united have the laziest players in the premier league. they basically leave everything to the defence thinking vidic would always be there or de gea would pull a magical save.

we don't defend until the ball crosses into our half of the pitch. in most of the other teams, pedro of barca would run the centre-halves down and force them to punt it long and ultimately disrupts the transition. at united, rooney and others turn their backs and allow the opponents to transit the ball into our half without any pressing.

elampiro: I don't think that era is truly gone. It is just that some kind of players are hard to find. Edgar Davis, Makalele, Thompson Oliha, etc. Kean was also tough and clever, so he had bit of the characteristics. Diara is a bit of a destroyer but he is limited once he gained the ball. Also Tiote.
those type of players tend to have a bad reputation with match officials and they are red card magnets. interception is better than tackling. matter of fact, if every player in the team presses like barca did under guardiola, you don't even need 4 defenders at the back.

elampiro: There is an area which is even not being addressed at all. A DM who can destroy and also can pass well. Jones can destroy but he doesn't use the ball whell after he has won it. In the early years I thought Anderson will metamorphosed into a destroyer and distributor like Song. But instead his best position now is playing in front of three man midfield, and that's where it looks like Fabregas will play should he come. We need to get one good tackler who will provide an option for Carrick or Cleverly or even displace one of them.
song is useless as a destroyer. the era of having a destroyer is well and truly gone. we just need 2 good central midfielders that can defend, pass and maraud forward. none of keane/scholes was a destroyer. they take turns to damage the opposition at will.

the video below exposes what the modern feminism epitomises. there was a public forum of the male victims of domestic violence. this meeting was organised to help rehabilitate these men and restore their self confidence after what they suffered from their abusive partners.

feminists gathered themselves in numbers to disrupt the meeting. in their idealism, men can never be victims of domestic violence. imagine what the outrage would be if men gang up to disrupt meetings organised for female victims of domestic abuse.

Family › Re: Rise Of The Feminist Wedding by coogar:
Why I loathe feminism... and believe it will ultimately destroy the family
ERIN PIZZEY set up the world's first refuge for battered women in 1971 - and went on to establish an international movement for victims of domestic violence. But what she has never made public before is that her own childhood was scarred by the shocking cruelty of both her parents.

Indeed, my mother's explosive temper and abusive behaviour shaped the person I later became like no other event in my life. Thirty years later, when feminism exploded onto the scene, I was often mistaken for a supporter of the movement. But I have never been a feminist, because, having experienced my mother's violence, I always knew that women can be as vicious and irresponsible as men.

Indeed, I would go so far as to say that the movement, which proclaimed that all men are potential räpists and batterers, was based on a lie that, if allowed to flourish, would result in the complete destruction of family life.
From the very beginning, I waged war against my mother and quickly learned to disassociate myself from the pain of her beatings.

Her words, however, stayed with me all my life. 'You are lazy, useless, and ugly,' she would scream. 'You look like your father's side of the family - Irish trash.'

They were vicious words that I have heard repeated over and over by mothers everywhere. Indeed, when I later opened my refuge for battered women, 62 of the first 100 to come through the door were as abusive as the men they had left.

Many years later, when feminists started demonising all fathers, these stark images continually reminded me of the truth - that domestic violence is not a gender issue.

Feminism, I realised, was a lie. Women and men are both capable of extraordinary cruelty. Indeed, the only thing a child really needs - two biological parents under one roof - was being undermined by the very ideology which claimed to speak up for women's rights.

This country is now on the brink of serious moral collapse. We must stop demonising men and start healing the rift that feminism has created between men and women.

Harriet Harman's insidious and manipulative philosophy that women are always victims and men always oppressors can only continue this unspeakable cycle of violence. And it's our children who will suffer.

CNN80: Maybe there is a difference now. But that does not negate the positive contribution that feminism has brought to this world. The issue that I have with your posts is that once you see any post that means a woman is standing up for herself, you enter attack mode. You never consider the positive aspects of the situation, you just look at the negative. And then you end up exchanging insults with anyone who disagrees with you. That makes it hard for me to want to see the points you are trying to put across. It's very discouraging.
For example, women retaining their maiden names. It's a choice. It doesn't negate the fact you are married. What is the big deal? As long as the couple are in agreement, why, oh why, are you tearing your hair out on their behalf? Live and let live.
I can't imagine being a housewife, not in a million years. But there are woman that find fulfilment in being stay at home moms. As long as they made the choice for themselves, who am I to denigrate that choice just because it's not one I can make?
that positive contribution stopped in the 60s - there's hardly any man on the planet that would not praise the feminist cause that fought for equality - but what we have now is no longer fighting for equality, it's fighting for inequality.

the definition of feminism is in 2 parts....

