Andre Uweh: Ayo Ogulana, a very decent player, he later played for Nigeria at Algeria 90. Samson Ozogula did not play for Leventis but for IICC. He came from Insurance. I remember when Louis Igwillo cancelled his goal at injury time. Then IICC played their home matches at Liberty stadium Oke ado.
good old days, bro!
the challenge cup then was better to watch than uefa champions league. super teams like bcc lions, ranchers bees, abiola babes and of course, leventis. iwamyanwu nationale(formerly spartans of owerri) also did well in stints then.

Nice to see Rio isn't totally the F.A's whipping boy.
fergie is evil!
he pushed that button. he said he would honour future invitations but he doesn't want to ruin his programmed schedule. what a lazy player!!! truth he told though, he's beasted it this season.

dayokanu: I am not sure But Davidson owumi was an Edo boy I think he used to be team managed of benin Insurance. These boys too I guess were Edo boys but I think they lived somewhere in Osun State
they lived in osogbo - i had a chat with the fair one after the match. he said he did play for nepa osogbo during ASUU strike but academics and his parents hampered his football career.

Andre Uweh: Uwem Ekarika is dead, it's a pity. James Etokebe was a one time director of sports in Akwa Ibom, while I met Mattew Onyeama at one Igbo function in Barking, London last year.
na wa o! that leventis team was solid.
andrew uwe, ogunlana, edward ansah and was there an ozogula there then? not too sure!
Sports › Re: Shooting Stars Of Ibadan (Oluyole Warriors) Fan Thread! by coogar: 11:44pm On Mar 18, 2013
uwem ekarika is dead now?
Christ almighty! he's the only striker that is better than yekini in the history of nigerian football. he's as fast as hell. supported by james etokebe and wole odegbami. leventis united should be brought back, abeg. they are the only nigerian club with the hallmark of man utd!

dayokanu: Dennis Owumi and Chris Owumi

Chris was the fair one, Dennis was the dark one. Dennis was more rugged though. After Ortega, Casca, etc left the Owumis were the core of OAU team

But after GPA begin reduce those boys forgot football
i witnessed those 2 brothers in a game in 99. dang it, those boys were outstanding. their parents should have sent them abroad then. waste of talents!

dayokanu: Do you know Agoyes younger bro that went to Ife?

You played for UI? with that your 2 left legs?grin cheesy No wonder una no fit win NUGA cheesy grin
the agoyes no sabi play jor. the best OAU players were those owumi brothers. i think one played for sports hall and the other for awo. one is fair and the other is dark. those boys were fire back then!

Nightshift: A forced federal union has never survived the test of time in our modern world. Nigeria is gradually going the way of former USSR and Yugoslavia. The central government is week and helpless to salvage the situation. For how long shall we continue to live in denial? May God grant the departed souls eternal peace!!
we would continue to fast and pray.
top religious leaders who can effect this change keeping dancing to the tunes of these corrupt politicians. have you not seen GEJ kneeling at the redemption camp? paying homage to the people who can mobilise large crowds and force a revolution. pastor adeboye would then tell his 20 million followers to keep praying instead of telling them to march to aso rock!

jonathan goodluck is an incompetent leader.
he's so bad he makes me miss abacha in times like this. what a fool of a leader mr goodluck is. what exactly has he achieved? epileptic power supply, expensive fuel and now bomb attacks every month. nigerians should force this fisherman out of aso rock.
Just want to know. But in my opinion, it should be the dad. Women have enough to do in the house already.
What do u think?
it should be the dad. kids are more likely to sit up listening to the baritone voice of the dad than the mum who can be sometimes soft. i am good at math and english so the wife should be in the kitchen - making a bowl of steamy beans.... cool

bee444: Every misfortune ain't spiritual attack but every misfortune is spiritual; there's always the destiny part to it. What will happen will and everything has been preordained.

I am not a religious person, but I believe in God. I also believe in personality and being independent. When I told my MIL that our decision was a spiritual one, I was just trying not to make it sound too remote. I just needed something to make her reason. It was just a decision we made and which we think was best for us. And to be honest, I never and will never regret that decision.
that's the spirit!
don't let anyone rule over your marriage. you owe nobody no explanation. who was there when you were prespiring during the baby-dancing? your wife, your baby, your choice!!!

