elampiro: I am not out for any argument, but if you go pages upon pages back, you will see where I posted the chart in an argument between you and I. Baines came top ahead of people like Mata, Hazard, and the rest.show us where you told us baines was the most creative player in the premier league last season before opta stats noticed this secret of yours..... |
elampiro: Opta should not help us define the match we all saw together and were running commentary together on the forum. It shouldn't be 'alpha and omega' but it should just be a guide. Opta stat tempted some people last two week to believe Young was our best midfielder. Last year I said Baines was the most creative player in the EPL.why need opta then? we should just listen to elampirostats that told us messi got his left foot clipped by hargreaves or elampirostats that saw keane playing against bayern in the final @ nou camp! topic of discussion was the number of long passes rooney made in a match. you jumped into the argument without tact & nous to tell us rooney made a long pass. how do you know what opta defines as a long pass? sometimes, it's better you just shut up & let people that know discuss football. show us where you told us baines was the most creative player last year. how did you spot baines was the most creative and opta did not? do you run your own stats company that can see things opta can never see? anyways, you lie for a living - i won't be surprised if you cannot find any evidence to support this claim as usual. |
elampiro: Coogar, this is shocking!!! I thought I wont be involve in any argument today, but it looks like you didn't watch this match. You probably were monitory it via stats, web commentary, etc.sometimes i think you just type absent common sense. the argument was focused on the number of long passes rooney made, not the number of perfect passes. Rooney's pass to RVP was long and perfect. It will end up being one of the best pass of the season. To me it looks better than what Rooney gave RVP last season which he used to score goal of the season. All the passes that threatened today were made by Rooney. Let's be sincere in our post match analysis.rooney's pass to RVP does not qualify as a long pass according to opta. yes, it was accurate and it was perfect but it's not a long ball. it's reminiscent of the villa game RVP scored from last season but that was way longer, rooney made that pass from united's half of the pitch. https://i.minus.com/iM39P3A0tEJxS.gif the one of yesterday was made deep inside palace's half of the pitch. the accuracy of the pass is not what is being disputed but the distance travelled by the ball...... |
Ibime: David Luiz is a schoolboy but I heard "Mr Penalty" Koscielny was at it again today.luiz wasn't the only clueless defender in that box. all the defenders looked like schoolboys in the buildup to that goal. https://i.minus.com/ibkvxCCstOXMco.gif as you can see, it was actually terry that left naismith. terry must have seen luiz had moved forward to press the man on the ball. terry ran towards naismith, then got attracted to the ball & left naismith free again. redknapp is talking nonsense dropping the bollock on luiz. terry is equally culpable. |
StarBoard: I tend to agree.he would win the league this season... chelsea are a world class striker away from challenging. city are still slumbering. arsenal are also a world class striker away from competing - they lost giroud today. moyes has a big chance if he can keep his players happy. |
every team would lose games this season - however, it's sad for the teams that have spent £100m on players and yet lost to inferior teams. moyes escaped a baptism of fire for not spending so much but pellegrini, villas-boas and mourinho must explain how their millions got them losing in the first 4 games in the premier league. |
nateevs: I just hope he doesn't say anything horrible.i was impressed by etoo.... everything he did today was top drawer. i never knew he still had this much verve in him. gareth barry prevented chelsea from winning today. that block on etoo should be a TV advert for skysports. chamotex: See them trying to copy my movesdebosky(the short boy) impressed the most with his moves in that clip. dayokanu was just acting like a mallam. ![]() |
afrodoc: I have said it several times that our wing play has been poor and Young has been one of the primary culprits. all those guys have been crossing to about the same group of people why is it that his ratio is so distinctly poor?i hope you are aware corner kicks and crossed freekicks are part of the stats. if skrtel bullies vidic to a cross then it's an accurate cross, it doesn't matter if the cross was made by beckham or maradona. it's like an assist stat. a chance must be scored before the passer gets an assist. a winger who has made one accurate cross out of 20 needs to check himself.ashley young is one of the best crossers in this league. even when we bought him, we benefitted from plenty of his crosses. his freekick got smalling the first goal @ wembley against city. |
nitrogen: 11 or 10, he can always switch with rooney.this is the formation that should play against man city. if rooney is still feeling rusty, he should stay with his son. kagawa orchestrating things from the edge of the box would be needed. fellaini & carrick must sit. they should let the four forward players and 2 of the wing backs provide the needed support. we have fellaini now, kagawa's work rate defensively should reduce. afrodoc: then Ashley Young must be specially unlucky cos this season he has made 20 crosses and only ONE was accurate!let's just say we have been shyte at making crosses count. this is why we need to know what we are doing. if we want wing-play with wingers pouring crosses into the net, then one of hernandez & welbeck has to play. if we want intricate play in & around the edge of the box then kagawa/RVP/rooney must play. i have looked at young's crosses graphically, our strikers have more than enough time to read the flight of the ball and connect with the crosses. rooney used to stand at the far post for the eventuality of everyone missing the ball & coming to him but fatso has been lazy lately.
