I never said quatrains are not stanzas of 4 lines.. What I meant was that in text rap battling, it doesn't have to be 4 lines . you can make it whatever you want.. rappers make the rules, the rules don't make the rapper

4 line stanza - quatrain
5 line stanza - quintain, quintet or cinquain
6 line stanza - sestina, sextain, sestine

textcees can choose anyone they prefer. may be the rules should start
saying 12 stanzas instead of 12 quatrains.

The ability to shorten your words into four lines and still drop remarkable punchlines is what makes you a brilliant textcee or emcee.
The emcee/textcees I know can drop 3 punchlines in 3 lines. It depends on how skilled and intelligent you are. If you need 6 lines to drop just two punchlines and show your "rhyming skills," then indeed, you still have a long way to go.
Time to write is quite understandable though, but why stress it? Why don't you just drop one punch in a quatrain and give your readers a smooth written?

what a textcee does with his quatrains is entirely left to him.
there were multiple punchlines inside some of darkrebel's quatrains against liricyst.
even professional battle rappers often drop 13 lines before hitting the punch. it's all
about schemes, preference and the style of writing. battle rap has evolved....if ibime
does not want to read 10 lines before the final punch, he should quit battle rap entirely.
