Afam4eva: I have benefited myself in NIgeria. I didn't need to sell my TV and run to london as a refugee to take up a job as a royal maid.
buhahahahahaha....

tell me one thing you have achieved in nigeria. i have more dignity for a beggar on kano street than a fake-aśś twit like yourself pretending to know everything happening in the UK.

it's almost 7pm. won't you go to MMA today to see more passengers arriving from gatwick? don't miss out because you are trying to save face on NL.

Use d formula u used for de gea and cech for all d other keepers ON THIS list.its obvious d better keepers hv lower minutes per clean sheat.minutes per goal conceded(van der saar's stat u just used) is different from minutes per clean sheet.pure logic cheesy
you are just tying yourself up in tortuous knots....i am hungry, i cannot argue this back and forth any longer. all i can say is de gea's 11 clean sheets in 28 games is better than cech's 14 clean sheets in 36 games

Afam4eva: See who's calling a Nigerian in Nigeria a slave. Look into the mirror man and you will see a reflection of someone who worship the ground that the queen walks on.
look at this tool.....

prisoners in the UK live a better life than you do, let alone someone like me living the boss life. the prisoner eats 3 square meals, 24/7 power, portable water, peace of mind, etc.

afam, you are worse than a slave in nigeria.
tell me one benefit you get from your government. they don't even care if you are living or dead. you are part of the statistics that don't matter to them. so you look at that your frosty mirror and ask who the slave is in reality??

mention one benefit, the nigerian crude oil has given you?
It's your prerogative to pick which news stories to believe or not to, but in this case it's not because the reporter did not speak to the police - the article says he did and the officer's comments are reported.
nah, this is lazy journalism.....the reporter did an awful job with the headline. if you are going to come up with such headline to drive traffic, then do a thorough investigative journalism and provide quotes....

As to the highlighted, there is nothing anyone can do about that. It happens in all societies. Are you saying that if the reporter had interviewed relatives and used quotation marks and writen the headline like... I don't know you'd have him write it or have written it yourself... that problem would have been solved? People are like that. A few people think critically - the majority of people don't - they rush to condemn at the first mention of an alleged crime. This reporter is not responsible for that.
no, it doesn't happen in every society - the headline determines the response. i could have reported the same story in another way and get a different response.

for example -

woman found dead in her house

a woman has been found dead in her bedroom. the cause of death is unknown but sources say it's poisoning. her husband, mr osewa has been arrested in connection with the case and blah blah blah!!!!
The reporter did speak to the police. Do read again. Anyway, I have already addressed the point I meant to.
where's the quote? if there's no quote then i disagree the reporter spoke to any police. besides, you said nigerians know the meaning of "allegedly". read the first 3 comments on the first page and tell me the posters had not even passed their judgement on the man already.....

that's what lazy journalism does.....
Foreign Affairs › Re: George Zimmerman Acquitted In Trayvon Martin Murder Trial by coogar: 4:51pm On Jul 29, 2013
Van snickers: Black on Black Crime is a topic everyone in the Black community wants to avoid. Several Black men are murdered by men of their own Race and no one says anything. A Black boy is killed by Hispanic, and the Whole black community jumps up and down.

After Watching Zimmerman's interview with Hannity, my opinion that Zimmerman deserved his "not Guilty" verdict has intensified.
i wonder if this intensified "not guilty" opinion would have been the same if trayvon martin was your son.

biolabee: Juan de dios///
The title is misleading

It has led to insinuations of the character of the man and could lead to predjudice against him in a trial if he brought to court
don't mind juan de dios!
how many nigerians understand the meaning of allegedly??

report - husband allegedly poisons wife for barrenness.

most nigerians only pick out the key words which are husband poisons wife for barrenness -

allegedly easily gets lost in interpretation and before you know it, the public wants the husband dead even before the trial starts.......
You can question why the reporter did not dig deeper - that would be okay, at least, on the face of it. But your first post called the article "gutter press" and proceeded to premise that label on the fact someone made a "general simplistic conclusion".
in sane climes, cases like this one should have been given a thorough investigative journalism. at least, get a quote that from a police officer to confirm the arrest.....

My point is that the writer did a good job of reporting the story as it was without inputing his own biases into it. He did not draw any conclusions. If you are familiar with online reporting you will know that when crime stories break, it usually appears on the website without all the facts having come in and with hardly any quotes. As more facts come in the article is developed or a fresh one is written. This is common, even with reputable news sites, including BBC News.
it's lazy jounalism......
no reputable news site would report an alleged murder case without quoting anyone from the concerned parties.
police, relatives, neighbours, etc should have been interviewed......i dunno about you but what's worth doing at all is worth doing well.

it's difficult for me to even believe the incident ever happened!

bukatyne: Feminists don suffer!

Imagine that a poster telling me that kindness and feminism does not jell! Seriously? All feminists must be rude etc. Once the word feminism is written, a lot of posters' have an e-heart attack!

Feminists do not want to marry!
Men are always in the wrong to them!

I wonder if most posters can differentiate between Feminists and Lesbians.
It's well cheesy
what has lesbianism gotta do with feminism? do you think we are illiterates here? what has intimate relationship between 2 women got to do with feminism?

bukatyne - you are by far the worst customer service agent from the coast of nigeria. all my enquiries just got swept under the carpet - well done!!!
The Nigerian press has many faults but the above article is not "gutter press".

