Nigeria soldiers.

"Aboki you wan swim too!" someone spoke from behind and I turned to see a hausa man coming towards the river.

I would be staying up late at work today cus there are some important work to done and urgent paperwork to be signed… That’s why I need to see Min-seo now unless another day would pass and I will have not have seen my best friend who is staying in same house with me

All dressed up looking as handsome as ever even if not more so with my dyed golden hair

I said smiling then I picked the call

Getting downstairs we shook hands and were about leaving for the party

He asked admiring her beauty

“ Nobody, let’s go ”
I said dragging him away….

We got to the garage, hopping into my black Ferrari

“ That reminds me, where is that your clingy girlfriend? ”
I asked

“ Da-eun? ”

“ Yeah that, where is she? She never leaves your side ”

“ Are you seriously asking me that? ” He said frowning

“ Yeah, what’s wrong ”
I asked giving him a confused look

“ We are no more together ”
He said arms folded together

“ What?..did anything happened? ”

He gave me a bad stared
“ Yes! you f**ked her dude, you had s*x with my girlfriend and that’s why we broke up ”
He yelled

“ Yeah..sorry… But I told you I didn’t f**k her, she only sucked my d**k and I sucked her b**bs_ ”

“ Will you please spare me the details. I don’t care anymore okay. Just drive ”
He said boiling

“ Alright sorry, don’t worry friend their are lots of girls in this party, you will get laid and you can even get a new girlfriend today

I said smiling, then gave him a friendly punch

He shook his head “ you will never change ”

I agreed with him and we both laughed….

Mandy’s Pov:
“Mandy! Mandy!” Leo called as he ran and held me

“Hey!! What’s wrong?”

“My waist….it hurts”,I whimpered, unable to even move my legs.

“What the…..
F**k!” He cursed and wrapped his hand around my waist.


“Come on; come on. Let’s get in” he urged me, but I found it so difficult moving my legs.

Oh God! What’s wrong with me? I wasn’t due for labor. No, I wasn’t. I was just 8 months in. Not upto 9.

“Come on Mandy. You need to try” Leo urged as forced me into the car and finally, I did it.
I was able to get in and sit on the front seat.

He ran to the other side of the car, got in and took off immediately.


“Oh my God!! Leo…it hurts”, I cried and slapped his arm unconsciously.

“Hey! I’m not the cause okay? So, just keep calm” he replied grumpily and increased the speed of his car.

I laid on the hospital bed as the doctor scribbled something down in his notepad.

A nurse was fixing drip on me and Leo and his mum were in the room as well.

“But doctor, are you sure the baby’s fine?” Leo’s mum asked, obviously still worried.

“Yes ma’am. The problem was from the meal she ate. One of the ingredients of Chow mein is actually bad for pregnant women. So, that’s the cause of the discomfort. But the baby’s totally fine now” he replied and Leo gave me a deadly stare of *I warned you*


Yeah. Whatever.

Well, I was really feeling a lot better. The cramps had stopped and my waist and legs were okay now.

Leo’s mum looked at me and touched my hair.

“You’ll be fine, okay?” She reassured and I nodded with a smile.

The doctor tore out the page he’d been writing on and handed it to Leo.

“Here. There are some of the things she should avoid taking. Take note of them”, he enthused and Leo scoffed, like he found it ridiculous collecting the paper.

Jerk. I’m not surprised.


“Thank you so much, doctor. We’ll take note of them”, Leo’s mum replied and immediately, her phone started ringing.
“Oh!” She mumbled as soon as she had a glimpse of the caller.

“I….need to leave now, Mandy. Leo will bring you home, okay?” She said calmly.

“Okay mum. Thanks” I smiled at her.

“Finish up with the doctor, Leo. I’ll be on my way now”, she turned to Leo and say.

“Okay mum” he replied grumpily, with an eye roll.

“Bye doctor”

“Bye ma’am”.

And she finally left.

Hmm.

The nurse working on me rounded up what she was doing and also left and it was just me, Leo and the doctor left in the room.

“When can we leave,,doc?” Leo asked after a little silence.

“Well…very soon. In lees than an hour” he replied, his eyes fixed on his notepad.

Shortly, he lifted his eyes and looked at us.

“Um…” He cleared his throat a bit.

“I…actually have a question to ask”.

My eyes dripped with curiosity immediately. What question?


“What is it?” Leo asked,,also curious.

And with one cranky stare,,he asked.

“How often do you have sex?”

Rose’s POV


‘At Night- Same day’

Mom came out of her room with a bottle of groundnut, she was pouring it on her hand and eating like a little child with no problem.

“Mom!” I called like I’m greeting her.

“It’s time dear.” She said and sat at the edge of the biggest chair in the living room.


She continued eating her groundnut.

“Time for what, mom?”

“That husband of yours that is behaving like someone that came from the 15th century, do I look to him like I’m a Queen to him?.” My mom said loudly to herself and chewed more groundnut.

“Your room. Take me to your room.” She added


“You mean the room that Ethan and I sleeps?” I asked.

