DBR: Congrats to Ibime!!

I have an issue with the fact that U3 is out so early tho.
This is the kinda match up one wuld xpect to see in semi/finals. .
Is there a way to remedy this?
Just a whimsical thot'. .

Afam4eva: Outlawed like how? I can't remember it being in any constitution. It's a matter of choice if one wants to associate with an OSu. There are white people who are not fond and won't marry a black person. There are catholics who hate Christians of other faiths and vice-versa. There are Muslims who detest Christians and vice-versa. Discrimination in any form has come to stay and isn't going anywhere for a very long time. Let's stop pretending like the OSU caste system is the only form of discrimination. Like i said, i've never met an Osu in my life knowingly cos the whole ish is minuscle. It's not as pronounced as you lots think.
outlawed as in - anyone found guilty of discriminating against osu should have the book thrown at him. people here have said one could lose a chieftaincy role, a political appointment just because he's osu - that's discrimination & it shouldn't exist in our world.

freakybaby: An Anambra man can't marry a girl dats not from anambra state,I wonder why??..He can have a relationship with girls from other tribes, but when it comes 2 marriage,he'll go and search for his anambra girl....But guys from other states like imo, abia, enugu, etc can marry girls from other tribes...
bloody hell!!!!
anambra men also discriminate? why would anambra men ignore other igbo girls as brides & marry within their state? anambra girls should be the least preferable in my own opinion. grin

cos that option would be a no brainer, you numbskull. did you skip logic classes in school? the question was only testing if you would compromise on your igbotic love & you still failed to see the point.

If she likes sef make she marry Oyibo,as long as they are happy,I will be happy but if you asked my preference for her, definitely Igbo

babyosisi: Glad you didn't deny anything in the post and your folks agree
I just laid out the differences in our culture, the reason why Igbos are not very accepting of Yoruba spouses
The cultural differences are plenty
there's no point denying anything - these beliefs have been with you now for about 40+ years, what would my denial do? change you all of a sudden to see things from a different perspective? it won't worth my while.

none of the things you have said is remotely true. infidelity, promiscuity, marital affair, etc has no tribal code. no tribe does it more than the others - the crazy thing is you are going to poison the minds of your kids with the same myths that one tribe woos women better & one tribe hides their mistresses better.

the mind boggles..... shocked

look at this halfwit talking nonsense - what do you know about rhymes & 16s? the biggest cat here is a witless apprentice.

anuofia!!!

DBR: LMAO!! I've had this argument too many time. Ps riddle me this, When u read TEXT,do you not hear "sounds" in your head?
In fact, whether you are reading the words or hearing them,
the process of identifying whether a word rhymes with another is through sound cognition. Mostly the final judgement is not by textual analysis in nature but by its auditory experience.
Great writers
there's a difference between audio & text battles. a good writer knows to avoid such words that rhymes when pronounced but looks different when written down. ibime shouldn't be getting caught in such nursery stuff.

Na u wan skool me? bwahahah!! Joker!
Get educated with ma response to Whiz .
Btw, I didn't say Ibime did better in rhyme. . it's a Close fight. .check ma score, it's like they both got Tuxedo, cos i gave them Both TIE!
grin

oNe
even ibime himself should slap you for voting parity in the rhyme department. U3 outrhymed ibime with polysyllabic schemes. yes, they had fillers but that's what you get when you lay emphasis on syllabic rhyming.

this is why ibime had more punchlines cos ibime concentrated more on punchlines & haymakers. there's no way you should give punches to ibime & then tie them in rhymes. that decision is fraudulent. ibime got the punches & U3 decisively got the rhymes.

babyosisi: Truth be told,a Yoruba men are very romantic
If an igbo man and Yoruba man were chasing an Igbo girl, the Yoruba man will most likely sweep her off her feet
He will spoil her with money,Igbo men are more stingy ( frugal) but Yoruba man will give his whole profit to woo the woman
They are good boyfriend material but that is where it ends
When marriage time comes, the girl had better face east for a more meaningful union
of course, the average yoruba man is more civilised & his persuasive game is more advanced than his igbo counterpart.

babyosisi: Bianca Ojukwu again
The object of Yoruba obsession,I hear you
.

hahahaha - she's supposed to be the first lady of biafra. how did things go awry for her especially cheating before her hubby died?

On this forum alone how many stories of Yoruba actresses having babies out of wedlock have we read?
How many of a woman trying to pin a bobo to her pregnancy
How many of doubtful paternity
How many of children emerging in their tens after the death of a man
You don't have to search deep
That scares Igbos
I am not saying such things are unheard of in Igboland but it is heavily frowned at
A child born out of wedlock on Igboland belongs to the woman's family
It is a huge shame
That is why illegitimate belle is hidden
But Yorubas flaunt it and announce it and throw parties to celebrate the arrival of the baby sired by a married man
A arrived Yoruba woman will wear asho ebi to the naming ceremony if her husban's mistress's baby
That is an alien culture to us
That is one of the reasons our people are fearful of our girl's marrying Yoruba men
Marriage means something different between the two groups
perhaps this could be because yorubas adopted the western civilisation much more than the igbos. marriage is not slavery in the west. yorubas are doing whatever liberates them like you would find in other western countries.

