Trump says groceries are down 98% from where they used to be. So if you were buying $10 eggs , they’re currently 2 cents now.
Same with his $1.98 gas.
I guess all of you better start swarming to the grocery stores

21 people dead in storms across Kentucky and Missouri.

Residents from both states say this hurricane season has been terrible for them.

DOGE cuts have left weather warning stations understaffed especially on the overnight shifts.

In Kentucky, budget cuts, particularly within the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) through cuts to DOGE, have led to staffing shortages and a strain on the National Weather Service field offices. This has resulted in a high vacancy rate (over 35%) in these offices, hindering their ability to perform their assigned functions, including issuing warnings and maintaining equipment.
And….Republicans voted to cut FEMA.

I hope you are not advocating for the child to be killed because of deformities?
hydrocephalus can be treated. If there are fluids in the brain it can be drained even while the baby is in the womb.
The woman isn't surviving the child has a 80% chance of survival.
If you cared about deformed/disabled children so much you wouldn’t take the side of republicans. But that’s topic for another day.

I’m advocating the woman be allowed to rest in peace.
Before the advancement of medicine, what did people do when death came? They died. Was anyone accused of killing their unborn children because they allowed nature to take its course? I think not.

You trying to frame it as killing a child is that typical republican redefinition you guys do when you want to lie through your teeth and paint your perceived opponents in a bad light.

It’s one thing if the baby was viable before this happened. then we can say it’s a living baby that can exist in its own outside of its host. Therefore efforts to save it would make sense.

But solely keeping her body alive for months to grow a baby is a prime example of not seeing women as human.

First there is no upper limit on how one can be on life support.
Have you ever nursed anyone on life support before? If you have you won’t be saying this
But then you forget they are doing this to potentially save a life of a child an unborn child the woman is practically dead that the family wants to pull the plug. If this was a case of the pregnancy will cause harm to the women then yeah I'm all in for that kind of abortion if it's rape then I leave it to the woman's humanity to show mercy and not punish an innocent child that did nothing wrong . But heck this is about protecting the fundamental right to exist, to live.
Are you saying the child shouldn't get that chance because its mother is dead?
I’m saying this is a decision for the woman and her family. Simple and short. No ifs and buts.

The govt shouldn’t have a say on it.
Biggest example of govt overreach if I ever saw one.

Your statement in bold confirmed for me that you are probably not worth arguing with. A woman who decides to get rid of the result of sexual assault is punishing an innocent child? 🙄

You people really are the same wherever you find yourselves. A special breed of people that’s for sure

She's practically dead and if there is a chance my grandchild can be saved than yes that's what I'll do. I won't lose both my daughter and granddaughter
A 9 week old fetus (that’s when her order started) is not your grand daughter
Humanizing it so as to take away agency from a full human woman is not the winning argument you think it is.

People have be kept on life support for years and none of this you said happened to them. This isn't pointless torture the woman is pregnant because she wants the baby I'm sure any woman who genuinely wants a baby that unfortunately is in this situation will tell the doctors to do all they can to save her baby since there's nothing they can do for her.
Not to mention the fetus that is being formed into a baby with this woman’s body is currently showing signs of fluid in the brain (hydrocephalus).

If they survive (BIG IF), they’ll be a human with lifelong disability needing round the clock care. Ask republicans to vote for lifelong free healthcare, free housing, free food, transportation etc for them and the next thing you’ll hear is how they hate handouts. Yet they keep creating situations that lead to less empowered people who need constant help and support.

You’re making assumptions on her behalf.

Yes people do stay for extended periods on life support (not years. That’s just false information). People stay on extended life support when there’s hope for recovery. Sometimes there’s no hope but the family is having a hard time letting go. We give them time to grieve and finally make the decision to pull the plug. But the patient and the family are given the choice to make this decision on their own. Where the patient doesn’t have an advanced directive for an incident like this, the next person on the family tree is given the choice to make that decision.
The list goes
patient (or parents if a minor)
spouse
adult children
adult siblings if none of the above is present

In extenuating circumstances where a patient has chosen a power of attorney with a clear mind and under no duress before losing their ability to make their own decisions, then that POA supersedes all the above.

What the govt is doing here is inserting themselves intimately into people’s lives to say they have ultimate power over their bodily autonomy above everyone listed above. Yet the Republicans keep claiming they are the party of small govt. no greater irony has ever existed than that statement.

And yes all the stuff I described earlier does happen to them on life support. Recurrent UTIs, pneumonia, They can’t eat they have to be fed via peg tubes. Can’t breathe they have to be on a ventilator. Bed sores down to the bones if they’re not being turned at least every 2 hours. You can see their sacral bones peeking from their rotting flesh. It’s torturous awful existence that death is a mercy.

This started when she was 9 weeks pregnant. So many months of torture because you guys can’t get yourselves to see women as more than cattle for breeding new offspring.

I once had a guy on life support for two months because the family couldn’t make up their minds on what to do. Despite every kind of care you give, they basically rot from the inside out (for want of a better word).

It’s a disgusting thing the state of Georgia is doing. Simple and short.

Georgia mother says she is being forced to keep brain-dead pregnant daughter alive under abortion ban law

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/family-forced-keep-brain-dead-pregnant-woman-alive-rcna207002

Basilico, bemeruca and co your thoughts on this.
I used to work in the ICU and I can tell you that what’s involved in keeping that woman’s body alive just so she can be used as an incubator is nothing short of horrendous.

