Religion / Who Should Nations Consult In Times Of Uncertainity? How Do We Know? by CollinsRemnant: 3:26pm On Jun 22, 2020
The new Normal is slowly becoming uncertainty. The kind of uncertainity which does not give us the privilege of track record or hindsight data in order to make foresight predictions.

It is in such times that we should investigate how the alternative unconventional office of the prophet can be formerly adopted in government process as an alternative to professors and other experts on estimating the likely future to prepare for.

Politics / What Is The Difference Between A Lecturer And A Preacher? OPEN YOUR THE EYES OF by CollinsRemnant: 2:26pm On Jun 05, 2020
It has become difficult to distinguish men of God from lecturers because , many men of God have reduced their calling to lecturing what they have researched from the bible. Where are the men who walk with God and seek to draw others to encounter and also experience the quality of Gods life? To prevent the church from slipping into weakness, irrelevance , powerlessness or worse still into lecture rooms, there is a call in our generation for results, the kind that lecturers don't give, but only those with demonstrated signs, to help us and our nation.

quote author=joseph1013 post=28892955]Hi friends, I don't even know if I can follow through with this and continue infinitely like I would love to do. I don't know. I only have a feeling that writing best captures what I have to say.

This page will be my questions and thoughts page.

I am not naive enough to expect that most who come to this page will abandon the faith they hold dear, but I do hope to convince my readers that many of us who walk away have not done so out of a rebellious, juvenile whim, but rather out of a careful weighing of the reasons for and against our former faith. Our decision, far from being "sad," as many of my friends and family perceive it, represents a move from unquestioning acceptance of tradition to a spirit of openness and adventure that pursues the evidence wherever it leads. We left in pursuit of truth.

A little about me: I grew up in a devoted Christian family, loving the Lord. I was devoted and zealous. I was the 'dream' child. And because I was equally brilliant, parents pointed me as an example to their kids.

Of course as I grew up, I had questions. One of the earliest I remember was asking how Cain had a wife if there were only three people on earth (Abel having died). The answer my mum gave to that and many of the innocent questions of mine at a tender age was that I should make sure I get to heaven so I can ask God myself. It didn't prove sufficient but what was a child to do otherwise?

I was a part of my school christian groups. I also remember being picked by the Children Church's teachers to preach to the entire Church congregation on Children's Sunday. It was awesome.

When I got to one of the foremost Federal Universities, I could not be more devoted. I was now into theological texts and got more than five translations of the Bible. I was a walking bible. Of course, there were no bible apps at that time. I consumed alot of religious materials, and read books by so many Christian authors. I also got into reading Islamic texts, mainly so I could know what I was talking about when I encountered Muslim apologists, and oh I was very successful with them.

With time, I was made a Pastor of one of the most vibrant fellowships on Campus. We did not only study the Greek and Hebrew renditions, we knew at heart copious parts of scriptures and could reel them out in our sleep. We were respected on Campus, not the least by the Christian community. We would argue scriptures and rattle men with our knowledge of the redemptive work of Christ and the concept of the New Creation.

As an Engineering student, I spent 3 of my 5 years being a Pastor of this fellowship.

It was after my NYSC that I came across certain comments in books that made me look twice and search further to see if what I had believed and devoted my time to were indeed true.

I have been on this journey for a while now and I can say that I have come to a stage where I can sufficiently say that I am longer a Christian or a religionist. I do not conclusively deny the existence of God, but I can totally say that nobody has given me a convincing evidence for the existence of the Abrahamic God.

Some have told me that I am angry with God. That cannot be true, for you cannot get angry with something you are convinced does not exist in the context that I mentioned earlier. Some have said I believed wrongly, to these folks I say they know not what they sayeth.

I invite Christian readers, as well as other God-believers to consider the possibility that my apostasy is a result not of divine or diabolical deception but of a simple weighing of the evidence ... It might be that I am wrong. It might be that I have not sought God sufficiently or studied the Bible thoroughly enough or listened carefully enough to the many Christians who have admonished me ... Maybe. But the knowledge that billions of seekers have lived and died, calling out to God for some definitive revelation without ever receiving it, or receiving revelation that conflicts with the revelation others have found, contributes to my suspicion that there is no personal God who reveals himself to anyone.

