Throwback:consumer commerce or productive commerce? You are being mischievous with economics. So importing more goods and borrowing to build rail to transport them will actually grow the economy according to your APC inclined brain? Wooowww. |
Throwback:if tolled, roads can generate good amount plus no stupid loan was used to fund them. That's different from using loan to build a dormant rail line to Katsina then taxing dead people and renewed hope survivors to repay the capital loan. It is wrong. It promotes unproductive borrowing. It means leaders can now borrow, develop their villages/states, then tax the dying economy/populace for repayment. |
Faiththatworks:You are replying to your own imagination. Protest are meant to resist attempt at making the masses pay for what the elite have stolen via inflated expenses. When a leader takes $100m to do what $15m can do, is that africa will industrialize? I know you are helinues or MANNABBQGRÎLLS. |
“It would be wrong and an insult to the people of Kenya to reintroduce the finance bill, But there are provisions in that bill that would have helped the country to grow.” Are taxes good for the economy? Tax affects economic growth by reducing consumer spending and lowering incentives to invest. But different fiscal policies have variable overall economic effects, with taxes on income better than those levied on corporate profits in terms of their wider impact on GDP. The only problem with our own darling nation is that, Are the government since 1960 make the good law abiding citizens of Nigeria benefits from the taxes they have been collecting? And the 2nd and final question is, How many Nigeria citizens actually pay taxes? Food for thought. We Rise ✔️
How much is Buhari rail generating? |
Throwback:running economy is different from building rail that dont generate enough. |
Prophet of pocket. No prophecy for poor man? |
safetyboot:even that 700-750 is still less than 0.5 USD a litre. The global average for deregulated petrol is much higher. Like you rightly said, they want to set Dangote against the people who are his targeted market. Some Google search results for global average gasoline/petrol price per litre are: 1.30 -- January 2024 https://punchng.com/report-ranks-nigeria-22nd-country-with-cheapest-petrol/ 1.32 -- August 2024 https://www.globalpetrolprices.com/gasoline_prices/ 1.29 -- January 2024 https://nairametrics.com/2024/01/08/nigeria-ranks-22nd-for-cheapest-petrol-worldwide-report/ At N1600 a dollar, 1.3 X N1600 is over N2000/Litre. That makes Tinubu and NNPCL heads as probably part of the cabal. Anyone selling at around N700 a litre is indirectly saying, other sellers averaging N2000/litre are making so much profit per litre or the govt/cabal is subsidising it heavily just to make Dangote look very greedy. Either there is a global cabal making a killer profit by fixing prices or a Nigerian cabal trying to lower it to make Dangote look bad. |
Guestlander: Guestlander:i suspect it is a calculated attempt to turn the public against Dangote's product and keep importing as a cabal. By concealing the current subsidy from Nigerians, they make us believe the current subsidized rate is the fair intl value, then when Dangote releases his at true intl rate in an attempt to break even, the public sees Dangote as the greedy one who is punishing Nigerians. Thats why they may have to work on our psyche in advance with such baseless projections as N600 a litre while concealing the present subsidy. Dangote can further checkmate them by postponing the petrol release date, that means they get to rack up more subsidy debt and choke fiscally. |
Salewa97:Helinues ?? |
Nigerians and Indians. No wonder the brits are angry with migrants. |

Africa and petty competition. Dem no see satellite launch. Dem no see good inventions. |
MANNABBQGRÎLLS will be that wayward dude who after being caught and suspended went to hire a fake daddy/guardian to come plea for him. |
Lol. Kano and Jigawa style but reasonably and logically done. |
Puss360:The koko is that Discos and Gencos will negotiate directly for how they buy and sell power and GenCos will now have freedom to cut of unprofitable Discos alwaya owing them. That means no more r much less interference from govt. It is as good as Subsidy removal. |
Racoon:Bilateral trading I am guessing was choosen as the name because the DisCos now trade more directly with the GenCos. The govt is taking a less relaxed approach by relieving the parastatal NBET of the duty of forcing power cost to a regulated value. They only serve an eye in that industry. Same way NCC can command Airtel and MTN to maintain N500MB at Night N50 plan because they know enough to deduce Airtel and MTN can make profit if they sell at that rate. |
Still processing the information... If I understand correctly, NBET hitherto, has been the one making GenCos generate irrespective of whether the DisCos distribute and optimally pay for power. Now NBET is out of the way. Gencos Can switch off if the DisCos dont pay up. The DisCos now have to face the consumers and see that they sell profitably on time to meet their one-to-one obligations with GenCos. NBET and NERC will try to act like CBN/NIBSS to banks or like NCC to Telcos in the power sector. Nothing Radical. Just a way of removing power subsidy without noise. |

Buy firewood and refine you thing if it is true. |
This moves looks good on the surface but the way to rid the market of greedy middlemen is not like this. It is better to increase production and encourage competitive middlemen to enter the business. |
mrvitalis:at 1550 Petrol will soon be refined an taken as a form of alcohol. |
oluwaseyi0:I want sell it N10 a litre personally. The issue is the queues that will be too much. I will buy at N1500 from Dangote, then sell at N10 at my own personal subsidized price. |
Jackanda1:Better than MANNABBQGRÎLLS who insults people in advance with his signature and has been active ever since. |
It can even sell for N40 if govt buys it at N1300 from Dangote and subsidize it to that level. Lol. |
Beans love heat and is the global warming tolerant food of choice. Ride on OP. |
It is the principal problem. God said b fruitful and multiply, the rest like security, tech and education are JARA and revolves around economy (physical fruitfulness). |
Biodun556:Idiotic comment. BH is now everywhere. After spending record defence budgets. The only thing the lanky general got 10-15% right was agriculture. Others Zero. Industry, econonomy, health, education, roads,infrastructures(5% maybe) are zero. |
