On another hand, we have $54B of reserve seating, almost idly, in the foreign exchange reserve accounts and know all too well, the zeal of present govt for wastefulness and superfluity.

Should a chunk of that reserve, lets say $9B be used to acquire shares in Dangote Refinery instead of pretending all is well?

As it stands, Dangote as an individual is more "governmental" than the government. He creates employment. He focuses on things that improve the economy far more than the FG and all 36 governors combined. Why decieve ourselves that the current balance of $54B+(and growing) won't be diverted to where Tinubu's heart truly lies, the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway of burden after 2027 abracadaba is perfected? Why pretend Tinubu is a reasonable person and will therefore not allow the flamboyance + superfluity that's digging deeper and deeper the pit of poverty and systemic imbalance go on?

For me, investing $9B or even as high as $14B from the reserves into Dangote Refinery is a far better choice than a coastal highway of even 24 lanes talk less of that 6 lane they are doing.

If you site industry in Niger because of land while ninety percent of your market is in Southern Nigeria your logistics cost will be high and another company will drive you out.