One of my primary reasons for having this page is self-serving: I do not relish knowing that others consider me to be on the road to eternal damnation if I don't repent, and I want to do what I can to change their perception of those of us who do not share their faith. Yet is this self-serving endeavour reckless? If I believed it would worsen the lives of all those who follow my thoughts and questions, then yes, it would be reckless. But I am convinced that life can actually improve for those who come to understand that our earthly existence is not simply a stage, a cosmic morality play, a precursor to an eternity to come. This life is the real (and only) deal.

Enjoy...

And hey, if you look at my Nairaland history, I do love Football a lot and I'm an investment buff. I'm interested in Politics too and most of all, I love adventure. I love to travel and see new places. I'm also an eclectic reader. Who says unbelievers have a boring life? tongue

Religion / Intimacy With God: God does not care about your sins, Why Stay Conscious Of It? by CollinsRemnant: 6:49am On Jun 01, 2020
UNTIL SIN CONSCIOUSNESS IS TOTALLY , ABSOLUTELY ERADICATED; WE WILL JUST MOVE FROM A DISTANCE WITH GOD!

"Until sin consciousness is totally, absolutely eradicated, we will just move from a distance with God. Am not talking about sin, am talking about sin consciousness. He says "because I will forgive their sins, their iniquities and I will remember their sins no more." Now the day your heart resonates with this and know that you can enter in anytime. That you can acquire and posses and occupy, a level of his presence anytime, of the day or night; that will be the threshold. Am telling you the threshhold is that. He says "their sins and iniquities I remember no more". No more no more, no more!

The way you are now. Before you get in a corner and say " am sorry and sorry". The way you are right now you qualify to enter the holiest - the holy of holies. And interact with the very holy presence of the almighty. You don't enter in and say ,"what has happened here. Lord first give me time I come back." The blood of Christ , the blood of Christ has dealt with the sin issue, with the iniquity issue. And the blood of Christ , its efficiency has never failed. I said the efficiency of his blood is absolute. Now this depends on the degree to which you esteem his blood. Those who think, "it is there there, but somehow ..." - they remain with the consciousness of sin. But those who have seen by revelation that he deals with it past, present, future; and it is done it is no longer an issue; (glory to Godwink they enter boldness. They enter boldly (glory to God) the throne of grace and obtain mercy and find grace to help them in time of need. The holy spirit is introducing some of these things to you, because you a re going to walk with angels. You have to walk with angels, you just have to. "

Religion / Church Leaders To Take A Lead Role To Get The World Out Of Covid-19 Crisis by CollinsRemnant: 8:11pm On May 31, 2020
OPEN LETTER TO LEADERS OF THE CHURCH

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Thank you for heeding the call to ministry. There isn’t any more distinguished honourable and nobler service in the world than labouring in the Lord’s vineyard.

Even in times like this when the whole world seems to have more questions than answers, we should not lose sight of the fact that God in His infinite wisdom considered it fit to call us, equip us and then unleash us to a world that is for the most part drowning in the sea of fear, confusion and unbelief.

However, it is in such moments as we are facing today, with this whole virus situation, that we must be prepared to ask ourselves difficult questions and accept uncomfortable insights. For instance, are we at present correctly representing our Lord in all this? How did we find ourselves in this state; scattered and nearly voiceless? Didn’t our Lord say to us that in our oneness is when the world will get to know Him?

When the Lord has birthed in our midst a gift or a call in the form of one He has anointed, we have continuously failed the test of legitimacy as His co-labourers when we have sought rather to “let it be neither mine nor thine, but divide it”, as was with the case of King Solomon’s remarkable test of wisdom (1 Kings 3:16-28). This “I either have it or we all lose it” mentality has been responsible for our animosity towards each other and not the pretentious accusations of suspicion in the indulgence of the occult and cultism. And yet, even so, some of us have made it clear that though they will listen to pagans; to the ungodly, they have no interest in listening to their fellow labourer in the gospel of Christ in the guise of their suspicion of him or her indulging in the occult.

