Don't you think you are being unfair. Granted she was 18 years old when it happened but the man was her teacher. He took advantage of her. She could have said no of course but he was in a place of authority. He took advantage of her innocence. I am sure she probably fancied herself in love with him. Honestly it sounds from her post that she might have spent many years imagining that things will be normal. It does not sound like she is a man eater or a fast woman. She was young and made a mistake but the man really is the irresponsible one here
18 is an adult in nigeria.
the teacher didn't take no advantage of her. they both knew the consequences of their action but still decided to press further.
they were both responsible for the pregnancy.

yes, the man abused a position of trust, knocked up his student but by the same token, the babe could have said no.
a single no would have prevented intercourse, let alone teenage pregnancy.
let's apportion blame without prejudice.

city reveal plans for multimillion-pound training complex

Manchester City unveiled plans today for a state-of-the-art new training complex that the club are confident will be unrivalled anywhere in the world.
Planning application for the 80-acre site next to the Etihad Stadium was submitted this morning with the club hoping to get the go-ahead to begin construction of the development by the end of the year.

The complex next to their stadium in east Manchester will take years to be completed and will contain a 7,000-seat mini-stadium, 15 full-size pitches and sleeping accommodation for 72 senior and youth players.
Brian Marwood, the club’s chief football operations officer, said: “This could be the most important investment the club has ever made under its new ownership.

“This is part of a ten-year strategy for long-term sustainable success. Phase one culminated in the club winning the FA Cup and qualifying for the Champions League last season. This signals the beginning of the next phase.
“We know that youth development has to be at the heart of this club. Investment in the transfer market has helped us reach a certain level, to stay there will take investment in player development, welfare and top-class facilities.
“While new signings were making the headlines there were changes behind the scenes even in the early days.”

The development has been planned for three years, during which City sent officials to Arsenal, Barcelona and Ajax, as well as bodies from outside of football including the New York Giants, LA Lakers, New York Knicks and the Australian Institute of Sport to look at their operations.
Nick Smith, the project consultant who made most of the visits to other facilities, said: “We believe ours will become the world’s best training facility.”
Marwood said an overall cost of the development had yet to be clarified. City have already bought most of the land, much of which is polluted by past industries, and are in the process of cleaning it.

The club have also promised to provide 5.5 acres for community use, including a sixth form college, and contribute towards a new public swimming pool. Patrick Vieira, the French former Arsenal, AC Milan and Inter Milan midfielder who is now City’s football development executive, described the plans as “unbelievable”. He said: “For any player to have this facility would be really, really exciting.”

so without Cleverely there is no hope for superstar Anderson?
do they receive a joint salary?
of course. . . . .
for the kind of high tempo football fergie wants his kids to play, anderson needs a mobile partner.
fletcher was not match-fit and he was too immobile for the tippy-tappy football united have been serving since the season began.

and when anderson sat, fletcher didn't even venture going forward to effect the play.
i understand fergie is desperate to give fletcher enough game-time to jog him back to full fitness but it was at the expense of anderson.
let's see how it goes in the coming games!

coogar I first of all said many (check hornys post) but I changed it to some because i do personaly know of a few women who treat their husbands love children very well. They accept that what is done is done and they get on with life as best they can.
i have no doubts about that. majority of the women these days would treat the love children very well.  there's no way the husband would want to be involved in the life of the love-child without getting involved with the ex and there lies the problem. . . . . .

Hot, no doubt rahman is a bad man & has no scruples. What do you expect from a man who misuses his trusted position as a tutor & has sex with his student. In an ideal world, he wouldnt be allowed to teach again and placed on the paedophile register.
rahman's only mistake was impregnating sprinkles years ago. . . . . .to blame him for not communicating with the ex and the love-child is rather harsh and unfair especially now that he's happily married with kids to another woman. the other woman will never be comfortable with rahman communicating/visiting his ex and the love child.

horny4u:
We complicate things when we bring the other woman into it, i have never met her and she did not leave anything in my house, I am a mini lioness, do you want me to tear her apart, plss o this is UK , i donot want wahala jare, and she is not welcome in my home,  grin

I didnot say Madam Feyi should go after crazy Rahman, there are too many obokus in the river abeg not a morally derailed man, father of pickin or not. What i am saying is that the gal his is blood and that must count in his heartless life.
you see?
there's no way rahman would be involved in the life of the love-child without involving feyishara. . . . . .
being involved is going for her pta meetings, checking up on her in school, going to feyi's house to pick the child for outings and stuffs.

do you think rahman's new wife will be comfortable with all that? hell no!
rahman has to call feyishara or send her a text before she can get to the child.

