ASUU Strike – Lecturers Accuse FG of Deceiving Nigerians, Threaten to Boycott Future Meetings The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) says it may not honour further calls by the federal government for a meeting on the way forward over the current strike by its members. The union’s National President, Biodun Ogunyemi, said this on the sideline of a news conference on the update of the union’s struggle to salvage the country’s public universities from deterioration on Sunday in Lagos. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the union had on November 4 embarked on what it described as a ‘total, comprehensive and indefinite strike’. Members of the union are protesting the non-implementation of agreements entered into with the federal government in 2009 and 2017, as well as funding and improved welfare for members, among other issues. According to Mr Ogunyemi, to ensure that the agreements were implemented, the union had held a series of consultative meetings with the government and written series of letters with little or nothing to the effect. He noted that it was against this backdrop that union resumed strike on November 4. “Since the commencement of this strike, we have had six meetings with agents of the federal government, with no clear commitment from government to resolving the issues we presented. “Government appears to have adopted ‘keep them talking’ strategy while deceiving the public that progress was being made and that partial agreements had been reached between union and government. “We want to say that government has continually and falsely raised the hopes of the Nigerian public on the state of duscussion with our union and we may not be interested in holding further dialogue with them until we see signs of commitment and sincerity in addressing the issues before them. “Our expectation http://www.colossusgists.com/2018/12/ASUU-strike-lecturers-accuse-fg-of.html

The Managing Director, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Mr Saleh Dunoma, says the newly inaugurated international terminal of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, was designed give maximum comfort to air travelers. Dunoma, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Sunday in Abuja. He explained that the facility provided in the new terminal would ensure speedy processing of passengers with a lot of ease. He assured that both the airlines and passengers would experience a great difference compared to what they were used to in the old terminal in terms of space and passengers’ processing equipment. According to him, FAAN is committed to meeting the needs arising from the expected increase in the number of passengers and aircraft movement by proving adequate manpower. “You have gone through that terminal a number of times and you have seen the level of comfort apart from speedy processes because of the number of facilities that are provided. “We expect that each and every passenger will see the difference in terms of facilitation and comfort and also the speed at which we will be processing passengers. “The expectation is that it will take only very few minutes for you to go through either departure or arrival process. “We are not going to shut down any part of the airport, it is going to be a combined effort. “The old terminal will ....... Linda Ikeji has finally and officially revealed Billionaire mogul Jeremi Sholaye as the dad to her son Jayce. The Celebrity blogger has revealed the reason the relationship between her son's father and herself didn't work. In a long epistle shared by the media mogul, it revealed how she met Sholaye back in 2015 at an exquisite restaurant and they both got along almost immediately because of the impression he gave her. The shared epistle below explains the ups and downs in her relationship with Billionaire Sholaye which eventually ended after she got pregnant. Enjoy...... Two days before my 38th birthday on September 17th, I welcomed my first child, my son, Jayce. I look at him and I wonder why I waited so long to have a child. I’ve never known love like this. I literally have tears in my eyes every time I look at him. I can’t believe he came out of me. He is by far my greatest blessing and I’m looking forward to navigating him through life! Now to the reason why you are reading this. I argued with myself for a long time whether to put this out or not…and finally decided it was a story I wanted to share. I've always been open about my life but I'm sharing details about my personal life mostly because of the girls who look up to me. The girls I have mentored, mentoring right now and plan to mentor in the future. I’m very particular about our young girls and I have personally tried over the years to be an example in some way; tried to teach these girls how to fight for their dreams, how to live right and do right and then I go and have a child out of wedlock and that must be a little confusing to some of them and especially with so many untruthful stuff out there about me. The most hilarious is that I had a child for a married man. Lol. Here’s my answer to that! The married man that I will sleep with has not yet been born. If he’s been born, he will die, be buried, rise and die again before he will lay with me. I don’t do married men. The father of my child is a single man and his name is Sholaye Jeremi. To be honest, at some point I thought he was my final bus stop but you know how life happens...lol. Unfortunately, he and I are a completely closed chapter. Sadly for our son Jayce, it’s the kind of chapter that can’t ever be opened again. ........ continue http://www.colossusgists.com/2018/12/linda-ikeji-has-finally-revealed.html

