wesley80: Dude, God's power is the daily reality I live with. I do not need any Pastor to prove it to me, even if all the pastors came out today to renounce their Faith, I've got my personal revelation that is hinged on no Man of God but on Christ himself. The signs and wonders are for folks like you that doubt to believe but as the Good Book says "seeing, they still will not believe"
You say "Go book a month long session with a psychiatrist and maybe He'll find a solution" and I say "Go to church on Sunday and be set free". Its a matter of choice!
it puts things in perspective
no wonder nigeria is the best country to live in - they have set free all the people that are heavy-laden and the country now is paradise compared to the other countries of the world!

you have eyes and yet do not see. i wouldn't even bother if you couldn't read and write but for a supposed educated chap like you to be spewing rubbish on the Internet speaks volume on the kind of education nigerians have under their belts!

a certain fraudster duped 7000 nigerians a year ago, told them he would spirit all of them to canada. at least, half of them claimed they sought spiritual help to determine the authenticity of the process. these spiritualists all came back to say the process was genuine and the applicants should proceed with it. we all know how that story panned out later....

i dunno you from adam but my £2 says you are a lazy-thinker!!!!

4llerbuntu: I get how arsenal is d new flavor of the month helping you all forget your worries. Pretty convenient isn't it? At least you're all wiser now and not predicting relegation or europa cup like you used to foolishly do
stop being insecure - we don't give a rat about what happens at the emirates!! arsenal stopped being a club rival since the spring of 2008. why should we bother about arsenal when there are other tilapia fishes to fry?

Im just pretty bemused that the same squad you got that produced months and months of debates and sparring on this thread has suddenly become good by the purchase of 1player in the position where there is no need.
your cognitive reasoning needs help from the red cross. van persie is not the sole reason united fans are highly optimistic. it's the return of vidic, cleverley, anderson, fletcher and the fact that david de gea now has a year experience in the premier league. add that to the acquisition of van persie and shinji kagawa and you have the perfect blend of experience and youth all forged into one goal of winning titles!

jealousy is a female trait....

Like seriously, this has to be the weirdest ever. Before that transfer was mooted, there were the usual fantasy football list here. When the news broke, you all spoke against the move citing more pressing needs. The moment the move was done, allaluiaaa all is well in mancunia again. 1 player!!!
"like seriously" is the phrase that peeves me the most especially coming from a human with gonads. when females utter it, it can be understood cos women are just what they are - women! but when a y-chromosome carrier utters such shyte, it exposes the lack of intelligence and shows you up as a nincompoop!

when the news broke, united fans didn't know then that fletcher would be returning, united fans did not know cleverley would maintain the composure that heralded him as the best midfielder in england and united fans did not factor kagawa can also play in the midfield. van persie's acquisition now gives us a variety of options to operate when faced with stubborn opponents - it also means united can now sail safely in 4 different competitions without fatigue!

in sheer numbers, carrick, giggs, jones, scholes, kagawa, cleverley, anderson, fletcher and powell would all be fighting for only 2 positions in the central midfield. why then do united need another midfielder? do you think with the soles of your feet? this is a team whose route to goal is mostly through the flanks and they have nani, valencia, young, kagawa to operate in that area of the pitch - so what do united lack that others have?

Sagamite: So just for the record, so no one will say Saga is just having mouth, I will go through Laws, Power and Authority.

When I say I will destroy someone's argument, it is not mouth, it is a fact. Saga can back up whatever he says ANYDAY. I never just have mouth. grin

Fact 1: Laws are made to influence people's behaviour.

Fact 2: Laws are made by those with power and authority in the society.

Never argue against logic. You will lose.

This is the realm of psychology and Saga is well edjucated. Not educated o, Saga is edjucated.

Psychologists have done research into how people respond to Power and Authority. People have only 3 approaches of responding to the influence of those with power and authority e.g. when laws are made.

The 3 approaches of responding to the application of power and authority (e.g. laws) are:

One is fcking Commitment: This is when the person agrees with the decision/law enthusiastically and makes a great effort to carry out a request or follow the law. They agree with the rational/philosophy/mentality of the leader/authorities, and advocate it themselves, as they would have acted as prescribed themselves even without the request/law from the leader or authorities. Basically, the law/desire is the same as their desire anyway.

Second is fcking Compliance: This is when the person is willing to respect the decision/law but is apathetic to the rationale, not enthusiastic. The person will make a minimal effort to carry out a request or follow the law just because they believe the leader/authorities has/have the power to tell them to do it and it is not detrimental to acquiesce.