Her body is actively trying to die and they’re doing everything they can to keep her in hell on earth just so she can be used to grow a fetus her family doesn’t even want.

The vasopressors to keep her blood pressure from bottoming out will turn her fingers and toes purple and they’ll eventually die and fall off. Why? Because vasopressors work but constricting the blood vessels and concentrating blood supply to the vital organs only. It’s a dire last resort solution that’s only intended to be used as a short term solution before the patient is stabilized or unfortunately passes on. In her case she’s gone so what they are doing is basically desecrating a corpse.

The ventilator she’s on is just a vector for all kinds of stuff to crawl down her throat and cause respiratory colonization. I guess that doesn’t matter now.

Pretty sure they have all kinds of tubes sticking out her as well. Arterial line, probably a swan ganz, fecal management systems, urinary catheter etc. risk or pressure injuries/decubitus ulcers down to the bone

Most ICU nurses will make you promise to let them go if they ever find themselves in that situation.

Ridiculous pointless torture.

During President Trump’s tour through the Middle East, the White House released daily lists of the dozens of deals it said he had secured during his visits.

However, at least half a dozen of the contracts were announced before Trump even took office in January, according to a Post review. https://wapo.st/3S4Bkaa

The Liar in chief.. grin angry
He lies so easily and effortlessly. It’s shocking.
Imaging having to pause and verify every single sentence that comes out of his mouth because no one with common sense can take a single thing he says at face value.

He literally just lied about brokering a peace deal between India and Pakistan as if those who countries won’t come out and deny it. He just hopes that if he tells 300 lies and he only gets challenged on 150 of them, the remaining 150 lies will get unnoticed and slide into existence as accepted “facts”

What a douchey awful man.

The US president made similar claims over the next few days. On Wednesday, Trump again said he had "brokered" a deal between India and Pakistan.

“Just days ago, my administration successfully brokered a historic ceasefire to stop the escalating violence between India and Pakistan, and I used trade to a large extent to do it,” he said. “I said, fellas, come on, let’s make a deal. Let’s do some trading. Let’s not trade nuclear missiles. Let’s trade the things that you make so beautifully,” he added.

However, these claims were strongly rejected by India.

The external affairs ministry issued a detailed six-point rebuttal denying any US mediation or trade leverage in the ceasefire agreement.

They clarified that the ceasefire was achieved directly through military-to-military channels between the Directors General of Military Operations of India and Pakistan, without any involvement of trade discussions or US threats.

India also rejected Trump's suggestion of third-party mediation on Kashmir, reaffirming that Kashmir is a bilateral issue to be resolved only between India and Pakistan.

Amid this pushback, President Trump appeared to moderate his earlier statements.

Trump negotiated a ceasefire between India and Pakistan? This is why bold faced disgusting lies need to be called out.

Trump claimed he negotiated a cease fire.

India immediately stepped up and denied any Trump involvement in the ceasefire. They even went on the news and lambasted him for lying.

He immediately backed down and said he didn’t want to claim that he negotiated the ceasefire but “he helped”.

The relentless bold faced lying doesn’t get exhausting? I would seriously question any dealings I have with people who lie so easily and smoothly

Pretty sure Nazi Germans kept better records than these bumbling ijits

The punishment for crossing a border (an imaginary line by trump’s own admission) should not be death. It’s cruel and unusual punishment. If you see nothing wrong with it, you’re scum.

All against her family’s wish.

As a woman, I’m supposed to support such a cruel act because I bought into the propaganda of the conservatives caring about women?

Mind you the family is going to be responsible for this bill. The fetus most like won’t survive as it has hydrocephalus (fluid in its brain).

And most importantly if the fetus if it makes it to baby stage will be abandoned as soon as it’s delivered because any social program that could help them succeed in life is automatically labeled as a handout there’s it’s bad.

The party of callous cruelty strikes again
An Atlanta woman has been kept on life support for over three months, despite being declared brain dead, due to strict abortion laws in the state of Georgia. Adriana Smith, a 30-year-old nurse and mother, was nine weeks pregnant when she suffered severe headaches in February and visited a hospital for help. According to her mother, April Newkirk, staff gave her medication but failed to conduct crucial scans, including a CT scan, which might have detected the blood clots later found in her brain.

The following morning, Smith’s boyfriend found her unresponsive and struggling to breathe. She was rushed to hospital, where doctors discovered extensive brain damage caused by multiple clots. Though surgery was considered, it was already too late. Smith was pronounced brain dead shortly afterwards.

Yet, because of Georgia’s abortion ban, doctors have been legally required to keep Smith alive to allow the foetus to reach viability. The law, known as the LIFE Act or “Heartbeat Bill” bans abortions once a foetal heartbeat is detected, usually around six weeks. While exceptions exist for medical emergencies, Smith’s condition reportedly falls into a legal grey area. As she is already brain dead, doctors argue she is no longer considered at risk, and the pregnancy must be maintained until at least 32 weeks.

[b]Her mother describes the experience as a living nightmare. “It’s torture for me. I see my daughter breathing through machines, but she’s not there,” Newkirk said. “And her son—he thinks she’s just sleeping.” The family now faces the heartbreaking possibility that the baby, if born, could face severe health issues.

Newkirk stressed that the most painful part is not having the choice. “This decision should’ve been left to us. We might not have ended the pregnancy, but not having the option is the hardest part.” Smith is currently 21 weeks pregnant, with doctors hoping to sustain her body for another 11 weeks.