If you're not a member of the force and have a spare $150,000, the hoverbike could still be yours. Orders are open for civilians, but Segura-Conn cautions buyers are screened to ensure they can handle the new tech. In the US, the hoverbike has met Federal Aviation Administration guidelines which mean you do not need a pilot's license to fly the vehicle. Tim Robinson, editor-in-chief of Aerospace magazine, described the vehicle as "pretty limited" when it came to potential police work, but did not pour cold water on the hoverbike, adding it "looks bags of fun." He explained that eVTOLs are limited by current battery technology, but said advances -- particularly in battery energy density, and introducing new materials like graphene -- could increase flight times in the future. Both Hoversurf and Dubai Police said they were working towards this aim, either through battery technology or more efficient propulsion systems. Hoversurf has already developed a ducted fan system it claims is smaller, quieter, safer and more efficient than a propeller with the equivalent thrust, that it plans to add to future models. A manufacturing site for the S3 2019 is yet to be confirmed, but Segura-Conn said Hoversurf is in talks "with three companies in different locations around the world" -- Dubai being one location. The S3 2019 joins an ever-growing crowd http://www.colossusgists.com/2018/11/dubai-police-start-training-on-flying.html

BREAKING NEWS - The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has commenced a nationwide industrial action today Monday, 5th November 2018 following the inability of the Federal Government to respond to its demands. Specifically, the union accused the government of not implementing the Memorandum of Action signed with it, declaring that the strike would be total as all federal and state varsities would join the strike. The union made the announcement after their National Executive Council meeting held at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State on Sunday night. Briefing journalists after the NEC meeting, the National President of the ASUU, Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi said all entreaties made to the Federal Government to honour the agreement with the union fell on deaf ears and they had no other alternative but to begin the strike action. He said, “Having waited patiently for action and meaningful negotiation with reasonable men using the principle of collective bargaining that ASUU at its NEC meeting of 3rd and 4th November 2018 at the FUTA, resolved to resume the nationwide strike action it suspended in September 2017 with immediate effect. “This strike will be total, comprehensive and indefinite. Our members shall withdraw their services until the government fully implements all outstanding issues as contained in the MOA of 2017, and concludes the renegotiation of the 2009 agreements. “We have today been subjected to 20 years of continued re-colonization under alleged democracy in which all the ruling class has been regrouping among themselves in their various factions they called political parties.” Source - http://www.colossusgists.com/2018/11/ASUU-nationwide-strike-begins.html

But, the commission has declined comment on the issue, preferring the media await developments on it. Head of Media and Publicity of the commission, Mr Wilson Uwajeren, told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Abuja that there was “nothing to report at the moment”. “If there is anything, I will get across to you,” he said. While reporting at the EFCC on Tuesday, Fayose had said that he was there to keep his promise to honour the commission’s invitation and to respond to any allegation against him. The former governor, whose tenure ended on Monday, was accompanied to the EFCC by Rivers Governor, Mr Nyesom Wike and former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode. He had at the commission’s office said “I am here in line with my promise that I will be here on the 16th of October.” A senior lawyer, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), had told NAN on Thursday that the EFCC had no right to keep Fayose beyond 24 hours without charging him. He said that it was either that the commission charged the former governor to court or free him so as not to foul the law. According to the human rights lawyer, the EFCC has no right to keep him for over 24 hours. He said “If they have done that by obtaining a Magistrate Court’s order that will be in the form of a holding charge, which has been declared unconstitutional and illegal by the Supreme Court. “Holding charge is illegal. It is unconstitutional.’’ Ozekhome said that the section of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA) permitting a magistrate to detain a suspect for 14 days was illegal. He explained that any action outside the provisions of Section 35 of the Constitution, which specifically provided for 24 hours, was illegal and unconstitutional. He said that the ACJA allowed for detention of a suspect for 14 days, but that Section 35 of the Constitution made it clear that a person could only be detained for 24 hours. “So, when there is a clash between the statute, like the ACJA, and the Constitution, the Constitution prevails by virtue of Section 1(3). “If they have gotten an order for two weeks from the magistrate court, it is unconstitutional,” Ozekhome stressed. He, however, disclosed that efforts had begun to secure the release of Fayose. According to Ozekhome, Fayose’s lawyers are already taking steps to enforce his fundamental human rights by getting him released. “Yes, his lawyers will go to court to enforce his fundamental human rights.” (NAN) Source http://www.colossusgists.com/2018/10/already-5-days-and-fayose-still-in.html

