Phones › Re: NCC Fines Telecommunication Operators For Poor Service by cooldipo(m): 12:45pm On Dec 15, 2013
It's obvious these fines are not working....NCC need to come up with some more drastic measures.....Nigeria is too weak at putting big enterprise in check because of the underlying corruption.
Career › Re: Your Experience As A Sales Man by cooldipo(m):
This bring to mind the memory of my late friend he left Ekiti for Lagos after his first degree. His first job was to sell electrical products all over the streets of Lagos. He threw in the towel after weeks of toil with reasonable sale, returned home, got a better sale job with a pharmaceutical coy, and life seems better but life is not fair....we lost El-muri....when things were just coming together after all the many nights of "ila-alasepo" in school. The pain in the eyes on his mum till date is better imagined. She lost a shining star who like the op has paid his dues and worn his sole....life is not just

My advice to you is to turning in your resignation letter and go learn a trade like computer engineering or a job that allows for career advancement.

Travel › Re: How To Get To Calabar State by cooldipo(m): 8:46am On Nov 13, 2013
Your lucky just got luckier, I was told that there is a straight bus from Akure to Calabar.....if ASUU resumes this week, I will suggest you go to Unical and approach students for free accommodation if you are rugged enough.....or you can do 'overnight reading' in any of their lecture theatre.....goodluck!
Travel › Re: How To Get To Calabar State by cooldipo(m): 7:11am On Nov 13, 2013
I just did some findings for you. From Akure, board a vehicle to Onitsha from the garage on Akure-Owo road, from Onitsha garage join another bus to Calabar. Nota Beni: Calabar is one of the farthest distance you can travel to in southeastern direction. It is closer to Bamenda in Cameroon than it is to Akure.....so brace yourself!
Travel › Re: How To Get To Calabar State by cooldipo(m): 6:49am On Nov 13, 2013
Calabar is the capital city of cross river state. News I heard over a week ago is that the hotels have been booked for the duration of Eagles game. So your best bet is to look out for Corpers from your area that are serving in Calabar and you can do that through friends. You can make a Facebook post asking friends to help with accomodation in Calabar....i reside in FUTA, Akure myself and has been looking forward to visiting Obudu, Cattle Ranch myself. I have secured a free accommodation in Obudu town through a friend and facebook post towards that.....explore in the days of your youth and you can have stories to tell generations to come. I wish people can organise tours to tourist destinations in Nigeria in a corporate way. Memories of my visit to Ghana by road from AAU Akungba Akoko still lingers....then my combing of almost all available beach in Lagos state about 2 months ago still brings nostalgic feelings....I'm sorry to have personalized your thread while offering little help to your question. I just wish we can live our dreams even as Nigerian living in Nigeria
Politics › Re: Ekiti Debt Profile Under Fayemi's Govt Worrisome, Alarming -adeyeye by cooldipo(m): 2:50pm On Sep 08, 2013
I wonder why a post as serious does not interest many.....is this because the spendthrift in question here belongs to the APC? This is exactly what is wrong with Nigeria, we cannot speak the truth if it's going to affect our next meal. Ekiti people deserve better than a mortgaged future and this new craze for free money should be condemned by all well meaning Nigerian. Just how long must we continue to built a dept profile? It's even more annoying when you considered what the money is spent on; pure elitist project..........not to talk about the car gift to every Ekiti Oba which I doubt if there is any mention of in the state budget. This is not the way any state should be run!