Third is fcking Resistance: This is when the person is unwilling to respect the decision/law and will try to avoid carrying out a request or follow the law. This might be active resistance or passive resistance depending on a mixture of the type of power the leader has, the ability & willingness to enforce the law and the personality of the follower. The person will refuse to carry out the request at all (active) or carry it out well (passive) because they believe the leader/authorities do not have enough the power to tell them to do it or they think it will be more detrimental to them if they actually follow the law or execute the request than if they did not.

Go and ask any Psychology professor in the WORLD! Be it Oxford, be it Cambridge, be it Harvard, be it Yale.

When I go to Saudi Arabia and feel like kissing my wife but I do not, it is not because I am committed to Islamic laws (God forbid, Saga and religion are like oil and water). I have no desire to live my life based on Islamic laws or any laws made by medieval people.

And despite all my mouth and bravado about being Alpha Male on NL, dem no born me well to resist dem request. I no get that kain liver. Dem go use my balls for kebab.

So what do I do? I comply with their laws because it is not detrimental to acquiesce. It is what I need to do, not my desire. When I am in my hotel room and no one is able to see me, I will resist all their laws with typical Saga superiority confidence. grin That is compliance, I am doing the minimum to follow their laws because I do not have the desire for it but don't want to get into hot water I can not get out off. I don't agree with the decision but I comply.

When a 21 year old guy is heading to the club in his modified car, playing and hearing that drum 'n' base music loudly from his newly installed super sub-woofer, with his original spliff between his fingers that he is puff-puff-passing and he really wants to make this adapted feul-injected car fly at 150 mph in his party-mode euphoria but drives at 40 mph because of the fear of police or speed cameras, he is merely complying with the law, his desire is completely different.

You see, my people, laws do not dictate desires, it only controls behaviour. And sometimes if the power is not sufficient, people will not behave like the law requested (e.g. Nigeria) because they believe the leaders/authority do not have the means or competence to enforce the law. They resist the law and do as they wish. Lets not forget, wish is another word for desire. grin

Saga = badd arse! cool
once again, sagamite has managed to create his own argument by typing 50,000 words without advancing his point one jot! who are you trying to scare with your long-winded epistle that barely scratches the surface. what has power and authority gotta do with the fact that desire is a mediator to behaviour? i am a bit busy now to attack your frail points one after the other but i am dedicating this whole afternoon to put the final nail on your coffin over this issue -

feck sake, it's not even arguable when you put desire/behaviour in the consumer behaviour context! what drives some people to shop in a particular mall and never go to some others? what determines where people shop? brace yourself - just gimme a couple of hours and you better remove the power and authority hubris you wrote up there as it has nothing to do with the points being discussed!

laws don't control desires? explain the concept behind "self-control" then...i mean what do you control when you self-control? grin cheesy grin - jeeez, this is so easy - taking candy off a kid shiznit: the theory of self control has destroyed a 20,000-word argument! checkmate!!!

nigerians are lazy thinkers - this is why they blame every ill on spiritual forces and supernatural beings! it's perfectly normal for the brain to boot its memory and you dream of the things you had thought about during the day! this woman with a spiritual husband is probably a porn addict during the day - most wives in nigeria are jobless anyways so what gives!!!

how anyone can just sit down and conclude spiritual husbands/wives is the reason for sex dreams baffles me.....everything has to be spiritual in nigeria! if a man sleeps rough and wakes up with aches and pains - its not normal, he must have been spiritually-attacked by his step mother! no wonder dubious pastors keep making money in that country.... without these lies and deception, how would they fleece simpletons like yourself out of their hard-earned money?

wesley80: ^ Kobo the counselor. That's new lol.
First of all, there's such a thing as Spiritual Husband, denying its existence is choosing to live in ignorance.
a) I agree with the first part of your post but disagre with the latter part. There isn't such a thing as a "defiled body" The only body that's defiled that the Spirit of God cannot dwell in is that which has rejected Christ, however sin does shortcircuit the power of God in peoples lives hence spiritual oppression experienced. I've seen the power of God manifest in people who's lifestyle I ordinarily would condemn, you could also study the story of Samson to see how "faithful" he actually was.
b) Yes the Bible made reference to "Spiritual husbands" but maybe not in those exact words. The Bible speaks of fallen angels coming to earth in human form to sleep with women who gave birth to giants before God destroyed the world. Same still happens today but cos the laws have changed, they don't readily come physically but through dreams and visions. Of course not all wet dreams automatically translates to having spiritual husbands
C) This isn't something that can be cured thru therapy I assure you, save your money and take a trip to a good church and your problem will be history.