Trending on the internet today is the pretty Igbo wife of PDP Presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar. The former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, is married to a beautiful Igbo lady, Jennifer Iwenjora, who was until their marriage, a reporter with the popular Nigeria Television Authority (NTA). Jenny as she is fondly called, who is a legal practitioner in private practice in the federal capital territory, Abuja, is said to be making underground moves for her hubby to actualized his presidential dream come next year. Her marriage to Atiku, to some came as a shock, being an Igbo woman. But to another set of people, her choice was a fulfilment of who she is - bold, intelligent, fierce and a goal getter. Jenny is from the South-East but loves to be referred to as a Nigerian, with no tribe attached. The former vice president, Atiku Abubakar has totally married up to four wives and has 26 children. As the financial institution formerly known as Skye Bank goes under, the Central Bank of Nigeria has announced that a new bridge bank, Polaris Bank will take over the operations and serve customers. In his speech which announced the dissolution of the troubled Skye Bank, CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele revealed that Polaris Bank will assume the assets and liabilities of the now defunct bank. Having received a capital injection of three-thirds of a trillion naira just over two years ago, the CBN determined that the bank did not stand a chance of meeting its shareholder obligations and intervened to forestall a total crash of the bank. The new bank by the CBN and the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) was then formed with a view to stabilize the operations of the troubled bank and continue to serve its board and customers. The Central Bank of Nigeria has withdrawn the operating license of Skye Bank. Umaru Ibrahim, chairman of the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), made this known to journalists on Friday, September 21, 2018. Umaru said the NDIC in collaboration with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has approved that a bridge bank will be established. Addressing journalists, Godwin Emefiele, CBN governor, said the bridge bank, Polaris Bank, will take on the assets and liabilities of Skye Bank. “Consequently, Polaris Bank Limited has been issued operating license by the CBN and shall commence banking business from today, Friday, 21st September,” Umaru said. “The operating license of Skye Bank has been revoked by the governor of the Central Bank and the NDIC has commenced its liquidation. The capitalization of Polaris Bank Limited is being done by the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria through the injection of about N786 billion to return the bank to soundness and profitability so as to enable its subsequent sale to credible and financially sound third-party acquirers.” Emefiele said that although the bank’s performance improved after July 2016 when the Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria and the CBN stepped in. “The result of our examinations and forensic audit of the bank revealed that the Skye Bank requires urgent recapitalization as it can no longer continue to live on borrowed times with indefinite liquidity support from the CBN. “We wish to assure all depositors that under this arrangement, their deposits shall remain safe and that normal banking services shall continue in the new bank on Monday, 24th September 2018, to ensure customers to transact their businesses seamlessly.” The shares of Skye Bank will be temporarily suspended on the Nigerian Stock Exchange and Polaris Bank will begin operations on Monday in all Skye Bank offices. The 33-year-old left the pitch in tears after an altercation in the box off the ball. After a darting run into the box, he was blocked off by Jeison Murillo. After the Colombian tumbled to the floor, Ronaldo can be spotted gesticulating towards the defender – and the ref has deemed it necessary to give the ex-Real Madrid star a red card. He seemed to be angry at the manner of Murillo’s fall and grabbed the player’s hair, which sparked a mini-brawl between a few team-mates. It means the Portuguese forward will be given an automatic three-game suspension, subject to appeal. Which means Ronaldo will miss the return to Old Trafford but there is a chance it could be overturned. It seemed an innocuous challenge in the 28th minute, leaving Juventus with ten men. It is Ronaldo’s first game in the Champions League for his new club after joining from Real Madrid in the summer. Dele Alli was sent off for violent conduct last year and received a three-match ban. If the Portugal international is given the maximum penalty, it will mean he will miss both United fixtures. Ronaldo spent some time before departing the field in quite a distress. He thrashed out on the floor before breaking out in heaps of tears, having to be helped off the pitch. source - https://colossussportstv.com/en/cristiano-ronaldo-red-card-juventus-star-given-marching-orders-will-miss-man-utd-match/

