busquets is the best DM in the world for the past 5 years.

where yaya toure excels is his ability to bust forward and score vital goals. busquets don't need that cos he has some of the best creators in the world alongside him. the job of a DM is to prevent goals.....scoring is an added tax for them(a secondary role). anyone who feels yaya defends better than busquets needs to go to specsavers.

He has easily been my best AM since he joined Man city, i love watching him play.
I hope our insane LVG is watching, Juan Mata should be played in the hole and not out wide. I'm tired of this LVG goofs, just look how good man city is looking, every player maning his original position.
and this is the same david silva some deluded football fans are comparing to the belgian ikedia.
anyone that thinks hazard is better than silva is not only a fool, he should be crucified, burnt alive.....or both! he completely obliterated west brom with sharp incisive passes, excellent movement and a huge dose of football intelligence. football is not about dribbling and running around into dark alleys.

PO

You really can't compare those players with a player approaching his thirties, there are few agile strikers who are in their thirties in the game today

Penalty duties taken from him is not due to his lacklustre performances, rooney may have past his prime but he's still not to be written off completely, he'll end up being our top scorer again this season, something he has managed to do season in season out

I bet rooney scores more than 15 goals this season
it then begs the question......what is a non-agile striker doing in our attack? united are one of the biggest clubs in europe. in terms of funds, united are easily in the top 3.....so why are we parading a player that isn't even in europe's top 20 list of forwards as our lead striker? we are shooting ourselves in the foot.

Angelo Ogbonna was magnificent. Aside from the first mistimed tackle where he got booked, he didn't put a foot wrong. What was shocking was how the 16year old guy tamed Arsenal's midfield

But do you really rate Ranieri? his cv compared to those on that list isn't too good.
ranieri is good....
look at the team he's managing to start with. which other league in europe can boast of a manager of ranieri's quality managing a relegation team? this is why the EPL is the best league in the world. if we add all the achievements of the managers in the EPL together, no other league in the world even comes close.

I'm not banking on him to score 20goals + but still, anything is possible, we also have creative players who can score goals so it doesn't really matter
the game against spurs is a big game.....chances would always be few and far in between but you should still expect a £300k per week striker to show his class. nothing distinguishes rooney from the rest of the team. when sanchez came on today, we all knew he was around. hazard makes the difference at chelsea. rooney does nothing.

When rooney isn't scoring, he's making assists, or in the build up play that leads to a goal
it seems you are still in 2010....
this is 2015, rooney is finished. i hope you are aware the penalty duties have been taken from him. i will bet you £100 right now that rooney will not score 12 league goals this season.

I still don't think rooney is to be blamed, we didn't move the ball forward and it was getting frustrating for our lone striker, he had no choice but to come back and look for the ball, we were always going to the flanks and walker wasn't giving young any chance to make his crosses into the box, mata on the other hand was always trying to drift to the middle but couldn't get through and ended up going back, as a lone striker what would you have done

I'll fault rooney for his sluggishness today and nothing else
the only time young made a smart move to outfox his marker and put a beautiful cross to rooney, what did he do with it? tell us one reason why rooney needed one touch to whack that ball into the net? we were lucky walker's tackle sent the ball into the own net. rooney saw young got the ball, he saw young made the pass........a world class striker wouldn't even need to touch that ball once in that situation. it shoulda been a sitter for him and yet he fluffed his lines. 20-goal striker? you are having a laugh!

how many times did rooney make a run into a position where the ball can be played to him?
do you think the chances just arrive for the top strikers in the world? they isolate the last man and they make themselves available to receive through passes......rooney didn't even make himself a focal point of the attack, he ran away from that position to hustle the ball in the midfield. that is not how to play as a forward.

I know its still early in the season but the team is still not balanced.

Playing players out of position

Rooney's inability to stay upfront to cause damage, his ability to do that is very suspect as most of us here feel.
rooney lacks any sort of positional discipline.....it's always been his problem with SAF, capello, eriksson. he does not know when to stay back and let the ball come to him. after 3 mins, he goes searching for the ball and then make the team unbalanced. a good striker should make defenders' lives very difficult and rooney hasn't done that in about 3 seasons. suarez didn't score against us in the pre-season but he destroyed our defence unit.....each time he had the ball, he had us shytting our pants. that's what good forwards do.....