I've never attended TB Joshua's Synagogue - I watch it a lot on TV and spiritual husbands is the most common problem among women that attend the church, all it takes to set them free is a simple rebuke of the Spirit.
spiritual husbands my white butt-cheek!
why are some nigerians so bereft of common sense? what the fuck is a spiritual husband? these people are just demented or in most cases delirious. if your wife keeps having sex in her sleep then it is because she thinks of sex during the day. it's a psychological problem not a spiritual problem. 50 years ago, your forefathers also thought children with sickle-cell anaemia were all possessed by demons but thanks to science, that stupidity has now been exposed!
Even though I know Dayokanu can speak for himself, I wish to correct some interpretations to all his post on this thread (I can see some propagandists trying to use his post as a jumping off board for their the husband and his family are kings propaganda).

He is not saying the woman deserves to be beaten because she dared to "touch a member of her husband's family" to think that would imply he believes it is okay if it were a member of her family or some average joe off the street (Take note safarigirl)

He is not saying the woman has no right to reprimand the child in question.

He is not saying it is okay for the BIL to beat the woman just because she has a lesser status in the family (again safarigirl take note)

He is not saying the woman deserved what she got because she over stepped the boundaries her "Janey come lately in to the family" status awards her. (looking at you again Safarigirl)

What he is saying is violence no matter who it is directed at is wrong. Let's face it...Nigerians, we are bullies. We tend to pick on people we perceive are weaker than us (Physically, financially, mentally and any other ally you can think of) this is why Bosses can slap workers, Rich man can slap poor man, men beat women, Adults beat children.

This is why the people who get killed, maimed and ostracized from society because they are "witches" are the poor, the elderly women and children. How come a man is never a wizard? How come children from wealthy homes are not amongst does getting nails drilled in their heads. This is the mentality of our society.

But back to the issue hand. . . Why do we get all up in arms when an adult beats another adult (man beating woman) but don't bat an eye when an adult beats a small child, who by all accounts is more defenseless).

If we are to table the reasons given for why men do the former, we will see how not so different they are from reasons given for the latter.

She was rude
She was disrespectful
She needed correction
It was to teach her a lesson for the future
She needed her tongue curbed
She needs an attitude change etc.

If these reasons can sound appalling for one instance, what makes them a-okay in the next? huh huh

Despite our beaty beaty society, we still have some of the worst set of kids. At what point are we gonna sit back and realize. . .something ain't right? Maybe it is time to go to the drawing board and come up with something else?

There's gotta be a middle ground between the so called beat at all cost, beat like there is no tomorrow Nigerian culture and the so called pat a cake, pat on the head, there there culture people perceive to be of the west.

Let's find that and stop treating each other like animals
excellent post!
well done, ma'am....

So losing to Arsenal is a function of the venue of the game? Simple question Did Arsenal murder man Utd in 2005?
it's a cup final.....united murdered arsenal in a neutral ground but arsenal won the sweepstakes.
chelsea on the other hand, won the sweepstakes on bayern's turf in a one off game. no away goal rule, no 1st leg, no 2nd leg. bayern would never have another opportunity as good as that to win the champions league.

why isn't it their desire? of course they might grumble and then i put a tasty offer into it. "we all go to the macdonalds after church" - then going to church becomes their desire.

So if I decide to respect the law in Saudi and do not kiss my wife, according to your logic, I don't desire to kiss her then? grin grin grin grin grin grin grin
yes - you don't
the desire is now centred on respecting the law in saudi. kissing your wife in public has now ceased to be your number one desire. you either desire to kiss her in private or you forget about kissing her at all till you move back to your base in sagamu! it's simple logic.

Here are dictionary definition of desire for you to help you:

Desire

1. to wish or long for; crave; want.
2. to express a wish to obtain; ask for; request: The mayor desires your presence at the next meeting.
3. a longing or craving, as for something that brings satisfaction or enjoyment: a desire for fame.
4. an expressed wish; request.
5. something desired.
6. sexual appetite or a sexual urge.

A desire is your choice, not what you have to do because others restrict you. Basically a WISH! grin
and that "wish" could be termed as a fantasy!
what you decide to do before any given action is your desire.....you could do otherwise but you still decided to do what you thought to do. sagamite, stop arguing....