For those who are religious, you would feel a certain kind of loss. It's permanent. I am not going to tell you if sex is actually sweet and worth all the hype. Coz if I do, then you will accuse me of not being a virgin. And if I don't, well, you never know. Truth is, let no one pressure you into having sex... ...Most people have sex to please their circle of friends yet they think it's their choice. Whereas it's not a choice of WILL but a choice TO BELONG. To be able to say "Yes I have" or "I know what it's like" or "I prefer 69 or missionary" Wrong priority! Some people are currently in a relationship they don't like with people they don't like, doing things they don't like and having sex they don't like just to prove a point to people they don't like. How messed up is that. Then again, some people help the devil do his job, they tempt themselves. Sometimes people want to test your courage when it comes to the subject of sex. You hear statements like: "So you can't visit me, are you a baby?" "Come over jare, it's just a harmless visit" "Sit on the bed, why are you so scared? " "Spend the night, nothing will happen, we are both mature" My sister, my brother, you re a baby! You re scared! Something will happen! No one is ever mature when it comes to sex, your body must react! It's biology! You don't have anything to prove to anyone! When you start having sex, e no dey belleful oh! Don't tempt the devil! St. Phillip says "When it comes to the subject of CHASTITY, cowards are heroes" Igbo people would say "Nkwụcha abụrọ ụjọ" which translates to "Vigilance is not cowardice." ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ Sadly, a lot people have desecrated their bodies so badly even sex itself is angry with them. How can someone's daughter be having sex at the 3rd floor and she's moaning so loud you could hear it from the 2nd floor? I couldn't sleep that night, for over 20 mins! Again, how do you have sex with someone who you know you can never marry? This is beyond me! Worse is, some human beings use hard drugs to energize themselves to pound someone's daughter and future wife. And the someone's daughter and future wife will be shouting "Harder! Harder!" The biological consequences start to set in when your body's biology becomes so dependent on those drugs, it can't function without them. Let me not just talk too much... continue - http://www.colossusgists.com/2018/09/relationship-tip-day-you-start.html

Scientists believe they’ve solved the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle ― and it’s not UFOs or sea monsters. It’s another kind of monster: monster waves. The Bermuda Triangle, also known as the Devil’s Triangle, is a region in the North Atlantic that is generally bounded by Miami, Bermuda and Puerto Rico. Over time, a number of aircraft and ships are said to have disappeared there under mysterious circumstances. According to “The Bermuda Triangle Enigma” on Britain’s Channel 5, scientists now believe conditions in that area were just right for massive rogue waves. “There are storms to the south and north, which come together,” said University of Southampton oceanographer Simon Boxall, per the Sun. “And if there are additional ones from Florida, it can be a potentially deadly formation of rogue waves.” Boxall said these rogue waves could reach 100 feet tall. That would be on par with the largest wave ever recorded: A 100-foot tsunami triggered by an earthquake and landslide in Alaska’s Lituya Bay in 1958, the Smithsonian reported. Using an indoor simulator, scientists discovered that a model of the USS Cyclops ― a ship that disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle in 1918 with 306 people aboard ― was swamped by a wave and sank. A report last year found that a design flaw would make the Cyclops especially susceptible to rogue waves. “She had a flat bottom, she rolled quite easily and on one day she rolled approximately 50 degrees one way, and in the high 40s the other way,” author Marvin W. Barrash told Forces News. “And to many vessels that could have just continued and caused a complete catastrophe.” Two of the Cyclops’ sister ships, Proteus and Nereus, was later lost under similar circumstances. They had the same flaw. Additional simulations showed that a rogue wave of 50 feet would be enough to sink the flat-bottomed ships, Forces News reported. The U.S. Coast Guard says there is nothing particularly hazardous about the Bermuda Triangle: “The Coast Guard does not recognize the existence of the so-called Bermuda Triangle as a geographic area of specific hazard to ships or planes. In a review of many aircraft and vessel losses in the area over the years, there has been nothing discovered that would indicate that casualties were the result of anything other than physical causes. No extraordinary factors have ever been identified.” The National Ocean Service, part of NOAA, expressed similar sentiments. “Environmental considerations could explain many, if not most, of the disappearances,” the agency said, adding that there was no evidence that ships disappeared at a higher rate in the Bermuda Triangle than in any other heavily-trafficked ocean route. “The ocean has always been a mysterious place to humans,” the agency said. “When foul weather or poor navigation is involved, it can be a very deadly place. This is true all over the world.” Source - http://www.colossusgists.com/2018/08/bermuda-triangle-mystery-solved-as.html