|
jackbauersballs: Old Red Nose has gone but his legacy remains.but when you escaped penalty incidents at old trafford and @ stamford bridge against villa, you did not think roman was PDPing.... take off your blue-tinted sunglasses. ![]() |
afrodoc: the long pass over the top that RVP wasted by blasting against the crossbar comes to mind.not his fault that RVP left his shooting boots in the dressing roomit's not long enough for opta to count as a long pass. also since the stats of RVP and Young are obviously worse than Rooney's why are you on Rooney's case and letting those two of the hook.how are they worse than rooney? rooney had a longer time to improve his performance against a tiring palace side that went a man down since the first half. if rooney was taken off at the time young went off, your tune would be different. Ashley Young 8 crosses and NONE was accurate.a winger!a beautiful cross can be floated into a box and if no player connects it, it would be deemed inaccurate. if a fluked cross gets floated and a striker manages to connect with it, it's an accurate cross. in a nutshell, what makes a cross accurate depends on the recipient. the crosser does not know if his cross would be met by an opposing defender or his teammate. they just cross & hope for the best. |
chaircover: Efe this is my dept ooooooowhat's ET? extra-terrestial? |
afrodoc: Rooney had 5 accurate long balls out of 6, 1 accurate through pass out of 1, 2 accurate crosses out 8( RVP had 0 out of 7 and your Ashley Young had 0 out of 8 ..a winger o SMH).4 key-passes from set plays(i won't buy such stats). then opta said rooney had 2 long balls out of 3. nearly all of them weren't threatening. he had 90 mins on the pitch and long aimless passes is what he had to show for it. which of rooney's long pass threatened the opponent from the graphics? none!!!

dopeJemi: coogar don't even go der, Rooney wasn't even supposed 2 pLay 2day, though he didn't impress dat much buh he was by far better dan young and valenciaif he's not supposed to play today why was he in the team? surely, hernandez could have started with van persie floating in the hole. it beats me when english media make ready made excuses for rooney. play rooney too much then he's fatigued, laboured & overplayed. use rooney scantily, then he's rusty, 0% match-fitness or he needs more time to get back into the team. |
afrodoc: Coogar loves Young and hates Rooney EODit's better than rooney kicking the air with the keeper to beat. StarBoard: Young has only a handful of decent games for United. This one wasn't one of them. The assist was courtesy if a refereeing error, not as if he had been threatening it prior to that incident.young has made telling contributions for us in big games. man city, chelsea, arsenal & tottenham are some of the teams that have felt young's wrath. he wins penalties for the team like no other. he's a very tricky customer. time to go watch mesut ozil..... |
chamotex: Overall, disappointing performance.winning is the name of the game, 3 points are very vital. hopefully, liverpool would get walloped on monday. dopeJemi: coogar, with what I'm seeing here, I don't think he needs 2 be loaned, he just needs more pLaying time n he shouLd get it, I think he shouLd be used ahead of young abegthe only reason he was even named on the bench today is because of the quality of the opposition. with kagawa & nani ready, janujaz won't smell the travelling squad. loaning him out would benefit everyone. elampiro: Coogar be civil in your criticism. Rooney wasn't near his normal performance today but he was not alone in that league. You should also understand that he is match rusty and lacks fitness.he's rusty & lacks match fitness? how come we don't see these excuses for the other players? rooney only missed the game against liverpool, he's played in every other league game - where's the rustiness? |
Purist: Loan moves are often overrated. That boy IS READY!!!but would he play big games for man utd though? i doubt it. he has a better chance of playing against big teams on loan. StarBoard: You got a point sha.rooney's wages = the wages of sturridge + hernandez + giroud. |