Then Plato and his Philosophy, players are more concerned about not losing the ball than trying something inventive, hence the 500 back passes to Romero. Possession game even kills our ability to counter.

Valencia just exposed himself again.

I give the team 50% and that's because we won.
the midfield couldn't even trust the point man to create something out of the ordinary......instead of taking it forward, the ball kept going backwards. it's one of the worst games i have seen at old trafford. thank feck, jones did not feature, we would have conceded a goal with him on the bench. blind as a CB is a waste of time though.....rojo has to come in for a while. shaw is a terrible footballer, but for ashley young, we would have been in serious trouble today.

apart from valencia that arrived late to the party, rooney was the worst player of the pitch. an armoured tank would turn faster than rooney - if LVG does not sort out this striker problem, we would be lucky to score up to 40 goals all season. we were very poor in the final third.

There is fluidity in the middle with Teiger, Mata and Herrera, but there seem not to have a pointman to slip the ball to because Rooney drifts back.

The passing/Possession game we are playing is also slowing things down. It is responsible for the single shot on target. That and the inability of the midfielders to find Rooney in a scoring position.

Mata and Young are trying. Teiger trying to stamp his authority. Herrera still warming up.
if rooney had played as a striker, he would have scored a hatrick grin

de gea will not start for spain irregardless of his club. florentino perez has no influence on del bosque and del bosque is a big fan of casillas. casillas had problems with perez, not with del bosque. casillas is only 34......van der sar hadn't even joined united when he was 34. there's still plenty of international games for casillas to play for spain. de gea is not a sure starter for spain.

I guess Shaw hasn't come fully to terms with the kind of club he joined.
To think this guy was the reason Evra changed his mind about staying with United.
such an unproven overrated featherweight....who leaves #3 for #23 if not a serial loser?

More outstanding is the fact that LvG seems to be more on the defensive on this De Gea matter. He doesn't sound even remotely optimistic about keeping him.
His transfer business, aside from the first week of july seems tardy, haphazard and unsure. It's a major surprise that we are still scrambling for signings in vital areas, as the season beckons. Last year we could argue that he had an extended stay in the world cup.
i think he is too arrogant for his own good, in reality.
extremely arrogant......he forgets players these days are made of cotton wool....
they are very emotionally fragile, they need big arms around them to assure them all would be well. he's still thinks players are sturdy like they were in 1995. LVG better starts getting his decisions right.....he has no excuse this season.

Valdes?
That guy has been made persona non grata at united by Prof Plato. If I were him I wouldn't even suit up, to talk of playing.
I still think Sam Johnstone is favourite to start tomorrow for the reason of him being in game shape.
time will tell.......

I'd like to campaign that we give Rooney our support for this season and see whether he can live up to the expectation. It won't be his fault if we don't do much. van Gaal will bear the blame for not re-enforcing the forward line after letting key players in that department leave.
van gaal will blame rooney, the british media would blame van gaal......they would say rooney is better in the hole than as a striker. grin

So he'd be kept and sold for free next season? What's wisdom in that? He doesn't want to stay, let him leave!! There are many keepers out there, good keepers. Romero ain't bad, he can cover well if DDG is sold. If we can get Otamendi and Pedro, we won't miss DDG that much. He's good, but I'm against him leaving for free. That's bad business.
the £20m means nothing to us as well and we would be missing a world class goalie.
the glazers would take the money and use it to buy another private jet to add to their collection. united are not a selling club like chelsea and arsenal. i would rather keep de gea for another season and let him walk free.......

de gea not wanting to stay is red herring. there's euros next summer.....his performance with us would determine whether he makes the spain squad or not so he has no choice than to perform. i expect experienced hands like LVG to know this and use it to our advantage but the philosopher is busy keeping malice with a lad young enough to be his grandson.

Nice convo you guys got going there. I don't think the woozy feelings should be enough to direct the course of a person's decision in terms of marital choice. Even for people you take your time to study, you can still find surprises, how much more when "follow your heart" is the mantra.

