You asked how Jega could 'suddenly' change position from 2011 and I gave you some examples of northerners who have changed position within the same period, they all have one agenda in mind - returning power to the north.

My arguments are based on facts not assumptions.

All! Creating more polling units without printing more PVC and insisting on use of card reader, how can you talk of rigging? The use of card reader mean time is limited to accredit voters. Als note that by 12pm accreditation ends automatically. Reason Jega need to ensure no polling unit have more voters than can be accredited within the time allotted. As long as removed dubious registrations are not returned, how can you claim Jega want to rig for APC?

Why are you people not always objective? Must you people put regional sentimentality ahead of the wellness of the nation?

Is the said incident form to be used in the north alone or in the whole country?

Learn to be sincere bro.
Keep burying your head in the sand.
Is it not in Nigeria that Emirs could collect PVCs on behalf of their wards in one region, while in another region even a wife cannot collect on behalf of her husband who is away?
In Jega's INEC is it always one rule for the north and another set of rules for others, so I am damn sure that the incidence form nonsense will not be as freely used in the south as it will be in the north.
The north (including the war torn north east) has the highest PVC collection rate in the country and that is because politicians and emirs have been allowed to collect PVCs on behalf of people, that is why you can have 97% collection rate in a state.
Now that this incident form trash is introduced, it means that people with multiple PVCs in the north will be able to vote as many times as possible depending on how many PVCs they have.
PoliticsRe: 20 Days To Polls: INEC’s New Rule Sparks Rigging Fears by Collynzo9: 9:07am On Mar 08, 2015
This was exactly my thought when I watched the nonsense in the news yesterday. Everything JEGA does is always geared towards favouring the north. Why insist that card readers must be used to ensure free and fair elections only to introduce this incident form rubbish after the tests weren't successful in the north?
Why not insist on card readers only or scrap the card readers entirely? I am sure that incident form option will only be used in the north as we have come to expect from Jega's INEC.
First was the alloaction of over 21000 new polling units to the north.
Then the use of different set of rules to distribute PVCs in the north, which ensured that even the war torn north east got higher collection rates than most parts of the south.
Now he has come with this incident form trash.
Jega is courting for trouble!

Wriggle out of this one....Mr. fruits. Big projects are not rocket science. Ethiopia planned and is eeuting this hydroelecric project which is even at larger scale than a railways project.

The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam, Benishangul-Gumuz Region, Ethiopia (Cost: $4.8 Billion US)
The Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD or Taehige), formerly known as the Millennium Dam and sometimes referred to as Hidase Dam, is a gravity dam on the Blue Nile River in Ethiopia currently under construction. It is in the Benishangul-Gumuz Region of Ethiopia, about 40 km (25 mi) east of the border with Sudan.
At 6,000 MW, the dam will be the largest hydroelectric power plant in Africa when completed, as well as the 8th largest in the world sharing the spot with Krasnoyarskaya. The reservoir at 63 billion cubic meters will be one of the continent's largest. According to the Ethiopian government, as of October 2014, the dam is 40% complete.
The Ethiopian government funds the entire cost of the dam ($4.8 billion US) by itself.

