naijapikin04: https://nextedition.com.ng/2019/02/17/postponement-ad-hoc-staff-protest-non-payment-allowance-benue/
Hundreds of ad-hoc staff posted to Ushongo local government area of Benue on Saturday morning staged a protest to demand the payment of their transport allowance by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
Our correspondent gathered that the ad-hoc staff had besieged INEC’s office in the town as early as 8 am demanding that they be given transport fare as well as other allowances as promised them by the commission.
They lamented that most of them had to sleep in the open and some in the buses throughout the night.
Trouble however, started when their demand was not being attended to causing them to protest.
Eyewitnesses who do not want to be named said the ad-hoc staff took to the streets, blocked the entrance to the INEC office and were preparing grounds to start burning used car tyres before the security Joint Task Force arrived the scene to calm the tension.
Some of the affected ad-hoc staff who spoke on the condition of anonymity expressed disappointment in the whole process and urged INEC to make better arrangements for them before next Saturday’s elections.
Postponement: Ad-hoc Staff Protest Non Payment of Allowance In Benue
A staff of INEC who wanted to remain anonymous said they did not refuse to pay them but had asked the ad-hoc staff to show their identity cards.
At the tme of filing this report, normalcy had been restored as the INEC officials had commenced payment of their allowances. You see the Nigerian problem, that's why they prefer yahoo-yahoo too working hard, if they demanded for their transport allowance only - that is understandable- but for other allowances For what naa- They are all thieves- can you see those ad-hoc staff, are the ones that would collect bribe from politicians to rig elections- |

legalmatters36: Painful Tears of Imo People.
Governor Okorocha, we have a moral question for you, that is if you still have morals and conscience in you as a christian which you professes
In 2011 during the Imo Political Debate , you boasted that you are descending to be Governor, and promised to do only one term and hand over to Owerri Zone, but you reneged on that promise made before God and man at the Assumpta Cathedral Church Owerri and completed your constitutionally Guaranteed two terms of eight years as Executive Governor of Imo State but rather than look for a credible technocrat from Owerri Zone or Okigwe Zone as your successor in the spirit of equity and fairness , you resorted to building Okorocha's political dynasty in Imo State by insulting the entire Imo populace that the only qualified and credible candidate to succeed you in office is your first son in-law, Uche Nwaosu, meaning that upon the expiration of your tenure as Governor, while your wife is vacating her office as the First lady of Imo state your first daughter Uloma will step in , Mother will be handing over to her daughter .
Governor Okorocha, recall that the only Ministerial slot that came to Imo state you gave it to your in-law whose Son married your second daughter Prof Anthony Anwuka, your reign as the Governor of Imo State you have seized and confiscated all state lands and shared it among your family members, you have displaced a lot families in Imo State by the demolition of virtually all the markets in the state, forcing many families whose means of livelihood depends on those markets into abject poverty while your family members became millionaires overnight. You have continued to play politics with the welfare of the elderly by refusing to pay their pensions, citing pension fraud as an excuse, civil servants are not left out in your harsh policies, hence you have reduced their salary to 70% thereby impoverishing Imolites.
You have destroyed all the roads in the state in the name of your urban renewal project, flood has taken over the entire state, it is amazing that you have barely five months to leave office yet these roads are still in shambles, nothing has been done till date, now that the rains are over , what are you still waiting for ?, another rainy season to be used as excuse as usual , it is very painful and wicked of you that while other states are celebrating good and laudable projects, you are constructing sub-standards roads in Imo which are failing before your very eyes .
Governor Okorocha should know that with what he has done in Imo ,history and posterity will never forgive him , you have written your name in the negative side of history, you have been tested with leadership of Imo State and you failed woefully and exhibited a level of greed unknown to mankind, your fantasy of becoming the President of this country has become an illusion because you have exposed to the whole nation the true character of the man called Rochas Okorocha .
With your poor leadership style if Nigeria as a nation make the mistake of entrusting the treasury of this nation into your care then we will migrate from third World to Sixth World and brace up for the worst from you because your son in-law must succeed you at all cost at the detriment of entire nation, probably plugging the country into another civil war.
The Imo people that gave you the mandate you and your family members are enjoying today are all in tears and pains because of your policies and actions, rather than reward them with good economic projects as witnessed in other states, you resorted to land grabbing, deceit and financial embezzlement of the highest order, imagine the video that has gone viral in the social media exposing your wife's estate at Akachi ,what a corrupt family.
Remember Governor Okorocha, with your mansions and properties scattered all over the nation, all the billions in the banks both local and overseas, everybody will end up at the level (Grave) which is not up to the size of one room and you have destroyed the reputation of your family because Nde Imo will never allow or entrust leadership of the state to any other member of the Okorocha family, we will not forget the pains and horror inflicted on us by the Okorocha's in a hurry. .
By the grace of God Governor okorocha's so called myth of invincibility and his dream of creating a political dynasty in Imo has crumbled, Imo still lives.