“Of course, and you are wasting my time already. ” she said and stood like someone that needed to be somewhere as soon as possible.

I got really nervous and uncomfortable. “What are you going to do do there, mom?”

“Rose, take me to your husband’s room.” Her voice was stiff and strong this time. I exhaled heavily and obliged to her request.

On arriving before the entrance of Ethan’s room, I looked up to mom. “Here is our room.”


“Good.” She exclaimed and planted a knock on the door.

She planted series of knock on the door but no one came to open.

“Are you sure he is inside?” My mom asked.

“Sure.” My reply was brief and certain.

My mom twisted the knob and surprisingly, it gave way.

Just as I expected, Ethan was seen sitting on the floor like a Muslim cleric praying. As far as he has concern, he is meditating.

My mom chewed more groundnut as she starred around our beautiful room.


“Your room looks so great and big.” She complimented.

“Thank you mom. ”

“If only your husband can be this great and big on bed.” She must have said that purposely so Ethan could hear

But Ethan didn’t even behave like someone that heard as he continued his meditation.

My mom sunk to the bed in a roudy way and looked to the direction of Ethan. She must be wondering what in the world he was doing.

“He’s meditating.” I quickly said hoping I satisfy my mother’s curiosity.

“I didn’t ask.” Her reply was more like an insult and I kept quiet.

“Meditating!” She murmured underneath her breath.

“Hey, servant Ethan!” She called the name but Ethan never reacted.

“Mr. Ethan, can you stop what you are doing and look up to me.” My mom pressed further.

About few seconds later, Ethan stood to his feet.

“Good!” My mom said.

“Mother in law, you must have come to spend the night with us , but there are other rooms you could sleep.” Ethan said.

My mom grinned sarcastically. “May I know why you haven’t made Love yet with my daughter?”

Ethan’s face illuminated. He hesitated before he spoke. “I’m still a flower and I’m shy.”

“Shy? Do you hear yourself?” My mother scolded and ate more of her ground nut.


“Rose, pull off your cloth.” She set her face back to Ethan. “Mister or Servant Ethan, pull off your trousers, you must make Love with my daughter before me.”

“Mom!” I called feeling embarrassed.

“Don’t ‘mom’ me and do what I said.

” Mom, I can’t.” I said obstinately and turned my back at my mom. Even if Ethan and I are to make Love, mom shouldn’t be there.

“I’m done.” I heard Ethan say.
What did he mean by ‘I’m done?’

I turned to where he is and I saw that Ethan had stripped his trouser off, his d**k was dangling naked before my mom.

Mom was staring at it in shock with her mouth wide opened��

�Rosanna’s POV �
I got into the restaurant to see that he was already sited waiting for me.

I can’t find anyone around here, guess he reserved the whole restaurant like he did last time.

I walked up to the table he was sited on and sat facing him.


“Hi,I’m.. sorry for arriving late, I didn’t no when I overslept” I cooed, my gaze low.

“It’s okay, it’s hasn’t been too long I arrived” he said with a soft smile.

My shyness has reduced, I’m no longer that shy tho still a bit shy.

He is Charlie Bran afterall.


“So, what will you like to take?” He inquired.

“Um..I’ll go for chicken Alfredo pasta and an orange juice” I answered then he nodded.

At the snap of his fingers two waiters ran up to our table. In case you’re wondering, we aren’t in land mall restaurant this time but a different one.

“You should take something good as a drink tho, what’s with the orange juice?” He raised his brows and asked.


“Well, I don’t take alcoholic drink” I replied and he pulled a puzzled face.

“Chicken Alfredo pasta for two” he said to the waitress.

“A bottle of vodka and um…”he looked at me.

“Orange juice” he finally said and they both nodded and left.

He focused his attention and me and I lowered my gaze again.


“I won’t wait for too long Ros, I will go to the main reason why I called you out again” he started and I gulped hard getting really nervous.

I know he is gonna head here but I can’t help but feel nervous about it.

“You might think I just wanna use you like the rumour says, but you don’t have to listen to those rumours cause they are all lies. For the first time in my life I’m being really sincere, I’m really sincere about you, I don’t plan on using you so….”

His voice trailed off immediately the waitress arrived with our order.

I kept my gaze low till they finished serving.

“You can eat” I heard him voice out.

I raised my eyes to the pasta, picked up the fork beside it and started eating.


Biting the pasta slowly and supporting it with my orange juice.

While he ate his and drank seriously from the vodka.

After a while we were done and he moved back to what he was saying but I shut him up by cutting in.

“CB, I believe all you’ve said but you see, I aren’t just ready for anything yet, I’m sorry, I don’t want to get your hopes up or sound rude but I think you should drop it here. I’m truly sorry about it.”

“I pray you find someone to take care of your kid since it’s urgent. I’m sincerely sorry for turning you down again” I replied staring at him in the face.

He was surely disappointed, that disappointment and painful look was there but what can I do?

I’ve realized his sincerity but I wish he can wait, if I tell him to wait, I might later change my mind so that’s why I don’t want to get his hopes up.

“I’ll contact you personally CB, if there is anything” I added then stood up.

