brain54:Cool. Woke is a slang that arose from political activism around racial discrimination. As the past tense of awake, it was directed towards young black people (especially) and allies. With the intention of encouraging them to be aware and politically/socially up to date with history in order to avoid repeating mistakes of the past. Being woke is a very very good thing. 1) it’s not a pejorative (even though right wingers would love it to be). That’s why they attempt to use it as an insult. lol 2) it most certainly doesn’t have anything to do with two people choosing to or not to have kids.
|
pocohantas:If I weren’t already known to be married and have kids, I’d be randomly on here saying I don’t want kids or marriage just to see them cry.😭 The way they clutch their pearls when they hear a woman doesn’t want children is something else. Thesis upon Ted talks and analysis start to flow. Too entertaining. |
brain54:Woke doesn’t mean what you want it to just because you don’t understand what it means. I’m tired of nairalanders misusing the word. Ugh |
AmazonTopaz:You’ll see immigrant black moms with teenage boys who live in red states voting for qualified immunity for cops. Knowing that all it takes is for one Karen to cry white tears against her boy and the police won’t even ask questions before mowing him down in the streets. Then they’ll start fishing for past misdemeanor in his history to justify their actions in harming or killing him. Without the qualified immunity, they’re already getting away with so much bad behavior. The trees voting for the axe 😮💨 |
IjeBos:@bold, there are so many of them. So many. They were Googling “what’s a tariff?” after they already voted! Can’t make this up. Google saw a thousand percent increase in search on such related topics after the election including “can I change my vote?” In the states that Trump won . They’re shocked they would be the ones to pay the proposed tariffs. That their special needs children’s school programs will be losing funding etc. That they voted against their own healthcare because the name Obama was attached to it. That’s what hate does to the soul. Strips the owner of the ability to process information adequately. Because all this information was given to them in a timely manner but their hate wouldn’t let it penetrate. After they voted and “won”, they are realizing they have to live with what it was they voted for. Then they’re turning around trying to learn what it was they actually voted for. In the beginning it didn’t matter as long as they got bragging rights. Just like these ones on this forum, they are thinking of it as team sports. “My team won and your team lost na na na na” . You know like children. Meanwhile we will all be losing with Trump in office. These are prime examples of people who voted with emotions rather than logic. The only information problem we have is lack of education and that’s why Trump is coming after education hard. With department of education gone, low income families won’t be able to get grants for college. So they’ll keep being dundees who get easily distracted with propaganda

Money laundering |
This past couple years alone there have been so many recalls in the food industry all directly linked to lax regulations. Lots of hospitalized people and some even dead. All because Trump rolled back regulations for certain food and environmental corporations. He’s never not looking out for his billionaire buddies. May the rest of us be damned. These companies save money by skirting around safety rules and they know the most consequence they can get is a fine. While people die from their greed. People who have no clue how terrible this man was were asking me on election night what did he do wrong his first term that we don’t want him again. Meanwhile they know someone affected by his greed driven policies and they don’t even realize it. IjeBos:

Kukutente23:It’s giving “I have black friends” |
budaatum:Lmao |
Goke7:More so in the red states. They have lower education rates in those areas and consequently more conservative voters. Na we really do am. That’s why there’s been a targeted attack on proper education by the right wing. The whole anti woke movement was a movement started by republicans to stop kids from being taught real American history. They said it’s promoting hate against America. If the facts promote hate against you, that means you might need to change something about yourself no? That’s why you have full grown adults in red states who believe black people were treated well during slavery. Which also makes it so comical that there are black people who are anti woke. It’s like a Jewish person being pro Hitler. You don’t get such results without prolonged and relentless brain washing. |
IjeBos:They are easy to brainwash. If you want to make easy money, set up a ring light and camera and start blabbing all the right wing talking points, sell them merch and tell them the bogey man who is their neighbor is coming to harm them. It might require some lack of compunction but if you can overcome that, you’re on your way to riches. There’s absolutely no one in his cabinet that doesn’t know how awful he is. But they see an opportunity for a cash or power grab and everything they said previously flies out the window |
Flangelo12:That’s how dvmb they are |
seborrhic:There’s been systematic brain washing going on in America and it has unfortunately led to this. Right wing propaganda has long arms. It started with the demonization of college and education. As more and more people opted out of getting education, more people voted for right wing politicians. There’s a direct correlation in that the population that voted for them most were the uneducated ones. The lack of education makes them unable to follow a premise to its logical conclusion. It’s unfortunate but even online arguments and presentation of facts etc cannot solve it. The problem needs to be solved at the root and that is grassroots deprogramming. For now we just have to share a country with them and suffer the consequences of their political choices with them. How else can you be a parent with children and vote for the man who promised to dismantle the department of education? |
seborrhic:Unfortunately it’ll affect those who didn’t vote him too. Just like Tinubu’s hardship is affecting those who didn’t vote for him either. The only thing is that one side gets to say “I told you so”. However it’s not any kind of consolation at all. |