Andre Uweh: I can remember clearly being present on the day Adamashingba stadium was commissioned. Shooting lost 1 nil that evening to El-Kanemi warriors of Maiduguiri. The sadium was later renamed Lekan Salami stadium.
I followed Shooting regularly during my growing up days at Ibadan. It was more fun when my guys were signed by Shooting namely-Seyi Ajayi, Daniel Uka, Edith Agoye, Frank Egbano and Moday Odita. We were friends via Igbo league, or playing together in Unibadan sports complex, Ibadan football league and training together at IITA Moniya.
Till date, I still consider my self an Ibadan boy.
Up shooting.
how old is andrew uweh?
permit me to start calling you mazi andrew. deal?
Pls nairalanders, a friend of mine looks depressed unlike him. I asked severally and he later opened up to me, his plight:

He is thirty, the only child and he lost his father 12 years ago. He is from the eastern part of the country, graduated from one of the higer institutions in Nigeria and just on his nysc. He has his poor mother @ the village.

Now his problem is that his mother and other close relatives have been pestering this my guy to get married without any job or steady source of income. His vehement refusal to get married until he has secured a job or @least have a reasonable source of income made the family members to look @ him as irresponsible child. His mother is not happy hence his unhappiness.

Now he want members of this forum to advice him, should he get married now to pls his mother and other family members that love him or should he hold on till he gets a job or @least a reasonable source of income?

Ur candid advice would be appreciated.
tell him i said he should not marry till he's 40.

biolabee: LOL
true but the situation has to be managed
Her feelings are perfectly natural
how so?
if my own parents can understand - why can't she? i think nigerians in general idolise the mother-in-law too much. the daughter is now married. she's left her parents, i have left mine to forge our own family.

If anything happens in her marital home, who will she run to
If her hubby becomes a widower or divorces her, who will raise that child with her
If that child is orphaned, who will raise the child
same applies to the man as well.

My own is they should eat humble pie
You never know when you will need that woman
humble pie my foot!
well - the degree of bitchassness tolerance varies from one individual to another. if i were this guy, my communication with the mother in law stops the day we told her of the newborn with her refusing to show up at the hospital. i would just consider her non-existent. in my heart of hearts, i would assume she has travelled, imprisoned or dead. i have a mum who can help my wife and the newborn!
Family › Re: You Must Tell Me Everything That's Going On In Your Marriage: Mother-in-law by coogar: 7:08pm On Mar 18, 2013
biolabee: this i fully agree with and my earlier posts corroborate this
However she needs her mom expressly on her side with all the new baby skills she needs to learn
The man's mother may not be too disposed to do leg work for her DIL

Hence she needs to suck it and beg
God forbid!
a mother in law that is not happy with my newborn is not welcome in my house. let her stay in her husband's house. there are wives without mothers in this world and they are coping quite well. what sort of mother in law would not put her pride and ego aside and celebrate the birth of her grandchild? may she rot in blazes!!!!

nonsense!

wonlasewonimi: It's now shyte system. At least we have moved from they don't create enough chances for the strikers. Ba wasted enough created chances last night.
the creators have to do more.....van persie gets 8-12 chances per game sometimes. 3-4 chances for a striker is not enough.......

biolabee: i have explained my point, if u have a superior argument, present it
mother-in-law needs a reality check. her daughter is no longer a baby. i doubt she raised her to be independent - this can be the only reason why she wants to know everything including her sex routine in her matrimonial house.

semse: I really want to find out if there are other married women like me or if my case is different. I am currently married to a man I love so and I know he loves me so much too. we met back at the university and we were very close friends. We decided to get married April last year. The issue is that I see him more like a friend than a husband. I mean our marriage is more like a platonic relationship. I love it when he holds me, when I rest on his chest, the hugs, jist, going out and every other thing, but we do not have sex often (like once in two weeks or more). We live in same house, sleep in same room, eat in same plate, but sex is always least on our minds, and I am sure he is not cheating on me, neither have I ever thought of cheating on him. He has never complained neither have I because we are perfectly fine with it, but what I read online and in books about marriage and sex, how sex keeps marriage going, and other stuff is quite different from what I am experiencing. We are more like friends than ‘husband and wife.’ Is this supposed to be?
once in two weeks? tufiakwu!
your husband needs to check his testosterone level. is he 40 yrs or more? i bombard my partner twice a day and i still think i am not doing enough! discussion is still on the way to increase my ration and your husband is fine with once in 2 weeks? what you guys are going through is abnormal but if you are both happy with the arrangement then kudos to you!