Meanwhile, Sorry o but I'm going to derail a bit. I had an interesting encounter with someone on my way back from work today and the drama that ensued got me thinking.

I use the BRT buses on my back from work. So this evening, I did the normal thing and joined the queue so I could take a bus. Then some man comes from nowhere feeling fly and jumps the queue. And people give him space, so he ends up about 3 places before me. Meanwhile, I'd already made it clear that it was wrong for them to even give the dude space in the first place. Sha, I walk up to him and tell him clearly "you can't enter this bus before me", so he reluctantly allowed take the space before him. Finally we got into the bus, then he starts talking plenty about how I don't have respect for men, and all the other people that allowed him jump the queue, are they less human than I am? So a hot debate started about who was right and who wasn't.

Some people in the bus said I was just being vindictive (which I know I wasn't),and some others thought I had a valid point. And my point was this: didn't it just nulify the effort and law abiding nature of all the others who took their places on the queue in the proper manner if one person could have just come from nowhere and jump the queue. I think as insignificant as it seemed, its a social vice that should be nipped in the bud. Other social offences like overtaking at a corner, driving on the brt lane, parking in wrong places and some other stupid things Nigerians like to do and get away with, they start with this kind of action going on without anyone standing up to say its wrong. But I'd like to kno what you guys think as well.
so bodashee is also a social justice warrior? grin

what does it matter if a man jumps the queue? everybody would get in the bus so why worry? such things don't bother me.....i despise loud users of mobile phones on the bus than people who try to jump the queue. what if he is a junkie and he slaps you when you accosted her?

the weight of the #3 shirt nearly strangled him last season. luke shaw has no ambition. how can one drop that priceless shirt for 23? unless we are bringing in ramos or otamendi, shaw should be flogged massively for that decision.

LVG's war with de gea is interesting. we get it that the boy's head has been turned but an experienced manager should be doing his best to keep him happy till we negotiate the pre-qualifying games before playing chess and checkers. i don't think LVG has gotten any single decision correctly this summer. what the heck is wrong with him? he promised we would be better prepared this term than the last season and it seems to me we are actually worse off..... too many unsettled players in the squad.

if he fails to start de gea tomorrow then valdez should play.....he's still our player. romero hasn't kicked one minute in any competitive game for us and should not be starting against spurs. we have enough ammo to destroy spurs anyways and if we don't win, it wouldn't be because of the goalie......it would be because the elephant in the room is already failing to live up to his promise of 25 goals per season. let's see how it pans out but LVG is pissing me off already with his decisions and his nonchalant attitude.

The Ukranians have a saying; "before you marry a woman check out her mother". I just find it hard to believe any man would rather "just go with their heart", than properly armed with knowledge, understanding, well set expectations and a long-term view.

I thank God, nothing I've encounterd in marriage has fazed me and if I haven't anticipated and had a plan for everything, the right course typically comes easy. I did my groundwork, prep and due dilligence. Set my standards way high prior, and my expectations way low after grin. I'm very happy.

Holá, thanks for the nod. Pretty much unles there are any questions; to recap younger can help in in 2 main ways and a further I didn't actually touch on.

1. Sex - it is rearely mentioned and I actually believe many don't even realise - and it's compounded by myths about women reachin gthewir sexual peak late? - but women' libido as well as starting off from a lower point than mens, tapers more, and is more strategically deployed and tied with child-rearing. Not to mention - something else that goes unsaid - pregnancy can add 10 years to a woman. And kids change their priorities.

2. Status - as important, especially for securing the best partned and maintaining the relationship. Your maturity, proactive nature and forward-thinking are assumed, as is your close attention to your physical health and fitness. The more she respects you, the more comitted to you and to pleasing you she will be. You'll also be better placed to bear the demands of marriage and your wife

3. Siring - earlier childbirth - this is more absolute age as opposed to relative age for 1 & 2 - has a number of benefits. From your wifes fertility, ability and time to recover, to the childs wellbeing. You have a longer time to benifit older generations.

And please note; an exercise culture and consideration to health is something you should be on the lookout for. Just marrying younger is not the only thing. I was aware of this and usually brought it up in discussion. But note, women will respond strategically; either by claiming they have, or absolutely intend too. And often will force it - form/pretend - to seal the deal.