Politics › Re: Oni Loses Bid To Unseat Fayemi At Supreme Court by cooldipo(m): 8:56am On Jun 01, 2013
Oni is a gentleman, way ahead of his peers. You hardly hear him ranting on the pages of Newspaper neither will he bad-mouth opposition. I don't see anything wrong in him seeking redress in a law court and since the court has said it does not have the jurisdiction to try the case he has carried himself in an enviable manner like he always do....will like to see more of our politician submit themselves process like this without playing to the gallery.
NOTA BENI: Avoid joining the bandwagon....look out for the merit and demerit of every case and avoid sentiments.
Politics › Re: I Am The Next Ekiti Governor —fayose by cooldipo(m): 9:03am On Apr 01, 2013
Fayose should understand that the fact that he lost the last senatorial election mean his bubble has busted. He is not even a first choice to his senatorial district let alone experienced Ekiti populace. PDP will be doing themselves a disservice by giving him their ticket as only a fresh candidate with proven track record can brighten their chance. I won't vote for him personally on any platform 'cos he is not civil in his way.....Oni is my pick in Ekiti or Nigeria anytime but he is not the best for Ekiti for now though we appreciate his selflessness much more now that we have strangers in govt house....his sincerity of purpose stands him out!
ESUT came 3rd in Nigeria to qualify for the competion.

So, its safe to say that the Greatest Esut came 4th in Africa. grin

Aluta Continua!
That is not true sir! Esut didn't do quite as well as we all know they are capable of. They didn't come close to the first 3 Uni that qualified from Nigeria. Big ups to the guy from Esut as they put up a strong showing despite their many challenges. Truth is sacrosanct!

Education › Re: UNIZIK Wins Geo-sciences Competition Among African Universities by cooldipo(m): 7:37am On Mar 28, 2013
Congratulations to Unizik! Worthy of note is the fact that FUTA emerged the winner of the Southern African Zone (preliminary round to the African Final) a day before and lead Unizik and others in qualifying for the final by 4%. It was not surprising to see many Uni present impressed with the showing; some promising to raise the bar like FUTA in subsequent years. Many were surprised to see Unizik carry then day having came in second with a difference of over 4% to FUTA just some hours before then. The final results read Unizik 79.33% Helwan Uni Egypt 78.87%. FUTA 78.33% Uni du Tunis 4th Unilag 5th. 1% difference between the first 3 looks more like abracadabra and the competition felt more like a selection thereafter cos Unizik were unable to
do justice to the questions the panel raised while their closest rival managed to put up some impressive showing in that division and other glitches in the course of their presentation. IBA is a laudable program which should be encouraged but the competition has to be standardised.....a situation where one of the organiser were telling one of the competing schools (FUTA) "sebi u have won it b4 now, let another win" before the winner emerge leaves one with a bad taste; let alone the fact that Unizik was allegedly lead by a high powered team lead by their VC's wife whose daughter stayed till the end of the program. If the organiser get to read this, I will like them to know that they need to take the competition to the next level, first by doing accreditation where competing schools will send in their list of presenters before the programme with their curriculum vitae which can be vetted before and during the competition. This is necessary to prevent situations whereby school present a mixed team of undergraduate and post graduate for a competition that is solely for Petroleum Geoscience post graduate only; such anomaly was reported within the Unizik camp though unofficially. Another thing worthy of note is the composition of the panel; it will be better if each zone in Africa is represented on the panel unlike this year where all were Nigerian except for the 2 expatriates. I hope you won't see this as the ranting of an ant.....take the plus and see how you can find a way around the minus......you are doing a great job......IBA forever!
Kids....
I find it hard to stomach that name calling.....we have to respect each other's nature, he just told you about his challenge and opened up as much as he can....the least you can do is help not trying to make him less than a man!

Bro I will advice you make her more of a friend, she will open up the more and you may be lucky enough to earn her trust and companionship....then things can progress from there. "Water wey man go grink; no go flow pass am!"

@ OP thanks for this topic; I haven't commented on NL in a while....but you dragged me out.....kudos!
Akure, FUTA PG Hostel; 3G disappears when you enter the rooms and on the corridor you get full 3G with a "snaily" download speed of about 20kb/s

Worthy of note is the fact that I sent mtn customer care an email this past week and after some back and forth questioning and useful replies....got a call from one of their staff in their Ibadan office and he gave me his word that they will send a team down to Akure this week with a promise to find a probable solution.....I was impressed with the way he sounded on the phone and I want to encourage more people to log their complains online cos obvious they need it to serve us better! Thanks