Gerard, What country do you live in? let’s google the facts of LGBTQ activities, rights and freedoms there compared to that in America. After the research maybe you will find that your time could be better spent worrying about the boogey trans people in your country of residence versus mine. You want me to ignore the politics of a man who plans to dismantle the department of education and cut affordable healthcare and veterans benefits. Things that affect me, my family and my job personally. You wanted me to vote against my wellbeing just to score some points about imaginary bathroom debacles that only happen in you guys uninformed echo chambers. This forum and the people in it sef 🫠 Gerrard59: |
Sportsweb:It’s because there’s no transgender bathroom epidemic in America. I keep telling people but they’d rather let their prejudice cloud their judgment. They are like 1% of the population in total. That’s with both trans men and women. Some of the people carrying American trans matters like gala on their head live in countries that have more rights and freedoms for LGBTQ people. America isn’t even top 10 among countries with rights for these people. It’s one of the lowest among the 1st world countries. BTW, Trans people aren’t new to the world. When did bathroom issues become a thing? Watch who brings it up in every conversation. They’re usually the right wing. They know they can stir that pot and have people running around like headless chickens all week long while ignoring the real problems that exist. Most people don’t even know a trans person in real life but we are supposed to believe they are the problem of the world right now. When literal rapists are being given powerful office. I’m not a mathematician but 1+1 is not equal to 3. |
Oh how I love well spiced eggnog ![]() armyofone: |
I understand what you’re saying. it’s a slippery slope. when one right is taken then another follows. But truly no one is taking transgender people’s rights to use bathrooms away. There are gender neutral bathrooms that everyone including them can use. Even trans people themselves are not complaining about their bathroom rights. And that’s because they have always had somewhere to go. I really wish people especially liberals will stop giving right wing propagandists time of day on this non-issue. They’ll propagandize into their echo chambers until they get tired of hearing their own voices. Then they’ll hopefully shut up and face the truth which is that they don’t have any political agenda that is designed to help the masses. This is all a distraction. There is no epidemic of bathroom problems in America. As someone who travels a lot and uses my fair share of public bathrooms, I HAVE NEVER seen or heard or read about any real occurrence of transgender people causing problems in shared spaces. UK, Canada, Netherlands etc are all measurably more progressive than America when it comes to LGBTQ issues. Yet we don’t hear their right wing parties making a hullabaloo about gender issues. People live and move on about their business without any of this American right wing drama. All the UK and Canadian diasporas on this forum don’t even know they live in a more LGBTQ approving society than America. I’m yet to see them hashing out matters of those people in their country. That’s because even with the level of rights and support LGBTQ people receive in their countries , there are rarely any problems. How much more America that’s certifiable more hostile to these people. Apart from the ones like bobrisky chasing clout online, you’ll hardly see these guys in public places trying to disturb anyone with their existence. They just live their lives and I wish people would just leave them alone. I’ll give props to American right wingers sha. They really did their thing with this propaganda. If you don’t live here you’ll think there are lines of men waiting at the door of female bathrooms waiting to go in and harass women. They’ll keep talking about trans people who are a mere fraction of a percentage of the population instead of focusing on the fact that our department of education is about to be abolished and affordable healthcare is up for dismantling. t2luv1: |

Gwenevera:Hi there. This is the closest to my recipe I can find online. I didn’t use mustard or horseradish because I don’t like either in a soup. And you can definitely sub one vegetable for the other or use what’s available in your fridge. With vegetable soups, once you make one, you can make the other https://yupitsvegan.com/root-vegetable-soup/ |
advanceDNA:If that’s what you choose to believe. That’s okay. I’ve given you the necessary and factual information. It’s up to you to do as you wish with it. |
advanceDNA:Are we in 1756? That would be a good question to ask Trump. Is it the name of the holding facility that is alarming you? Okay how about we call them detention centers? Does that make it more palatable to you? Mind you Hitler didn’t happen in 1756. That was in the 1930s. Not long ago. I’m not an alarmist. In case you didn’t know, slavery is legal in America if used as punishment for a crime. These people supposedly have committed a crime. They’ll be held in detention while awaiting deportation. Deporting millions of people won’t be an overnight process. So while they are held in captivity for their crime, they’ll be used for cheap labor. This already happens in America as we speak. Prisoners are used to manufacture things for cheap and then the companies turn around and sell them. Go and research why private for profit prisons are booming in America. They supply cheap/slave labor to corporations. He says what he’s going to do and you guys don’t believe him. Until it happens. This is why I’d love people who don’t live in the US who want to engage in these conversations to try and understand first what the underlying issues are and why people are either for or against them

MondayOmoAdugbo:I doubt that now is the time. Legal immigration to America has been tough. It’s all but non existent. The last time when it was easy (from my understanding) was around 10 years ago. I remember when I applied for green card and got it within 8 months before even leaving Nigeria. Within 2 years I qualified for citizenship and got it. All that is gone now. Even spouse visas are taking years to get. So when people are on their high horses, telling other people to do it the right way (which I agree with) but not necessarily from a place of being morally superior, they fail to acknowledge that the process is 10x more tedious than before. |
Of course it’s hard to come from Nigeria illegally to America. The only illegal Nigerians here would be those who overstayed their visas. Unlike the other immigrants who share a border with America and can “easily” get in. So these ones on here rejoicing about how their brothers and cousins are about to be deported are about to be disappointed. I wish their relatives can see their posts. But it shows how envious their hearts are. It takes stuff like this happening for one to know how people really think and feel. samwash: |
TemplarLandry:And he became a citizen just for being born in the USA l. He didn’t have to do anything to earn his citizenship. Now he wants to take that away from the new generation being born in America. Typical conservative mindset Rules for thee but not for me |