When I found this out I changed tack. No demands or blatant queries- I'd wait for it to naturally come up in conversation, then probe non-specifically. My WTB said she often started at 7am. "Why" I asked? "to use the gym", she replied. This meant she got it. All I need to do is offer encouragement and support - as needed. Forcing it doesn't work, I'm not sure it's actually right?

Marriage can be a huge burden for men - you wake up one day and you've got a couple of screaming kids and a woman who overnight appears to have turned into your mother. And you are slaving away to keep them. You need to be mentally prepared and have properly set expectations. You owe it to yourself to give it the best chance possible to be long-lasting and fulfilling union.

I've always wanted to discuss more the practicalities and not just the theory - which will in any event vary widely based on individual circumstances and desires, and must be tailored accordingly.

The virtues would be a good place to start. Specifically these that benefit pre-marriage & marriage. Courage, patience, empathy, humility, temperance dilligence. The flip side of that coin is of course the vices - anger, lust, pride, sloth etc.

Also discussing the dynamic would be great. How do you effect your headhsip? Is it even a thing in your household? Is it benign, light-touch or very obviously wielded. How would you consider the dynamic between you and your wife. Is it where you'd like it to be? Did it just happen? What can be done to change it.

And perhaps a subset of the above - how to cope with some of changes the transition from bachelor to husband brings, and some of the bigger life events &/or relationship changes once married.

Oya, as the testosterone leads grin!

I heard he had just one year left on his contract that na why the price was that small.
no club can afford the wages we pay them so they move the value of the player to maintain his wages per week. RVP still managed to get £240k per week in turkey & that was the reason his transfer value was low.

LVG is still after a striker according to various sources. they did an analysis of his 4 likely targets on skysports the other night and lewandowski, lacazette, cavani, etc were highlighted. all hope is not lost but my confidence level for now is in the pits. if he fails to add an extra striker to the attack and at least one additional defender then i would be very mad at him. we are 2 good signings away from a complete squad, he should do the needful.

the bale bid is just rubbish. £100m on bale? that amount would bring reus, lacazette and otamendi to old trafford with £10m change sef....

Very sad Rafael is leaving, he was one of the few players that gave his all to the club, he really played for the badge.
astonishing that rafael is leaving and yet we have billy-goats like jones & evans in the defence.....
LVG is digging his own grave. even if we agree he wants tall defenders, rafael has a tremendous leap in him and he can play him when shaw isn't playing on the left. he's a better crosser than anyone on that right channel since 08/09 season.

see you guys later......make i go watch mourinho-wenger show - season 9 grin

Lol. Na d way. As for me, i've decided if i can't win Div 1 in either of FUT or online seasons before Fifa 16's launch, den i'll not be getting 16. I'll just pass on 16 and chill till 17.
No point in buying a new game for me wen i can't even beat d old one...
FUT15 was badly scripted.
all those kids on youtube have burnt thousands of hours to identify the game's flaws and they are giving out the info for free on youtube channels. if you play a certain way with some certain players, you would get to div 1. just buy doumbia, ibarbo, sturridge, etc and you are almost there.

i am buying FUT16 preorder this week.....

nothing to fret about....
LVG has just dug his own grave cos he's clearly underestimated the english media. LVG is playing with a dangerous snake. LVG is canny by deliberately placing his faith in rooney and he's also put pressure on rooney publicly to deliver on his promise of scoring 25-30 goals in the centre forward position.

if rooney fails to deliver 25 goals....LVG is banking on english media to shred rooney to bits and that's a massive mistake. the media would turn it around and say LVG has ruined rooney and playing in the hole is the best position for him. i like how this is playing out. if we don't make top 4 next season, one of rooney or LVG has to vamoose and it would be well-deserved.

Di maria is bouncing 2moro for £44 million he's having his medical today! Pedro or gaitan mooted as replacements! What a disaster!

i don't care about di maria. he did little when he was here and he was deservedly benched by ashley young in the run-in. we should turn our thoughts to players that are hungry to win for the badge, not cry-babies. we have 30 days to buy a forward and a quality defender. if LVG fails to land those players then we would finish 5th.
