And that still wouldn’t be enough because he’s done way too much damage to be undone by him alone.

Should I say I pity him? I don’t know.

But if he can seek retribution by ensuring a lot of these moronic republicans in the house and senate lose their seats during the mid terms then that’s fine.

They will say you’re being emotional

Why aren’t you happy at the thought of alligators eating other humans? Don’t you know that’s what makes you a strong man? Afterall they must be illegals therefore it’s all good.

I dig deep into the news everyday, analyze right wing talking points and what the legacy media coverage is, and one thing is clear - a growing section of people are beginning to lose their love for humanity.

I want to soulfully disagree with myself here because I believe good people will always exist. Not perfect people, but they value life so you can live in it.

But when I saw that pic of the tyrant, and death santis loving up in a concentration camp, my mouth was bitter.

What have we become? In a thousand years who would even identify as liberal or republican, if you can resist the hate, why don't you do it, why do you glorify in it @basilico

Agree with everything else except Mamdani because frankly speaking, as a politician, he’s new to me. I support him now because he opposes the billionaire oligarchy. He hasn’t had a long political career for me to base my judgement of him on.

However I’m not a right winger who glazes politicians just for being in my party so for now I’ll agree to disagree with you until I see further what he does with his career if he becomes mayor…or more. Time will tell.

AmazonTopaz:
Thank you. @ijebos, this is what I mean. Analysts even used the word progressive to tout some of his policies and legislative record. That's why he is regarded as the most progressive President in decades more progressive than Obama.

My side of the political spectrum is Center-left.

Democratic Socialism isn't Socialism, Mandani is not a Democratic socialists in that sense. American Leftists are not Democratic socialists they have socialist ideas. They are big critics of Capitalism as a whole.

Oh I get what you’re saying. He might not be progressive for what actually constitutes progressivism but by American standards he’s been the most progressive so far. Particularly grateful for the progressive judges he put in place in lower and middle courts.

People really don’t know how right winged America truly is. Our left wing is maybe center left in other developed countries and the “far left” is really just left wing.

That’s why people who live in the UK and Canada don’t know that when right wingers lie to them about the extremism of America’s extreme left, they are basically talking about people who just want what basic left wing policies they themselves have been benefiting from for decades.

That’s also why I don’t even see Mamdani as far left. His “socialism” is basically social capitalism where the capitalist systems still remain in place with enhanced programs that socially help people stay afloat.

But I guess time will tell.

AmazonTopaz:
@bold, is why ingrates in the Far-left helped Trump win again. I said he was the most progressive President so yes he was progressive because there is no other president since LBJ that has had his progressive records records. Anyway enjoy your retrogressive president currently in power. Since you folks cannot recognize a good thing and are waiting for perfect candidates.

Also, Mandani or whatever his name is is an anti-semite. Using the term "settlers" is from the anti-semite playbook and Palestinians do not own that land. He and many progressives are anti-semites. Whatever genocide happening in Gaza is happening in Sudan and everywhere else but no scrutiny because no Jews, no news.

Rubbish.

But in summary I agree. I love-hate that we have to support whatever people choose to do with their free will including having multiple kids. but if it were up to me (and thank God it’s not) the birth rate would be about half of what it is now. That reality doesn’t exist anymore where one can pay rent with 140 pounds weekly earning, eat well and have savings. So poverty is still very much an excuse

However we can all agree that there are negligent parents even when poverty is not their excuse. Sadly for them, they didn’t choose their parents so feeding them is not making excuses for the parents.

We should all be in support of less kids being brought into this world overall. Since there’s a debate on whether they deserve to suffer for what their parents did or not. Once they are here, there’s nothing the community or country can do except give them a fighting chance by at least not letting them starve.
Ibime:
That was a single low income household with 5 kids to support, so I'm not buying any lamba about poverty. Even when I moved out of the house at 16, I got a weekend job that paid me £140 per week. From that £140, I paid my own rent, travelled to college everyday, ate well and had savings. People need to stop making excuses while their parents are puffing 20 cigarettes per day.

That big fat headed trolls on here said we should let him cook. If I didn’t already block them, I would have asked them what was cooked. Mumu children.

I mean it was clear he paid for the election so he can get close to power to dismantle the organizations investigating him. I pray that anyone who knowingly supports corruption should reap the rewards of such corrupt actions in their time of need.

Because the children whose cancer research were defunded for this hogwash, American women whose healthcare have been and will keep being impacted are paying for it. The federal workforce fired to “save money” who were hanging in limbo in fear of not being able to provide for their families paid for it. All the tears and anguish they caused American families and rejoiced with their chainsaws while it was happening, If anyone says such a thing is okay, may it visit them 10 times.

To an extent I also believe billionaires should not exist simply because of how American billionaires come to be. BUT it’s still nuanced for me. I’m not a blanket no-one-should-ever-have-a-billion-dollars-ever type of person. Is someone who’s a billionaire worth 10 billion dollars the same as someone who’s a billionaire worth 400 billion? Obviously not.

HOWEVER, if the said billionaire is paying their fair share of taxes, their workers are well compensated for the value of profits they bring to the company and MOST IMPORTANTLY they are not being propped up by tax payer money , then it’s their money and they have a right to it.

