let me give you my experience.
I bought a second hand 100aH battery, a 1000watt car inverter and the 20ah smart charger.
we only get electricity between the hours of 1.30am and 5am every day. during that time I charger my battery nonstop.
by 5pm I put on the inverter. it carries
1. 5 energy saving bulbs
2. two rechargeable fans
3. a Gotv decorder.
4. a portable DVD player with large TV screen.

of the bulbs at least 2 is on all the time as well as the rechargeable fans though not at full speed; the battery drains faster on that. the recorder and TV is on all the time. there is a plethora of phone and other chargers that are on as well.
I switch off everything by midnight when I'm about to go to sleep. thus I get 7 hours of electricity from my setup. I have two big generators I have not used in two weeks.
the moral of the story is the setup works and I also save on fuel.

I have an extra 20ah charger I want to sell when I find where I packed it; being looking for it for a while.

It cannot work for me here that for straight 4 days or more you haven't seen PHCN.
In that case your gen must be up and running if you must run things in the house.

I have experimented with different versions of external chargers many bought at very exhorbitant prices yet they didn't last.
His own is never a Solution to me cos UPS is never built to work for a long lenght of time and the VA cannot carry any heavy appliance in the House.
Inverters built solely for inverter purposes remains the solution for heavy appliance users.

As far as I know their job is to protect the lives and properties of Nigerians and the private institutions are Nigerians property and Nigerian lives are there. I appreciate your objective response but what prompted the question was the Institution was previously guarded by plain clothes Police men but was replaced by NSCDC and hence the question.

CHINA MADE -USE IN NIGERIA ONLY CHARGERS

Good evening to everyone in this Honorable Thread I call the Power house !!!
I want to raise an issue about these China made battery chargers in the Nigerian market.
This is based on usage experience and comparison with other chargers.
These Made in China for Nigerian Users like- SOOAER, SONYA DISGITAL BATTERY CHARGER etc. are made with very substandard electronic circuits that don’t have part no for easy identification and replacement.
They also charge with fake amperage –this I mean by when i charge with this china charger, my 400amps battery runtime is 3 hours when I borrowed a friend’s 24v locally made charger , the runtime on the same load was up to 7 hours- now you see what I mean !!!!!
This China made charger blew up in just less than 3 weeks I bought it and my 19,000 just went down the drains.
These facts here are subject to debate by users of China made chargers because I know they can produce quality Chargers which are not brought into our Country Nigeria.
Candid opinions are highly welcome to prevent innocent viewers here from burning their fingers.
