I can tell you authoritatively that Ekong is having the best of his club career right now not all these Sweden,Belgium or Turkey club careers.
It’s not a sin if national team helps our players in their careers. If you say playing for SE exposed him to d world I go gree. But say it improved him. I no gree. If na so why other players no improve.?? |

Joebie: The point is those are not stand out performers in the same league, but they made the list because of a lack of QUALITY options in their playing positions. Mikel is out, there is no excuse not to invite a stand out performer in the same league. We can definitively do without one striker, midfielder or defender that was included that list, a player who would most likely not even play any part in the Libya double header, to include Eze who can likely play a part as an AM in case Iwobi is deployed elsewhere or gets injured. Common sense stuff.
Modified To keep it simple, we have only one player who can DELIVER as an AM in that list — Iwobi. But he can still have a bad day. Yes it would ve been good if he was invited. I know he will get his invite. My wishes has been to introduce players in friendlies where they can play without pressure. We should not loose sleep bro. Eberechi Eze is for SE. Quote me anywhere. England is just wasting time. |

Troost is a perfect example. Pls don't even bring troost into this your pull him down ish. He was already a club captain in Sweden @ 21 or so before he was called up. His S-curve was moving up. He was improving as a player. It wasn't the SE that improved him. If it were to be Oboaboana & Omeruo should be @ Mancity & Chelsea by now. He deserved his call up then cos we were lacking options @ the back at the time. |

Look at Chuks Aneke in the very lowly league two he is supposed to be a midfielder but is the outstanding stand out player for club and in that league.
Have you thought about Josh Maja too goal scorer league 1, ❓
The NFF should get them attached before they blow up and it becomes problematic. I really don't know what they are doing with Ebere Eze as well. Chuks Aneke again. That dude ain't improving bro. After he was released by Arsenal his S-curve just dey point downwards. 11games already, he was only in 3. Him get injury??. For crying out loud. This is Nigeria super eagles. 2018/19 UEFA Champions League, Group Stage LYON2 FT 2 Moussa Dembélé (70') Léo Dubois (72') Moraes (44', 55') Lyon rally for draw with Shakhtar Donetsk in match behind closed doors 10:44 PM Reuters Lyon produced a stirring fightback to claw back two superb goals from Shakhtar Donetsk's Junior Moraes and rescue a 2-2 draw behind closed doors in a thrilling end-to-end contest at their Groupama Stadium on Tuesday. Lyon, serving a one-game crowd ban for trouble caused by their fans during their Europa League tie against CSKA Moscow in March, looked set to pay the price as their early performance fell as flat as the atmosphere in the eerily-silent 59,000-seat arena. Looking nothing like the inspired, organised outfit that had defeated Manchester City sensationally 2-1 in England in their opening Group F match, Lyon were outplayed in the first half and deservedly fell behind just before the break to a superb left-footed strike from Moraes. Shakhtar Donetsk players celebrate after scoring a goal against Lyon. Getty Images The Brazilian then doubled the lead with an even better second 10 minutes after half-time, curling his slide rule, side-footed effort into the corner from a narrow angle. Suddenly, if belatedly, Lyon roused themselves, with Moussa Dembele finally heading one back in the 70th minute after having already missed two fine chances and Leo Dubois striking his first goal for the club just a couple of minutes later. Both sides hunted for the winner with abandon in the last quarter-hour with first the Ukrainians looking as if they might collapse under the fightback but then almost stealing victory with a late flourish when a shot from substitute Olarenwaju Kayode struck the bar.
The draw left Lyon still at the head of the table on four points but Manchester City, who had earlier won 2-1 at Hoffenheim, took over in second place with three points as Shakhtar had to settle for a second successive 2-2 draw https://www.google.com.ng/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=http://www.espn.com/soccer/report%3FgameId%3D526488&ved=2ahUKEwips6bD1endAhURzoUKHaQtCgUQFjAAegQIBhAB&usg=AOvVaw2jhjAp-_UUCTBS18DxyDya[/quote Struck the bar ni Goal aiiii! TheSuperNerd: Our possible XI ahead of the Libya game in a 4-2-3-1 formation set-up based on the list.
With this list, the possibilities in the attack are enormous. Multiple kinds of combos in the starting XI would still guarantee a strong bench in attack.
We know Ighalo will start as the No.9 in the first leg unless.... Well in all, we know Success is coming for that no 9 shirt. So Ighalo better be on his toes and buckle up really fast.
But the three guys behind the no.9... aha.. this is where it gets really exciting...
For the AM role, Iwobi. Or would Rohr wanna have both Iheanacho and Iwobi on the pitch together again? In that set-up, we could see Iwobi as LMF, Nacho as AMF and Kalu as RMF.
But with Iwobi as AMF, we could have Musa as LMF and Kalu as RMF.
Onyekuru is not likely to start. Simon Moses starting depends on if Rohr benches our likely Captain Musa or an Iwobi if not I doubt Simon would start.
Success' time will come. I reckon he may get game time depending on Ighalo'a output upfront in these two Libya games.
In Central and defensive midfield, we would see Ndidi likely pairing Onazi again leaving Etebo and Ogu on the bench.
In defence, I expect Aina to start ahead of Shehu at RB as Shehu is just returning to action while Aina has been turning heads in Italy with his solid performances. I hope he convinces further in camp to seal that spot too. In Ebuehi's absence, I reckon with Aina over Shehu. A fit and in form Shehu may edge it but he is just returning while Aina has been balling at both RWB and LWB. I just feel Aina should win the battle for that starting slot at RB.
At LB, I think Rohr will stick with Idowu. Collins will have to play second fiddle again. Mind you Aina is also another option at LB if Rohr goes with Shehu at RB and feels Aina should be deployed on the left.. you may never know with this man sometimes. Lol
In Central defence, We expect to see the Oyibo wall in action together again since they last played together against Argentina at Russia 2018. Ekong and Balogun easily starts. Semi Ajayi, Awaziem (yet to get games under his belt), and Omeruo (also yet to feature) will all bench.
In goal, the last line of defence, of course we know Uzoho starts again as he seeks to get his 5th clean sheet in his 11th cap for the Super Eagles.
Ezenwa and Akpeyi are mere backups and I, honestly, am pretty tired of seeing them on the list but I guess we have to deal with it for now. Better options like Dele Ajiboye, Okeimute Odah, and most popular of them all, Theophilus Afelokhai are available but time will tell.
For the long run, talents like Dele Alampasu and Maduka Okoye would hopefully grow and become fine options in goal too.
At the cadet/age grade levels, we still got our eyes on the likes Gavin Bazunu and Arthur Okonkwo for the long-long term.
In conclusion, I just feel these are some of the feasible approaches Rohr may try out in a 4-2-3-1. Sebastian Osigwe might sneak into d mix soon |

[quote author=komekn post=71693639]I am actually pro nothing.
I actually think that in the context of strikers both of them are very poor.
However our options are so limited that the, available has become desirable in the absence of anything better.
KC has been very poor for a £25 million player bought as a striker. Ighalo in the colors of the SE has also been poor, but not in his league where he has a good scoring record . Albeit not the best league.
It's for that reason before Injury stopped his progression, I called for OBAGOAL who I felt offered more than both of them. [/quote