The Federal Government has confirmed that Nigeria occupies the first position on the table of countries with a high number of out-of-school children in the world. The government could, however, not justify its claim with a verifiable figure, but insisted that local and international evidence has given credibility to the report that Nigeria has performed poorly in managing out-of-school children. Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Sonny Echono, divulged the information, on Wednesday, at a meeting with the state commissioners of education as part of the 63rd National Council on Education (NCE) meeting, in Abuja. NCE is the annual gathering of state commissioners for education, permanent secretaries, directors and other relevant education stakeholders, to discuss issues of education and propose realistic education policies that could herald significant development in the sector. NCE has education Minister as Chairman and Permanent Secretary as Secretary of Council. The Permanent Secretary, in his remarks, confirmed that a greater percentage of the children are found in northern Nigeria. He said, “The only challenge was that we could not provide an accurate figure to that effect. International organizations use 10.5 million as a figure of out of school children. But our local statistics indicated that 12.7 million was the highest figure and 6.7 million was the lowest figure.” Meanwhile, the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, in his remarks, lamented that absence of reliable and realistic data has continued to affect the implementation of education policies in Nigeria. He was hopeful that the National Enrolment Drive Campaign that was launched in January would address the huge number of out-of-school children in Nigeria, especially in northern Nigeria. Objectives of the campaign, he said, was to encourage states and all stakeholders to appreciate the magnitude of the challenge and possibly develop effective strategies for significant reduction. He said it was also designed to sensitize religious leaders, traditional rulers, and lawmakers to formulate policies that would significantly boost school enrolment. “It was targeted at sensitizing parents and community on the need to invest on their children’s education and ensure compliance to standards as outlined in National Enrolment Framework,” he added. The Minister, thus, appealed to education stakeholders to extensively and constructively discuss identified issues that concern the Nigerian education sector and proffer realistic solutions to identified problems. http://www.colossusgists.com/2018/08/nigeria-ranks-highest-in-out-of-school.html

Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Muhammad Badaru has said that the state will soon start the exportation of goats to Kuwaiti and other Arab countries as its goats' multiplication farming programme begin to yields results. The state government had distributed over 600 goats to 220 women in 2016 Jigawa State in its goats' multiplication farming programme. Each of the women was given three goats and they were expected to make certain returns to the government over a certain period. Governor Badaru who spoke at a seminar on “Validation Workshop on Capacity Gaps for Implementing Holistic Empowerment for Livelihood Programme (HELP)” noted that 90 percent of the women who benefitted from the programme have abided the conditions by returning three goats each to the government as interest on the goats earlier distributed to them. “As soon as we have enough of these goats we will export them to Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, just to mention a few. In Jigawa we have been able to produce large number of goats after distributing 3 goats each to over 600 women. The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the industry stakeholders have highlighted how digital technology is reshaping the banking industry and provided in-depth insights into various market trends and advances both locally and globally. The apex bank was speaking at a forum organized by Inlaks, a leading system integrator in Sub-Saharan Africa in partnership with Temenos, the global banking software company, and HID, an American manufacturer of secure identity solutions in Lagos. Presenting a keynote address at the forum with the theme “Banking in the Digital Age”, Deputy Director, Other Financial Institutions Supervision (OFIS) Department, CBN, Adedeji Adesemoye identified fundamental approaches that banks can use to enhance their digital capabilities. Adesemoye itemized financial inclusion and digitization as a means that can foster innovation across products, business models and allow straight-through processing that can automate and digitize a number of repetitive, low-value, and low-risk processes. He further stressed that the need for banks to have a vision of their future, technology, infrastructure and a well-defined corporate culture are major factors that determine whether a bank is successful in this age. In a similar vein, Head of Sales – Microfinance & Saas (Africa), Temenos, Nehal Batavia shared that Temenos has been providing innovative solutions to financial institutions worldwide for 25 years. We’ve all been at the McDonald’s drive-thru window, salivating over the food that has been handed to us only a matter of seconds after we ordered it – but how does it get there so quickly? Reporter NEIL ATHEY took a look behind the scenes at one of the chain's restaurants “A MEAL needs to be completed in about 60 seconds,” says crew trainer Will Harvey in the kitchen of the Rising Bridge McDonald’s restaurant. “We’ve got to respond to an order in five seconds and start the process immediately, it’s a really fast run,” says Will as he places fresh buns in the toaster. Numerous alarms and signals go off at once as the complex cooking system tells staff food is either ready to go or has been standing too long and needs to be thrown away. Taking my first steps into the kitchen, I thought it looked chaotic and demanding, however, I discovered there was a rigorous, tried and tested system all the staff is accustomed to. Each station - fries, burgers, drinks and ice cream - has a dedicated staff member constantly producing orders which are distributed via a hi-tech computer network. A £900,000 refurbishment of the restaurant, which took place over six months, has transformed how the staff work on a daily basis. Shabana Khan, the assistant manager, showed me how the drive-thru is monitored and how cars are followed from order to delivery, making sure the process is as quick as possible. Shabana said: “The technology has really helped us so much. “The kitchen is a lot calmer and more efficient, we get food out a lot quicker and customers are able to tuck in sooner than ever before. “Our record for the most drive-thru orders completed in one hour is 114, but we’d love to beat it.” I don my McDonald’s cap, continue -http://www.colossusgists.com/2018/07/review-how-busy-restaurant-kitchen.html

