Debroslink: Remove Barca and Madrid from UCL, and the competition loses its glory. Where are the epl teams in Europe if the league is really that strong?
Remove barca and Madrid from Spain and place them in EPL. EPL will be worst than Scottish league. madrid and barca would be like spurs and villa if they come to the EPL. the £150m TV money each of them get to buy suarez & neymar while their rivals get only £20m for the past 10 years would not wash in the EPL. this is exactly the point. madrid will not be able to afford the world class players they have always acquired if they were in the premier league. SIRcumalot: Lineker can't tell the difference between strongest teams and strongest league. The fact that la liga contains the two best teams currently doesn't automatically mean they have the strongest league. and this is the mistake most people make.... you have la liga where the top 2 teams have 95% pass mark, the 3rd best team has 80% and others have 30%. EPL have the top 4 teams at 85%, the other 16 teams at 70% each. which of the 2 leagues have the highest overall strength? even a kid of 5 would tell you EPL is the most competitive league in the world. |

A competitionwhere SSterling failed woefully against Besiktas. Vidal doesn't need to play for a big club to prove his worth.
Sterling's sale just shows how overrated epl is. Imagine Chelsea scoping Stones for 25m pounds. Who the hell is he? so how come only 2 clubs have won the champions league in the history of la liga? where's the strength? if you remove barca and real madrid from the equation, la liga has no history in europe! TV01: Go young, young man, go young II
I’ll continue the discussion about age differentials & sex as warranted but I wanted to touch on another reason – possibly even more important - why an appropriate age differential is a good thing.
Status: Whatever women say to the contrary they typically want to partner with men of higher status. Now, by status, we can mean a number of things, or a multi-faceted thing.
Power, wealth, academic achievement, societal respect or recognition in the main, but not excluding others such as physical attributes, peculiar talents/skills, occupation, etc. Emphasis can be different from place to place, and cultures may stress or favour one or other.
It can mean personality in the short term, but in a marriage type situation, over time, wifey go "see you finish", so a great personality, won't hide character flaws or behavioural problems. Funny, many women fall for personality.
At an individual level, it may also vary dependant on circumstances; so for example, an independently rich woman, may not place as much emphasis on earnings or potential.
Now, status is particularly important to women - and relevant to men - because it informs female attraction.
As a rule, women lose attraction for men who they consider lower status – compounding by the fact that they will typically blame you if they feel they deserve more than you are offering, or they could have done better without you, or with someone different. Regardless of if this is in fact true or not.
When a women starts to think as above, a number of things can potentially happen
1. She will constantly test him and drag headship and otherwise nag and make your life a misery 2. She will be more prone to stray and be receptive to the “higher status” men she comes into contact with 3. You are more likely to be cuckolded 4. In countries where the law favours women, she will be more likely to “Wexit” – wife exit – the marriage using divorce laws – potentially leaving you struggling.
The main exceptions to this rule are women who are well socialised culturally or religiously to always defer to male headship, or for some other reason cannot stray or leave.
But even here, unless they are super so, their disgruntled state will manifest in the union, and it won’t be as happy as it could be. Fact “many unions exist in a state of low level conflict”, your higher status and the respect it engenders can help obviate that.
When a woman truly respects you, you will be able to tell by how she treats you – she’ll look to please you and be sexually responsive (ATBE i.e. health, pregnancy etc.).
As a man, it’s imperative that you are able to provide for your home as much as possible. Not to say your wife cannot make a contribution, but it’s primarily your responsibility.
The easiest way to lose status is to not be able to provide. Women may claim about sexual failings, but they hate nothing more than a “useless” man – one who cannot provide.
Being older, will help you be more established, mature and able to deal with the dynamics of marriage better. You’ll earn more respect and status as your demonstrate long-term visionary and strategic thinking. And hopefully, employ any assets you have to ground the union.
Additionally, there will be a natural respect for an older, more mature, more established man – but you must live up to this as above, and dealing with her wisely.
If anything, I’d say if at all possible, marry a woman who earns less. If economics means you need a high-earning wife, try to increase your income, increase to match, or get a well socialised one. And demonstrate status in other areas.
For example, Tony Blairs wife earned more, but he was PM. If you marry a high earning investment banker and you are highly regarded in academic circles – move from Lecturer to Dr or Prof.
Decipher what women say and what they want. When they say “equality in the marriage”, they don’t want to equally share or stress about provision or financial stability.
They want to claim equal contribution, but be secure that if they wanted to go open a boutique or take 2 year off to raise the kids, they wouldn’t suffer an impaired lifestyle. They want to claim equal decision making, but the buck stops with you if major endeavours go k-legged.
Do chores all you want, but they don’t enhance your status in lieu of the big ticket items. If you lose yourself in her emotions, she will punish you for her feelings. Don’t focus primarily on making her happy, strive to be a good husband and father. And of course God first – and make sure she knows it – Pastor is also status !
TV i reiterate......which is which? yetunde bust line vs youngies? |