Taiwan High Speed Rail bankruptcy is imminent: transportation minister
TAIPEI, Taiwan -- Minister of Transportation and Communications (MOTC) Yeh Kuang-shih (葉匡時) yesterday stated that deteriorating finances at the Taiwan High Speed Rail Corporation (THSR, 高鐵) may result in imminent bankruptcy in March next year, during a Legislative Yuan session yesterday. As of June this year, the THSR had accumulated losses of NT$47 billion, and is currently embroiled in 39 lawsuits relating to redemption of preferred
shares by its investors. Most notably, reports suggest that the outlook of four of the 39 preferred shares lawsuits appear to be especially grim as judges have ruled in favor of
investors in the court of first instance. The Taiwan High Speed Rail Corp. may be required to furnish NT $53.3 billion to pay off investors as they exercise their option to redeem holdings of preferred shares, backed by order of the courts. Under tremendous financial strain, the THSR may buckle as soon as March of next year. Once bankruptcy is declared, the THSR is expected to go under government receivership, wiping out the fortunes vested in the company by its five founding shareholders and more than 60,000 members of the investing public. In addition, losses incurred by the THSR are likely to be covered by the nation's taxpayers. Meanwhile, efforts at turning around the THSR's troubled finances have yet to yield tangible improvements. Citing three inevitable factors, the THSR had once urged the government to provide the ailing rail service with funds of NT$397.4 billion. A government takeover of THSR is expected to cost more than NT$390 billion. In addition to the challenges of providing alternative employment for the rail service's 3,500-strong staff, reports suggest that it may take as long as 59 years to repay interest costs and principal from loans taken on by the THSR. A recent financial improvement plan submitted by the THSR called to expend NT$39.2 billion to meet preferred share redemption obligations, followed by a NT$39.1 billion capital reduction, then a NT$30 billion cash injection to enable government- affiliated stakeholders to control 41 percent of THSR. The MOTC also approved the extension of the concession period for the THSR from the current 35 years to 75 years. The Taiwan High Speed Rail Corp., however, will no longer be able to hike its prices without the approval of governing bodies.
Although the newly proposed THSR pricing structure warranted a 7.5-percent reduction, with the price for a trip from Taipei to Kaohsiung set to be decreased from NT$1,630 to NT$1,530, the adjusted price still exceeds the NT$1,490 recorded prior to a price hike initiated in October last year, drawing the ire of opposition party lawmakers during yesterday's Legislative Yuan session. In response, Yeh noted that forthcoming fare
adjustments have not been finalized.

Before you unwittingly run off celebrating mediocrity, take a look at what Taiwan did with just $3.4Billion. 30 state of the art trains.

The THSR 700T - Taiwan High Speed Rail (Cost $3.4 billion US)
This operates on the high-speed line between Taipei and Kaohsiung in Taiwan. The train entered into service with Taiwan High Speed Rail in January 2007.
It operates at a speed of 300kmph reducing the journey time between the two cities from four hours to just 90 minutes.
It was constructed by Kawasaki, Hitachi and Nippon Sharyo. Based on Kawasaki's 700 series Shinkansen trains, the 700T was the first Taiwanese rolling stock to import Japanese high speed rail technology.
The total investment for manufacturing the initial 30 trains in the series reached about NT$100bn ($3.4bn).courtesy of Oduastates
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/0e/THSR_700T_Modern_High_Speed_Train.jpg

Meanwhile Nigeria has sunk to $70Billion debt under GEJ from $21Billion under Yar'adua.
Stop comparing apples and oranges.
Plans for the Taiwan highs speed rails started in 1990 and the project finally materialised in 2007, a whooping 17 years, yet you want GEJ to perform magic in 5 years? You have to walk before you run.
You guys are extremely shameless.
After months of delays and false starts, Taiwan’s 345km (220 mile) high-speed line between Taipei and Kaohsiung finally opened for service on 5 January 2007 , when the first fare-paying passengers boarded a 700T trainset at Panchaio station. Plans were first drawn up for a high-speed rail line between Taipei and Kaohsiung, Taiwan's two largest cities, in the early 1990s, and the route is seen as a major threat to passenger volumes by airline companies, not least because rail fares are lower than air. Plans for the high-speed line were developed to
tackle continuing growth in traffic between the 'big two' cities, with Government officials looking to the example of Japan with its well-advanced system of dedicated high-speed routes linking major cities.

The jab is at Peter Obi who has ruled Anambra longest since 1991. That not withstanding Abia State was also created in 1991 but has CAF approved stadium and even 2 NFF approved Stadia. Both are State owned. The old Orlu Stadium in Imo was banned by NFF and a new one is under construction. The truth is that a lot remains undone after Peter Obi's 8 years.

As for Owerri there are 2 Stadia. The Owerri township Stadium and Dan Anyiam Stadium. Dan Anyiam is CAF approved. All are State owned.

The pitch at Nanka being constructed by a philantropist is amazing. Also add Rojenny. Thats one of the good things about the good Anambrians. They do not wait for Government to do everything. Igbos generally have that trait.
Stop deceiving yourself, Owerri does not have any stadium that is fit to host even a match by our National U17 team.