"I no go gree, you must kill me today arguments". grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

And you forgot your argument that wish is not desire, oya lets hear that one. I see you dodge am. grin
this is not "i no go gree"......you have not advanced your point one jot!
bringing up kids who don't want to go to church as example - you make me laugh. that's the wrongest instance to cite.
kids are called kids for a reason and that is because they cannot be held responsible for the actions they take. desire/wish cannot apply here......sagamite, try another gimmick, you are boring me!

debosky: The upfront payment is £22.5m with 1.5m in add ons - that's from the BBC which broke the news of the signing with details of what transpired during the negotiations. Fergie has now confirmed that he did need to speak with Arsene to get the deal done.
bbc is chatting shyte. upfront payment of £22.5m? for who?
this is the correct details concerning van persie's move:
United are understood to have agreed a £15m downpayment for last season’s Footballer of the Year and Players’ Player — who scored 30 Premier League goals for last season. That will rise to £24m depending on appearances.
We all know the initial bid was £15m, so for that to have moved ahead, Utd paid more . Not too important really - the deal is done.
we are not talking bid here, we are talking the amount united paid into arsenal's bank account this week. the 15m would rise to £24m depending on titles, appeareances, etc. united have their arses covered.

As for the inane comparison with Sheva, Sheva scored 19 goals in his penultimate season before joining Chelski - his average over the past couple of seasons easily exceeded 20 goals a season, without the injury baggage. More importantly he had THREE years left on his deal before moving. If you don't appreciate that important difference, quit now and go back to scavenging. grin
ohhh, shut up!
sheva scored 19 goals in his penultimate season before joining chelsea? van persie scored 22 goals in 33 apps in his penultimate season, he scored 37 goals in 48 apps last season.....you have to be a saphead not to think united got him on a bargain @ £15m. shevchenkp at £30m in 2006? if you fixed £30m deposit in a bank in 06, how much would it be now, debosky? you are a tool!

ronkebp: That is an arguement for another day. you cannot use it as an example in a case like this.
ok then,
let's ignore a part of the bible and let's use another part that suits our agenda as a whip to flog others.
if we all follow what is written in the bible to the letter in this day and age, we would all be in maricopa county jail.

darefestus: I wonder where the thread-derailers come from.
So, RVP trained with Wazza 2day and the lads are all excited. I must say i have my doubt about this deal but i hope to God and his son Jesus that he proves me wrong. Anyone taking a punt on RVP scoring against the toffees?
what doubts do you have? that united should not buy a quality striker that was available for £15m? i have pondered over this matter and i concluded van persie cannot make us worse....he can only make us better and if he brings just 1% improvement to the way we play, then his acquisition must have achieved what fergie intended it to achieve.

people keep complaining about his age and resale value - since when has the richest club in the world started focusing on the resale value of a player? only amateurs think that way. the value of a player is not the difference between his selling price and his purchase...that is not where the income comes from.

van persie's value is on the pitch. if his goals get us a champions league title(£50m), premier league(£50m) and boost shirt sales in cambodia, then he would have justified his acquisition. van persie was bought to help us win titles, the resale value is irrelevant if he can achieve that objective.

I know you very well. No matter how blatantly your argument is murdered you will hold on to it like a market woman fighting Mike Tyson. "I no go gree, you must kill me today" attitude.
until i am convinced my argument has been murdered, i don't just cop-out
i don't leave a fight without a blackeye smiley

You actually went to blindly look for a word (wish) to try and dispute that it is not a desire to want to kiss my wife is Saudi, instead of acccepting the point magnanimously. grin
there's no point to admit here, sagamite.
are you seeing differently?

You seriously have to learn to accept when your point has been murdered and stop striving to bring it alive with lame points. Only Jesus raise things from the dead.
coogar does too....
i am capable of beating niggas to death and also capable of beating dead niggas back to life.

So to you behaviour is the same thing as desire, but wish is completely different from desire? grin grin grin grin grin grin
your desire becomes your behaviour. if you desire to drink and you carry out your thoughts, you would drink.
there's a thought behind every action.

You actually sat down and conjured that up to defend a buried point instead of accepting the point is dead and start a quiet mourning moment?
duh! i left you in a mourning period much earlier when i told you to learn the difference between controlling and dictating.

Okay here are the dictionary definitions.
thank you....let's get down to biznizz!