The title says "allegedly". Then inside the article it merely REPORTS "THE Police in Ondo State have arrested a 47-year-old bricklayer, Damilare Olotu, for allegedly poisoning his wife, Mary, for being barren."

The above is followed with "it was alleged...", "Reports had it..." . It then concludes with a conversation with the police PRO.
i perused the main article and there was no single quote from the deceased's brother or police spokesman or any of the concerned parties. if that's not gutter press, i don't know what it is. this is believed to be a murder case - i expect a reporter with some intelligence to do his due diligence and get at least one quote from any of the people directly tied to the case, but this is nigeria - ordinary hearsays are good enough to get someone convicted!

The permutations you have made are in order but the reporter here has done a good job of REPORTING without writing his own conclusions into the story. I don't really know where you found the faults that made you label the article "gutter press".
a report without a single quote is flawless in your own eyes? anyways, we must definitely operate on different standards.....

it did not take myhill 720 minutes to get a clean sheet, that's just wrong. if keepers with high minutes are otondos, how did van der sar cop the highest minute of clean sheet keeping in 08/09 with about 1300+ minutes without conceding?

Although I must say that it would only affect the few Non Nigerian British expats who work in the oil sector.

By the time people are not going to UK to shop, no one will tell them to reverse their stupid policy. Na Nigerians dey give them level.

Desola: Nope, it shouldn't be applied to the U.S for instance because they have no reason to come and settle here in their numbers. Their economy is relatively better. New Zealand, Canada and Australia should not be checked because they are part of the British Kingdom. All other countries with low migration into the UK need not be affected either.
but in the report eGuerilla provided, these countries make up the highest violators of the UK immigration laws. it's not like they pay in NHS hospitals too if they fall sick. last time i checked, ghana, nigeria and india were also british colonies. compare how france treats her former colonies to how the UK treats hers - it's so unfair!!!

who put the brits in check when they were busy pillaging nigerian villages? did we give them visas then? they butchered africa like pork, doing as they please. räping our women, tossing the sick over the board and now they want out? nigeria is the mistress britain impregnated outside wedlock, they cannot but cater for us! we are part of them! grin

It's people like us who scream poverty, yet have money to apply for visas multiple times despite refusal who should face the brunt. If the UK is so bad, why do we want to go there at all cost if not to take advantage of something? That is the logic. We go to the UK claiming to be visitors yet we have our children there, we go for unplanned and uninsured treatments which tab would have to be picked by the British government. Abeg its a no brainer. Nigeria deserves the treatment it receives anywhere in the world!
the people going to the UK from nigeria are rich or must be rich. they certainly belong to the top 10% of the highest income earners. i cannot begrudge a man that wants to survive........the brits got us to where we are directly or indirectly! they should take the chaff with the wheat.

If we can't put our house in order, we should not complain of unfairness if others would stop us from coming to put their houses in a mess too.
Na so.
part of why our house is not in order can also be blamed on the brits. packing people of disparate culture together and calling it nigeria is why we are here today. i have no common interest with the average fulani man. why are we both nigerians?

Desola: Today, I read of a Nigerian woman who has now won her fight to stay in the UK after arriving the UK for medical treatment for her kidney illness. Her claim was that she would not get such treatment in Nigerian and may die. Guess what, she has been receiving treatment since she arrived at the expense of the British tax payer. How about the woman who had triplets or was it sextuplets some few years ago, while on holiday (even though she was 9 months pregnant on her arrival). Rather than pay her hospital bills, she resorted to fighting to stay in the UK to care for her newborns as she said she would be unable to do so in Nigeria. These are but a few instances. I am sure that examples of Nigerians taken the UK's free health services abound.

Now, tell me, how do such people contribute positively to the UK?
desola, UKBA recoups that money from the visa fees they charge nigerians in lagos. isn't the british high commission in lagos the busiest in the world? the fees are non-refundable. common mistakes like forgetting to sign application forms make the application invalid and the fees are eaten!
Politics › Re: £3,000 UK Visa Bond To Start In November by coogar: 2:22pm On Jul 29, 2013
eGuerrilla: But, come on, those days are long gone. It is now virtually impossible to arrive off a 747 to a life on benefits in the UK. While I perfectly understand your point about those predestined to occupy low-income groups, I am not sure the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) - which has Vince Cable in the pocket - would agree they need to be regarded as a menace.

My view is that migrants of colour get maligned unjustly, because they tend to congregate mostly in big cities.
Naturally, much of this has to do with the notion of "safety in numbers", as there are still huge swaths of Ukaria that remain inhospitable to folks of a darker hue. Whereas Poles, Latvians, and other newly arriving migrant groups can take over towns like Lincoln and not attract unwanted scrutiny, you know well enough that the same cannot be said about our own people.
spot on, mate!

nigerians are generally loud. even if they move to isle of wight, they would soon attract the attention of their neighbours. loud parties, exotic cars, etc. a nigerian working as a postman is dreaming of owning a porsche cayenne a month after gaining his royal mail employment.....and he's illegal o.....
