Rev Sean Rowe’s statement on the white afrikaners migration policy.
@bold, same thing happened to black folks who joined the war to fight for America after having been enslaved by same country. After their military service, they were discarded. Denied of benefits that white solders were entitled to. Today the descendants of the white soldiers who got a step up in life are obviously doing better than the descendants of their black colleagues. Kids of the black soldiers had to start afresh. They didn’t have parents who had their own retirement plans, houses they could pass on to them, education funds etc. that’s the systemic racism we talk about in America. It’s an inherently racist country & talking about it doesn’t make one a victim. It shines a light on a problem that can only start to be solved by acknowledgment in the first place.
Dear People of God in The Episcopal Church:
I am writing today with some significant news about Episcopal Migration Ministries, the organization that leads The Episcopal Church’s refugee resettlement ministry.
Since January, the previously bipartisan U.S. Refugee Admissions Program in which we participate has essentially shut down. Virtually no new refugees have arrived, hundreds of staff in resettlement agencies around the country have been laid off, and funding for resettling refugees who have already arrived has been uncertain. Then, just over two weeks ago, the federal government informed Episcopal Migration Ministries that under the terms of our federal grant, we are expected to resettle white Afrikaners from South Africa whom the U.S. government has classified as refugees.
In light of our church’s steadfast commitment to racial justice and reconciliation and our historic ties with the Anglican Church of Southern Africa, we are not able to take this step. Accordingly, we have determined that, by the end of the federal fiscal year, we will conclude our refugee resettlement grant agreements with the U.S. federal government.
I want to be very clear about why we made this decision—and what we believe lies ahead for Episcopal Migration Ministries’ vital work.
It has been painful to watch one group of refugees, selected in a highly unusual manner, receive preferential treatment over many others who have been waiting in refugee camps or dangerous conditions for years. I am saddened and ashamed that many of the refugees who are being denied entrance to the United States are brave people who worked alongside our military in Iraq and Afghanistan and now face danger at home because of their service to our country . I also grieve that victims of religious persecution, including Christians, have not been granted refuge in recent months.
As Christians, we must be guided not by political vagaries, but by the sure and certain knowledge that the kingdom of God is revealed to us in the struggles of those on the margins. Jesus tells us to care for the poor and vulnerable as we would care for him, and we must follow that command. Right now, what that means is ending our participation in the federal government’s refugee resettlement program and investing our resources in serving migrants in other ways
armyofone: Did you read of the S. Africans arrival?
Not sure why they preventing one group from coming while allowing another. What are they up to ?
Make ala ocha, chan again ?
Since they are the poor ones, I wonder if they will be sent to work on corn farm or grape yard.
They are welcome to the land of no free lunch.
Good ole RAYCISM. What else?
Well now I guess using taxpayer funds to house immigrants isn’t such a bad thing after all.
I wonder if they will be subject to paying hundreds of billions in taxes while being ineligible for social security, food stamps & housing assistance etc like other immigrants have been subjected to. All while being smeared by the right as a drain on the society.
ObaIgwe1: Time will tell these things.... Just that when the full results become evident, Trump might not be in power again and another democrat will have to clean the mess and possibly take the fall .
The problem is that they know. Their willingness to abandon truth at the drop of a hat is what makes them fundamentally different from the rest of the population.
nateevs: What is funny is all of them acting like this is shocker. I have been on record telling them he's all about the money and nothing but the money. He's a conman. Always has been. But they tell you it's STD or whatever they call it.
If instead of the November elections, a question was asked........ Qatar gifts President Trump a Boeing 747, would he or would he not accept it? 74m people would have voted.....No, he wouldn't.
This is the size of the delusion you have in America now.
The likes of Dave Smith will have you believe that all Trump's cabinet nominations were perfect. [b]Now same people have suddenly lost their amnesia and now pointing out that the AG was a known foreign asset of Qatar. When we were saying the exact same thing, they said we were fear-mongering.
benalvino3: Schrizofrenia could be an issue with liberals and when you couple that with TDS it is constant crying on social media. Just look at them. From IjeBos to natee
nateevs: It is a lie. Trump does not want to bring manufacturing to the US. If he did, he wouldn't put a 145% tarriff on Chinese exports to the US but sign an EO for exemption on electronic goods from same Country.
If he did have the intent to re-establish manufacturing in the US, he would start with internal industrial policies that encourage and entice manufacturers to move manufacturing to the US.
Name one single industrial policy you know about that has been enacted in this craze?
In a twisted world of lack of understanding of economic matters, what you don't know is that industrialisation policies are unpinned by huge government investments. Basically, throwing money at it....... which is basically Socialism........
But I see you arguing against socialism in another post.