•the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of the sexes

•organized activity on behalf of women's rights and interests

i am very comfortable with the definition of the first part which you defined earlier but there's a bit of contradiction in the second. it's easy to argue women's rights and interest are not going to necessarily coincide with men's rights and interests thus claiming equality is quite absurd!

this serious contradiction at the core of feminism has its own ambiguity because fighting for the rights of one side does not necessarily entail fighting for things that bring equality to both sides. if a husband and a wife have one car, modern feminists will not argue for the 2 to drive the car at the same time. the fight is for the interest of women which then means the fight would be for the woman to drive and the husband to find an alternative.

is that equality?
Family › Re: Rise Of The Feminist Wedding by coogar: 2:26pm On Jul 28, 2013
CNN80: Marriage is a covenant instituted by God. What is with all these weird definitions of feminism? According to Wikipedia "Feminism is a collection of movements and ideologies aimed at defining, establishing, and defending equal political, economic, and social rights for women. This includes seeking to establish equal opportunities for women in education and employment. A feminist advocates or supports the rights and equality of women."
i would normally not call you out on this but someone as educated as you should know there's a stark contrast between the first wave of feminism and the "modern" feminism.

the definition you copied and pasted above was the principle of the pioneers of feminism. may God bless them, they fought for a cause and they won the war as far back as the early 60s. they wanted equality and they got what they wanted.

the 21st century feminists do not want equality - they want to reduce men to mere doormats. i am assuming you are well-versed on the subject matter unlike the army of lunatics who just join a bandwagon of what they clearly cannot comprehend. even feminists like erin pizzey and camille paglia are cringing and disturbed at the principles the modern feminism is teaching.

modern feminism is poison and it threatens to further worsen the relationship that exists between men and women. those who want equality don't really want modern feminism and those who want modern feminism don't really want equality. i hope we can have a proper debate on the subject matter devoid of insults and negative energy if you are up for it. i have a tonne of information to share!

Your insatiable hunt for stats has now reduced you to a jester who goes about brandishing bogus stats generated by idiotic Cule wankërs. Shame.
So much is wrong with this useless table of yours that dissecting it would shoot this thread to its 1000th page!
you always tend to display the intelligence of a ewe....there's nothing wrong with the statistics except that it isn't the updated stats. stats was definitely compiled before the 12/13 season ended and it excluded the last 2 games petr cech played in.

Cech recorded 14 cleansheets in the league last season, but your Catalan friends are crediting him with 13 grin The save % ratio is also flawed. They have stats (wrong stats of course cheesy) for all the years De Gea has been in England, but they only have for 4 of Cech's almost a decade stay, less than half. Why the inconsistencies in the years covered for each goalie?
like i have said, the stats was compiled before 12/13 season ended. cech played in 36 league games, the stats had 32. cech's record would even be poorer if we compute the updated stats as he only managed 1 clean sheet in the remaining 4 games.

The smart thing would have been to juxtapose their stats for last season only, or do the average of the stats over the years of their stays.
Stop peddling falsehood!
so an incomplete statistics is falsehood in your village? i would be back with the updated goalkeeper stats that put cech into the bin. gimme a moment.....

99cent: well then u should have used the correct english grammar then. saying that "they felt like cheap commodity" suggests that they already felt that way. which is why I was correcting you. As feminists, they can make decisions not to feel cheapened. Even if it means refusing to be walked down the aisle by an abusive or absent father.
they "felt" the idea of being walked by a dad cheapens them as some old commodity being given away to another man. that's the correct english! you are too mentally-shallow to correct me how to put words together intelligently!!

making stuff up out of ur azz again aren't we? wink
post the link from the article where u found this. will you?
where did "they told her" this?
she simply regurgitated what the brides told her. elki said "the idea connoted the brides were cheap commodities" regardless of which man was walking them down the aisle. you are blaming it on abusive/absent dads but if your claim was true then they could have easily asked someone else to represent their abusive/absent dad just for the occasion!

and besides, even if what u are saying aren't lies (they are lies but let's say they weren't) why do u have such a huge problem with brides who do not want to be "walked by any man"? she has a right to decide that choice for herself. is is not marrying u and the man she is marrying ain't complaining. so what's d big deal? stop carrying other people's problems on your head.
i don't have a problem with any bride who chose to be walked by a silver back ape or a giraffe......all i am saying is why marry at all if we are going to modify what makes marriage marriage?

you said you might not take your hubby's name cos it's sexist. however, if you keep your surname(father's name), it still makes no difference cos the same sexism applies. even if you are so radical and you chose your mother's maiden name, i am sure that name too must have been her father's name which is still sexism.

so can you now see why i said you and feminists of your ilk are hopelessly deluded?

99cent: the article does not state this.
and besides, how can they feel like cheap commodity if they have already refused to do things that makes them feel like "cheap commodity"? which is exactly what feminism is all about.
your thought-process must be really slow. these 200 women surveyed are brides-to-be. they are not married yet. obviously, some of them told elki parmar they do not want to be walked by their dads. she must have asked them why not? and they told her the idea of being walked by any man(dad, brother, son, uncle, whichever male) makes them look like a commodity being given away cheaply.
