Terry Moran’s interview with trump was a striking example of steadfast, hard-nosed journalism under pressure. Despite trump’s repeated attempts to undermine Moran’s credibility-going so far as to claim he’d “never heard of” the veteran journalist and accusing him of being “not very nice”-Moran pressed forward with pointed, substantive questions on contentious topics including tariffs, mass deportations, and presidential authority.

When the discussion turned to Kilmar Abrego Garcia’s tattoos, Moran did not back down in the face of trump’s insistence that the tattoos were clear evidence of gang affiliation, even as trump dismissed Moran’s corrections about the image being photoshopped. Moran’s willingness to challenge misinformation directly, rather than letting the president’s assertions go unchallenged, exemplified a commitment to truth and accountability that is too often missing from high-profile political interviews.

Throughout the exchange, Moran maintained composure and focus, refusing to be derailed by personal attacks or attempts at intimidation. In a time where so many figures in the media are intimidated by trump, his performance set a high standard for journalistic integrity and courage-demonstrating that the rest of the media could learn much from his unwavering pursuit of the facts, even when confronted by the most powerful figures. Bravo to this brave man! 🙌

Bemeruca who supports racists in Trump and MAGA and himself spouts racist stuff is surprised that people are being motivated by racism?
I can't.
If that’s not being intentionally obtuse I don’t know what is. I guess good morning to him then. Since he’s just waking up to the reality of racism in America. When we said it, we were being victims undecided

🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽

When immigrants move to America and support conservatives it’s usually for one of the reasons they’re running away from.

Corrupt big manism. Lawlessness on the part of elected officials. Religious or ethnic bigotry of some sort.

It’s usually never for the reasons that made their new country desirable to them in the first place.

Someone needs to study this.

Ijebosc:
But you are partially right. The culture of corruption, dearth of due process and Judicial review that seem to have been ingrained in you from your time in Nigeria, we don't need in the US.
If you think it is ok that you can be arrested on a whim or because you have tattoos or because someone with money decides so, you should move back to Nigeria and enjoy that justice there.

You keep trashing Nigeria. What's hilarious is that what makes Nigeria bad is the attitude you espouse here.
You left Nigeria and brought along with you the worst of it.

Pick up the constitution, read it and assimilate to the US's Justice culture. You should have already done that.
So when you next land in Nigeria, you are bringing with you a better way of Justice, not when you come to the US, bring the corruption and terrible practices of Nigeria.

Did she tell you she is okay with it.
He’s fishing for useless back and forth.
Ordinary people including comedians can do anything and call it a joke and those who find the joke sensitive will simply overlook it. Also it is not every joke from comedians we find funny. But the problem is if someone or people who should know better carry out the same mockery in the name of joke or humor, then a serious concern will be raised. I'm sure you saw the outrage that also followed “The Last Supper” part of the theatrical opening ceremony at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Anybody or any comedian can act or dress like the pope, but this is not expected of a serious organization or The POTUS. Like happney65 wrote, 'imagine an Obama doing that'.
We’re in a dearth of common sense if something like this has to be explained. The president of the United States has no standards to be held to is the summary of their stupid defenses of his asinine behavior. But then why is that surprising? This is at the bottom of the egregious things he’s ever done. Comparatively this is nothing for him.

Christians are largely tolerant and will not kill or cause violent because someone makes mockery of Christ or the religion, that doesn't make it right to mock the religion. Trump should humor me by dressing like an imam holding the Quran during the comin Eid for solidarity with Muslims.
Funny thing is they’re usually the first to use this line of argument about how Christian’s are so tolerant. Now this is suddenly okay. Anywhere belle face hypocrites

If you think its not a joke, then what do you think it is?
Pls don’t get confused. I don’t not think it’s a joke.

I think it’s a stupid tasteless joke. I don’t find such crassness funny. If you’re laughing, carry on. I don’t have control over what you do with your sense of humor.

You’re free to find it funny. I’m free to think it’s stupid and won’t be validating the stupidity by kikiing about it.

If a democrat did this, republicans would’ve started their “war on Christianity propaganda” BS.
Foreign Affairs › Re: American Politics Thread: 2026 Midterm Elections Live! by cococandy(f):
Yea Raum said it’s a joke. We’re too sensitive for seeing how tasteless it is. I’m a catholic by birth so obviously I recognize right away how disrespectful it is.

