Thank you everyone for your comments. I've taken note of useful information where it has been provided. Best regards. |
Good day everyone. Kindly advice on the precautions to be taken when building a wet room (shower room) in a house. In the house I live currently, the wet room soaks the wall of the room directly below the wet room on the lower floor. Please advise on how to properly construct a wet room to prevent such leakage and how to rectify this current situation. Thank you. |
Definitely, JAMB2016 is questionable. JAMB should announce the process for asking for a script to be re-marked, and should do so fast. Pressures should be mounted via all available means. The integrity of JAMB exam is important to Nigeria's societal growth, since it directly affects access to tertiary education in the country. Infact, my concern was aroused by the sudden change in the start date of the exam - from 29th February to 27th February. Why would an examination board of such repute change a publicly announced start date without obvious reasons, no explanations and no apologies. However, since the candidates didn't raise any eyebrow, I commended the Nigerian spirit in our youth - the spirit of survival despite unreasonable pressures - and I saluted their gallantry as they presented for the exams on the 27th of February. Events that have subsequently ensued however have made my heart bleed. From the 40 extra marks given to some candidates by JAMB, to the various challenges at the exam centres, to JAMB changing subject combinations of candidates, to abrupt changes in candidates exam centres to towns several states apart, to the cries of candidates about the exam results they received........the list of worries about this 2016 JAMB is unending. In a bid to advise candidates on appropriate routes for formal complaints, I discovered two websites: www.jamb.org.ng and www.jamb.gov.ng Both seem to be maintained by JAMB, contain different vital information for candidates but with link in only one direction! Another source of amazement. Why two different * effectively unlinked* websites by the same organisation? So, how does JAMB advise candidates to complain about their experiences during the exam or their scores? No guidance at all on either of the two websites. This for me, is just the final straw. Every reputable examination body that I have encountered provides a process for a candidate to log a complaint or ask for a script to be remarked. WAEC, GCSE, Cambridge, SAT, GMAT etc. JAMB should have/set up a process for complaints and advise it publicly and quickly. It is also essential for a timeline to be advised so that all issues are dealt with before marks are sent to universities. Anything short of this is a disservice to Nigerians as a whole. I encourage candidates who have been unfairly affected to keep speaking up until they are heard. You are the social media generation. Use that medium for this good cause. Also, send messages to private TV stations and print media via email, facebook, twitter etc. Hopefully, one of them will see the need to take up this issue of JAMB2016 for public interest reasons. |
elpatch:Not only that! Nigerian comedy! Further get amused by noting that the uterine rupture is said to have been caused by breath seizure due to stench from the environment!!! |
Congratulations. I wish you the very best. |
Hello! The house I reside is roofed with Aluminum and it's very noisy when it rains. Why is this so please? This noise is making me consider the stone-coated roof tiles for my own use. Otherwise, I'd use the aluminium roofing products. Are all aluminum roofs noisy? If not, what probably went wrong in the place I'm staying? Thanks. Cool |
With FTA, can each occupant tune to his preferred station or are they all limited to one station? |
Hi! Please where are the scratch cards sold? I've checked a couple of banks but no success. Kindly direct. Thanks. |
Truflame:GTBank - don't even go there! * If you have not tried anything beyond routine cash transactions with GTBank, you may be deceived. * Until you have scrutinized your account statements over the last 3 years and do not see unexplainable debits, please say nothing. I mean amounts that most people will tend to overlook like N10, N12 etc with narratives that seem to be written in a foreign language. * When you get to a GTBank customer service desk and you are treated warmly, not like a bother - then speak. * When GTBank makes an error on your account and offers you an apology, please speak. GTBank - a dying glory. |
Okay! This is the *most interesting* thread I've read in this auto section. The op has been advised and I've had a good laugh. Well done all, well done! |
