dubaiboy1: Hi, I just thought to chip in a little info from what I've gathered so far about Halifax. I'm not in Canada yet but public transport system is great as long as you have your bus pass.
Health care is like every other places in Canada
Crime rates .. I can't say much about this .
And I know there are Nigerians out there in Halifax. They have meetings monthly or so . Check " Nigerians in Halifax" on YouTube .
And apartment depends on what you are looking for, as in your taste... But budget $600 for a 2 bed but mind you, it won't be anything fancy.
To know more about the city, you will find lots of videos on YouTube(Even for apartments)
Sorry but I hope this helps... Good luck to you . Thanks bro. Can I connect with you? Sent you a pm |

Thales01: It is distasteful that this is what Christianity has been reduced to.Dubious folks parades themselves as a pastors with the odious aim of defrauding the gullible ones of their hard-earned money. What is pitiable is that it is the unwholesome gullibility of most so called Christians that embolden this dubious men in the guise of pastors to perform their repugnant acts. Christianity is fast becoming a joke courtesy of charlatans who parade themselves as pastors.
SMH. Not true sir. Christianity is far above this. There is true religion and false religion. What this video depicts is false Christianity just like Boko Haram is false Islam. The fact that this kinds of things are common does not mean that Christianity as a whole has been reduced to thrash. If you're a true Christian, keep your faith and do not be discouraged. Frustrated wailers always have a reason to wail. Nothing will happen because YOU HAVE CONTRIBUTED IN LOWERING THE STANDARDS OF LEADERSHIP by defending everything your paymaster does. |

The kinds of comments one read on this platform shows that this country is far from redemption. Some people simply do not have a conscience. Even if you're paid to defend the indefensible, can't you use your brain? Must we completely lower the standards of leadership just to please our pay masters? |

maternal: 5 weeks is more than enough time if you start doing your research before you land. My cousin got his PR card within 5 to 6 weeks. I wouldn't go back until I physically have the PR card in my hand. Call your job and make an excuse and stay longer if you have too. What will happen to your PR status. You'd be a PR in the system, but what you could use to re-enter the country you'd have to inquire the appropriate gov't agency. I wouldn't take anyone's word here on it. Go to the Canadian embassy direct and ask if you have too. Something like this you can't afford to do he/she said. On another note, while everyone is in a hurry to leave naija, I've been reading about a lot of "soft landing", while returning to Nigeria "to continue work for sometime before joining them finally". I have seen marriages break after such a plan. People are delaying the inevitable I feel, especially men. Well said. Nice to know PR card can be sorted in 6 weeks. @ returning to naija to continue work. |

Hello house.
Thanks to everyone who has contributed to making this thread informative to all of us.
I'd like to know how this short landing stuff works. I'm looking to do short landing and use the time to secure accommodation, get a school for the kids, enrol my spouse in school and return to Nigeria to continue work for sometime before joining them finally. However my office won't give me more than 5 weeks. Can I achieve all these within 5 weeks? Also if I'm unable to get my PR card (I understand it takes about 12 weeks) before returning to Nigeria, what will happen to my PR status. |

Hello Landed seniors, Please could someone tell me a little bit about the chances of immigrant HR professionals in Canada. Ive got 7 years recruiting and HR generalist (financial services industry) experience with international certifications. I would be glad if I'm connected to any landed HR professional. BTW, I'm still hoping to pass medicals. |

Akingsqueen: I don't have hepatitis B but from the medical point of view, if they requested further tests, then they likely want you to have a liver function test, abdominal ultrasound scan focused on the liver and hepatitis B Virus DNA viral load. You might also need a Gastroenterologists review. These are all in a bid to decide if you are admissible into Canada. They need to know if the hep B is the type that will deplete their resources. Excellent. Thanks for the information. the principal applicant here has always been + but never been ill and never taken any drugs related to HBV. Doing some research to ascertain the different types of HBV. I understand there are active and inactive carriers. |

My spouse has bits of short term experiences here and there (mostly contract jobs). Since i am not claiming points for them, any need to include them in the personal history part? I was hoping i could just put unemployed rather than list them and face documentation issues in the future. |