“I’ll get going now” I said without starring at him then I left the restaurant in a haste.

I got into my car, drove few meters away then stopped.

After about twenty minutes I continued driving, driving through a road where cars don’t usually follow.

I feel really bad about what I did. I feel like going back to him, I feel like hugging him, I want to tell him yes, I’ll be your girlfriend and mother of your kid but just can’t.

I feel bad that he is like that. I can’t honestly believe I left him in that state, I thought as I drove slowly down the lonely road.

� Charlie’s POV �
Already getting tipsy, I scoffed and stood up from the sit few minutes Rosanna just walked out on me.

I got into my car still with my bottle of vodka. Yes I took it with me.

Again. It’s happened again.


I got rejected thrice by one person, I thought and chuckled.

I’m obviously losing my senses.

Today Mike, my driver and guards aren’t with me. I paid them off handsomely.

I paid them to let me be today.

I drove out of the restaurant slowly driving with one hand and drinking with the other hand.

I wasn’t even seeing clearly on the road but I was sure I could get home.

I started off about to take a turn but sighted her car, she was just ahead of me.

I turned towards her direction in a haste and started following her.

She wasn’t moving fast and the roads were dried of people.

I continued drinking from the vodka getting more tipsy as I did, but I cared less.


This rejection is like a killer. It’s hurt real bad.

I continued following her up even if I didn’t no the reason myself, it’s like I felt like.

� Rosanna’s POV �
I saw a familiar car following me but wasn’t sure about it.

I continued driving and driving and after a while the car moved ahead of me and stopped in front of the road thereby stopping from moving.

I halted and got down immediately.

“Hey! What the hell do you think you’re doing?” I had to scream at whoever it is.

Then surprisedly Charlie stepped out of the car with a bottle of the drink he was drinking at the restaurant.

For some reasons i moved back a little bit, away from him.

He looks wasted.

He rubbed his eyes then staggered towards me. I kept moving back till I got to my car.

“Cha.. Charlie?” I called getting scared, scared of his state.

“Hi princess” he said and chuckled like there was something funny.

He got closer to me and stopped then rubbed his eyes again.

“I got you now, didn’t I?” He sounded really drunk.

“You’re..you’re drunk, you should head back…”

I was trying to advise when he got more closer to me.

“I really liked you, it’s actually more than like, I think I’m in love with you but see what you did to me” he said sounding so depressed but instead he laughed.

Tears gathered up my eyes as I stared at him. I should have just accepted him.

This is not the person I watch on TV, definitely.

He took a step closer to me again and I quickly opened my car door and got in.

This place is really deserted. I think I need to call someone to come pick him up.

I made for my phone and was about to search my contact when he also got into the car and my heart skipped a beat.

“What..what are you doing?” I asked getting more scared.

I quickly moved to the driver’s sit, then to the back sit but I found him crawling after me.

My hand was still on the phone and I fearfully dialed just any number but the phone fell off my hand when he also followed me to the back sit.

“What do you mean Sonia?” I asked not understanding her last words.

“I’m saying the reason why I didn’t want to make love with you is not because I wish to.” She replied.

“So, it’s because of what?”I asked.

“My mom, she advised my brother and I not to make love.”


“Your mom!” I yelled in surprise as I sat upright. It’s so ridiculous.

“Your mom instructed you not to make love with your husband? Like she really have control over you and your brother in your marriage?” I asked, feeling grossly irritated.

“You are right, disobeying my mom is not what any of us would like to try.”

“Is she some sort of supernatural god that can not be disobeyed. Will she beat you if you make love with me?” I asked.


“Be calm baby, I just felt like I needed to tell you so you would not be sad anymore.

” Can I have some serious talk with this mom of yours?” I asked.

“Sure.” She replied.

—-At Sonia’s Mom’s house—

Sonia and I planted a soft knock on the door but no one seems to be listening so I twisted the knob and we both entered.


I was surprised to see Sonia’s brother and his wife leaving.

What have they come for?

I greeted them as they walked out while I walked to where the woman sat.

“Good day.” I greeted her.

“It’s being a while, how are you?” She asked.

“Not fine ma.” I said still standing. “What say do you have over my wife’s marriage. You are such a wicked mother that does not want good for your children. I loathe you, you are so evil.” I abused the woman while she only watched.

“Can you have your sit?”


“I’m not sitting down.” I yelled as I flinched my hand. “Tell my wife now to make love with me…tell her since she fear you so much. ”

“Listen to me at least.” The woman insisted.

“Tell her now before I desend on you, I won’t care if you are the mother to my wife.” I threatened angrily.

“What will you do, beat me?” She giggled.

“Baby, calm down and listen to mom.” Sonia said.

My shout has not been yielding anything , though.

I calmed and sat.

“I’m all ears now.” I said harshly.

The woman sat before me and let out an heavy sigh.

“I want the best for my daughter. I have my reasons for telling them not to make love yet.” She said.

“I’m listening to the reasons?” I said keenly as I prepared my ear to listen to whatever made her give her children such instructions.