Advice needed please. A bank I use passed a wrong debit into my account for services I neither requested for nor enjoyed. They have refused to respond to my request to reverse the debit; they just kept mute. I also have reasons to suspect that this debit (a small amount) was passed to many of their customers fraudulently. I've tried two central bank email addresses but the emails were not delivered (seems the addresses are not working) i.e. info@cenbank.org and info@cbn.gov.ng Where should I forward my complaint to please? Thanks. |

Kazeems come in various shapes and sizes. The 'most interesting' I've come across is a well-known autodoctor that runs a very informative radio programme. I took my 2007 kia cerato car to their workshop because of some vibration. They gave me a long list of things they would change: ranging from engine seat to fuel nozzle because each of those things could cause the problem. Gave me a bill that was over N300,000 (yes, over three hundred thousand naira). I asked whether some of the things could be repaired rather than changed and they said, "We don't repair things here, we change". I jejely drove my car away from the place and gave it to a classic Kazeem who sorted the vibration out. Total cost: N27,000 (yes, twenty seven thousand naira). That was about 6months ago and the car has been working well since then. Okay, before the auto champions ask me too many detailed questions I can't answer. All I know is that the first Kazeem had a wonderful sense of humour and his own trick is to list for you all possible causes of the problem and tell you they will be changed without getting a specific diagnosis of the problem. |
PapiWata: ![]() In fact, we should also watch you closely!! Nice one! |
mmsen:I respect your point of view but the tone.....No! |
Well, I haven't used any of Strongbest's products but I made liquid soap myself using the method he taught on the thread shown below. https://www.nairaland.com/1798724/free-skill-acquisition-e-center The liquid soap that resulted was mild and pleasant in its feel. As a long-term user of Morning Fresh and Mama Gold, I'm pleased to note that I preferred the feel of the soap that resulted from the use of Strongbest's method. It also does not dry out my skin like most other soaps and detergents. So, my inference would be that provided Strongbest does not commercialise his liquid soap by cutting corners in production, his soap would stand at least shoulder-to-shoulder with better known brands (or even tower above the others - going by my experience). Btw Strongbest, thanks for the thread referred to above! I didn't post a feedback so, I seized this opportunity. Keep up the good work. Regards, Cool |
KDK:Please give me your supplier's contacts. Thanks. |
Yungwizzzy:I've just had a good hearty laugh. Infact, I'm still ROTFL! |
I'm back home now and I'm proud to say that we didn't use the horn at all. Okay, okay, full disclosures....... I didn't drive but I was very impressed by the fact that my driver was determined not to use his horn and was very patient and calm. Infact, when we got to my street, I just started applauding him. A whole day without honking. I'm going to try it soon, with me at the wheels. Oh God help me o!! In my opinion, the important thing is that an awareness has been created. The mixed reviews don't surprise me, infact 100% adherence would have been scary (I'd have been on the lookout for aliens!). Up Lagos! Up Up Lagosians. We did it!!! |
Thanks a lot to all. I'm well-guided! Cool |
Proposed dimensions and labour costs for our work. Experts please advise. Septic tank: Length 8ft 3", width 7ft, depth 8ft 10" Soak away: Length 6ft, width 5ft, depth 6ft Carpenter N35000 Iron bender N35000 Bricklayer N65000 I think I read somewhere on this forum that the depth of a septic tank/ soak away must be 12ft. Please advise. Thanks. Cool |
mufutau55:Hi Hajj M., I searched through the forum but didn't see comprehensive discussions on soak-away/septic tank; just bits and pieces. Kindly post some links please. We're working on ours and we'd like some guidance on dimensions and labour costs. Btw, I noticed in a thread that Spyder talked about waterproof cement and you also confirmed using it for your soak-away. That was not included in the quote we received. Is it only used for some types of soak-aways? Please advise. Thanks. Cool |
Check out the posts of 'Lawyer' on this forum. You may wish to contact him. |
KENNSAMMY:So, what's it? Tell us about it. Cool |
Please show pictures of the surrounding area/neighbourhood buildings. |
Posting your prices would encourage people to call you if your price is right and especially if people whose jobs you've done are happy with you and give good reviews about your work. We would also be considering our options for roofing very soon. Best regards, Cool |