This is why you guys are all clowns. You do not understand what you voted for, you don't understand what Trump is doing now and what he intends to do. You don't know how things works......at all!
nateevs: Sharap! You think you are talking to MAGATs. The US lost manufacturing jobs to China because of the institution and perpetuation of capitalism to the last letter, the desire and embracement of cheap consumer goods, and the fundamental desire for the dollar to become the world's reserve currency.
It is nobody else's fault. It is all your fault.
And funny enough this is something he supports. That’s why I stopped arguing with him about it. Unbridled capitalism led to decline of US manufacturing.
How can you say you love greed because it fuels the economy & somehow blame the fact that wealthy manufacturers are moving labor abroad to get cheap labor on the opposing political party? No they’re leaving because how dare we tell them to treat their workers like humans? They will outsource labor to aliens in space if it means cheaper costs. And he will be right there cheering on the good old greed.
Labor can be performed in America. You just have pay the workers American wages which will eat into the manufacturers’ profits. We don’t have universal healthcare. So the employer would have to provide healthcare. They’d have to be given leave and sick time as needed. What about maternity leave? We can’t have that because we didn’t force anyone to have babies (insert side eye) What about safety regulations?
All of these are things he’s against because it “stifles manufacturing”. Yet in the same breath he wants manufacturing to be brought back to the US. How does one reconcile that thought process?
IjeBos: So I wonder, how is that correctable by the Dems? Seems like it's going to be a tough uphill battle.
People who have kids that probably want to grow up to be scientists are cheering for him as he defunds the scientific community & you think we can communicate with them? There’s no communicating with crazy.
I don’t want to be pessimistic but there’s nothing that needs to be said that hasn’t been said. I’d be extremely happy to be wrong about this but I don’t think I am. Nothing terrible he’s done so far has been too bad for them. He can’t do much worse IMO.
They will listen & learn only when they are good and ready to. Not a moment before. Using Logic, pointing out the blatant lies and their in-your-face hypocrisy won’t do it.
Their learning can only be triggered by extreme personal suffering. But as soon as they get comfortable, they’ll become their usual selves. These people have always existed in some form in every society that has come & gone.
That’s why “good people” stood by watching Hitler do what he did. He was elected and had support right until the very end. To his supporters, he was putting his country first. Increasing national pride and saving them from a bad economy. While they are in it, they can’t see it unfortunately.
In fact I’d call this a gift. The fact that he’s so unoriginally pulling moves from past dictators. You just have to look at whatever has happened in the past, pull a few lessons from it and put measures in place (whatever that looks like for you) so that you are not badly affected at the end of it.
IjeBos: That's why they are so effective. They actively manipulate the news to their gullible base.
Compare how many stories they ran about the son of the President and made up bribery allegations to the actual President taking a 400 million dollar jet from a Middle Eastern Country.' They would have impeached Biden/Trump/Clinton and everyone in their administration.
Exactly.
They’re effective at appealing to the easily-swayed-by-propaganda dregs of society. Not one of them will question this gift and what the security implications are. If anything, they’ll spin it as “oh we’re so wonderful the whole world wants to give us gifts and worship our dear leader with us”. All hail the king. 😅😅
But let a 10th of this be done by their opponents, then suddenly they are capable of seeing what’s wrong with the situation. It’s like to become MAGA, it’s required for one to be able to abandon their thinking faculties at the drop of a hat.
nateevs: In MAGA land I imagine your explanation is genius.
In the real world though, we are looking like wtf? You create a self-inflicted crisis that grinds international trade to a halt. Create a business environment that lowers business forecast to no longer than 90 days. Send many businesses into bankruptcy during the period of 145% tariff hike. Lose jobs as a result. Erode trust in American bi-lateral trade. Devalue the dollar. Take the country to the brink of recession. Unite countries that previously didn't talk much trade, strengthen the case for BRICS.
.... All whilst never achieving anything he set out to achieve.
It's great to live in the real world fella.
Set the house on fire. Call the fire department and then pat yourself on the back because at least the whole house wasn’t burnt to ashes before you called them.
ObaIgwe1: Lol. Are you sure her account has not been hacked? 😂
No she does have moments where she acts like she’s coming to her senses and then boom so close to the point, she loses the plot all over again. Only to find it some months or weeks after. Rinse and repeat
IjeBos: Republicans can't really let this happen, can they?
They absolutely will. And if you point out the ludicrousness of it all, they’ll say it’s liberal tears. You’re just jealous of our fun new plane
The airforce would have to rip apart every part of that plane to make sure there is no spy equipment in it.
If Trump tells them not to, they won’t. Anyone (Air Force personnel) who insists on doing a proper independent safety check on it will quickly be labeled enemy of the state according to Trump. And his lobotomized followers fall in line accordingly. Expecting a different response from them now would actually be tantamount to madness. They’ve shown who they are. I believe them and I have no hope for the return of sanity.