SIRcumalot: Its a pre season game. Even though your lack of belief in rooney has never wavered using a preseason game to further your point is a bit weak considering he also scored against Barca. Suarez has only scored one goal I don't even think Costa has scored at all.
My people make una no overreact it is just one game. Plato fit start De gea as a striker as long as that doesn't happen in regular season. when suarez doesn't score, he makes things happen. he worries defenders, he engages them, he makes attempts, he assists - which of these has rooney done since the preseason? zilch!! he's just a striker that would deliver a goal every 3-4 games and people like you would continue to make cheap excuses for him. this is 2015, not 2010. rooney has given close to 13 years of his life to football, it's not an insult to say he's finished. players with rooney's body size do not cope well with old age. |

Sagamite: Trust me, in marriage, not many women would be demanding it often.
Just like men, most of them too would after a while find it boring to be doing it with the same person over and over again and expected to have it with only that person till they die.
The same person that they see every day and don see finish?
You will soon know women have too much "headaches", hence can't give action.
What women just tend to do differently from men is that they are more likely to ignore their desire for a different sexual partner and focus their energy on raising the kids.
This is not because they are more principled, selfless or have higher morals than men. It is because of a mixture of things like the consequence when caught is more severe, what they want from relationship with men is more than sex (they often can't detach emotions from it after a while), they are evolutionarily built to be able to control their urges more etc.
Note: I said "tend" and "more likely". Don't make the mistake of thinking married women don't cheat.
The point is that, many long-term marriages are sexless (at least between the 2 parties in it). .......otherwise known as the coolidge effect. after a while, seeing the same woman in the nudė on a daily basis would no longer have the same effect it used to have. by that time, one's wife would not be any different from one's sister. it's almost laughable to think a man would continue to have the same intensity of desire for the same woman. |

TV01: Good to hear dude!
Please marry old and report back to us .
I’ve said my own – and just too be clear, I’m not saying that every man at any age should marry a young girl, I am saying – generally – alignment will be better if the woman is relatively younger. One can factor for outliers and unusual situations – and every relationship is bespoke – but it’s a good rule of thumb. Not far from the “half your age +7 years” rule, which has been around forever.
As for the sex piece in particular, from what I’ve seen and heard, I know the “women reach their peak at 40 is a myth. It makes no sense.
Are women really telling us that their desire increases as they age, after they have children, as their bodies lose their vigour and as menopause kicks in are more active than in their youth?
Yes, I admit that in certain circumstances sex may still be thoroughly enjoyable, but it will not be desired as much or as frenetic as previous.
And for many the worries of work, childcare, bills etc. occupy them so much - with little time for exercise, healthy living etc. – that libido takes a hike.
And yes this affects, men and women, but women have more of the earlier mentioned physical issues to deal with. Testosterone is a thing, the “drive differentials” are real. It’s more an “impulse” with men and more an “emotional connection” with women.
Men, tread carefully and choose wisely. Paint two scenarios in your head; a 35 man marrying a 25 year old, or a 35 man marrying a 34 year old. How do you think that will play out, what pressures will come to bear?
TV yetunde bust line......here i come. edwife: @coogar marry who you want to marry,no rules will ever save you if you don't meet your match. older women cook better and they appreciate the man more than these young brainless bimbos who believe everything has to be given to them. i vote for older women. Kimoni: coogar, marry a matured single and you will testify na mature married you wan make i marry before? naijababe: One last thing I forgot to mention, old women from naija to American have affairs with their drivers, pool boys and the likes...............I would hazard a guess that libido is much more than testorone, after all the best selling intimacy gadget is a 'rabbit' grin this is more to do with the hypocrisy of women than anything else. rabbit as a yardstick will not cut it until you find the statistics of married men using hookers to pass time. while men are free to sow their wild oats even in marriage, women are bound.........so they use intimacy gadgets more otherwise her society would judge her. |

StarBoard: Please provide stats to validate that claim. If he failed at Chelsea, what is the guarantee that he will succeed in the same EPL where he struggled with United?A player with only 3 appearances in his EPL career cannot be said to know it inside out. 10 goals, 20 assists in 34 apps last season for KDB. trust me, the wigga has come of age. he was a beast in bundesliga last season. i think he also made the Buli team of the season. he's stronger on the ball than mata, he's pacier and his shots make rooney look like an apprentice. if managed well, he can become one of the top 5 attacking midfielders in the world. I reluctantly agree. Maybe if Sterling didn't go for that high a fee, we could be having a debate about the worth of a player. Then again, you have Mr. Plato to contend with when buying. Dude is not likely to make the same mistake he made with sthe Di Maria signing. the only reason i am happy is that mr plato knows there's still a missing piece of the jigsaw in the attack. it gives me confidence that he would address it. the transfer of players like KDB, griezmann, reus would always go down to the wire because a lot of parties would want to have a nibble at it. we should go for one of them whether di maria leaves or not.