Man of God, woman of God, our service to the Lord is so critical in such times to remain in division over very petty issues. Yet, because we have been found wanting thanks to our disunity, the world will never forget how so easily it turned us over when this whole pandemic situation was unleashed. And when the prince of darkness shall seek to strike again, he will not forget this. This should never happen again. We have the opportunity to get back on course.

Man of God, woman of God, seek no one’s approval but God’s. We have sought more to be in good books with men; with politicians, with the media, than we have with God. Whereas, we are sent to “go out into the world”, we should never forget that we are in this world but not of it. If indeed we are the Lord’s and have his Spirit, we should never forget that He said “if the world hate you, then ye know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love his own. But because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you” (John 15:18-19).

Aren’t there any of us left, who can for instance, seek to advise the politician or the leaders out there without expectations of any form? Have we considered the benefits of being on God’s payroll over those (benefits) of being on man’s payroll? We should never forget that we are not public servants but servants of God. We can only serve the public truthfully to the degree with which we serve God.

Man of God, woman of God, we must rediscover our spiritual heritage which was seen throughout the days of “the Acts of the Apostles”, or else, we will honestly remain irrelevant in times like this. Yet, it is because of such supernatural feats that some amongst us have either ignorantly or deliberately misguided a few people by labeling the practitioners of such feats as erroneous. In the eyes of such ministers, we who practise such supernatural feats, are seen as extreme, as fanatical and as cultic. But if their labels on us are considered correct, then so too were our predecessors, such as the prophets of old, the apostles and Jesus Himself extreme, fanatical and cult. For there is nothing that we practice, that cannot be traced back to the roots of the scriptures.

Because of the accommodation of such divisive rhetoric from “false brethren”, instead of flashing it away, as commanded in the bible “Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which you have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple” (Romans 16:17-18), because of this we have ceded ground to secular opinions where the revelation of God should reign supreme. Because of this, at such a time as this, we are hiding in our “fox holes” waiting for solutions from the world. Oh how we have fallen! Are we really that naive to think that the world has our best interests at heart when planning its future agenda?

The Holy Spirit tells us in the book of revelations that “the god of this world” is setting up a system, an agenda, where no one will be able to buy or sell unless such one has “the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name”. Have we thought about the different stages in which the world is moving towards the implementation of this ultimatum on the ability to buy and sell? Do we know where we presently find ourselves on that roadmap? Or shall we find that we are in partnership or contributing to this final apocalyptic implementation of the mark of the beast?

When faced with such conflict, man of God, woman of God, know that we are bound in conscience before the Great Judgment Seat of Christ to counter and resist every agenda that is geared towards the destruction of the church of Christ, the kingdom of God. However, if we hold up the white flag of surrender in the face of these agendas, a time will come when our mode of worship of Christ will only be as dictated by the world, even as we have at present gotten a sneak peek of this: “not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching” (Hebrews 10:25). None of us alive today will dodge the question about how this whole situation turned us over. And, the best answer that anyone can imagine will be, “Lord, it was because of a virus”. Yet, hasn’t He said that heaven and earth will pass away but His word will abide forever?

Man of God, woman of God, if you do not rise up as God through Mordecai warned Esther; if you remain silent in this time, relief and deliverance for the body of Christ will come from another place. As the scripture asks, “who knows that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” Awaken, and do not let “the little ones'' who have been entrusted to you to stumble into darkness. Have you not read that “it would be better for him to have a millstone hung around his neck and to be thrown into the sea than to cause one of these little ones to stumble''?, (Luke 17:2). Satan’s agenda has never been so clear than it is in our day. Therefore, ours is to be awake spiritually than ever before; walk in love and fellowship and unity with each other, so that we may easily be able to detect the enemy and lead God’s people to the dominion of His Majesty.

Man of God, be God’s man, woman of God, be God’s woman

Religion / Politicians: Reject Foreign Agenda Seeking To Use Covid19 To Enslave Nigerians by CollinsRemnant: 2:46pm On May 31, 2020
*OPEN LETTER TO THE POLITICAL LEADERS*

Greeting in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

To those of you who are truly committed to the building of our nation into a desirable place to live, one we can be proud of, thank you. However, I would be failing in my duty if I did not bring to your attention what is Divinely required of you and urge your throughful consideration. You bear heavy responsibilities especially in these times when the threat of a global evil agenda is knocking at the door of our beloved nation. Oh Nigeria, may God uphold thee!

