Bizibi: I am not interested in Biafra but we as Niger deltans should focus on developing the region ourselves,we shouldn't cry fr resource control now but use the little we have to develop......with time that resource control will be solved,I have investors that will invest in nigeria,I thought of bringing them to Lagos but after what that oba did and the aftermath of the election,I concluded and said any company I bring here must be in my region and abj,I found out that we are not one at all in this country, every region should develop itself and should stop crying foul all the time and I have noticed that after a region rubs a mud on your face and succeed in their agenda, they will turnaround and say we are are brothers. we as Niger deltans have to put more pressure on our state govs concerning policies on investment and other significant areas,we will get there in the near future but we have to contribute our quota instead of waiting for govt to do everything for us,when we begin to develop fast as a region then we can bring up the resource control issue and I bet it will be resolved because when you have something and you don't make use of it well you cannot come out again to say you want full control when you know the progress in your house is still in slow motion development. exactly |

Politics › Re: Group Kicks Against Buruji Kashamu’s Extradition Suit by comos: 8:35am On May 08, 2015 |
dennyzoidea: A group, Justice Watch Group of Nigeria, on Thursday petitioned the chief judge of the Federal High Court, questioning the morality of the case instituted by Ogun State Senator-elect, Buruji Kashamu, over his possible extradition to the United States of America. Mr. Kashamu was indicted in 1998 by a grand jury in Illinois, U.S., over alleged drugs offences. The senator-elect recently sued the Inspector-General of Police and 11 others including the Nigerian Drug Laws Enforcement Agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Department of State Security, to forestall any future extradition. The case is currently before Justice O.E Abang of the Federal High Court Lagos. The petition signed by the group’s chairman, Modele Arise, said as much as the body was committed to the attainment of fairness and justice in Nigeria, it worried that virtually all cases relating to Mr. Kashamu tend to end up before “specific judges” . ”We have been watching very keenly the trend in the Federal High Court whereby cases filed by or filed against Buruji Kashamu or anything bothering on his interest, most especially on Ogun State political issues end up before specific judges of the Federal High Court, Lagos,” it said. It pointed out that before now, all of Mr. Kashamu’s cases were handled by Justice C.B Archibong, who, it alleged, churned out judgments in favour of Mr. Kashamu until he was dismissed by the National Judicial Commission following complaints. “The Honourable Judge (now dismissed) was churning out judgments at such alarming rate in favour of Buruji Kashamu and the appointed Ogun State PDP executive committee that some judgments were not more than two paragraphs long,” the group said. “The eventual dismissal of the judge from the service was related to the complaints against the judge on these judgments to the National Judicial Commission among several others.” It noted that since the dismissal of Mr. Archibong, virtually all cases pertaining to Mr. Kashamu were now before Justice Abang, who, the group alleged, dispensed judgments in the same manner as Mr. Archibong. “Sir, you may crosscheck and see the number of Ogun State PDP exco cases already determined by Honourable Justice O.E Abang in favour of the Buruji Kashamu faction,” the group said in its petition, which was copied to the NJC. “We are crying out now because we are informed that the case filed by Buruji Kashamu against his extradition to the United States has found its way to Honourable Justice O.E Abang. We are greatly disturbed by the fact that the outcome of this new case will not be different from the outcome of previous cases filed by Buruji Kashamu. “There is no doubt in our minds that Buruji Kashamu will stop at nothing to ensure that he obtains a favourable judgment before the end of the current political dispensation. Sir, it is for this reason we hope that you will prevail in this situation by doing the needful and ensuring the promotion of justice.” Group kicks against Buruji Kashamu’s extradition suit - Premium Times Nigeria http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/more-news/182601-group-kicks-against-buruji-kashamus-extradition-suit.html he is an elected senator, he won't be extradited. it can only happen when his tenure is over. |

Nwachukwu, who spoke yesterday, said: “Ndigbo should know that our relationship with the government and party has not changed and will not change. We must not allow the unfortunate statement credited to the Oba of Lagos, HRH Rilwanu Akiolu, to make us lose focus and act negatively in order not to expose our investment in Lagos to risk.” The Eze Ndigbo enjoined the Igbo not to be afraid of their safety in the state. He said the Igbo cannot be intimidated, adding: “My people should vote wisely by voting for Ambode and other APC candidates to cement the cordial relationship between us and the Yoruba.” JK for sure |