Am not an angel but thats not one of my weaknesses.
your hubby's kid coming to your house to eat is 50% of the problem and i would even say that is still convenient for you.
the question is - would you let the mother of the child come into your house or would you let your husband visit her?

cos when he doesn't visit, the other woman goes to a forum to report and members of the forum would call the husband a bastard.

Strikers aren't let off the hook because they scored one goal and make bad misses all over, especially if you cost £50m - you pay that kind of money so that your miss rate is below that of other lower value strikers. If it was Sturridge that missed those chances I'm sure the fuss would be much less.
except that fernando torres did not tag himself £50m.
nando is not worth £35m but roman was gullible enough to pay £50m for him. none of that amount trickled inside nando's pockets.

you can beat torres with a stick for his £200k/week wages, but the £50m price tag is not his fault.

what would you have rahman do in a situation like this?
showing love and attention to his daughter would eventually lead to problems in his own family. he has to choose one.
there's no balancing act here. the other woman would never be comfortable with rahman going to see the daughter and her mother.

women are too thick to understand this!
insecurities won't let them understand. they believe the past is a past for a reason and for peace to reign, men tend to stand aloof and watch from a distance. in the near future, rahman would be back to be a father to his daughter. but not yet!

Even EPL referees would send them off - see what Bale did to Skrtel on Sunday. . . .Messi vs Huth would be 100 times worse.
that's the strange problem with stoke. the ball is more in the air than on the pitch.
villas-boas couldn't do it at the britannia. kenny dalglish couldn't do it at the britannia. there was a strange stat last season in a match that delap made more attacking throws at the britannia than number of passes. can you beat that? grin grin grin grin

Puskas and Eusebio didn't have close control as good as Messi's though they may have been better in other areas - there will be zero room to tackle without taking the player out so Stoke will cop a ridiculous number of fouls. grin
messi can only function when the opponents give them the room to tiki-taka. teams like real madrid, arsenal, man utd, chelsea are too proud to sacrifice their ethos to park the van. stoke have no such reputation. in the times messi has come against van-parking, he was anonymous. against jose's inter milan - i did not see messi at the san siro or @ nou camp. against stoke, messi will be dribbling himself cos stoke would cede 70% of the pitch to barcelona and just crowd their own box. have you been watching stoke in the europa league? grin

Without writing Stoke off, even they have little or no chance against Messi.
andy gray wants to organize a friendly next summer.
this cold wet britannia theory must be tested. grin

on that pie, not all of it at present.some will still be on the table.

Ashley had been lulled into the safety of mediocrity at villa for too long and i was wrong in my judgement.
However i doubt i was alone.it was amazing hearing not one but two respected pundits describe him over the weekend as the best set piece specialist in the Premiership. With a dead ball he is very good. I am glad that he has raised his tempo and proven me wrong.
cheers!

That Anderson pie will remain on the table for now.
I still believe he has no pace. i wonder how you can decide otherwise in the last 5 league games.
he looks unfit weight wise for a kid in his early 20s who earns a living from football, much more as a midfielder. the fact that he looks trimmer does not negate that fact.I don'tthink he was average on sunday,he had a stinker.
Fletcher might have contributed to this but same can be said for Fletcher.
5 games are too few for me to agree that Ando is a world beater.he has been mostly crap for almost 3 years.
That midfield still needs a superior signing.
like i kept saying. . . .that midfield would walk the league unscathed.
it's in europe i have my fears.

improvement does not necessarily recognises one is shyte at the moment. even at 99% capacity, there's room for improvement. . . .unless you want to tell me 99% output is shyte.

bounce back and looking to improve is technically the same thing. arsenal's current position on the table is an anomaly. not even the greatest arsenal hate could have predicted their current position on the table.

there's time for wenger to improve but like i predicted, those panic-buys wenger made at the death of the transfer window was his greatest undoing. with a better tactical acumen, wenger could have easily assembled a better squad sprinkled with quality english players!

in their first season, they murked arsenal and i remember stoke giving arsenal another baptism of fire in one of the domestic cup competitions.

underestimate stoke at your own peril.

If Messi were to play at the Britannia, Stoke would finish the game with only 4 players - the 3 forwards and the GK. All the other players would've been sent off for crunching tackles on Lionel. grin grin
if messi were to play at the britannia, under the nose of a premier league referee, he would ask to be substituted. european referees are softer.