The Walmart family of billionaires for example makes sure they keep most of their workers under full time hours so they’d not have to provide healthcare for them by law. They also don’t provide paid maternity leave or a livable wage etc. they are notorious for being the largest company in the USA whose workers have to depend on govt aid and food stamps to feed.

How are you raking in billions in profits every year but your staff have to be fed by the govt or they won’t survive. The same govt that you support when they want to take away the subsidized healthcare, housing and food allowance on which your under paid staff depends? Is there any plan in there somewhere for those workers to actually survive or thrive?

I swear if they explain America to an outsider and they fully understand it, then the explanation was probably inadequate because how does one make sense of the above? You don’t want to pay livable wages and you vote to take away the aid your underpaid workers depend? Make it make sense naw.

I have had a problem with American style “billionairism” where the middle class is paying for the billionaires to retain their wealth and we lose more ground each year. Just as we are speaking, another tax bill that will enrich American billionaires while taking healthcare away from tens of millions of Americans has passed preliminary consideration by the House.

We just watched Elon crash out because his projects that have always been funded by the federal govt wasn’t part of the deal this time around. That’s someone worth around $400 billion dollars and he’s mad the person earning 50k (whose taxes are about to go up BTW) is not paying towards his fun project. Never mind that he’s benefiting overall anyhow.

When Americans speak of billionaires negatively it’s for a very good reason.

Joe Biden was unarguably the most progressive president America has had in decades and what did Leftists do, enabled Republicans into power because of Gaza and they immediately forgot Biden's campaign deliveries to them.
AmazonTopaz:
When you ask these socialists that once the money have been collected from the billionaires and distributed to everybody how do we recreate the billions again and evenly distribute it again for everyone when we don't give in equal input but expect equal output. grin

Also, billionaires, millionaires etc shouldn't be influencing government policy that's why Citizens United will be a part of the downfall of the United States. cheesy
Yea but America will never be a fully socialist country. I’ve not even seen any full socialist politician to date. Not even Mamdani. We want a mixed society as well but the people this guy is challenging want unregulated capitalism.

Fully agree that billionaires shouldn’t influence govt. that’s what we all want except the right. If less billionaires meddled in the govt, we would honestly have less billionaires overall. Many of them are billionaires today because they’ve been allowed to meddle in govt. less meddling, less billionaires overall.

I really do agree with far leftists being a problem in the movement and my problem with them is their penchant to pick apart and expect perfection from their candidates while the right whole heartedly endorses criminals and rapists with vigor.

If he wants factually true and not alternate reality information like they do on the right, his AI will keep coming up with the same results because you cannot rewrite the truth

Last week, Grok, the chatbot from Elon Musk's XAl, replied to a user on X who asked a question about political violence. It said more political violence has come from the right than the left since 2016.
Musk was not pleased.
Within three days, Musk promised to deliver a major Grok update that would "rewrite the entire corpus of human knowledge," calling on X users to send in "divisive facts" that are "politically incorrect, but nonetheless factually true" to help train the model.

I don’t like what they did when they came for Kamala for not being perfect thereby empowering the fascist orange buffoon. To me it was giving undercover Republican because why do you have all the smoke for democratic candidates and none for conservative who are unarguably 100x worse. I hated that perfectionist behavior they come with whenever they’re assessing democratic candidates.

However, I don’t see this guys policies as far left. The thing with capitalism is that it has to have some form of socialist element to cushion the dog-eat-dog effect of end stage capitalism or the system crumbles on itself.

Time will tell.

.
AmazonTopaz:
You don't implement socialists policies in capitalist New York. His policies are beautiful in theory, that is if they even are and ugly and problematic in practice. There is no successful socialists country in the world.

The Far-left of the party is why Orange won in 2016. They are saboteurs and not team players. They are the reason why Palestine today is nothing but finished because they didn't have the political sense to support the one candidate who would have at least acknowledged the humanity of the Palestinian people.
They are lunatics because they don't have political instincts and their policies are horrible in practicality. Also, when Biden forgave student laws and passed progressive legislation what did they do? They insulted him and critiqued him over Gaza and never for once appreciated that policy.

They are part of the reason why Orange was re-elected because dumb Americans think that those lunatics are the face of the party.

For the sake of the prosperity of New York, I hope he loses in the general election. I don't mind that corrupt Adams in power but a socialist would ruin New York. Also, when Republicans come for denaturalization we must thank the Pro-Palestine leftists for the part they played in getting Americans there.

Good for them all.

Canadian citizen who was a Trump supporter since 2016 dies in ICE custody.

He used to share posts saying we need to enforce more immigration laws. Immigration law says you can’t be a green card holder and commit a crime. He committed crimes while being only a resident. He really thought it was only for others AKA brown people.

And He’s posted too that the Trump train was unstoppable. I guess the train hit him directly this time.

Jf the supreme court can remove or stop birthright citizenship directly or indirectly. Something that is written in black and white in the constitution.

A Dem President will definitely come tommorow too and try and remove the right of Americans to bear Guns. Most especially dangerous guns as Americans have used it to cause more deaths to themselves even more than actual war zones

Two can play the game.

We wait and see what ends all of these
And even then there would still be no comparison.
Notice how what the Dems want actually protects Americans AKA no free range guns running around every where. Versus what republicans want which is hate and misery. Two very different groups with different hopes for America.
