I'm still patiently waiting to hear what exactly you have to say (if you truly have any). You've still not been able to say anything meaningful besides just calling the minister all sort of names. Or is that what makes you 'brilliant'?

You started this thread claiming that as a non-medical practioner, you were more intelligent than the health minister because you knew the local names of artemisin (and that the minister didnt know it). Please tell us more.
I am far more intelligent than the health minister. In no small measure!

My only regret is that I share the same country with people like you.

Shouldn't you be ashamed of yourself? What do you gain by pressuring everyone into approving drugs without clinical trials? You guys did the same thing to WHO only to discover that Chloroquine is not the cure the world needs. The high level of ignorance you lots put out there led many into buying chloroquine unaware of the side effects to the body. I won't be surprised to know people like you popularized salt and water as the cure for Ebola.
Liar!

What exactly makes the govt inactive here? Choosing to analyse an untested herbal extract first before administrering it to patients, is that what makes govt inactive?

Which kind of lamentations do we even have all over this thread?

Like seriously, the ministry of health takes delivery of an unapproved drug, and says it will be subject to analysis to verify its efficacy and safety. You and several others call the minister a FOOL for this action.

Please tell me, did you expect the ministry of health to just take an unapproved traditional extract and start administering it to people? Is this what would have made the minister 'brilliant' in your opinions?

There are processes involved. There are lots of other drugs that WHO gave no attention to. A drug without dosage and recognised ingredients is not accepted by Medical Science anywhere in the world. For those criticizing WHO on whatever ground, DON'T JUMP INTO CONCLUSION ON WHAT YOU HAVE NO CLUE ABOUT.

My Take on Luxury Cars
It just depends on what you call luxury.
E.g Nigerians have their own way of interpreting luxury.
Benz can never be taken out from luxury cars. Although a lot of cars are giving out a lot of techs.
My brother owns a Citroen SUV, he wanted to change it to buy Benz gl250 2015 model.
We checked the techs in the Citroen and the Benz doesn’t have lots of it.

I simply advices him to stick with his car or buy a higher Citroen or newer Benz.

Tech is his luxury like warm chair, navigation, weight control tech, Assist Driver( this is where the car even knows if you fall asleep and it will vibrate and warn u) etc
These are luxury to him
French cars are quite complicated

We understand that it is something called Artemisia Annua, which also grows here.
What's this nonsense? As a non medical personnel I have done far better research into this plant... gotten the local names..

fatdick:
I couldn't find the yoruba name too. I'm trying to carry out a study on this plant.

Modified:

Botanical name: Aretemisia annua
English - Annual wormwood, sweet wormwood
Yoruba - Ewe Egbin
Zulu - Umhlonyane
Ibibio - Mkpatat
Hausa - Tazargade (Baaba)