To be part of her teenage years but he refuses. not verbally. She has never asked me about her father;not once!
Is it fair? Or is there something I can do to  make him act otherwise? I don't want him coming during his old days like I see in d movies d asking her for forgiveness. I will end up feeling cheated
i know it's quite sad that he doesn't ask for his daughter and he's been watching from a distance but that is the only way he can preserve his marriage with his new partner. if he gets too involved with you and your daughter then the other woman at home would start her own way. he cannot serve two masters at the same time and unfortunately, you are the one less favoured.

men are not monsters - women make men monsters.
let's flip the script a bit. assuming you are the new wife and you are aware your husband once had a love child with a woman. how involved would you let him be them? be honest with yourself!!! no woman wants her husband to visit another woman and another child on a regular basis. women's insecurity and their possessive nature are the reasons some men don't look back in this kind of scenario.

i believe a will can be contested if the deceased fails to make provision for spouses and dependent children.
it can be argued the deceased suffered from a mental illness when the will was drafted and failed to include the members of his immediate family in the will. it depends on the size of the amount involved. if it's worth pursuing, i would pursue with the last drop of my blood.

naijababe:
A friend relayed this to me earlier today and I thought I'd share, not an unusual story but quite a surprise that this is still happening.

Tunji started his career in his twenties with a multinational, his only sibling, Tade moved in with him whilst their parents remained in their home town of Saki. When Tunji joined the company, his brother Tade was named as his next of kin on all his official documents since he was his only relative in Lagos at the time.

After having worked for 10yrs, Tunji married Sade and the union was blessed with 3 children. Tunji not only had a great partner in his wife Sade, but Sade and Tade also got along very well; Tade also got married and moved of his brother's house and the brothers and their wives not only remained close but very good friends to the ultimate joy of their parents.

Tunji had an accident that took his life 4 months ago, unfortunately for his wife and children, his brother was still named as his next of kin. Either by omission or carelessness on his part, he had not made the necessary changes before he died. As Tunji worked for the multinational till his death, his wife took comfort in the benefits that would be paid to her to take care of her children.

Sade duly showed up at the HR office to discuss her deceased husband's benefits after the stipulated mourning period only to her shock to find out that his brother-in-law was named as the beneficiary, she knew her husband couldn't have done this deliberately, it was an omission on his part. She was not particularly worried as she was sure that her brother-in-law Tade would do right by her and her kids.

When Tade was informed, he assured her that he'd comply with the formality of getting the benefits and return all to Sade immediately. Tade got the money and refused to hand over a penny to Sade to the consternation of not only her but her sister-in-law (Tade's wife) and now very aged mother-in-law. Tade had decided to call everybody's bluff (he won't listen to his wife or mother to hand over the money). Unfortunately, Sade's attempt to seek legal redress remains unsuccessful because her late husband not only didn't leave a will but actually named his brother as his next of kin.

Failing in all attempt to make Tade see reason, she has decided to move on with her life and leave Tade to God's judgement.

Sounds like one of those Nkan be stories but let's not miss the key learning here. Take care of your affairs.
easy peasy lemon squeezy.

even if the deceased named his brother as the next of kin, the issue can be contested in court.
the deceased was survived by a wife and children - the court must know someone must take care of the deceased's family.
this is no issue at all with a good lawyer. . . . . . .but i am certain the issue would be very tedious in a chaotic state like nigeria.

now, these are young semi-educated players and they sometimes get carried away or have tricky questions posed at them. . . . if there are translations involved - it gets even worse.
Family › Re: Is My Child A Bastard? by coogar: 9:27pm On Sep 19, 2011

Dear Nairalanders,
My name is Feyishayo and here's my story.
I had a child 15 years ago for a man 14 years older than me. At my age(32) now have to to conclude that I was abused by this man . Had just finished my secondary education and when I met him and he was my tutor for the upcoming jamb exam. I was not promiscuous( for the judges). I was just a teenager. He de flowered me and though no promises were made I got pregnant. My father insisted I keep the pregnancy even when my mother and elder family members interfered and insisted on an abortion my father refused. I had my baby . The only right thing the concerned man( Rahman) did was acknowledge that the pregnancy is his . He got married to someone else a year after that and has 3 kids with her now. We speak few times a year only via mobile. His not part of my daughter's life . He has never spent a kobo on her , not seen her since she was 4. He lives abroad with his wife. I live abroad myself though in different countries. Everyday I think as though my child is an illegitimate child(she's his first) a bastard! My family and friends tell me otherwise but deep now I feel someone is just not willing to tell me the truth . I spoke with a friend a few months back and we discussed the matter and he was the only person with enough balls to tell me
'Rahman will never be part of your daughter's life. He has his own family and bitter as that might sound you and your daughter aint part of that family',
Nairalanders, I work hard to give my daughter the best education there is. She attends a boarding school in europe and she lacks nothing aside from not knowing her father or father's family. Will I be wrong tomorrow if he ever comes back to want to be part of her life and I refuse? Will I be judged for refusing him access to her? I don't ask him for anything than to be part of her life.

The only fabrication in this post is the names.
the child will demand to know her father one day whether you like it or not.
