dominique:That’s the problem with electing a man like Trump. We’re left to hope that he or his appointees don’t do something that risks our lives and the lives of the children. That’s not the quality of a leader. A leader is someone we can trust to be level headed, make good decisions and follow scientifically proven principles. BTW every dangerous executive order he signs or bill his Republican colleagues pass will be something they already said they were going to do. And people refused to listen when they were told not to support them. “Oh he’s just saying that. He doesn’t mean it that way”. The next moment they’re saying “he speaks his mind and tells it like it is”. He’s either a man of his words or he’s just a joker who we shouldn’t take seriously. It can’t be both. I’m going to go with he’s a man of his words. And his words are dangerous for the future of America. |
@bold, yes. it has always been this way. In Nigeria we called them deaf and dumb kids and just went our way. Everyone knew one deaf or dumb kid. We all knew one weird kid that was different but no one had a name for it. We have all sorts of behavioral issues with kids in Nigeria. We don’t label them. That’s why it seems like the prevalence is higher abroad. You can’t solve a problem you didn’t identify. Because America identifies this problem and tries to solve it doesn’t mean vaccines are causing more issues here than anywhere else. Remember a lot of children died in their infancy before the advent of preventative vaccinations. I’m not willing to risk any deadly illness that can be prevented. dominique: |
All the vaccines kids are receiving today are the same ones we received in Nigeria except for the flu vaccine. We just give different doses of the same vaccines at different intervals because some of them have to be received at least two to three times to get the full dose. This includes measles vaccine (covers measles, chickenpox, mumps and rubella), Polio, Hep B series, Tdap (covers whooping cough, diphtheria and typhus) We get all this in Nigeria. At least I got them because my mom made sure we all did. In fact we get more vaccines in Nigeria than they do here ( TB and smallpox vaccines are not given in America but we get them in Nigeria). 1) correlation is not causation. Are there more incidences of mental health issues or are we getting better at diagnosing them? We complain of mental healthcare deficiencies in our country but we are now demonizing vaccines for the ability of another country to provide adequate diagnoses and treatment? 2) if vaccines are causing mental health issues, why are kids in Nigeria not suffering from them too? maybe we’re not providing our kids with adequate mental health services. We just call them stubborn or lazy and beat it out of them. When they could just be depressed or have attention deficit disorders. Either way, there’s no proof of vaccines causing mental health problems. This is anti vax propaganda. And I truly hope we don’t go back the plague and Black Death era. People have forgotten too quickly how these diseases wiped out millions of people before we got vaccines. I saw some right winged women creators on the internet demonizing pasteurization of milk. (Louis Pasteur is rolling in his grave). She was lying that it’s adding chemicals to milk . Meanwhile it’s just the use of heat to kill harmful bacteria. They want to be Fulani herdsmen so badly. There’s so much anti-education, anti-teacher, anti-science and anti-healthcare worker propaganda from the right wing. I have no idea what they hope to achieve with this misinformation. Except a less educated proletariat that will be easy to sway with non factual information. If they hate progress so much, why don’t they just go back to stone age? dominique: |

Nairaland is really a den of ignorant people This man wants to pause funding on infectious diseases for 8 years. 8 years! So while the rest of the world is making progress in infectious diseases control, America will be sliding back to the stone ages with children going back to being sick with polio, small pox and the likes. Stuff that we already eradicated as a first world country. And cherry on the cake, he’s an anti vax nut case God help you all. Such a collection of brainless idiots |
How can I prove he’s picking incompetent men? It’s clear to me you guys are hellbent on not taking any fact into account when having these conversations. It’s looking like bad faith argument at this point rather than a sincere attempt at conversation. You could’ve simply looked this up. For example he wants to pick RFK Junior for health secretary. This man has no health credentials, experience or scientific background. RFK is against vaccines ( so we’ll go back to kids in iron lungs instead of thriving in schools). We’ll go back to fighting widespread measles and smallpox. These are things we thought we had overcome as a first world country now we have to start worrying about them again. Just because Trump doesn’t want a real scientist in that position who might challenge him if he tells people to inject bleach to cure Covid like he did during the pandemic. Like I said before. Pls read up on some of these things before giving me the job of proving things to you. You’re right. Time will tell. In the meantime, children will be dying of preventable diseases because of proud ignorant men. Callosobruchus:

