kokoA: You people should be deceiving yourselves.. GEJ has lost goodwill everywhere. What you see online is a reflection of what's happening on the streets. I've been opportune to travel across almost all the zones of Nigeria within this year, the only zones you'd visit and find people arguing in favour of GEJ are SE and SS. Up north you dare not support GEJ in public except you're looking for trouble, in the SW you'd get a good number agreeing that GEJ is a mistake, the NC where I come from, we are usually less concerned about federal politics, but I can tell you a lot of people here feel the government has done very badly due to frequent BH and fulani attack. I travel alot also and I can tell you that it is only in North east and some part of north west that are really against GEJ. in Lagos u can not get a real clear-cut. The election will be highly competitive but I foresee Jonathan winning. |

Politics › Re: Are Tan Ambassadors Blind To What Is Happening In The Country? by comos: 1:52pm On Sep 24, 2014 |
oluamid: Sule Lamido (gov of Jigawa State) was part of the G7 govs who wanted to leave the PDP for the APC, suddenly, his son was convicted for money laundering, $50,000 to be precise. What did Mr Lamido do? He immediately back-tracked and along with Babangida Aliyu, G7 became G5. Then Mr Lamido decided to join the presidential race via the PDP and was vocal about his intentions. Many close-door meetings (threats?) later, Sule Lamido suddenly sees the light and has agreed that President Goodluck jonathan should contest the 2015 elections unchallenged. Ironically, when other political parties do this they are termed "undemocratic". Obinna Metuh, the Publicity Secretary of the PDP, went on National tv to call APC the J.anjaweed party and accused APC members of sponsoring Boko Haram. Only recently did an Australian negotiator who was purportedly negotiating with the Boko Haram at the behest of the FG came out to say Ali Modu Sheriff (Fmr gov of Borno State), Gen Ihejirika (Fmr Chief of Army Staff) and an unnamed high-ranking official of the CBN are the ones funding Boko Haram. Both Sheriff and Ihejirika are high-ranking members of the present government. Not to mention the on-going case of money laundering of $9.5m in South Africa by people who allegedly are trying to procure military hardware for the FG. Guess whose private jet was used to ferry that amount from Nigeria to S.A, Papa Ayo Oritsejafor's, the CAN President who many are accusing of turning the Christian Association of Nigeria into the religious arm of the PDP. Of course, as it is usually done when it involves members of the present government, no one is under probe over these serious allegations. Yet, some hastily set-up 8000 or so pseudo-NGOs suddenly want Nigerians to see GEJ in the same light as Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King and Lee Kuan Yew. I can only laugh (bitterly) and hope "stomach infrastructure" would not make the youth of this country sell their birthrights to politicians who does not give a rat-ass about them. TAN ambassadors, over to you. Note: I'm not a supporter of any political party. Remove the log in your eyes before seeing the specks in another man eyes. what about the monumental corruption that APC is carrying out here in Lagos? It will be better to touchlight those this area before going national |

That's why there is a high level of discipline in the military, they don't tolerate mutiny or insubordination but the military can tolerate traitor (the GOC) *who sent their colleagues to their early grave * who cut their monthly allowance from N30,000 to N15,000 * who starve of food them in war front * Who did not approve adequate weapon for them to battle BH * who demoralize them in many ways. may GOD save the lives of those gallant 12-soldiers |

Politics › Re: Fayemi Is No Longer Paying Us – Ekiti Civil Servants Cry Out by comos: 2:26pm On Sep 04, 2014 |
Badex10: by Adedayo Ademuwagun It's been more than two months since the election in Ekiti state, and some civil servants claim that since the elections, they have been going without pay. This week, health workers at the Ekiti State Teaching Hospital threatened to strike because they hadn't been paid for July and August. Local government workers also struck for two weeks last month, but have since resumed work. Anike, a worker in one of the local government secretariats and said she's not been paid for two months. "They've not paid us since June. The government never did this before the election. "They used to pay salaries every month end without fail. But since the election, they've changed. The government has lost motivation "We heard rumours that Fayemi has said we should wait till October when the person we voted for will be in charge," she concluded. Adebola, a teacher at a public secondary school in Ife-Ekiti, said she just got paid for July only week ago. "I was paid last week. What we heard is that the government has a lot of debt to pay and Fayemi has said he cannot borrow any more money to pay salaries. So we should wait till the government gets the next federal allocation." Banke works at one of the government ministries. She says, "I've not been paid, but some people were paid in our ministry last week. That means they've begun to pay our salaries and those of us who haven't been paid will be paid soon." Speaking with YNaija, the Ekiti Commissioner for Information, Tayo Ekundayo refuted the stories. "We're not owing anyone for June or July. We only have August salaries to pay up, and we are working on it. August just ended a few days ago. So it's not like we've taken a long time. Since we took charge four years ago, we've been paying salaries very promptly. In some other states, the government perpetually owes its workers months of salary. But we've never been like that." In Ekiti, the government is the largest employer of labour and most workers in the state work in the civil service. Reports suggest that civil servants were disaffected by certain Fayemi policies concerning them prior to the election and that this caused them to vote for his opponent, Ayo Fayose. The governor- elect will assume office on October 16. APC finally showing their true colour. I pity osun people, |
Politics › Re: APC Believes In Boko Haram More Than The Nigerian Army by comos: 2:20pm On Sep 04, 2014 |
mikeansy: Nigerians must be careful on how we speak on National security issues. This is not a market place conversation where you talk anyhow! The APC chieftain declaring the truth has finally come out to claims the COAS is a terrorist sponsor just because a terrorist said so is irresponsible. It's one thing to quote dr Davis but it is quite another to add your own conclusions to the end of the quote and also make those subjective conclusions public! It's like DR Davis saying an Army Chief sacked in January was said to be Boko haram sponsor by Boko Haram commanders and el Rufai going to the media with Ihejirika is a Boko haram sponsor. These 2 things are not the same. El Rufai is doing more than quoting dr Davis here! He has simply drawn 2 conclusions and Made these conclusions public and these have legal implication! He has concluded the sacked army chief is Ihejirika and he has also concluded that Ihejirika is guilty! Nigerians must learn how to discuss National security issues or discuss politics! The utterances of some of our politicians are embarrassing! Ihejirika will have no credible case against dr Davis in court as dr Davis did not mention his name nor accuse him of anything. Dr Davis simply quoted Boko haram commanders. El Rufai on the other hand quoted dr Davis and also made 2 conclusions that can be challenged in court. This explains why Sherrif threatens dr Davis with court action while Ihejirika attacks el Rufai! APC = BOKO HARAM |