In the face of this danger, there is no escaping either the gravity or the totality of this threat if we are to ensure the survival of what truly makes us as a nation whose God is the true God. We know from proverbs 14:34 that "righteousness exalts a nation", and believe me this goes beyond holding "prayer breakfasts" and merely giving God lip service in your speeches. Therefore, I do ask every politician to re-examine his or her own conscience as far as this imminent matter is concerned, and to recognise the nature of our country's peril.

Proverbs 29:2 says, "when the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth the rule, the people moan". Nigeria will turn out to be a reflection of either the righteous being in authority, in which the people rejoice, or the wicked, bearing the rule in which case the people moan. The events of recent months will help to illuminate your stand in matters concerning God's agenda and or otherwise the enemy's global agenda. Please, don't give us reason to suspiciously watch you.

For instance, there are conditions which the Nigerian people would never consent to. So I hope you bear this in mind as one who truly cares not only for the wellbeing but also for the freedom of the people or else it would tantamount to some kind of raping of human rights. Using a crisis, at this time of darkness, to pass or impose certain laws would not be any different from the time that was chosen by Jesus' detractors to arrest Him; "when I was daily with in the temple ye stretched forth no hands against me: but THIS IS YOUR HOUR, and the power of darkness"- Luke 22:53.

Unfortunately, you have not even spared place of worship as your tentacles have spread across and seen and felt. The "clergy" who have been infected by dirty politics have brought this contagious bug to the churches, infecting the flock with it and thus ravaging it by causing division using the hate that is witnessed. You must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, especially when it extends to matters of faith.

Guard against the temptation of playing God like other States have seemingly done, because if you do, you can count on us to resist you with our very life: "and they overcame him by the blood of the lamb, and by the word of their testimony. AND THEY LOVED NOT THEIR LIVES UNTO DEATH" - Revelation 12:11. We are as a people inherently and historically devoted to God. And also please, stop the arrogance of trying to resist certain men and women of God just because they are not your preference by deciding for the people who they should or should not listen to. This is also playing God we will resist it.

Dear politician, if it looks like tyranny, talks like tyranny and walks like tyranny it is not constitutional democracy. This self deluded arrogance which goes like this: "my version of Christianity is right, and yours is wrong, and because you are wrong, your freedom of worship doesn't need to be taken into account", should have no place in a civilised society. Look at the historical tyrannies and show me the difference between them and this kind of attitude. There is none.

Dear politician, don't get us to the place where we have to make a choice between you and God: "judge for yourselves whether it is right in God's sight to listen to you rather than God" - Acts 4:19. Be God- conscious in your responsibilities. Surround yourself with real men and women of God; the ones you can consult with about the mind of God concerning any matter, not the ones that are merely your puppets. The good news is such men and women who hear God exist. The bad news is these are the ones that have fallen prey to the slandering, blackmailing, patronising and lying machinery of the dirty politician. The naive segment of the public has been hoaxed by this machinery of dirty politicians.

Dear politician, these issues are for you to deal with. No other person will deal with them for you. In these last days, those who make themselves our enemies, that is, enemies of God, are setting themselves up for a fall. They are "kicking against the pricks". The cup of their rebellion is almost full before God, waiting to be poured upon them in judgement.

Dear politician, you can ignore God but you cannot ignore the consequences of ignoring God.

Politics / Re: Nairaland Says No To Secessionists by CollinsRemnant: 2:29pm On May 31, 2020
Wow... Love to Nigeria and nairaland

Seun:
Fellow Nairalanders,

Nairaland loves Igbos and Niger Deltans very much. The thought of being separated from them for any reason is unbearable to us, so we have decided that we will reject any attempt by anyone to use Nairaland to promote the idea of removing Igbos and Niger Deltans from Nigeria.

We have updated rule 9 of Nairaland to reflect this decision. It now says:

I'd like to urge all Nairaland members to respect and obey rule 9. Mynd44 is in charge of enforcing it. If you break this rule, you'll be banned.

Thanks,
Seun (Founder Of Nairaland).