Callosobruchus:This is not a regular election. Voting for preferred candidates has never been an issue between friends much less married couples. Republicans and democrats used to come together after elections, respect each other and try to work together. That went out the window with Trump. In fact, most people on a normal day don’t give AF about politics. And most of us belong in that category. Once he goes away and a new less disgusting republican leader comes along, I might even stop caring about politics once again. But if you live with a partner that you think you know and they support someone similar to Hitler or that North Korean dictator, you will surely question how well you know this person you thought you knew. Before you say “oh he’s not like those other guys”, pls I’m begging you to look stuff up before replying. As we speak he’s picking incompetent yes men to staff his cabinet so they can’t question him when he’s going against the law. I would find it extremely difficult to have admiration much less sexual desire for a partner who can’t reason critically about important issues. It’s not a reconcilable difference in my opinion. Where I blame her is that she must have know he leans this way. It’s hard to hide that type of mentality. Maybe she thought this time around he’ll surely see that it’s gone too far and maybe not vote for him. Guess she underestimated the power of the herd. |
maasoap:That’s how many of them vote against their interests. His parents are on disability and he’s voting for Trump just to “own the libs”. Now he’s got what he wanted. I hope he has money to support his parents when Trump cuts funding to whatever disability benefit they’re on. She won’t have a discussion, she says nothing will change her mind Insists she is going to report my parents because they live off of disability but my dad does some cash work auto repair, so now I’m worried for my while family |
writeprof:Only a dubious person would equate Trump to anything that has to do with God. |
legitnow1:And yet you people are being sore winners all over the place. ![]() Still campaigning and trying to convince yourselves |
legitnow1:Okay boss. When are you going to find a right wing woman for yourself and stop hyperventilating over what leftist women are doing? |
legitnow1:I’m sure her man doesn’t think like you. Nor does he support a rapist . That’s the difference |
If he acted like you or voted for Trump, he wouldn’t be getting it. I don’t know why men like you have a problem with evil feminist women when there are so many conservative/republican/“traditional” women you can get with. I don’t get it legitnow1: |
Susily: legitnow1:Trump’s last terms caused tax increases for middle the class. He’s on track for his next term to keep those same tax laws which had more middle class families paying more than the billionaires in effect rate. For the first time in my adult years paying taxes, I owed taxes despite not claiming my kids as deductible. It increased hardship for poorer people but conservatives don’t like to be sincere about what’s hurting them. https://www.cbpp.org/research/federal-tax/the-2017-trump-tax-law-was-skewed-to-the-rich-expensive-and-failed-to-deliver Construction costs skyrocketed in his tenure. Because of steel tariffs and tariffs that he placed on Canadian lumber. That exacerbated the housing crisis we’re still battling now. Fuel cost increased because he negotiated a decrease in petrol production to favor his oil tycoon friends. Biden has all but brought it back down (not 100%) but it’s much better now. Trump’s presidency will cause havoc in price increases. People who say they support him for the economy are either ignorant or liars. https://apnews.com/article/trump-inflation-tariffs-taxes-immigration-federal-reserve-a18de763fcc01557258c7f33cab375ed Trump insists that the cost of taxing imported goods is absorbed by the foreign countries that produce those goods. The truth, though, is that U.S. importers pay the tariff — and then typically pass along that cost to consumers in the form of higher prices, which is how Americans themselves end up bearing the cost of tariffs. |
Apparently they’re ignorant and don’t know how economics work because he’ll make things more financially difficult at the end of the day. That’s another good reason for a divorce. A grown man who doesn’t know what he’s actually supporting is not attractive. But the good news is that there are so many republican women for these types of men to choose from ![]() Susily: |
Adewale1603:An indictment on Nigerian male adults if you ask me. Instead of looking for how to improve the future for their children and reward innovation, they’re looking for small children to sexually abuse |
Callosobruchus:. But if he loved her, he wouldn’t vote for against her wellbeing. I’m sure she feels betrayed |
Thank you. A lot Nairalanders commenting on this issue don’t get it at all. I wouldn’t stay married to a man who doesn’t have basic understanding of what the issue is. Or worse, he understands but thinks my life and health isn’t worth voting for. So many divorces coming up as we speak. They think divorce rates are high. It’s about to double. DrFunmisticGlow: |
Political difference is when we both agree that everyone is entitled to education, food, healthcare, safety and human rights but we disagree on who the leader will be to help us achieve that. But when one side believes the above and the other doesn’t, it’s not political difference anymore. It’s a difference in morality and it’s not compatible. I can’t see how a Trump supporter and non Trump supporter can stay married. He’s a sex offender and fraudster. It’s not political difference to not want to be married to someone who thinks that’s okay. It will make you question what they’re capable of if they can get away with it OT2024: |
EmperorCaesar:You guys clearly don’t know what’s going on. That’s why a lot of you are contributing to the conversation as if it’s a case of two football teams and one team lost. And it’s business as usual. His presidency is death for a lot of women who will be denied life saving care because of total abortion ban in many states. It’s happening already in red states. It’s death for women who can’t leave abusive relationships when no fault divorces are outlawed. It’s death for poor and disabled people who can’t get on expensive insurance after he guts Obamacare like he said he would. It’s disenfranchisement for special needs children who can’t get education when he dismantles the department of education like he said he would. Before you argue and say he didn’t plan to do any of this, pls I beg you to research before you reply. Use 3rd party non partisan (democrat or republican) sources. |
diamond68:Pls don’t insult our president elect and his First Lady

I’m sure it’s an elective. I don’t see what the issue is. Don’t study it if you don’t want to. No one will make you do it. It will most definitely will come in handy to students who want to go on later to become successful artists, business people, industry leaders and cultural figures. Because she’s all that and more. Learning how she did it can’t hurt. I had a whole chapter about Elvis Presley in one of my elective sociology classes. No one complained |
This is ridiculous behavior on the teacher’s part. |

Butter loaf with unbleached flour. So so good. I don’t usually make bread so I’m happy this one turned out great even though I’m out of practice