In Yorubaland a mistress with a baby automatically elevates to the status of wifehood Not so in Igboland
A mistress is hidden and the man does all he can to make sure no baby arrives ,because he doesn't want to shame his family
That is a huge cultural difference and many of our women have married Yoruba men who ended up with babies all around time because it is their culture.his dad and uncles did it freely. It is not our accepted tradition
it's the same everywhere - whether it's accepted or not is a different thing entirely. which yoruba family deliberately advises their daughter to get impregnated premaritally - your assertion is bordering on hyperbole, abeg.

the picture you have painted of your men is even embarrassing. that it's coming out of a woman is degrading. so mistresses are hidden? no wonder baby farms are littered everywhere in the east - so that's something to gloat about publicly? wow!!!!

osisi, you are doing your people a disservice with the things you are saying here. you are directly telling us your men are brutish chauvinistic pigs who would go at any length to hide their mistresses & their love-child.

babyosisi: Coogar why are you getting upset
Igbo men prefer to marry Igbo women
That is just a fact
Meanwhile there are many Yoruba men that swear that they will not marry Yoruba women
There are those that of dream of marrying Igbo women
If my memory serves me right aren't you one of the Yoruba guys that told us here that you don't don't like Yoruba women
There has been several with those confessions

But like I said,if you have money,we can manage you
why should i get upset of their backward reasoning? it's more like disappointment than anger. i have had plenty of babes cutting across all tribes & races & i can tell you each of them is a product of her environment.

an igbo chic raised in lagos would have the same character as a yoruba chic raised in lagos. promiscuity has no tribal code. bianca ojukwu is an igbo woman & she has several promiscuity charges hanging over her head.

Austinmoor: My friend have not said no, scared of making situation worse for her. Is the idea of introducing his ex to his family (and keep the relationship clean) as away of solving this problem ok, considering the fact that women could be jealous. Which other ways can he get himself out of this debacle without hurting the woman. She vehemently promised not to bother his family.
if she gets pregnant, she would bother his family. at least the love-child would demand to see his dad & that's bothersome.

if your friend starts screwing this woman, she might bother him too. when emotions, passion and love get into the equation, women tend to act crazy. she would forget all her vows & call your friend @ 1 am.

tell your friend to arrange a guy for her. that's the only solution. however, if your friend wishes to fully exercise his rights as a true african male then he can go ahead & sow his wild oats. i support him fully on that - even martin luther king had a side-chick.

Even by stereotypes, ur question should be the other way round.

onecola: when it comes to marriage Igbos want to ensure they marry to people they can understand. marriage within ones town of origin was prevalent then due to there was little urban migration, my father and his 2 brothers all married from my community no even from other towns in the same local government, so is their sisters who all got married to people of same town. In contrast both my maternal and paternal grand mothers are not from my town though nearby town, the eldest of my maternal mother's brother married a fulani woman who if she is still around will be 90+old. The trend is quite changing as none of my immediate sibling is married from local govts that is close to my town.
this reeks of inbreeding.

Austinmoor: Please kindly help advice a friend of mine who is presently under pressure to go into an affair with his ex. My friend is happily married but somehow got connected to his ex(first love of the ex), who has been widowed for about 5 yrs now.The fire was rekindled when my friend showed some niceties to her. My friend is confused because the ex said she has never been happy since her parent disallowed her from marrying him and now that she is free she has vowed to be happy again with him. Though she promised not to disturb his family. My friend said she promised to take care of herself (she is employed) and the consequences of the action even if it results into having baby. What should my friend as she claim she has not had any relationship since the death of her husband and my friend is the only person that can bring joy into her life again.
making her happy doesn't have to involve a relationship or marital affair with her. your friend should introduce her to the wife. support her morally, spiritually & perhaps financially & give her a listening ear. widows tend to be lonely - they often need a shoulder to cry on.

All these guys who've patronized prosstiitutes, are they also going to tell us, that while slapping on the rubber, they say, "Oh, by the way, I forgot to ask, are you Osu?"

Or is anybody going to tell me he'd ask this girl if she was Osu before tearing her to pieces from the back?

babyosisi: There is something in an Igbo man that makes him adore Igbo women
Three times I had tried to matchmake some folks
The moment I mentioned the woman was Yoruba, without even seeing a picture, the men lost interest including a girl whose mom was Igbo and father Yoruba.
One of the guys I was matchmaking with my school daughter,a physician ,his mother was on the background asking " Juo ya ma o nwere Onye Igbo doctor o ma"
( ask her if she knows an Igbo female doctor )
Igbo men prefer Igbo women no doubt and have broken many hearts and when they venture out they prefer to look towards Calabar side or Rivers and Igbo/ Igboid parts of Delta. We are similar in many ways.
Igbos are family oriented and prefer cultures where the family unit in strong
Yorubas are very polygamous and promiscuous and have kids out of wedlock from complicated backgrounds so an Igbo man is fearful that a woman from such a background will not be good enough to raise a lasting family with.
if all you said is true, then western education didn't achieve much in eastern nigeria. what a pity!!!!!