dopeJemi: januzaj is miLes ahead of Young and valencia abeg, wetin??initial graggs..... he's not ready yet - he should be sent on loan to west brom or arsenal. afrodoc: he made the job easier no doubt but inadvertently so.i am looking medium to long term.young is a decent winger for us. on pecking order, he's only second to nani. when something happens by fluke rather than by design what are the chances of it happening again?it was his brilliant run that got ivanovic sent off in stamford bridge last season. how's young a fluke? P.S januzaj has been MUCH MORE impressive than young in just 20 minutes of playeasy to say that playing against a knackered 10 men of palace. the fatigue level after the player got sent off kept rising with each minute. you cannot compare with when young was on the pitch in the first half. |
StarBoard: I love how Rooney shuts up coogar.yes, you would love it. players who get paid £1m per month score 40+ goals per season. |
afrodoc: the best pass was rooney's pass to RVP that RVP slammed against the cross bar.rooney got a goal finally! what a relief - i was beginning to divide £250,000 per number of minutes without a goal. ![]() young made the match easier for us. he got a man sent off smartly. we got a goal from the incident. young then produced a masterclass performance in the 2nd half. r231: Rooney just told Coogar to shush afrodoc: TAKE THAT COOGAR!!!!!for £1m per month, he should be doing better. ![]() |
afrodoc: even during silvestre's shittiest performances there would be a good cross field pass and even djemba djemba made isolated great tackles while stinking up the placehahahaha - ashley young got shots on target, got an assist, made the best pass of the game and yet he's shyte?? rooney is such a twät! honestly, we should be talking of getting this massive waste of flesh out of the club. can mourinho just get this dude out of OT? |
afrodoc: dont twist my words when i never leave!hahaha - that was the pass of the game so far. the game-changer! if rooney wasn't such an idiöt, that should have easily been a second goal. StarBoard: Thank goodness that fraud is off.you have hated young since his signing, so i cannot even say anything to you. young has always been productive. he's never had a poor game since his signing. he gives you a consistent 6/10 performance always. |
afrodoc: good pass from young, but still want him out though.he is one more dive or silly tackle away from a redso you agree he's performed well but you want him out cos he's on a yellow? that's a good one. |
what a pass from young to valencia....valencia cuts back & mumu rooney kicks the air. kagawa would be hitting the target from there. |
r231: With all due respect sir.....I DISAGREEwe shall revisit that after the game. he has outpasssed carrick all day with a better accuracy to boot! |
StarBoard: And got stupidly booked for diving, anderson has been better than carrick in this game. booking ashley young earlier was quote harsh, that wasn't a dive. besides, if the ref didn't send the defender off, young would have been sent off for a second yellow for diving at OT. |
dademola: young!! young!! young!! nobody is saying anything on hw ineffective valencia has been...thanks for this..... young gets pilloried even after getting an assist and giving us a numerical advantage in this game. young has 2/2 tackles, valencia has 0/0. young has 1 interception, valencia has 2. young has one assist, valencia has zero. however, ninjas want young crucified!!! |
afrodoc: he is better than a 40yr old and a pair of strikers on the left flank. now that is so surprising!yes, he's better than them..... perhaps, it might augur well for us to name the strongest possible team instead of playing makeshifts in the attack. none of giggs, rooney or welbeck is as fast on the ground as ashley young. |
afrodoc: he has been playing trash.he cant depend on winning penalties every matchhe's got an assist - job done! we now play against 10 men and it should be easier for us from here. young is still better than giggs, welbeck or rooney on the left flank.
Doesn't change the fact he's been awful all match.
did he throw himself on the floor or he was tackled in the box? if the defender thought young was crap, he should have just let him continue his run and let him have a free shot on target. |
i like how young shuts the mouths of you guys. he's won a penalty, managed to get his marker sent off. |
chamotex: Kagawa out due to illnesskagawa has flu.... even if he isn't sick, it is too soon for him as he would be jetlagged. let's destroy crystal palace sharpish & cop 3 points. |