Wish:
1. to want; desire; long for (usually followed by an infinitive or a clause): I wish to travel. I wish that it were morning.
2. to desire (a person or thing) to be (as specified): to wish the problem settled.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/wish?s=t

Behavior:
1. manner of behaving or acting.
2. Psychology, Animal Behavior .
a. observable activity in a human or animal.
b. the aggregate of responses to internal and external stimuli.
c. a stereotyped, species-specific activity, as a courtship dance or startle reflex.
3. Often, behaviors. a behavior pattern.
4. the action or reaction of any material under given circumstances: the behavior of tin under heat.

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/behavior?s=t

Here is the the thesaurus for "wish", see what they used alternative definition for the word:

http://thesaurus.com/browse/wish
i am struggling to cope as to why you are defining the things i already know here.
wish, desire, behaviour, etc. did i actually say the technical meaning of desire and behaviour is the same? what i was trying to say is....if you desire something and you carry it out, that desire has become your behaviour!

james holmes desired to kill innocent people in aurora, he went to the cinema with a loaded weapon and carried out his desire. what was his desire? to kill. what was his behaviour? he killed. is there any disparity between what he desired and what he ended up doing? this is not rocket science. there's a thought(desire) behind every action.

And you will say you are not scraping the bottom of the barrel when arguing? grin
you were the culprit caught scraping the barrel earlier.

Okay, feel free to show me which dictionary you used to conclude that desire is the same thing as behavior and wish is different from desire.
i would show you after you must have shown me why you concluded "dictating" and "controlling" are different things.

The floor is yours.
floor accepted with all pleasure....i did justice to the floor and the floor is now being passed back to you.

hmmmmm!~!!! okay ooooo....
why would my brother raise his hands against my wife? i don't move around violent women and if i ever marry a woman that raises her hands against another man's kids then she deserves whatever she gets from there - no quarter given!

Dede1: If they had given her the go-ahead light to discipline, not abuse her, the father of the teenage girl would not have driven to the madam house to deliver slaps without allowing the madam to utter a word.
lessons painfully learnt then - next time she would think twice before touching another man's child!

Dede1: You are moronically idiotic to insinuate that being a Nigerian is also animalistic. I am born and bred in Nigeria and have seen some wicked women such as you treat housemaids like slaves and will not lay a finger on their own kids. From the story, the 14 year old is not her maid and even if she is, does not give the madam the audacity to turn her into punching bag.
The madam was lucky the 14 year old girl did not break her head.
why didn't the madam report the neice to her husband or the girl's parents? if they then give her the go ahead to "discipline" her then she is free to do so. nigerians and their willingness to beat other people's children - animalistic attitude. i read someone saying the woman should report to the authorities -duh! she would be jailed first for abusing a child before her own case would be heard!

drnoel: Guys this is currently causing ripples in my extended family. The wife of one of my first cousin´s was beaten up by one of her husband´s immediate brothers. The lady in question has 2 children for her husband and just kind of needed help in her house so she requested that one of her husband´s nieces should come and live with them for a while. The little girl (14 years) that was sent has lived with them since she was 12 years. The little girl started having problems with the madam of the house and at the peak of the problems the lady beat her niece. Ofcourse her niece reported the issue to her parents and her father drove down immediately without asking what the problem was and gave her series of very dirty slaps. I heard she tried to complain but the series of slaps that followed each other after the other shut her up. I heard the brother-inlaw also shouted shut-up u are a woman.

Guys/Girls pls what are ur take on this matter. If u were her husband what would u do. If u were the lady in question that was beaten would u fight ur inlaw back or would u just take the beaten and not complain.
if the madam truly thrashed her neice then she deserved what she got....
you mess with my child, you are dead as a corpse! what effrontery would another woman have to beat my child? not a chance!!!!

dayokanu: Winning Bayern on penalties is what is called murdered to you? Togo can beat Barcelona on Penalties. Many top players can miss a penalty. Messi, Baggio, Zico, C.Ronaldo at the peak of their powers missed crucial penalties.
how did the last champions league final get to a penalty shoot out on your own turf?

Arsenal won their last trophy beating Man Utd on penalties, I guess they must have murdered Man Utd in the 2005 FA cup
i can't remember 2005 fa cup final was played at old trafford....
apples and oranges!

Dortmund? I laff in Umuahia. Has Dortmund been able to qualify from their CL groups just yet? The same Dortmund losing to our wife Marseiille
then it says a lot about the quality of your squad if the loser to your wife(marseille) have such a stronghold on the bundesliga and bayern have no answers to their dominance!