I'm gobsmacked here. I hope Roberts is happy.
Same. Everyone else can see what a clown and easily impressed buffoon he is. Wonder how the meeting went. “Let’s give him a means of transportation decked in gold so that he will be flattered.” And obviously we want nothing in return (wink wink).😉
IjeBos: And this is from the emoluments clause in the Constitution. Trump at this point is wiping his a$$ with the constitution. He seems to hate America.
You can’t even accept a gift over $100 if you work for the federal govt. They harp on it so much and make you do this training every year. But here we are
happney65: They are bringing only white south Africans in on Monday. Their so called fight against inlegal immigration is all a smokescreen. They only want white people to come to America. They don't want to see black and brown people. And so called Black People are supporting this nonsense
What a Pity for them ooo
And all the “handouts” they claim illegal immigrants are taking from away the American people are going to be freely given to these guys. Never mind that undocumented immigrants paid 96 billion dollars in taxes last year not including sales taxes because that doesn’t look at anyone’s immigration status. Yet they claim undocumented immigrants are the drain on the society. Now watch these white people effortlessly get the protection and provisions of Uncle Sam.
Let me see how Raum is going to spin this one. He’s so big on how his tax money should only be spent on giving billionaires like Elon tax cuts. Now it’s going to be used to prop up average Afrikaners from SA. Wonder if skin color or social status will be the breaking point of how far he supports his tax dollars to go in giving handouts.
They’re really just being intentionally obtuse at this point. No way anyone is really this dense. This has to be political theater.
It’s just a word? Coming from a white Person against you a black man? Just a word?
What next? Whips and chain, unleashed hounds and slave masters on horseback? Oh wait, those are just objects too.
Good gracious!
nateevs: You make a mockery of the freedom you enjoy as a black man when you think Matt Walsh has a point. He specifically said "it's just a word".
For the love of God, even if you don't have children, you must have cousins, nephews, nieces, who will be living in this world when you leave it behind? Would you want them living in a world where we return to the normalisation of the N word, because "it's just a word"?
What is wrong with you guys?
Before now, I didn't know about any back story fueled this. Quite frankly, for me, it's immaterial. If there was any racial tone to it, it should be condemned, just as Shiloh Hendrix should be condemned. Shiloh said "I called the child just what he was"
There is no justification in this world for you or anyone to justify the use of the N....Word against your kind, because these guys don't ask you if you own a Red Cap before calling you that as well.
This is Lilly Gaddis doubling down, in support of Shiloh on the Piers Morgan show only 4 days ago. I found a short of just some of the things she said. In her words, "I want to help white people achieve real freedom of speech"
You think these guys asked first if the father of the 5yo voted for Trump? You guys are not ready for what's coming.
Isn’t amazing? I have a kid around that age. Imagine excusing a grown adult calling kids that age hateful words. Just so I can score some internet talking points? Lord have mercy.
nateevs: Hehe. Keep up with the selective analysis.
Sir, you have no idea what you are doing. I keep telling you, everyday you excuse this nonsense, you are bringing it closer to your doorstep.
Did you see Matt Walsh's response to Shiloh Hendrix's raising of over $500k, after calling a 5 year old a N****h at a children's park?
He (Matt), said he hopes she goes on to raise $750k .... after all, "it's just a word".
These are the people whose excesses you are not just tolerating, but deliberately obfuscating. They think you and your children are N***s you hurt them, but they also think it's just a word when they say it.
IjeBos: They are calling the pope "Woke"? Wait until they finally open their Bibles and read about that guy Jesus from Nazareth.
Jesus was unarguably the wokest historical religious figure of his time.
You know the Republicans of today are the biblical Pharisees of Bible times. Ever so loud about their fake “righteousness”. As long as all appearances of external holiness are met, they don’t care what evils they cover up or support.
As you all know, I’m very critical of the church especially the Catholic Church. As a Catholic born and raised, I saw and experienced the harms of religious bigotry/hypocrisy first hand. This is a pope I can actually get behind. The maga tears about him help smoothen the process ngl.
Trump supporters When will it be enough for you guys? When he takes away the oxygen you breathe? Who am I kidding? you’ll probably be choking on hot ashes and still sing his praises.
You guys know that if he has his way with this, your citizenship or green card means nothing. I mean due process usually means you would be given a chance to prove that you’re a citizen. Guess what? No such chances are going to be given to you.
AmazonTopaz: Same here. I was annoyed when I heard it was an American but he seems humane so time will tell. MAGA seems to hate him already and that makes me happy.
Yep. You know they’ll claim they’re not racist or prejudiced but when someone calls for fairness/justice for everyone, they get upset and call them social justice warriors. As if that’s an insult
This is from team “we want only the best. No DEI hires”. Literal shame on all of you who were here foaming at the mouth about merit. Very stupid and embarrassing.
