Wike set up a committee to chose his successor. He had some allies he so much relied on. Fubara was one of them. Although early enough Wike didn't show his preference for Fubara. It was a game plan he kept close to his heart. While others were undoing others to show Wike their loyalty Fubara wasn't touched.
When it was time Wike prompt up Fubara and told all the other candidates to support him. The condition was that they would be his commissioners. Even before the election they knew their designations. This was agreed with Fubara. It was like a captain selecting a team with his coach. It is quite unfortunate it has turned to be like this.

When Dr Odili finished his term Omehia was there for few months before he was removed and Amaechi came back from Ghana to rule

A lot of people don't really understand what is going on in Rivers. Its beyound Wike vs Fabura. Fabura played his card too early, local government chairmen worked for his success to be a governor. He started planing to undermine them and somehow replace them with his own people. He was trying to hijack power from people that helped him win. The Edo state debacle gave him balls thinking he can play the same card in Rivers. He forgot that powers that be didn't want Oshiomole again, and they already made that clear to Buhari. APC governors worked against their own party in Edo to make sure they shame Oshiomole. APC governors were bent on disgracing Oshiomole cos he stepped on many toes that was why Obaseki got away with all the nonsense he did. Obaseki even thanked Buhari for not interfering on intervening. Reverse is the case now, APC is eying Rivers, Wike has backing of federal might. Anybody thinking those lawmakers who defected will lose their sits is having a pipe dream. They have been legislating ever since, nothing has happened. Fabura has been caught up in a pickle he put himself. He played his game too fast knowing the kind of power hungry person Wike is.

I was in Ondo State during the build up to the Elections. There were more than enough organic Yoruba supporters of Peter Obi, I also have a lot of Yoruba friends who were core Obidients.

And if we're being real to ourselves, the igbos were the ones who really voted along ethnic lines in the last General Elections.

On one hand you believe Obi won the Election, on another hand you feel Yorubas and the North voted for Tinubu.

For Tinubu to make that declaration and then went on to achieve it, he has won my vote for next election if God keeps me alive.