A niece of former Vice President Joe Biden was sentenced Thursday to two years of probation for committing more than $100,000 worth of credit card fraud at a New York City store. For nearly a year, Caroline Biden, 31, used an unidentified victim’s Chase credit card at Bigelow’s pharmacy, the New York Post reported. According to prosecutors, the victim had given Biden permission to make a $672 purchase with the card. But Biden then used the card to open a customer account at the Manhattan shop without the cardholder’s approval and racked up the tab over a year. "I not only acknowledge my conduct and take responsibility, but deeply regret the harm caused." “I not only acknowledge my conduct and take responsibility, but deeply regret the harm caused,” she told the judge. Biden insisted that she had “made amends” and would not repeat her mistakes. In June 2017, Biden admitted to grand larceny and petty larceny, with an agreement to get two years’ probation if she repaid the money, worked 10 days of community service and avoided re-arrest for a year. She completed 10 days of community service at a children’s hospital and repaid more than $110,000 in restitution. Biden told the New York judge she’s still working with the volunteer program because she loves the children and it’s been very fulfilling. Biden was charged in 2013 with hitting a police officer during a dispute with her roommate. She got anger management treatment, and the case was dismissed. With its historically-low fertility rate, Japan is considered a "super-aged" nation, where most of the populace is over 65. The successor to Nabi Tajima as oldest woman is yet to be officially confirmed by Guinness. The title of the oldest man in Japan is currently held by Masazo Nonaka, who turned 113 on July 25. As of February 2018, there were 69,000 people over 100 years old, according to Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, 9,000 of them are men, and 60,000 of them are women. Though centenarians are spread across Japan, in Okinawa, the ratio is among the world's highest: about 50 per 100,000 people. With over 1,000 centenarians, Okinawa has earned a reputation as a "land of the immortals" and is one of five "Blue Zones," areas around the world in which people live much longer than average. But Japan's case is no longer unique. By 2020, there will be 13 "super-aged" countries, according to a 2014 report by Moody's Investors Service. As aging populations increase, the pressure to care for the elderly can put a strain on families as well as social systems. The International Monetary Fund predicts that the working-age populations in many mature Western economies will fall more than 20% between 2015 and 2055, along with their gross domestic product. But increasingly, silver populations do not necessarily spell disaster. "It's important to realize that older populations present challenges but also opportunities," said John Roland Beard, director of the Department of Aging and Life Course at the World Health Organization. "We need to shift away from the outdated stereotype that people retire and that's that, to ensuring that older people can continue to participate in society." Makoto Suzuki, an 84-year-old cardiologist and pioneering geriatrician agrees with Beard's stance. He has chosen to focus his research on what older people can do to stay healthy while continuing to contribute to society. "We need longer-living, healthier, happier old people," he told CNN in March. Sourcehttp://www.colossusgists.com/2018/07/worlds-oldest-person-nabi-tajima-dies.html