President Trump's choice of Dr. Casey Means, a Los Angeles holistic medicine doctor and wellness influencer, as his nominee for surgeon general appears to mark another attempt to defy establishment medicine and longstanding federal policy.
Trump portrayed Means — a 37-year-old Stanford medical school graduate and author who describes herself on LinkedIn as a “former surgeon turned metabolic health evangelist" — in his announcement as fully in sync with Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s mission to "Make America Healthy Again."
“Casey has impeccable 'MAHA' credentials, and will work closely with our wonderful Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., to ensure a successful implementation of our Agenda in order to reverse the Chronic Disease Epidemic, and ensure Great Health, in the future, for ALL Americans,” Trump said in a statement on Truth Social.
Some have raised questions about Means' credentials. Although she graduated from medical school, she is not an active doctor licensed to practice medicine.
After graduating from Stanford, Means was nearly 4½ years into a five-year physician residency to be a head and neck surgeon at Oregon Health & Science University when she dropped out.
Let’s see what the department of waste and fraud have to say about this taxpayer funded $100 million birthday parade for Trump. Now we will know if they are honest or not.
Democratic star Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett enrages MAGA world by unveiling a new "game" called "Trump or trans" during a hearing to prove her point about who's really hurting American families.
The funniest part was when she unveiled her prop...
"I want to play a game. It's called 'Trump or trans.' You ready? So I'm going to ask you a question and I want you to tell me whether or not it is Trump or trans people that are responsible, you understand?" Crockett said to Fatima Goss Graves, president and CEO of the National Women’s Law Center.
Goss Graves was testifying before the House Oversight Subcommittee on DOGE to voice her opposition to the Trump administration's ongoing attacks on trans people.
"Got it," Goss Graves replied to Crockett.
"The first one: Gutted medical research?" asked Crockett.
"Trump," replied Goss Graves.
The two went back and forth from there—
"Kidnapping Americans and sending them to foreign countries AKA deporting them?" asked Crockett.
"Trump."
"Driving us into a recession?"
"Trump."
"Increasing the cost of everything?"
"Trump."
"Waging an idiotic tariff war?"
"Trump."
"Harming farmers?"
"Trump."
"Ignoring the Constitution?"
"Trump."
"Proposing to take away Social Security?"
"Trump."
"Cutting healthcare?"
"Trump."
"Firing government workers who keep our country safe?"
"Trump."
"Encouraging an environment of hate and divisiveness?"
"Trump."
"Thank you so much," said Crockett. "This committee could be engaged in actual oversight of fraud, waste, abuse, and mismanagement. So let's talk about waste..."
"Like Trump's plan to spend almost $100 million for his little birthday parade," she continued. "Or how he spent 25% of his first 100 days golfing, costing taxpayers tens of millions of dollars. In fact, it's a little bit over $30 million at our last estimation."
At this point, the Congresswoman unveiled a hilarious image of Trump golfing with his wasteful expenses catalogued beside it.
"In fact, President Trump is on pace to spend more than a billion dollars of taxpayer dollars just on golfing. Yet the Republicans have been silent," said Crockett. "So they must think spending taxpayer dollars on the president's golfing trips is more important than providing healthcare to their constituents."
This is an absolute slam dunk from Crockett. She's correct that the MAGA hyper-fixation on demonizing and scapegoating transgender people is a pathetic effort to distract from the fact that Republicans are robbing us blind and trashing our country.
Trans people didn't put these disastrous tariffs in place and crater our economy.
Let’s pray he will be as strong or even stronger advocate against injustice than pope Francis was.
It fills my heart with deep joy and renewed hope to know that our new Pope, Robert Prevost, is a man of moral conviction, compassion, and courage. At first, I felt a weight in my spirit upon hearing he was American, fearing the influence of political agendas so often at odds with the Gospel of Christ. But reading his clear stance against injustice and his opposition to harmful policies reassured me that he is a shepherd who listens to the heart of God, not the noise of power.
If he has also raised his voice against the suffering of the innocent no matter where it happens, even in the face of global controversy then he stands not only as a leader of the Catholic Church, but as a beacon of truth in a world so hungry for light.
This is a victory for all of humanity for Catholics, Christians of every denomination, and people of conscience everywhere. In times where many claim the name of Christ but betray His message of mercy, humility, and love, it is a blessing to have a leader who reflects the heart of Jesus. Not a follower of political cults or nationalistic pride, but a servant of the Gospel.
May God grant Pope Robert Prevost wisdom, strength, and unwavering grace. And may we, too, rise with him in love, justice, and truth united not by the divisions of doctrine or nation, but by the unshakable call to love God and love one another.