You think you're smart, but u are not. The GDP figures alone can allow an individual with basic arithmetic knowledge - estimate a states IGR. Or, do you think those figures come out of the dark. Those figure below are IGR contributions from various geopolitical zones in the country. As you can see the east is quite short in that part.
GDP and IGR aren't the same thing. Infact a state can have a big GDP with a small IGR if it doesn't have a strong tax collection system.
Our argument here is still about contribution to federation account which you very ignorantly started and states IGR do not contribute anything to federation account.
It is from the federation account that allocations are disbursed to the 36 states each month and 90% of the money from that account comes from oil, the rest comes from import and export duties. Now based on the above I want to repeat to you that Ukwa west LGA in Abia contributes more to that account that all 19 northern states put together. The northern states combined collect the highest amount from that account monthly but contribute little or nothing to it.
Just absorb that and never make that kind of ignorant comment you made about the south east again.

Yes companies run generators almost 12 to 18 hours per day which is very expensive. PHCN rations light more to industries and companies in the day time and residences at night. The manufacturers hope that GEJ's power in 1 year promise of 2010 will come to pass
Instead, they are being asked to pay more for little to no power. Their bottomline is gettig worse with this development.
I hope you learnt something today.
Sorry, I didn't learn anything, you are just contradicting yourself.
First, there is nothing like PHCN.
Secondly, most Nigerian companies are in residential areas, there are only few industrial areas in the country, so I don't see how it is possible for the distributors to ration electricity among companies and homes.
Thirdly, even if electricity is rationed as you claimed, how come the industries still run on generators for as much as 18 hours according to your claim and why would a company that runs on generators for 18 hours be complaining about the cost public electricity as if its productivity depends on public electricity.
You guys need to make up your mind, it is either there is electricity or there isn't. You can't tell us something isn't available and be coomplaining about the cost at the same time

You need to check your facts before you say anything. The north central alone contribute more to the federation account compared the the south east - it gets worse when you add the north west and east to the equation. In summary the north contributes far more than the east in total. Upgrade your ITK sense. When it comes to real money, the type the govt can touch and feel. You should be looking at SS and SW states, those are the heavy weights. If Biafra secedes be prepared to receive refugee status in Nigeria because hunger, poverty and crime will obliterate the east.

They said Chad wanted to claim some of our territories, now they are complaining of Nigeria's refusal to grant Chad permission to make further incursions. The hypocrisy is absolutely nauseating.
pendy79:
Sign undertaking? You don't mean it do you? You mean they should allow their own soldiers to die while yours run away from the front and the only thing they will tell the family of their soldiers is an undertaking for being a good neighbor.

Let face reality here, Chad under president habre their late former president led an incursion into Nigeria in 1982 I think, and killed some nigerian soldiers whilst laying claims.to same territories in Nigeria they are fighting seriously to liberate now.

Buhari then under whose division those soldiers were took it upon himself to liberate the territory hijacked and took on the Chadian Army killing and clearing them even up to the border of Libya before the OAU intervened and pleaded with president Shagari to rein in Buhari and his soldiers.

History has a way of repeating itself. Chad won't leave.with nothing, they had plans for those territories long long ago

What is wrong with limiting Chad's involvement in fighting in Nigerian territory?
See what this hypocrite posted when Chad first entered Nigeria.
pendy79:
Thanks for the complement bro. Nigeria's problem isn't prayers not being answered but we allowed ourselves to be driven by parochial sentiments of religion and ethnic bigotry.

If Nigeria is better, it will be for the good and benefit of all. If you allow a poor, less populated, lower GDP, civil war ravaged and less developed country like Chad make military incursions into your territory without invitation or coordination with your own military then your National Security and Territorial Integrity is at risk.

The best defence of a Nation is DETERENCE AND FEAR OF YOUR CAPABILITY TO RESPOND WHEN ATTACKED., what North Korea, Iran and Russia are benefiting hugely from cos all their enemies are not sure of their military might.

But what the Chadian Army have done is to show the entire world how useless our Army and National Defence is like. It is totally not in existence. Chadians planes enter into our country and we have no radar to pick them up and no Airforce jets scrambled to intercept them to ask their mission.

Shame on Nigerian leadership from the political leaders to the military.

Russians jets enter the English channels last Thursday and the Royal Airforce was in the Air seconds after to intercept them and afterwards the Russian Envoy was summoned to Downing Street to explain, that's response.

Have the Nigerian leaders or military made any comment since the episode? NO.