edwife: I have to say this too:As y'all on the look out for younger and "fresher" women,i think it will also be good to understand this.
Gone are the days when innocence and reservation were the norm.Young women these days "do not look up to you" without your pocket being the prime commender in chief in the relationship.
-They are likely to sleep with twice the number of men the older women have slept with.Sex is no longer a taboo nowadays,a 23 years old today can count up to 10 guys she had sex with. From the first guy who dis-virgin her at 14/15 to the lecturer who did not want to let her pass, the boyfriend at school who was ever willing to help with assignments, the neighbours, the sugar daddy to the 3 suitors who are asking for her hand in marriage.(including you )
-Younger women have as much baggages as older women if not more.Long are the days older women were too sedentary and set in their ways, but be aware that most of 20-somethings are more than capable of being pretty damn lazy and stubborn too. These girls are learning ,they are thirsty, they want to achieve and gain as much as the men.
-Not many girls today want to depend solely on men, they want to take and still make their own. They also have their own rules and are more likely to change or take any advice given outside as long as it goes with what they believe in.Many are naive and easy to convince.
-Older women might not necessarily have been out there, many were so drown in their career or education that they had little or no time for men and when many of you men were running away from them, they concentrated on building their carrier and pleasuring themselves with Love Machine.Whenever they find a man, they hold to that man-all they need at this point in their life is to have kids and a family.
-The mistake many of you men make is that you refuse to believe that women are very smart and manipulative. They will make you believe what they want you to believe. These younger women are not after your willy or sexual prowess but the financial security. There is no more patience.
Just a few posts i took from one of my favourite site, they keep it real over there.
There were a day we were in the village for christmas,my SIL asked her friend:Did you noticed something?most of the man in the village were lonely and almost abandoned by their kids and wives. Yes in ibo land most men tend to marry young, they have a fulfil time when the women are kept at home taking care of their kids and needs but as time goes on,the kids leave and the women live again. Some pursue their dreams while some leave to live with their kids.I know many who live in Owerri teaching, doing business while their husbands retire quietly in the village.I am talking about 10/15 years gap.
-Just to give you a glimpse of what goes on,how many tales of marital complains we have here on NL everyday with a younger wives.
-Sex sex sex what can i say?Unless you are a woman-you wouldn't really know, would you?
I picked this from the net and was a good enough explanation for me and as a woman i know what this means.
-Women being second wives has nothing to do with sex,sex is the last thing on their minds-financial security is. -Have you wonder why we have so many tales of women sleeping with their drivers, husband lawyers and younger boys?
So in conclusion,Marriage is above all about 50-50 partnership; differences in ages also mean differences in life experience and cultural reference points.
Nothing beats compatibility. so which is which? to marry an old woman or to marry a young one? |

But I get the overall gist of your point. We need to act fast if we are going to sign anybody of note. mata better than KDB? i strongly vacillate..... KDB went from a mediocre chelsea midfielder to a world class player at wolfsburg. his case has huge similarities with pogba. he knows the premier league inside out cos he's been here before. what's not to like? we should no longer be having problems with price......as long as the player can deliver and he's marketable. if city can pay £49m for a runt like sterling, why should we be scared to overpay? we would always be overcharged for elite players....the selling clubs are well aware of our bottomless coffer. |

Pataki: Every time I come on this thread, I end up laughing endlessly. It really must be heart wrenching to be a ManU fan for the next 30 something days of this transfer window.
Imagine, Arsenal does not even need a GK, yet we bought Cech. Chelsea upgraded or even downgraded (time will tell) by buying Begovic. Our beloved ScumTwats decided to go for a backup who is a backup to Arsenal GK backup.
From a business point of view, I know for certainty ManU will never let De Gea run down his contract without having to sell him off. And this is the same club coogar was saying every player in the world wants to play for the ManU brand? i smell jealousy & envy. de gea & romero are both better than cech and even your 2-brained cell ospina. it's funny that a fan of a club that hasn't won the league in 11 years is talking about a heart-wrench. if this wasn't an anonymous medium, i wonder how you would be able to stand in public as an arsenal fan. arsenal should be synonymous to failure in the dictionary. the only club left in the traditional top 4 yet to win the champions league. shame on the north london club! |

afrodoc2: I have always liked Reus, he would excel in this team and this league BARRING injury problems. I would take him ahead of ADM,KDB griezmann or pedro.........the only conflict would be a choice between Reus and Muller. reus all fecking day cos he has pace for days. muller has shot & tekkers but no pace. |