The suspect, from Abeokuta, Ogun State, who is a member of Eiye Confraternity, said her role was to keep arms for the cult group’s members whenever they are going for an operation. Abiola said she was introduced to the gang by one Sadiq, a leader of their group, who usually brought the pictures of the victims they were to eliminate. Abiola said, “I was initiated to Eiye Confraternity through a brother called Sadiq. I met him at Ilasamaja immediately I came to Lagos. I was looking for job when I met him and he told me to join the group where I will be making a living without stress.” According to her, Sadiq was a leader of Eiye Confraternity in llasamaja area who trained her on how to use guns to kill people. She further revealed that they normally disguised themselves while going for operations, with women wearing hijabs and men dressing in ‘jalabias’ form to avoid suspicion. She added that she was paid N10,000 while the men got N20,000 each after every operation. According to CP Edgal, Abiola confessed to having personally killed four people and that she was under oath. He said that on July 13, based on a credible source that rival cult groups were fighting in Alafia area of Mushin, detectives from Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (FSARS) swiftly mobilized to the scene and arrested one Sadiq Oyewunmi and Ihioma Emeka. “They were subsequently searched during which two live cartridges and two locally made revolver pistols with ammunition were recovered from them. “During an investigation, the suspects confessed to being members of a secret cult group known as Eiye Confraternity. Oyewunmi actually confessed that during their cult activities, his brother, named Waheed Oyewunmi, was shot dead by the rival cult group led by Emeka Ihioma whom, he alleged, pulled the trigger of the gun that killed his brother.” http://www.colossusgists.com/2018/07/see-lagos-female-cultist-who-kills-for.html

President Trump warned Iranian President Hassan Rouhani early Monday that he will face dire consequences for threatening the United States. Mr. Trump tweeted about the dangers to Iran of making hostile threats after Rouhani said Sunday, "American must understand well that peace with Iran is the mother of all peace and war with Iran is the mother of all wars." Mr. Trump earlier this year pulled the United States out of the international deal meant to prevent Tehran from developing a nuclear weapon and ordered increased American sanctions. Rouhani had warned Mr. Trump Sunday to stop "playing with the lion's tail" and threatening Iran, "or else you will regret it." Mr. Trump has suggested Iranian leaders are "going to call me and say 'let's make a deal'" but Iran has rejected talks. Rouhani has previously lashed out against Mr. Trump for threatening to re-impose the sanctions, as well as for moving the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem and banning travel to the U.S. from certain Muslim-majority countries. Mr. Trump's early Monday tweet suggested he has little patience with the trading of hostile messages with Iran, using exceptionally strong language and writing an all-capitalized message: Mr. Trump has a history of firing off heated tweets that seem to quickly escalate long-standing disputes with leaders of nations at odds with the U.S. In the case of North Korea, the public war of words cooled quickly and gradually led to the high profile summit and denuclearization talks. The Reuters news service says, "The escalation in rhetoric came as the Trump administration has launched an offensive of speeches and online communications meant to foment unrest and help pressure Iran to end its nuclear program and its support of militant groups, according to U.S. officials familiar with the matter." In California, Sunday, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was strongly critical of Tehran. He called the religious leaders of Iran "hypocritical holy men" who amassed vast sums of wealth while allowing their people to suffer, part of a highly critical broadside issued as the republic approached the 40th anniversary of its Islamic revolution and the U.S. prepared to reimpose the economic sanctions. In a speech at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum, Pompeo castigated Iran's political, judicial and military leaders, too, accusing several by name of participating in widespread corruption. He also said the government has "heartlessly repressed its own people's human rights, dignity and fundamental freedoms." He said despite poor treatment by their leaders, "the proud Iranian people are not staying silent about their government's many abuses." "And the United States under President Trump will not stay silent either. In light of these protests and 40 years of regime tyranny, I have a message for the people of Iran: The United States hears you," he said. "The United States supports you. The United States is with you." http://www.colossusgists.com/2018/07/us-president-trump-warns-iran-in-all.html

Leicester City has rejected a £12m bid from Saudi Arabian club side Al Nassr for Nigerian forward Ahmed Musa. Nassr’s attempt to get one of the impressive players from the World Cup has hit a snag as Leicester City have turned down their bid. Musa was a subject of the bid from Nassr after an impressive 2018 FIFA World Cup campaign where he scored two goals for the Super Eagles of Nigeria. The 25-year-old caught the eye in Russia with his impressive brace in Nigeria’s 2-0 win over Iceland in a Group D game. Although is not confirmed why the bid was rejected it is thought that Leicester City is hoping to recoup the £16.6m they spent on him in 2016. Musa joined Leicester City from CSKA Moscow but the Nigeria international was not able to secure regular football at the 2016 Premier League champions. After one and half seasons in England, Musa rejoined CSKA Moscow on loan last season. Musa managed five goals for Leicester City in 33 games. http://www.colossusgists.com/2018/07/leicester-city-reject-12m-from-saudi.html