He thinks if people act so sensitive they deserve to be mocked for it. But more of the religious folks are on their side of the political divide so who exactly do they think they’re mocking by doing this? It can’t be Democrats obviously.

It’s like a humiliation ritual he’s putting his catholic followers through.

Not just Obama but Imagine any democrat doing this and the “war on Christianity” propaganda messaging republicans would’ve been doing by now. They’re such tireless hypocrites.

Pam Bondi claims trump’s administration has seized 22 million pills of fentanyl thereby saving 258 million lives in 100 days. You guys should be grateful because if not for Trump, 258 million Americans would’ve died since January 20th. That’s 3/4 of the population. 3/4 of American residents on this thread would no longer be with us now.

Everyone in America is clearly on fentanyl. I must be the only one who didn’t get the memo.

I watched it too. She was damn near throwing a tantrum trying to convince us that the president has the right to bypass the constitution

The hypocrisy is insane. So every president going forward will be justified to go against the constitution as it serves them? Are they going to be okay with that when it’s a democrat in charge? That’s how you know they don’t think beyond 5 seconds into the future.

Truly a bad look for CNN. Can’t platform deranged idiats with a hope for conversation. Somehow validating their insanity as if it’s a valid argument worth having

IjeBos:
I saw this last night and I was stunned that people could come on TV and lie or just not understand what they were talking about.
The fact the Abby Phillip had to ask the woman if she understood that everyone in this country is guaranteed due process by the Constitution is insane.

It reminds me this is all MAGA hears all the time every day.
This was a bad look for CNN.
Scott Jennings and this Batya woman show never been booked on this show.
If they want conservatives on the show, they should find principled people who actually know what they are talking about.

I wish someone would have asked Scott or Batya, how do you know if someone is a gang banger or here iillegally without due process?
Are there signs on people's head that say illegal or gang banger? Yeah we know what MAGA think those signs are (brown skinned people).

I thought they were only concerned about illegal immigration?
Those of you African immigrants that support them, why not show your full support and just do what they want you to do? That is to leave. Since you love them so much and you want to help the country save money, just pack your bags, get on a flight and go. No need waiting for the deportation to happen. You can save them the cost of deporting you and make America a little whiter.

Trump’s proposal to remove federal income taxes for individuals earning less than $150,000/year would impact 93% of Americans aged 15 and over, who earn less than that in a year…

IF (and that’s a big if, considering that we are no longer hearing the “no tax on tips” proposal 😂) the Republican Congress eventually passes this measure, and Trump signs it into law, just watch his poll numbers significantly rebound.
He just says whatever sounds good in the moment so he can buy himself one week of goodwill at a time.
When his horde of followers forget. He goes back to regularly scheduled programming.

Nobody knows whether Garciahas tattoos if ms-13. Assume Trump was wrong about tattoos. That means Garcia is not a gang member?
No. What it means is that he deserved due process. That’s literally the standard way to determine who does or doesn’t deserve life in prison. If nobody knows whether or not he’s a gang member, then the correct thing would be to certify that in all absolute certainty before sentencing him to life/death in prison.

That is the simple common sense argument you people have been jumping all over the place pretending not to understand.

If someone who we’re not exactly sure of what they did wrong can be sentenced in such a way, anyone can. Guilt or innocence doesn’t matter anymore. It’s that simple.

Don’t be an ASSumer. Maybe watch the video.

Trump is allowed to fumble AKA tell bold faced lies and insist on them when confronted.

But anyone to refuses to go along with the lie has derangement syndrome.

Are you people well? 🥲🥲🥲

bemeruca:
Hmmm. I haven't seen the video. Given that y'all have been lying for a gang member, I can only assume you guys were talking about all the tattoos on his knuckle. But yeah, trump is allowed to fumble. Most of the first set of people to ever work with him in his first administration all quit or left. They have been up close and seen there’s no reasoning with him. That’s why this time around he chose his fellow lunatics who will agree with or turn a blind eye to everything he does.

Do you think anyone can tell him the truth? They’ll just ignore him to act like the petulant child he acts like, while manipulating his narcissistic personality for their own benefit. Tell him what he wants to hear. Photoshop one or two things. Tell him the photoshop is fact and get him to sign something that benefits you. Rinse and repeat.

ObaIgwe1:
This shows the kind of people working with him. Imagine how they are turning the most powerful office in the world to a butt of joke. Shame!
